TREAT YOU BETTER — lando norris x fem!bsf!reader.
summary: Before the fame, it was always Y/N and Lando Norris — best friends, nothing more. Now she’s a global pop star, he’s a Formula 1 sensation, and everyone sees what they refuse to admit: they’re perfect for each other. Except Y/N is taken — in a messy, on-and-off relationship with Drew Starkey that the whole world watches fall apart and come back together, over and over again. Lando sees it all — the chaos, the heartbreak, the way she keeps going back. And when her new album starts telling the same story, there’s no hiding it anymore. Because Lando’s done staying silent. And this time, he’s ready to fight for her — to prove he can treat her better.
warnings: This story contains strong language, mentions of a toxic relationship, arguments and emotional conflict, jealousy, and a fair amount of drama (a lot, actually 😭). It also touches on themes like infidelity and follows a slowburn, friends-to-lovers dynamic that may include sensitive situations.
ephie's radio: Every time I try to make a one-part SMAU, I fail… and this is clearly one of those times 😭
I promise I’ll bring part two as soon as possible—I still have a few things to figure out and finish first. Thank you so much for reading and for all the support 🤍

This comes just days after his girlfriend, singer Y/N Y/L, was seen in New York with her longtime best friend, Formula 1 driver Lando Norris.

ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? 2.0 — oscar piastri x magui's friend reader. lando norris x magui corceiro.
summary: You were hers first. Years of friendship, built long before the paddock, before the cameras, before him.
Then she brought him into her life. And somehow, he brought Oscar into yours. It was never supposed to matter—just double dates, shared laughs, something harmless. Until it wasn’t. Because falling for him didn’t feel like a mistake until it started costing you everything.
By 2025, the world had already chosen sides. What used to be friendship turned into rivalry, louder with every race, every headline, every whisper online. And you were right in the middle of it—too in love to walk away, too loyal to let go.
Then came the breaking point. One race. One crash. One moment that shattered whatever was left. After that, it was silence. Unfollow. Ignore. Pretend it never meant anything.
And now you’re stuck in between: love on one side, years of friendship on the other. So tell me, when everything starts falling apart, how do you choose… between the person you love and the person who knew you first?
WARNINGS: this story contains angst, tension between friends, miscommunication, social media drama, and some emotional conflict. there are also mentions of racing incidents and team dynamics that are purely fictional.
ephie's radio: hii, after a few days I finally posted the second and final chapter 🤍 thank you so much for reading, I really hope you loved it as much as I loved writing itbtw… stay tuned, a new series is coming 👀✨
—
Oscar stepped down from the podium with the trophy still in his hand, champagne drying on his suit, the roar of the crowd fading into something distant. He had won. Another clean race, another statement, another step further ahead in the championship.
It should’ve felt bigger. It should’ve felt simple but it didn’t.
The team welcomed him back, of course. There were smiles, pats on the back, a few genuine “well dones” from the people who always meant it. Andrea Stella was the first to reach him, pulling him into a quick, proud embrace, telling him it had been a perfect drive.
Oscar nodded, grateful but even that felt… layered, because he noticed what wasn’t there.
Zak stayed a few steps back. No handshake, no direct congratulations—just a brief nod from afar before turning his attention somewhere else.
And Lando… Lando wasn’t there at all.
Oscar didn’t say anything. He didn’t need to. But the absence sat there anyway, heavy and obvious. So he didn’t stay.
Instead, almost instinctively, he walked away from the center of it all—away from the cameras, the noise, the careful celebration—and toward her. YN.
She stood slightly off to the side, exactly where she had been most of the afternoon, watching everything unfold without stepping too far into it. Close enough to see, far enough to feel the shift in the air more clearly than most.
When Oscar reached her, he didn’t hesitate. He leaned in and pressed a soft kiss to her lips, brief but grounding. “Canada happened again,” he said, a quiet attempt at humor. But it didn’t quite land.
YN looked at him carefully.
She saw it instantly—the way his smile didn’t fully form, the way his shoulders held just a little too much tension for someone who had just won.
Her hand came up to his arm, thumb brushing lightly against him. “I know,” she said softly.
There was a pause.
Oscar glanced past her shoulder, back toward the garage for a second. “Did you notice?” he asked, voice low.
YN didn’t pretend not to understand. “Zak?” she asked.
He gave a small nod. “And Lando,” he added.
YN exhaled quietly. “Yeah,” she admitted. “I did.” She had noticed everything. The way Zak didn’t step forward. The way people hesitated before celebrating too loudly. The way the energy split in two—the win on one side, the loss on the other.
And Lando’s absence felt louder than anything.
Oscar looked back at her, searching her face like he needed confirmation that he wasn’t imagining it. “It’s weird,” he said. “I don’t know what I’m supposed to do with that.”
YN’s expression softened. “You won,” she said gently. “You’re allowed to feel good about that.”
“I do,” he replied quickly. Then, quieter—“I just don’t think everyone else does.” That lingered between them.
YN hesitated for a second before speaking again. “They’re not upset because you won,” she said carefully. “They’re upset because of how everything happened.”
Oscar let out a breath, running a hand briefly through his hair. “I didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I know,” she said immediately.
“But that doesn’t make it easier for them,” she added softly.
Another silence.
“They walked past you, didn’t they?”
YN stilled slightly at that.
Of course he noticed that too.
“…yeah,” she admitted.
Oscar’s jaw tightened just a little. “Did they say anything?”
She shook her head. “No.” That said enough.
Oscar looked away for a second, something in his expression hardening—not at her, not even fully at them, just… at the situation. “This is getting worse,” he muttered.
YN didn’t argue, because it was. She stepped a little closer, her hand sliding down to lace with his. “I’m still proud of you,” she said, quieter now, but more certain. “No matter how any of this feels.”
Oscar looked back at her, something in him softening again. “Yeah?” he asked.
She nodded. “Always.”
That made him breathe a little easier, not completely but enough. Around them, the noise picked up again—voices, laughter, cameras—but neither of them moved right away. Because even if everything else felt complicated, this part didn’t.

Mexican Grand Prix, 2025.
Oscar Piastri crossed the finish line in fifth place, and for a moment, the number felt heavier than it should have. It wasn’t a bad result—not on paper, not for most drivers—but for him, for the position he had been in just a few races ago, it meant something else entirely. It meant that once again, he was leaving without a podium. Four races had passed since Monza, and what used to feel consistent, almost inevitable, now felt uncertain.
And in Mexico, it finally cost him everything. He lost the championship lead.
No announcement was needed. No dramatic realization. Everyone understood it the moment the race ended. The shift wasn’t sudden, but it was undeniable.
Still, if anyone traced it back—if anyone was willing to be honest—it hadn’t started here. It had started in Monza. Five laps to go. A slow pit stop for Lando. Oscar catching up, closing the gap, making the overtake on track with the kind of precision that had defined his entire season. It had been clean, deserved, unquestionable. And yet, the radio came in anyway. Swap positions. Papaya rules. Do what’s best for the team.
He had obeyed, because that’s what he always did. Even if the question slipped out before he could stop it, even if there had been something sharper in his tone than usual when he asked if a slow pit stop was now considered part of racing. In the end, he gave the place back. Later, he even called it fair. Said Lando had been ahead for most of the race.
But something had shifted that day. Not loudly. Not in a way anyone could point to and define. Just enough to change the way things felt. And since then, it had been slipping. Not dramatically, not all at once. Just… steadily.
Until Mexico.
Because now, it wasn’t just a feeling. Now, it was real.
The conversations around him had changed too. They weren’t soft anymore, weren’t full of quiet admiration or effortless praise. They were sharper, more questioning, louder in a way that couldn’t be ignored. People were trying to understand what had happened, trying to make sense of a version of Oscar that didn’t match the one they had watched dominate the first half of the season.
Because it didn’t add up.
Drivers like that didn’t just forget how to perform. They didn’t lose control without reason. And so, people started looking elsewhere. At the team. At decisions. At patterns that, on their own, meant nothing—but together started to feel like something more.
Zak’s name came up more often now. So did the idea—still unproven, still unspoken officially—that maybe the balance inside McLaren wasn’t as even as they claimed. That maybe, when it mattered most, Lando was still the priority.
The team denied it. The FIA maintained everything was equal.
But that didn’t stop the speculation.
Oscar’s fans refused to believe that the same driver who had led the championship for months had suddenly lost his edge. Lando’s fans pushed back just as strongly, defending him, defending the team, insisting it was simply racing, simply form, simply how a season evolved.
But the doubt remained and it grew.
Inside the paddock, the atmosphere reflected it. It wasn’t tense in an obvious way—there were no arguments, no visible fractures—but it was quieter, more careful. Like everyone was aware that something wasn’t quite right, but no one wanted to be the one to say it out loud.
And YN wasn’t there not because she didn’t want to be, because she couldn’t. Classes, responsibilities, a life that existed outside the paddock and refused to pause no matter how much everything else seemed to be unraveling. She had tried to make it work, had tried to be there as much as she could, but Mexico had been one of the races she simply couldn’t attend. Still, her absence was felt.
She used to be part of the rhythm of it all, part of the balance between the chaos and something softer, something grounding. Lately, though, even when she was there, things hadn’t been the same. And now, with her gone, with no posts, no presence, no visible reaction, it felt like another piece of something that used to exist had quietly disappeared.
Oscar sat for a moment after the race, helmet off, gloves discarded beside him, his gaze fixed somewhere distant without really seeing anything. The noise around him faded into the background—engineers talking, footsteps moving, the usual post-race routine continuing as if nothing had changed. But everything had. P5.
He replayed it anyway. Every corner, every decision, every moment where it almost came together and then didn’t. There was no single mistake to point to, no obvious failure.
Just… not enough. Again.
His jaw tightened slightly, not in anger, but in something heavier. Something that had been building race after race, quiet and persistent. Because he had had it. The lead. The advantage. The control over the championship. And now, it was gone.
For the first time all season, it didn’t feel like he was setting the pace anymore. It felt like he was trying to catch up. And if things didn’t change soon—if whatever this was continued— He wouldn’t just lose positions. He would lose everything he had worked for. And this time, there would be nothing he could do to stop it.

