Reaching up to his own face, finger pressing lightly against the scab on his lip, Izumi winced lightly at the small stinging pain.  

He wasn’t used to it. He’d never engaged in a fight and he’d never gotten his lip cut like this before. It made it hard to eat and hard to drink, and even hard to talk. It was annoying… a reminder of everything being wrong.

At least his mom wouldn’t be around for a while longer. He didn’t wanted to imagine how mad she’d be about his face looking like this - about him being anything but pretty.

Being in different classes meant he hardly saw the silvertee - and lately he only ever seemed to see him now and then in the hallway since he was excused from practice. Nito never asked why, but he noticed how Izumi seemed to keep his head down and avoiding eye contact with everyone as he walked. But now that he had a better view of him the small blonde noticed those scars.

Izumi turned gently towards the bunny as she spoke up, looking down at her small figure covered by her blue mantle. The bulge in her belly wasn’t overly obvious yet… but she certainly looked and smelled differently now that she wasn’t using magic to hide herself. One HC I came up with after posting Nazuna’s fantasy verse post was something regarding his gender and,,,,it’s just so fitting with what I mentioned in the first place. So I mentioned that despite Nazuna being a male, he has a feminine body for his species. ; this is because he indeed is a female. However, he uses magic to mask his scent and enough of his appearance as he can. Sadly with his body shape he can only change his chest size. This is to avoid being attacked by predators, seeing as females always tend to be a target. However, once he does go into a stage of heat is he unable to control his magic masking this.

He wasn’t sure what type of creature this was at first, but seeing the bunny he realized the presence of a displacer beast would obviously make him fearful. Still, he managed well all of his beasts, meaning usual preys and predators got along just fine on his party.

Izumi nodded lightly as bunny showed himself to be a bit wary of him -and the beast. He seemed like a proud one.

“I can imagine. You lapines are very fast after all.“ he praised him lightly “So, how about the snacks I mentioned, I have a lot of veggies~ Would you like some?”

Heh, he was getting on his good side with that proud compliment. This guy didn’t seem so bad after all - though Nazuna would never deny his senses! He smelt sweet, his scent being very friendly despite the mixed scents of other beasts lingering around. Just this alone made him less skittish around the human.

‘ Yes please, I’m starving! ‘ He’d declare,  ruby optics sparkling as he seemed bright eyed and bushy tailed. He actually was out here this far looking for food anyway.

Oh, good, the creature seemed to relax a bit, walking forward enough that his pretty fluffy ears and neck… bunny legs and tail showed. It seemed like a Lapine - a very human-like one.

And it seemed to talk common just fine.

“Nyla?” he acted a bit surprised, throwing a glance over his shoulder to the lazy creature that was now yawning widely

“Not at all~ He’s super sweet and a lil’ bit of a lazy ass. Totally inoffensive really~ Plus he’s my dear partner. He wouldn’t hurt you~”

Oh that was such a relief...The last thing Nazuna would hate to encounter was a beast that considered him prey; though if he was the tamer’s companion, he doubted that. Giving the creature a glance to double check did he then let out a sigh. Though learning this did he figure perhaps this male before him was a tamer of sorts, considering he referred to him as his partner. That’d explain why he smelt safe.

‘ G-Gewd..’Cause if he wasn’t you totally wouldn’t be able to get this close to me! ‘

The offer of snacks didn’t seem to do much, but he could clearly see the other moving around a bit. He couldn’t tell what kind of creature it was just yet, but maybe it was on the more timid side?

Wiggling his way from under the heavy displacer beast -and petting it plenty when it turned around confused, even giving him a kiss on the muzzle- did Izumi stood up and moved forward towards the bushes, ever so slowly, wanting to get a better look of whatever was looking at him.

“Hi there~” he said in a soft tone, raising his hand slightly as to greet it.

Oh good, that beast seemed to walk off, though by the looks of how it responded to the tamer did Nauzna feel a bit safer. Now that it was just the two of them did Nazuna seem to come closer, his more rabbit like features showing as he wasn’t so hidden by the bushes. 

‘ That thin....wasn’t dangerous....was it? ‘ He’d mumble, fumbling w his paws.

His gaze never seemed to stray from the tamer, body jolting slightly at his sweet words, ears twitching. The only thing keeping him from getting closer was that lazy beast who he seemed to be grooming. Any beast larger than him gave him a sense that they were dangerous....even though this one wasn't showing any signs. 

The Lapine didn't move much, even at the offer of snacks. The most movement he did was stagger foreward just a tiny bit

Fantasy AU rundown

Nazuna comes from a race of Lapines and is a child of  Selûne, and because of this he is able to hone magic abilities. He dosen’t live in the city, instead living in the forest with several other of his kind, often being very shy or rough around the edges around unfamiliar people ; especially those who may tease and taunt him for his small stature. Not to mention that Nazuna’s figure seems more feminine than the usual male Lapine form. He isn’t a cleric, but focuses in general magic that can indeed include healing magic. Despite his small stature does the moon shaped staff he wield seem to be far larger than him
