A teaser for an upcoming title! Advance Reader Copies for Evocation have started appearing in the world now, which is truly wonderful to see! These are essentially very limited, special edition teasers for the book, so while I can’t share the final cover yet, I’m delighted to be able to share these
Digital Illustration / Bubbles Sweetshop
This is part of a series of storefronts I'm working on at the moment, inspired by my friends and family. This little sweetshop is for my brother, who has a very sweet tooth and always seems to have a selection of sweets to share! I taught a workshop based on this illustration, so if you’re curious about my process, take a look below!

2018 in Book Covers
In January 2018, I got a new job as a book cover and general graphic designer with Mercier Press, a publisher based in Cork. I have always loved reading and books and design and art and typography, so this job has been a wonderful experience so far. For over a year now, I have loved exploring ideas and capturing stories through images and words, and I love pushing my skills a little bit further with every new project that comes my way. So today, I wanted to celebrate some of that work, by gathering some of my favourite covers from 2018. Keep an eye out for them in bookshops!
Heroes and Villains at The Crawford Art Gallery
I am absolutely delighted to be part of the Heroes and Villains exhibition in the Crawford Art Gallery in Cork. My work is on display for the next five weeks in the historic Gibson Cabinet on the first floor, alongside that of another local artist, Keith Kennedy. If you get a chance to visit the Crawford anytime soon, I hope you take a look!
Opening Hours for the Crawford:
Monday - Saturday: 10am - 5pm,
Late opening Thursdays until 8pm,
Sundays and Bank Holidays: 11am - 4pm
Adventures in Italy
After a fantastic trip to Italy in September, I'm getting back into the swing of reality. But before I start writing about my work again, I wanted to share a little photo blog of the trip!
One of the first things we did when we arrived was book a tandem skydive in Fano, and without a doubt it was my favourite part of the trip. I'd recommend anyone who has ever thought about it to go for it! It's a lot more gentle than I expected it to be, the views are spectacular, and the feeling of gently floating back to the ground is pretty incredible. :)
While we were there, we rented a house near Saltara, but Fano was our local town. There were churches everywhere, sculptures and statures galore, wonderful pizza to try out, and incredible gelato! If you get the chance, try the cherry! The peach was also a big hit!
San Marino was another highlight! An independent principality in the mountains, every street offers an amazing view. Most of the souvenirs we took home were from the shops lining the streets here, and the food was excellent too. The walk along the clifftops was a beautiful mini trek, with stunning views of the three fortresses along the way, and an incredible viewpoint with spectacular views of the Apennines, and as far as the coast.
A lot of my holidays recently have featured a MotoGP race, and I'm quite happy to say this occasion was no different! On our first day at the track, we enjoyed beautiful sunshine... on the second day, we very much needed our umbrellas. Despite the rain, it was still a delight to watch the races trackside.
As our trip was coming to a close, we headed for Bologna, and to the Sanctuary di San Luca. I really loved the architecture here! We couldn't stay for long, but I'm grateful we were able to visit.
Finally, we took a trip into the centre of Bologna. There were examples of incredible architecture everywhere, frescos, arches, statues, towers, and a thousand other things to see. I'm glad I wasn't driving the rental car, but I'm grateful we were able to visit such an impressive city before heading home. :)
Quick update! 4th year was, needless to say, one of the most challenging years I've had in college, and while I'll miss some aspects of student life, I'm happy to be moving on to new adventures! I've been tweaking my website quite a bit over the past few days, and I'm looking forward to sharing lots of recent - and new! - projects there soon! Keep an eye out on the blog! :) http://www.onecuriouschip.com/blog/

Also: in the spirit of new adventures; I'll be joining a podcast for the first time tomorrow! If you're curious; head over to The Good News Segment, give the page a like, and keep an eye on Twitch around 9pm tomorrow. :)
Happy Valentine’s Day!
No better time to share a “photograph” I illustrated capturing a moment in the lives of Albert and Lilly, the couple in my final year film.

Earlier this year, I was invited to join a project that got me excited immediately. The Guards, an independent comic with a brilliant creative team behind it, is finally ready for the release! Click through to read more! :)
Fiona, Anne & Siobhán on Dublin South FM with Kevin Keane, Michael Cronin. Books, Music, Gigs & Theatre.
So wonderful to hear Kevin Keane chat abut The Guards and the Irish comic scene on South Dublin FM! Many thanks for a very kind shoutout too!
Earlier this year, I took on a new comic project with LS Comics and Bold Puppy. I'm delighted to finally share None Shall Pass , a short teaser comic which will be available for free at the Lightning Strike Comic Books table (while stocks last) at Dublin Comic Con this year! Click through to take a look at all the details, and to see my design process along the way.
I had a lot of fun making this fantasy set extension last semester! Anyone recognise any of the places in this? Hint: some elements of Kinsale are in there! Lots of details, WIPs and breakdowns on my blog. :)
Click to play! This project has been a long time coming (you can read about Update 01 and Update 02, if you like), but I'm finally sharing the final render. It was something of an experiment, which meant it came and went with a whole bunch of challenges, but I did have a lot of fun with it! I'd love to revisit this project at some stage in the future though. I learned a huge amount through the experience of creating this, and I do think I'd be able to produce a better overall standard if I attempted it again. That said, I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out, and hope you enjoy it too!