The call connected almost immediately, like he had been waiting for it.
She didn’t say anything at first. Neither did he.
YN was still upset—more than she wanted to admit. It wasn’t just the story, it was everything that had been building up for months. The distance, the tension, the silence where there used to be laughter. And now this… this subtle, perfectly worded sentence that didn’t feel subtle at all.
Magui had always been there. She had celebrated Oscar’s good races, had hugged YN in paddocks that felt too big and too overwhelming. So this? This felt wrong. Sudden. Two-faced, even. Like something had shifted quietly, and now it was impossible to ignore.
“I’m okay,” she finally said, even though her voice gave her away.
Oscar let out a soft breath on the other end. “You don’t sound like it.”
She sat on the edge of her bed, running a hand through her hair, trying to organize the mess in her head. “It just— it pissed me off. That’s all.”
There was a pause.
“I know,” he said gently. “But don’t let it get bigger than it is.” That was so him. Always calm. Always trying to keep things from exploding.
And that’s when it hit her—he wasn’t okay either, not really.
Mexico hadn’t been easy. The championship slipping through his fingers, the tension inside the team, the silence from people who used to be louder. He was carrying more than he was saying, and she could hear it in the way he chose his words carefully, like he was trying not to add weight to anything.
Her shoulders softened. She exhaled slowly, letting the anger settle somewhere quieter. “Hey…” she said, her tone shifting, softer now. “I didn’t call just to rant.”
“Oh yeah?” he replied, a small smile audible in his voice.
She hesitated for a second, then let it out. “I’m done with classes.”
That got his attention. “Wait—like, done done?”
“Done done,” she said, a faint smile finally appearing. “Which means… I’m free.”
There was a beat of silence. The kind that feels full instead of empty.
“And,” she continued, “I was thinking I could come to the last races. Stay with you. The rest of the season.”
Another pause—this one heavier, but in a different way.
“Are you serious?” he asked, softer now.
“Yeah,” she said. “I don’t want to miss it. Not now.” Not when things felt like they were slipping. Not when he needed someone on his side, even if the rest of the world felt uncertain.
He let out a quiet laugh, the kind that carried relief with it. “I’d like that,” he admitted.
She smiled, this time fully. “Good,” she said. “Because I’m coming anyway.”
And just like that, the tension didn’t disappear—but it shifted. It became something they were holding together, instead of something pulling them apart.
—
Brazil hadn’t gone the way they needed it to.
Lando stood on the top step, soaked in champagne, the crowd loud and alive around him. Oscar had crossed the line in P5—another race where things slipped just enough to matter. Close, but not enough. Again.
From the outside, it should’ve been simple: one side celebrating, the other regrouping. That was racing. But nothing felt simple anymore. Because watching Lando and Magui celebrate didn’t feel neutral. It didn’t feel like before. It felt sharp. Wrong in a way she couldn’t fully explain. And she hated that feeling—hated what it said about her.
She had always sworn she wouldn’t be like that. That she could separate things. That she wouldn’t let the sport bleed into everything else. But Mexico had changed something. That caption had. And now, standing there in Brazil, it all sat heavy in her chest.
Oscar was still in parc fermé when she walked down, passing engineers, media, voices blending into noise. The air felt too full, too charged, like something waiting to snap.
She didn’t notice Magui until their shoulders collided. It wasn’t hard. Barely more than a brush, but it was enough.
Magui turned instantly, already wound tight. “Watch where you’re going,” she snapped, her voice cutting through the noise.
A couple of nearby conversations faltered. Heads turned. Phones shifted just slightly higher.
YN stopped, turning back slowly. “It was an accident.”
It should’ve ended there. It didn’t.
Magui let out a sharp laugh, stepping closer. “Yeah? Because it doesn’t feel like it.” The tension was immediate. Thick. Unavoidable.
“You’ve been acting weird for weeks,” Magui continued, her tone rising just enough to draw more attention. “Maybe own it.”
A few more people looked over now. Murmurs starting—quiet, curious.
YN felt her patience snap. “Or maybe,” she said, her voice lower but colder, “you’ve been saying things you should think about before posting.”
That landed. Magui’s expression changed instantly—something sharper, more defensive. “Oh, so that’s what this is about?” she shot back. “A caption? Seriously?”
“Don’t pretend you don’t know what you meant,” YN replied, stepping forward now without even realizing it.
They were close. Too close.
Someone in the background whispered, “Is that—?”
“Yeah, that’s them—”
“Don’t film—”
Too late.
Magui scoffed, her shoulder knocking into YN again, harder this time. “You’re unbelievable.”
That was it. YN’s hand moved before she could stop herself—not a hit, not yet, but enough that it looked like it could turn into one. Magui reacted just as fast, stepping in, voices overlapping, rising—
And that’s when they stepped in.
“Hey—hey!” Oscar’s arm wrapped around YN from behind, pulling her back against him before anything could actually happen. His grip was firm, protective, one hand at her waist, the other steadying her arm. “Enough,” he murmured, low but urgent, close to her ear.
Across from them, Lando had grabbed Magui’s arm, holding her back as she tried to step forward again. “Magui, stop,” he said, sharper than usual. “Not here.”
But she was still angry, breathing uneven, eyes locked on YN. “You think you’re so perfect—” she started, but Lando cut in again, quieter now but more insistent.
“Not here.”
Around them, the murmurs had grown louder.
“They’re actually fighting—”
“Jesus…”
“This is bad—”
“Cameras are everywhere—”
Oscar didn’t wait any longer. He turned slightly, guiding YN away from the scene, his hand still steady at her waist, creating distance—physical, immediate. “Let’s go,” he said softly.
She didn’t argue this time.
On the other side, Lando was doing the same, steering Magui back, speaking under his breath, trying to calm something that clearly wasn’t ready to settle.
And just like that, they were pulled apart, but the damage was already done, because this time, it hadn’t been whispers or looks or captions, this time, it had been real.
—
—
After a day that felt like it had stretched for weeks, and a night that refused to slow down, Oscar and YN finally made it back to the hotel. The noise of the paddock, the cameras, the whispers—it all felt distant now, like something that had happened to someone else.
They had stopped by a bar with Charles and Alexandra, more out of necessity than desire. A distraction. Something normal. Something that didn’t involve headlines or tension or the weight of everything that had been building for months. For a couple of hours, it had almost worked.
Now, back in the quiet of their room, reality settled in again. They showered in silence, moving around each other in a way that felt familiar, comforting. Routine. Safe.
Oscar finished brushing his teeth first and slipped into bed, the sheets cool against his skin. He leaned back against the pillows, staring up at the ceiling for a moment before turning his head slightly.
YN was still on her phone. The glow of the screen lit up her face as her thumb moved slowly, reading through the flood of replies to her latest story. Some were supportive, others… not so much. “chill girl at a bar kissing her boyfriend like she didn’t just explode in the paddock, icon 💋” “you really chose a man over your best friend… he’ll do the same to you eventually” “this is messy but I’m living for it”
Her expression barely changed, but something in her eyes did. After a second, she locked her phone and set it down on the nightstand, like she didn’t want to see any more. She turned onto her side to face him. “I feel stupid about what happened, Osc,” she said quietly. “I shouldn’t have reacted like that.”
Oscar shifted slightly, turning fully toward her. He didn’t answer right away—just looked at her, really looked at her. The tension in her shoulders, the way her brows were slightly pulled together, the guilt sitting just beneath the surface. He reached out, brushing his thumb gently along her cheek. “Yeah,” he said softly, honest but gentle. “Maybe you shouldn’t have. But… you’re human. And it wasn’t out of nowhere.” His hand lingered there, grounding. “It’s been building for a while. It just… exploded in the worst place possible.”
She let out a quiet breath, her eyes dropping for a second before finding his again. “I can’t believe the way she talked to me,” she murmured. “My best friend… or—” she shook her head slightly, correcting herself, “—she was my best friend. Now it just feels like I don’t even know her.”
Oscar’s expression softened, though there was something tired behind it too. “Things change,” he said. “I just hate that you’re stuck in the middle of all this because of… everything.”
She frowned slightly at that, immediately shaking her head. “No. You didn’t put me in the middle of anything,” she said, more certain now. “She’s the one who pushed me away.”
He hesitated. “But she was your best friend.”
YN held his gaze for a moment, then sighed quietly. “She was,” she said. “Now… I don’t know who she is anymore.”
The room fell quiet after that, not uncomfortable, just heavy with everything that had been said—and everything that hadn’t.
Oscar shifted closer, slipping an arm around her waist and pulling her gently against him. She didn’t resist, settling into his chest like she always did, like it was the one place that still made sense. He pressed a soft kiss to her hair. “Try to get some sleep,” he murmured.
She nodded faintly against him. “Goodnight, Osc.”
“Goodnight,” he replied, his voice quieter now. “I love you.”
A small pause, then; “I love you too.” And for the first time all day, things felt still.

