Y'know, after being in this arc for the last few years, it's only just occurred to me that the reason this works despite very little actual plot progression actually occurring is because it has the set up of a sports manga rather than a battle manga, what with its focus on meta and character building

One of the things that really gets me about ao3 defenders is that not only will they proudly donate to ao3 and bypass the donations posts of poor people in need, but they will also, quite proudly, go into the inboxes of people with active donation posts and actually TAUNT them with their decision to give to ao3 instead, will literally tell people “I see you need financial assistance but you hate ao3 because it houses cp and stuff so I’m gonna donate to them over you! Gotcha!” like…it’s actually so evil and I hate all of you

like blossomfall could have been a molly who had kittens and didn’t tell anyone who the father is and been a single mom. her litters bio dad could’ve been just a loner or something. nothing abt stemleaf or his littermates story changes with thornclaw not being their father. imo blossomfall being a single mom fits her character WAYYY more

like the erins presented us with this very valid and very realistic and very GOOD way to avoid disgusting ships by having mollies not reveal who the father was cus w the way the clans r structured, kits are genuinely Fine without having a father present like we could have a blend of some life’s having both parents and others not based upon the characters individual story lines . and the writers jsut ditched that concept after book 3