paddockgossip: Margarida Corceiro, partner of Lando Norris, just posted this on her story 👀 Considering the Qatar GP is right around the corner and everything that’s been going on between YN and Magui… plus the tension between Lando and Oscar lately, fans are already reading into it.
“Bad Blood (Taylor’s Version)” is definitely… a choice. Do we think this is a direct shot at YN, or just a coincidence? 👀

The Qatar Grand Prix didn’t feel like a turning point. It felt like time running out.
Oscar could feel it in everything—the way people spoke to him, the way the cameras lingered just a second longer, the way the standings now told a story he couldn’t ignore. Lando ahead. Max right there. Him, still close, but not close enough. Not without something extraordinary.
Second place should’ve felt good. On paper, it was. Another podium, more points, proof that he was still fighting. But it didn’t quiet the noise in his head. It didn’t erase the feeling that, little by little, the championship was slipping away from him. Still, he hadn’t let go. Not yet. Because as long as there was even the smallest chance, he was going to take it.
When he stepped into the cool-down room, the door closing behind him muted everything—the crowd, the media, the chaos. The world outside stayed outside. Inside, it was quiet. And she was there.
YN didn’t hesitate. The moment she saw him, she crossed the room and wrapped her arms around him, tight, like she was holding him together before he could even start falling apart.
Oscar melted into it. His arms came around her just as firmly, pulling her closer, his head dropping slightly against her shoulder. A long, heavy breath left him—one he’d been holding since the last lap, maybe longer. In that moment, he wasn’t thinking about points, or strategy, or what people were saying. Just her. Just them.
For a few seconds, neither of them spoke. They didn’t need to. The silence wasn’t empty—it was full of everything they hadn’t said out loud these past weeks. The pressure. The exhaustion. The fear of losing something he had been so close to.
Oscar pulled back slightly, just enough to look at her, his hands still resting at her waist. “It’s all coming down to Abu Dhabi,” he said quietly. Not dramatic. Just… real.
She held his gaze, steady, calm in a way he needed. “I know.”
There was a small pause before he looked away for a second, jaw tightening slightly.
“I need something big,” he admitted. “Something… almost impossible.”
Her expression softened, but not with pity—with understanding. She reached up, her hand resting gently against his cheek, guiding his attention back to her. “Hey,” she said softly. He looked at her again. “No matter what happens,” she continued, her voice firm in a quiet way, “you and I both know how hard you’ve worked for this.”
He didn’t interrupt. He just listened.
“And I’ll be there,” she added, her thumb brushing lightly against his skin, “no matter the result.”
Something in his expression shifted—just slightly, but enough. Like the weight didn’t disappear… but it wasn’t crushing him anymore.
He leaned forward, resting his forehead against hers, eyes closing for a brief second. That was what he needed. Not predictions. Not pressure. Not expectations. Just that. ust her. Just knowing that, at the end of it all—win or lose—he wouldn’t be alone.

Abu Dhabi felt unreal. Every lap carried something heavy—like the entire season was sitting on top of it. In every garage, people stood still, arms crossed, hands over mouths, nails bitten down to nothing. No one relaxed. No one breathed properly. Because everyone knew. Oscar’s chances were slipping away. Not suddenly. Not dramatically. Just… mathematically. Quietly. Inevitably.
By the time there were three laps left, it was clear. Painfully clear. He needed something that wasn’t coming. A DNF from Lando. Points lost. Chaos. And even then, he needed Max to drop back too.
Everything had to go wrong for everyone else—and perfectly for him. It was impossible. And yet… he kept pushing. Because hope doesn’t disappear all at once. It lingers. It stays, even when it shouldn’t.
[...]
One last lap. Everything, somehow, still felt like it was coming down to this.
Max crossed the line first. The race winner. But not the champion. Not this time.
“Lando Norris, you are the world champion.” The radio message cut through everything.
And just like that, it was over.
The realization spread instantly. Through the garages, through the screens, through the crowd. Lando had done it. After everything—every race, every point, every moment of pressure—he had done enough. He was champion.
And Oscar… Oscar kept driving. Because that’s what you do. Even when you already know the outcome. Even when the fight is over, even when the title is no longer yours to win—you finish the race. He crossed the line seconds later. No fireworks for him. No explosion of celebration. Just the quiet understanding of what had slipped away.
It hadn’t been one moment. Not one mistake. Not one race. It had been everything. And now, there was nothing left to do but accept it.
[...]
Oscar pulled into parc fermé with the result already settled in his mind.
There was no shock, no last-minute hope clinging on. Just acceptance. He had done everything he could—and it hadn’t been enough for the title.
He switched off the engine and sat there for a second, hands still on the wheel, breathing steady. The noise outside was loud—cheers, celebrations, the unmistakable sound of a championship being won.
He took a breath, then moved. Out of the car. Helmet off. Gloves off. And this time, when he smiled, it was real, not wide, not overwhelming, but honest. Because deep down, he knew something important: he had given everything. Every race, every lap, every decision—there was nothing left to regret.
Across the garage, Lando’s side had erupted. Cheers, champagne, people jumping, shouting, celebrating history. Oscar glanced over for a second, just long enough to register it, before turning away.
That wasn’t his moment. But this still could be.
He walked toward his family, and the second his mum reached him, she pulled him into a tight hug. His sisters followed right after, surrounding him, voices full of pride, of warmth, of something that didn’t depend on a championship.
“You did amazing.”
“We’re so proud of you.”
And he believed them.
He let himself stay there for a moment, in that warmth, in that certainty. Because that—right there—was real. Not standings, not points. Just people who had seen everything he’d done and still looked at him like he had won.
A few steps behind, YN watched quietly, a small smile on her lips. Not forced, not careful—just soft, proud.
When his family finally let him go, they didn’t say anything else. They didn’t need to. They knew him well enough to understand.
He turned, and his eyes found her immediately.
She didn’t wait. The second he reached her, she wrapped her arms around him, and he held her just as tightly, pulling her close like it was the most natural thing in the world. No rush. No tension. Just… them.
For a moment, neither of them spoke. They didn’t need to. Everything that had led to this point—the pressure, the doubts, the noise—it all felt distant standing there with her.
“I’m proud of you,” she whispered softly.
He smiled against her shoulder, a quiet exhale leaving him. “I know,” he murmured.
She pulled back just enough to look at him, studying his face like she needed to be sure. “You gave everything,” she said.
“I did,” he nodded, and there was no frustration in it. Just certainty.
“And that’s enough.” It was.
He leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to her cheek before resting his forehead briefly against hers. “Thank you,” he said quietly.
“For what?”
“For being here.”
She smiled. “Always.”
And for the first time all night, nothing felt heavy. He hadn’t won the championship. But he wasn’t broken. He wasn’t angry. He was… at peace. Because he knew who he was, what he had done, and who he had beside him. And somehow, that made it enough.
[...]
Oscar didn’t hesitate. The moment he spotted Lando across the chaos—surrounded by his family, by Magui, by everything that came with finally winning—he walked straight toward him. No cameras mattered. No tension. No past races. Just that moment.
“Hey,” Oscar said, a small smile forming.
Lando turned, and for a second, it was just recognition. Then something softer. “Hey.”
And then they hugged. Not quick, not polite—real.
The kind of hug that said more than anything either of them could’ve put into words. Weeks of pressure, of competition, of everything that had built up between them… gone, if only for a moment.
“Congrats,” Oscar said quietly.
“Thanks,” Lando replied, just as soft.
And just like that, it felt simple again.
Because the truth was—it had never really been them. Not fully. It had been everything around them. The team. The expectations. The decisions that slowly, quietly pulled them apart. But standing there now, none of that seemed to matter as much. They were just two drivers who had pushed each other to the limit. And one of them had won.
A few steps away, the distance still remained.
Magui stood slightly behind, watching. Not the celebration. Not the cameras. YN.
Cisca noticed immediately. She followed her gaze, then gently placed an arm around Magui’s shoulders, pulling her just a little closer. “She was your best friend, wasn’t she?” she asked softly.
Magui didn’t answer right away. Her eyes stayed on YN for a moment longer before she nodded, a small, almost nostalgic smile forming. “Since we were kids,” she said quietly. “I used to go to her house all the time… we’d just sit there listening to Justin Bieber, One Direction…” A soft breath escaped her, something between a laugh and a sigh. “Feels like a different life.”
Cisca hummed gently, understanding. “The championship’s over,” she said after a moment. “I don’t see why you two couldn’t talk now.”
Magui glanced at her.
Across the paddock, Oscar and Lando were still standing close, talking like everything between them had settled.
“And look at them,” Cisca added softly. “They’re doing it. And they haven’t known each other their whole lives.”
Magui’s expression shifted slightly. “It’s not that easy,” she admitted. “I messed up… a lot.” Her voice dropped on the last words, quieter, more honest than she’d been in a while. “I don’t even know if it’s the right time.”
Cisca gave her shoulder a gentle squeeze. “Maybe there’s never a perfect time,” she said. “But that’s okay.” She turned her head slightly to look at her. “I’m not going to push you. But when you feel ready… you should try.”
Magui looked back at YN again. Still there. Still familiar. Still… hers, in a way that hadn’t completely disappeared. “Okay,” she murmured softly.
“Just… when you’re ready,” Cisca added.
Magui nodded, her gaze lingering just a second longer. “Yeah.”

The hall in Tashkent was everything Oscar disliked about nights like this—too bright, too formal, too polished. Crystal chandeliers hung overhead, cameras flashing at every angle, voices blending into a constant hum that never really faded.
The FIA Annual Gala.
And yet, he was there with her.
YN walked beside him, fingers loosely intertwined with his, her thumb brushing softly against his skin in a quiet, grounding gesture. To anyone watching, they looked exactly as expected—elegant, composed, perfectly in place.
But the truth was simpler. Neither of them wanted to be there.
Oscar had never been the type for events like this. The speeches, the attention, the forced smiles—it all felt distant from the only place that ever truly made sense to him: the car. And YN… she would have traded the entire night in a heartbeat for staying in bed, sharing sushi and watching some cliché movie she’d pretend not to love.
Still, they showed up. Because this was part of it.
They moved through the room together, stopping every few steps—greetings, handshakes, brief conversations with drivers, engineers, familiar faces from a season that had taken more out of them than either would admit out loud. Congratulations were exchanged, shoulders were squeezed, small jokes were shared.
Oscar handled it effortlessly, as always.
YN stayed close, offering soft smiles, nodding when needed, her presence steady at his side.
Eventually, they reached their table. And, as expected, they weren’t alone. Lando and Magui were already there.
There was a brief pause—not obvious to anyone else, but enough to be felt. Then everything kept moving.
Oscar greeted Lando like nothing had ever been broken between them. Easy, natural, like the weight of the season had finally slipped off their shoulders. Their conversation picked up quickly, falling back into something familiar. Lando laughed, leaning back slightly, more relaxed than he had been in months.
Whatever had been strained between them… it wasn’t gone entirely, but it wasn’t sharp anymore. It was manageable.
On the other side of the table, the air felt different. YN adjusted slightly in her seat, smoothing her dress in a small, unconscious movement. Across from her, Magui shifted too, her fingers tapping lightly against her glass before stilling again. Their eyes met for a fraction of a second. Then moved away. No words. No confrontation. Just the quiet awareness of everything that hadn’t been said.
The room filled with soft music as people settled into their seats. Glasses clinked. Conversations lowered into murmurs as the event began.
Oscar’s hand found YN’s under the table, his fingers lacing through hers without looking away from his conversation. A silent gesture. I’m here.
She squeezed back gently. I know.
Across from them, Magui noticed. And for a moment—just a brief, almost unnoticeable moment—her expression softened. Not fully, not enough to change anything. But enough to show that maybe… not everything was as broken as it once felt.
The lights dimmed slightly as the stage illuminated. The gala was beginning. And for the first time in a while, everything felt… quiet.
[...]
The night had gone on exactly as expected. Laughter filled the room, champagne flowed endlessly, and applause followed every mention of Lando’s name. It was official now—undeniable. He was the world champion. And somehow, after everything, it didn’t feel tense anymore. Just… done.
By the time the gala came to an end, the energy had softened. People lingered a little longer, finishing conversations, exchanging last congratulations before slowly making their way out. Oscar and YN didn’t stay much longer. They said their goodbyes—simple, polite—and slipped out together, the noise fading behind them as they stepped into the cool night air.
On the way back to the hotel, they made a quick stop. Fast food. Nothing fancy. Just something warm and easy, something that felt real after hours of formality.
Back in the room, everything fell into place naturally. Showers. Pajamas. Damp hair and comfortable silence.
They settled in front of the TV, food spread between them, some random movie playing—one of those slow, overly emotional ones Oscar always claimed were “boring.” He said it every time. And every time, he ended up watching it anyway.
“You know nothing’s happened in like twenty minutes, right?” he muttered, reaching for another fry.
YN rolled her eyes, smiling slightly. “Shh, it’s building.”
He huffed a quiet laugh but didn’t look away. Of course he didn’t.
The room felt warm. Quiet. Safe in a way the rest of the world hadn’t been in months.
And then, her phone rang. Not a notification. A call.
The sound cut through the moment instantly, sharper this time. YN reached for it, glancing at the screen—and froze.
Margarida.
For a second, she didn’t move. Then she turned the phone slightly, showing it to Oscar. He looked at the name, then back at her, still chewing on a fry, expression calm but attentive. “What are you gonna do?” he asked.
YN stared at the screen, the ringing continuing, filling the space between them. “I think… I’m gonna answer,” she said quietly.
Oscar nodded once. “Okay.” No pressure. No questions. Just trust.
She stood up, phone still in her hand, and walked toward the balcony, sliding the door open just enough to step outside. The cool night air hit her immediately, a contrast to the warmth inside. The ringing hadn’t stopped. She looked at the screen one more time. Then answered.

And just like that, in a small, quiet restaurant tucked away in Monaco, everything that had been building for months finally found its way out. No cameras. No whispers. No expectations. Just them.
They didn’t talk about the noise first—the rumors, the posts, the looks across crowded paddocks. They talked about what actually mattered. About the things that hurt, the things that were said, and especially the things that weren’t.
Because at the end of it all, beneath the pride, the distance, and the chaos… there was something that had never really disappeared. Each other. It didn’t matter how many new people had come into their lives, how much things had changed, or how different everything looked from the outside now. There were years between them—years of growing up side by side, of inside jokes no one else would ever understand, of a bond that wasn’t built overnight and couldn’t be erased that easily either.
And yes, they had both made mistakes. They had both said things they couldn’t take back, reacted in ways they probably regretted, let emotions take over when they should’ve just been honest. Maybe, at some point, neither of them deserved an apology from the other.
But that wasn’t really the point anymore.
Because forgiveness, real forgiveness, was never about who was right or wrong. It was about choosing each other anyway. About deciding that what they had was worth more than their pride, more than the distance, more than the damage.
And somehow, between quiet words, heavy silences, and the kind of honesty that only comes when there’s nothing left to hide, they found that balance again. Not perfect. Not like before. But real.
So yes—after everything, after all the chaos and all the hurt— They were still friends. And this time, maybe, they understood exactly what that meant.

Could you please make an Smau with Oscar when you two met trough Magui as she’s you’re best friend and in the beginning it was fun dating you’re best friends boyfriend teammate but when Lando and Oscars friendship gets cracks in the heat of the season you’re and Maguis friendship also suffers as you stand between you’re partners and friendships but when Oscar and Lando Crash in an Race fighting for the win it only gets worse and soon afterwards you start ignoring each other and unfollowing each other on social media. And the people on Twitter can’t help themselves but comment how sad it is what happened with you’re friendship and wondering if Magui regrets introducing you to Oscar.Much Love❤️
Face claim: Olivia Ponton
ARE WE STILL FRIENDS? — oscar piastri x magui's friend reader. lando norris x magui corceiro.
summary: You were hers first.
WARNINGS: this story contains angst, tension between friends, miscommunication, social media drama, and some emotional conflict. there are also mentions of racing incidents and team dynamics that are purely fictional.
ephie's radio: after months of not posting anything, I finally got to finish this 😭 this is based on a request, so I really hope you like it!! I’ll try to upload part two tomorrow <3 also sorry if it’s kinda long, I just wanted to give you something worth the wait 🫶 BUT GUESS WHO GOT ACCEPTED INTO UNI!!! 🥹🎉 I also want to say that I have nothing against lando (or anyone mentioned), this is purely fictional. I was inspired by things I saw on tiktok at the time, but this is NOT meant to reflect real life in any way.no hate to anyone, just storytelling.

YN locked her phone the second Magui’s message ended, the screen going dark in her hands as she exhaled softly. For a moment, she just stood there, letting the noise of the paddock fade into the background, before walking over to where Oscar stood with his family.
His sisters were talking about something she didn’t quite catch, laughter light in the air, and his mum had that calm, warm smile she always carried. It was comforting—normal, almost—as if the chaos of the race hadn’t happened just hours ago.
Hattie noticed her first. “Ready?” she asked gently.
YN nodded, offering a small smile.
The group made their way to the cars, goodbyes and soft chatter filling the space between them. Oscar stayed quiet, hands in his pockets, head slightly lowered—not in defeat, but in that way he had when he was thinking too much.
They split into two cars.
As soon as they got into theirs, the silence settled in.
Oscar reached for his seatbelt, clicking it into place without a word. Oscar didn’t start the engine right away. She turned slightly in her seat, watching him—really watching him.
“Are you okay?” she asked softly.
He nodded almost immediately. “Yeah. I’m fine.”
She tilted her head just a little, studying him. Anyone else might’ve believed him. But she knew him too well. “No, you’re not.”
He let out a small breath through his nose, eyes fixed somewhere ahead, like if he just didn’t look at her, he wouldn’t have to explain anything. “It’s nothing,” he muttered.
YN smiled faintly, not in amusement, but in understanding. She reached over, gently taking his hand, her thumb brushing over his knuckles. “You know you can tell me anything, right?” she said quietly. “I’m never going to judge you. And with me… you don’t have to be that cold, composed guy everyone thinks you are.”
She squeezed his hand just a little. “With me, you’re just Osc.”
That made him look at her. Really look at her.
For a second, something in his expression shifted—like the weight he’d been holding all day cracked just enough to let something real through.
“It just—” he started, then stopped, shaking his head slightly. “Home race, you know? I wanted it to go differently.”
“I know,” she said softly.
“I messed up,” he added, quieter this time. “And I could feel it slipping away and there was nothing I could do about it.”
YN didn’t rush to fill the silence that followed. She just listened, her hand still in his. “You didn’t mess up,” she said after a moment. “You had a bad moment. That’s not the same thing.”
He huffed a small laugh, not fully convinced. “It feels like it is.”
“Maybe,” she shrugged gently. “But one race doesn’t define you. Not to me… and not to the people who actually matter.”
He stayed quiet again, but this time it wasn’t heavy. Just thoughtful.
YN leaned a little closer, resting her head briefly against his shoulder. “And for what it’s worth,” she added softly, “I’m still ridiculously proud of you.”
That earned her a small smile.
“Even after that?” he teased, faint but real.
“Especially after that,” she said. “Because I know how much you care.”
He squeezed her hand this time. “Thanks,” he murmured.
She pulled back slightly, giving him one last soft look before he finally turning the key in the ignition. The car hummed to life, filling the quiet space between them.
“C’mon,” she said lightly. “Your family’s waiting for us.”
Oscar nodded, glancing at her once more before looking ahead, something steadier in his expression now.
And as they pulled away, Melbourne lights stretching out in front of them, the weight of the day didn’t feel quite as heavy anymore.

Sunday, April 5th.
YN had landed in Japan the night before.
The city had been quiet in a way she hadn’t expected—soft lights, unfamiliar streets, the kind of calm that didn’t quite match the chaos she knew was waiting at Suzuka. She checked into her hotel late, suitcase still half-open on the floor, clothes spilling out in a rush she didn’t bother fixing.
She hadn’t gone to the paddock. Not yet. If she was going to do this, she wanted it to be right.
Oscar hadn’t suspected a thing.
He had called her the night before, though. His voice softer than usual, quieter around the edges.
“Hey… you okay?” he had asked.
And she was. Just not in the way he thought.
She told him she had a few things to sort out, that uni had been a lot, that she’d been busy. None of it was a lie—but it wasn’t the truth either.
He didn’t push. He never did.
Still, when they hung up, she could feel it, the small distance, the confusion he didn’t say out loud. And it sat with her all night.
Sunday came quickly. Suzuka was alive.
The paddock buzzed with movement—engineers rushing through briefings, cameras flashing, voices overlapping in a constant hum that never really stopped. McLaren’s garage was no different, except today, there was something else underneath it all.
A quiet kind of anticipation. A secret.
Zak and Andrea Stella stood near the center, holding a cake that looked slightly too perfect for a place like this. The team gathered around, a few laughs slipping through before they started singing.
“Happy birthday to you…”
Oscar stood there, hands tucked slightly into his sides, that familiar small smile on his face. Not too big, never too much—but real. It reached his eyes, just a little.
His family stood close—his mum, his sisters, their laughter brighter, warmer. His dad and stepdad beside them, all of them there.
Everyone who mattered. Everyone except her. And he felt it. Not enough to ruin the moment—but enough to notice the space she would’ve filled without even trying.
The song ended, applause echoing softly through the garage.
Hattie stepped forward, smiling. “Make a wish!”
Oscar looked down at the cake, at the flickering candle, the tiny flame dancing like it had something to say.
He didn’t need to think too hard. It wasn’t about the race. Not really. Of course, winning at home—or here, in a place this special—would’ve meant something. But that wasn’t the first thing that came to mind.
It was her. Just… her. Seeing her. Hearing her. Not through a screen, not through short calls between time zones. Just having her there.
He exhaled softly and blew out the candle. Applause filled the space again.
Lando was the first to step forward, a grin already pulling at his lips. “Okay,” he said, clapping Oscar lightly on the shoulder. “Magui and I got you something.”
Oscar raised an eyebrow, amused. “That sounds concerning.”
“It’s not the biggest, most expensive gift in the world,” Lando continued, pausing just long enough to smirk, “well—actually, it kind of is. But it’s… special.”
Oscar huffed a quiet laugh. “Right.”
“Just—turn around,” Lando added, gesturing behind him.
Oscar frowned slightly, confused, but did it anyway.
For a second, there was nothing.
Just the usual blur of the garage, people moving, colors blending together... And then: Her. Standing just a few steps away.
A little out of breath, like she’d rushed the last few seconds. Hair slightly messy, eyes already locked on his. A small, nervous smile on her lips, like she wasn’t entirely sure how he’d react.
“Hi,” she said softly.
Everything else faded. The noise. The people. The cameras. All of it.
Oscar just stared at her for a second, like his brain needed time to catch up with what his eyes were seeing.
“…what?” he breathed out, almost laughing in disbelief.
YN took a small step forward. “Happy birthday, Osc.” That was all it took.
He closed the distance between them in seconds, pulling her into him like he’d been holding that moment in for days. Arms tight around her, like letting go wasn’t an option.
“You’re here,” he said, voice low, almost disbelieving against her hair.
“I told you I had things to do,” she murmured, smiling against his shoulder.
He pulled back just enough to look at her, hands still on her arms like he needed to make sure she was real.
“You flew all the way here… after your exam?”
She shrugged lightly. “Maybe.”
Oscar shook his head, a laugh escaping him—soft, warm, full in a way it hadn’t been all weekend. “You’re insane.”
“You love it.”
“I do,” he admitted instantly. And then, softer “I missed you.”
Her expression melted just a little. “I know,” she said. “I’m here now.”
Behind them, the team had gone quiet for a moment—watching, smiling, some pretending not to. Lando clapped once, breaking the spell.
“Okay, that was disgustingly cute,” he said. “Can we eat the cake now or—?”
Magui laughed somewhere behind him, and just like that, the noise came back.
But for Oscar, none of it mattered quite as much anymore.
Because this time... She was right there.

Imola.
YN had arrived a day later than everyone else.
By the time she stepped into the paddock, everything was already in motion—engineers moving with purpose, cameras flashing, voices overlapping in a constant rhythm that somehow never felt chaotic, just… alive.
She adjusted her sunglasses slightly as she walked, trying to ignore the way the place always made her feel. Like she belonged. And at the same time… like she didn’t.
Still, she moved through it naturally, greeting familiar faces, offering soft smiles, slipping into that world as if it had quietly made space for her.
When she reached McLaren’s hospitality, she barely had time to take a breath before— “YN Y/L/N—” Magui’s voice cut through the noise, dramatic as always.
Before YN could even react, Magui was already in front of her. “I cannot believe you didn’t tell me you were coming,” she said, placing a hand over her chest like she’d been personally betrayed.
YN laughed, raising her hands in surrender. “I’m sorry,” she said, stepping closer. “I genuinely forgot. I’ve been drowning in assignments—I had to finish everything just to get this weekend off.”
Magui narrowed her eyes, unimpressed. “You forgot to tell me you were flying to Italy?”
“…yes?”
“That’s insane.”
“I know.”
Magui tried to stay serious for another second—she really did—but then she broke, pulling YN into a quick hug. “I missed you,” she muttered.
“I missed you more,” YN smiled against her. And for a moment, everything felt light again. Normal. But only for a moment. Because just a few steps behind them— Oscar had been watching. He hadn’t interrupted. Hadn’t said anything. Just… watched.
And the second YN pulled away from Magui, his eyes met hers. There it was. That look. The one that softened instantly when it was her.
He stepped forward without hesitation, closing the distance between them like it was the most natural thing in the world. His hand found her waist, steady, familiar—pulling her just slightly away from the chaos around them.
“Can we talk?” he asked, voice low.
YN nodded without thinking. “Of course.”
She leaned in, pressing a soft kiss to his lips—quick, gentle, like something just for them—before letting him guide her away from the noise, away from everyone else.
They stopped just outside, where things were quieter. For the first time since she arrived, it felt like the world slowed down.
She looked at him, studying his face. Something was off. Not obvious. Not loud. But there. “What’s wrong?” she asked softly. “Is it something bad?”
Oscar shook his head slightly. “No… not really.” He ran a hand through his hair, glancing away for a second before looking back at her. “It’s just—” he paused, choosing his words carefully. “I overheard something in Saudi.”
YN frowned. “What do you mean?”
He exhaled quietly. “You know how things work,” he said. “I’m the second driver. That doesn’t just disappear because I’m doing well.”
Her expression shifted, more serious now. “Oscar…”
“I’m leading the championship,” he continued, voice calm but edged with something deeper. “But that doesn’t mean the team suddenly changes how they see things.”
“And what did you hear?” she asked, stepping a little closer.
“That if something goes wrong—anything—the priority shifts,” he said. “And it won’t be me.”
The words sat between them, heavier than he intended.
YN’s chest tightened slightly. “And you think they won’t back you?” she asked.
“I think…” he hesitated. “I think they’ll do what’s safest for them.”
She searched his face, trying to understand how much of this was doubt… and how much was reality. “And Lando?” she asked carefully.
Oscar shook his head almost immediately. “No. This isn’t about him.” And he meant it.
“I’m not going to turn this into something it’s not,” he added. “We’re good. We’ve always been good.”
He looked at her then—really looked at her. “And you and Magui…”
YN stayed quiet, but she understood. “You don’t want this to affect anything,” she finished softly.
“I don’t want us to be in the middle of something messy,” he said. There it was. Not fear. Just… caution.
She reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers. “We won’t be,” she said firmly. “Whatever happens on track… stays there.”
He held her gaze for a second, like he was grounding himself in her words. “And we’ll be okay,” she added, softer now. “You and me.”
Something in him eased, just slightly. He squeezed her hand. “I know.”
A small silence settled between them—not uncomfortable, just… real.
Then she tilted her head, a faint smile returning.
“Now,” she said, nudging him lightly, “are you going to keep overthinking, or are you going to go be the championship leader you are?”
He let out a quiet laugh. “There she is.”
“Always,” she smiled.
And for a second, just a second— Everything felt simple again. Even if they both knew it wouldn’t stay that way for long.

YN dropped her phone onto the mattress and turned onto her side, facing away from the screen, from everything.
The room was dim, lit only by the soft glow of the city outside—the kind of light that slipped through the curtains and painted everything in gold and shadow. Beside her, Oscar had been scrolling through his phone, but the moment he heard her sigh—long, heavy, the kind that meant something—he stopped. Completely. His attention shifted to her instantly.
“You okay?” he asked quietly. His voice was softer now, stripped of everything else. Just for her.
YN shook her head against the pillow. “Magui’s upset,” she muttered, her voice tired more than anything. “Because apparently I was enjoying your podium too much.” There was a small pause. “Can you believe how stupid that sounds?”
Oscar didn’t answer right away.
Instead, he locked his phone and set it aside, turning his body slightly toward her. The faint light from outside traced the outline of his face, his expression unreadable for a second.
“It doesn’t sound stupid,” he said finally, calm.
YN frowned, turning her head to look at him. “Excuse me?”
He held her gaze, steady. “It sounds like she’s hurt.”
That only made her sit up a little, frustration bubbling back up.
“And I’m not?” she shot back. “I’m literally stuck in the middle of this, Osc. I’m trying to be there for her, but I’m also—” she gestured toward him, “—here. With you.” Her voice softened slightly at the end.
Oscar’s eyes dropped for a second, his jaw tightening just a little. “I know,” he said.
“And I am trying,” she continued, running a hand through her hair. “But what does she want me to do? Ignore you? Not celebrate? Pretend I don’t care?”
“You don’t have to do that,” he replied quickly.
YN let out a breath, shaking her head. “Then what? Because right now it feels like no matter what I do, I’m doing it wrong for someone.”
Silence settled between them. Not uncomfortable but heavy.
Oscar shifted closer, his hand finding her arm, thumb brushing lightly over her skin in a quiet attempt to ground her. “You didn’t do anything wrong,” he said. And he meant it.
YN looked at him, searching his face. “But it doesn’t feel like that,” she admitted.
He studied her for a moment, then sighed softly. “This is what happens when things get… complicated,” he said.
She let out a small, humorless laugh. “That’s one way to put it.”
Another pause.
The city hummed outside. Cars passing, distant voices, life continuing, even when theirs felt stuck in this strange, fragile moment.
“I don’t want this to mess things up between you and her,” Oscar added after a moment, quieter now.
YN’s expression softened immediately. “It’s not your fault,” she said.
“I know,” he replied, just as softly. “But it still affects you. And that… affects me.”
That made her chest tighten. She shifted closer without thinking, resting her head lightly against his shoulder. “I hate this,” she murmured.
“Me too.”
For a moment, neither of them said anything. They just stayed there. Close. Trying to make sense of something that didn’t really have a clear answer.
After a while, Oscar leaned his head gently against hers. “You can’t fix everything at once,” he said.
YN sighed. “I know.”
“But you don’t have to choose tonight,” he added.
That made her close her eyes for a second. Because that was exactly what it felt like. Like she had to choose.
Slowly, she intertwined her fingers with his, holding onto him a little tighter. “Stay with me?” she whispered.
Oscar didn’t even hesitate. “Always.”
And for now? That was enough.

ILLICIT AFFAIRS — charles leclerc x fem!reader.
summary: to the world, Charles Leclerc is perfection incarnate — polished smiles, steady hands, devotion worn like a tailored suit. A man praised for loyalty, promised to a future as pristine as his public image.
She was never supposed to be part of the wreckage.
YN YL — global sensation, six years younger, once the child who trailed after him like sunlight through Monaco corridors. The girl who felt like the little sister he never had. Time, however, is a quiet traitor. Children grow. Glances linger. Lines blur.
Now she belongs to someone else — publicly, beautifully — the girlfriend of Louis Partridge, the kind of man who fits beside her in photographs.
But one night — a bachelor party, too much champagne, music too loud to hear his conscience — Charles ends up at her door. He shouldn’t. He knows he shouldn’t.
That is the thing's first rule.
After that come the cities. The penthouse suites paid in secrecy. The elevators that never speak. Fights in underground parking lots where headlights slice through words they don’t mean. Stolen hours. Shaking hands. Promises neither of them believes.
Because what else can illicit affairs be, if not beautiful disasters already written in invisible ink?
ephie's radio: content warnings: infidelity, emotional cheating, angst, jealousy, moral conflict, complicated relationships, implied mature themes, a lot written . there will probably be a second part. also, I’m sorry if some parts feel a little inconsistent or messy, and english isn’t my first language. thank you for reading and being patient with me. 🤍

fan06: y’all remember that interview where Charles said she was “family”? yeah. okay. sure.
fan07: yn being maid of honor is either adorable or the start of a movie that ends badly
fan08: the way he replied to her before half the grid 💀 priority is LOUD
fan09: alex is so classy though, queen behavior
fan10: yn, charles AND louis all in one place oh this is messy already
fan11: the crossover of worlds here is insane

Charles Leclerc woke before the sun had fully decided to exist.
Morning in Monaco was still half-asleep, the horizon painted in that fragile shade between night and confession, and he moved through it like a man already guilty. He didn’t leave a note. Didn’t say goodbye. Didn’t let himself think about the ring resting somewhere behind him in that quiet apartment. He only took his keys, the low metallic purr of his Ferrari slicing the silence, and drove.
The city blurred. Streets, lights, strangers — all of it dissolved into one thought with a name.
Her.
On the passenger seat rested peace offerings that looked almost absurd in their tenderness: her favorite flowers, still jeweled with dew; a box heavy with the expensive makeup she loved, colors chosen with the precision of someone who knew exactly how her face changed when she smiled, when she argued, when she pretended not to care. Anyone else would have said she had no right to be angry. Anyone else didn’t understand that whatever lived between them had never obeyed the rules other people lived by.
Because it had always been strange the way she watched his girlfriends, polite but sharp around the edges. The way he studied her boyfriends, friendly but never warm. Like two monarchs smiling across a border neither of them acknowledged drawing.
By the time he reached her building, his heartbeat had taken on the rhythm of a countdown.
He stepped out, flowers in one hand, the small velvet-lined bag in the other, and crossed the distance to her door. For a second — just one — he hesitated. Not out of doubt.
Out of recognition.
Some doors, once knocked on, never close the same way again.
He lifted his hand. Knocked.
The sound echoed softly inside.
Footsteps approached. Slow. Bare. Unhurried in a way that felt deliberate, like she already knew exactly who stood on the other side.
The door opened. And she looked at him.
Not surprised — that would’ve been easier. Not angry, either, though the faint tension in her jaw suggested the feeling hadn’t gone far. She looked at him the way one looks at a storm seen from a balcony: aware it might pass, aware it might not, aware it might rearrange everything if it chose to stay.
Barefoot. Sleep-rumpled. Wrapped in one of those soft sweaters that always seemed to slip off one shoulder as if fabric itself wanted to linger on her skin. Her hair was loose, slightly tangled, the way it only ever was when she hadn’t expected anyone to see her.
He forgot, briefly, how breathing worked.
“Hi,” he said. It came out quieter than he intended, like the word itself was afraid of her.
Her eyes dropped — not to his face, but to his hands.
The flowers.
The box.
The apology he hadn’t spoken yet.
“You came,” she said.
Not warm. Not cold. Just… stated. Like a fact written in ink long before this morning.
“You didn’t say not to.”
“I didn’t say yes.”
“But you didn’t lock the door either.”
A pause.
Her gaze lifted back to his, and there it was — that look. The one that had undone him since she was small enough to hold his finger instead of his attention. It was dangerous now. Not childish. Not harmless. It carried questions. Accusations. Memories. Things that did not belong in the space between an engaged man and the girl he was not supposed to orbit.
“You shouldn’t be here,” she murmured.
“I know.”
He didn’t move to leave.
Silence slipped between them, thin and electric. Somewhere down the hall a clock ticked, absurdly loud, like time itself had stopped to eavesdrop.
He held out the flowers first.
“They’re your favorites.”
“I know,” she said. She didn’t take them.
His hand hovered there a second longer before he lowered it slightly, the petals trembling from the motion. He tried again, lifting the small box.
“And these.”
Her eyes narrowed a fraction. “Bribery?”
“Peace offering.”
“You announced an engagement, not a war.”
“Felt like one.”
That — that almost did it. The corner of her mouth twitched, betraying the ghost of a smile she clearly hadn’t authorized. She looked away quickly, as if afraid he’d see it and claim victory.
“You woke up early just to come negotiate?” she asked.
“I didn’t sleep.”
That made her glance back. Not dramatically. Not softly. Just instinctively — the way you look at something fragile when you didn’t expect it to be.
“You’re dramatic,” she said, quieter now.
“You’re mad.”
“I have reasons.”
“I know.”
Another silence. Softer this time. Less like a blade, more like a held breath.
He shifted his weight, eyes searching her face the way one reads a language they never formally learned but somehow understand anyway.
“Are you going to let me in,” he asked gently, “or are we doing this in the hallway like strangers?”
Her fingers tightened slightly on the edge of the door.
They both knew that word didn’t belong to them.
Strangers.
She exhaled through her nose — a small, steadying breath — then stepped back.
Not an invitation.
Not quite.
But enough.
The door opened wider.
And that was always the problem with them: neither of them ever knew how to close anything.
She didn’t close the door behind him.
It stayed slightly ajar, as if the apartment itself wanted a way out in case this turned into something dangerous.
Charles stepped inside slowly, careful, like the air might shatter if he moved too fast. Her place smelled the same — vanilla, expensive powders, something faintly floral — a scent he associated with late nights, quiet laughter, and conversations that had always gone a little too far for what they were supposed to be.
She crossed her arms.
Not defensive.
Anchoring.
“Well,” she said, “you’re here. Congratulations. You’ve successfully invaded my morning.”
“I brought gifts.”
“I saw. You think flowers can fix everything.”
“No,” he said softly. “Just… start a conversation.”
Her eyes flicked to the bouquet again. Then to him.
“You already started one yesterday.”
“And you ended it.”
“Because you were being impossible.”
“I’m always impossible with you.”
“That’s not the compliment you think it is.”
Silence.
Not empty — never empty with them. Silence with them was crowded. With memories. With almosts. With sentences neither of them let themselves finish.
He swallowed once.
Then, carefully, like he was placing something fragile between them instead of words:
“I want you to be her maid of honor.”
The sentence didn’t echo.
It dropped.
Her expression didn’t change right away — which was worse than if it had. Stillness spread across her face, smooth and composed and terrifyingly unreadable.
“…What?”
“At the wedding,” he said. “I want you beside her. Helping her. Planning with her. I want you there for everything.”
Her laugh came out soft. Soft — but sharp enough to cut glass.
“You came all the way here to ask me to help plan your wedding.”
“I came to ask you to be part of it.”
“I am part of it,” she said lightly. “I commented. Remember?”
“That’s not what I mean.”
“I know exactly what you mean.”
Her gaze lifted fully to his now, and there it was again — that look. The one that always made him feel like he was being seen down to the bone, every hidden thought dragged gently but mercilessly into daylight.
“You want me,” she said, “to stand next to your fiancée… and help her marry you.”
“Yes.” No hesitation. No apology. Just yes.
Her jaw tightened slightly. “That’s cruel.”
“It’s honest.”
“It’s torture.”
“It’s trust.”
That made her blink.
He stepped closer — not enough to touch, never enough to cross that invisible line they both pretended was still intact, but close enough that his voice didn’t have to be loud.
“She likes you,” he said. “She trusts you. And I…”
He paused. “…I need you there.”
Her throat moved as she swallowed.
“You have a whole world of people who adore you. Designers, planners, friends, family. Why me?”
Because you’re the only one whose opinion has ever mattered.
He didn’t say it. Instead:
“Because you see things other people don’t.”
She held his gaze. “And what exactly do I see, Charles?”
He didn’t answer.
Didn’t need to.
They both knew.
Her fingers curled slowly against her sleeve. “You’re asking a lot.”
“I know.”
“You’re asking me to smile. To help pick flowers. To zip her dress. To hold her bouquet. To stand there while she walks toward you.”
Each image landed between them like a step closer to something neither of them wanted to name.
“Yes,” he said quietly.
She searched his face for hesitation.
Found none.
“That’s selfish.”
“I told you,” he murmured, “I’m impossible with you.”
Another silence.
Longer this time.
Quieter.
Dangerous.
Finally, she looked away first.
“…If I say yes,” she said, “it’s for her. Not for you.”
“I know.”
“And you don’t get to look at me like you’re relieved.”
“I’m not relieved.”
“No?”
“I’m terrified.”
That pulled her eyes back to his.
“Of what?”
“You,” he said.
Not joking.
Not flirting.
Not hiding.
Just true.
Her breath caught — barely, but he saw it. He always saw it.
“You should be,” she whispered.
He nodded once.
“I am.”
Another pause.
Then, softer:
“So,” he asked, “will you do it?”
She stared at him for a long moment.
Long enough that the morning light shifted across the floor. Long enough that the flowers in his hand tilted slightly toward her, petals brushing her wrist.
Long enough for both of them to realize this answer would change something they could never change back.
“…Fine,” she said at last.
Not gentle. Not easy.
Just inevitable.
“I’ll do it.”
And somehow, that yes felt far more dangerous than if she’d said no.

Bachelor party.
She had survived the months the way people survive slow winters — quietly, stiffly, pretending the cold didn’t hurt.
Every ribbon she tied, every flower she approved, every seating chart she adjusted had been another careful stitch in the dress of a wedding that wasn’t hers. And she had smiled through all of it, because loving him had never required permission, and losing him had never required a choice. It had simply… happened.
It wasn’t that her heart belonged to the past. It didn’t. Not entirely. Because Louis — sweet, patient, golden Louis — was everything gentleness was supposed to look like when it took human form. He loved her like she was something steady, something safe, something he had chosen and would keep choosing. He laughed at her worst jokes, held doors open even when she told him not to, listened like her thoughts were symphonies instead of scattered notes. Perfection didn’t exist, she knew that. But if it ever dared to come close, it would probably look like him.
And still.
Still, she had spent the evening planning another woman’s forever with the man her heart had memorized years ago.
Alexandra’s bachelorette party had been exactly what Alexandra deserved — elegant, soft, intimate, glowing with candlelight and laughter that sounded like crystal glasses clinking. YN had orchestrated it flawlessly, the way she orchestrated everything: invisible threads, steady hands, a smile no one questioned.
At 1:00 a.m. sharp, she’d checked her phone, widened her eyes just enough to sell the lie, and murmured something about an early morning obligation. They hugged her goodbye, thanked her, praised her, called her the best maid of honor anyone could ask for. She nodded. Smiled. Left. No one saw how quickly she exhaled once the door shut behind her.
Her apartment greeted her with silence — not the lonely kind, just the honest kind. She slipped into her pajamas, washed off the night, the perfume, the careful composure. The wine glass she poured was generous, nearly rebellious, and she curled into the corner of her couch like she was folding herself away for safekeeping.
On the screen, her comfort show played — soft dialogue, summer light, fictional love stories that always seemed to know where they were going. She watched. She sipped. She breathed.
Louis was in London, miles and hours and skies away, not arriving until the wedding day — three in the afternoon, punctual as always, two hours early because he liked being early for things that mattered. She imagined him there now, probably asleep, probably dreaming something gentle. The thought warmed her chest. She told herself that warmth was enough.
Outside, the city hummed low and distant. Inside, the television flickered across her face, painting her in shifting golds and blues. And for the first time all day, no one was watching her pretend she was fine.
On the other side of the city — in a place where the lights never softened and the music never apologized for being loud — he was still there.
Charles’s bachelor party was exactly what people expected from a man the world watched: excessive, glittering, untouchable. The bar was one of those places in Monaco that didn’t need a name because everyone important already knew it. Crystal glasses. Private sections. Velvet ropes. Laughter that sounded expensive. Models draped across couches like they’d been placed there as decoration. Champagne that never reached the bottom of the bottle before another appeared.
He smiled when people looked at him. He laughed when they expected him to. He played the part perfectly.
But sometime after midnight — that strange, fragile hour when parties stop feeling loud and start feeling hollow — the noise blurred. The music lost its rhythm. The alcohol settled into his bloodstream, not dulling him, not softening him, just… loosening the things he usually kept locked behind his ribs. It was the kind of moment that didn’t ask permission before turning honest.
Someone was talking to him. He nodded. Someone handed him another drink. He took it. Someone clapped his shoulder. He didn’t register who. Because suddenly, none of them were the person he wanted.
His phone was already in his hand before he consciously decided to pick it up.
Not Alexandra. Her name didn’t even cross his mind.
His thumb hovered for half a second — just long enough to pretend he still had control — and then he pressed call.
YN.
The line rang once.
Twice.
Three times.
Across the city, she sat curled on her couch, television light flickering over her face, wine glass warm in her hand.
Her phone lit up.
His name filled the screen.
The phone vibrated against the cushion beside her.
His name. Of course it was his name.
YN stared at the screen for a long second, her heart doing that traitorous thing it always did when it came to him — stuttering first, then racing like it was trying to catch up with something it had lost years ago. She could still hear the soft echo of laughter from the TV, the romantic soundtrack swelling in the background, but it all sounded distant now. Muted. Like her apartment itself was holding its breath.
It rang again. She answered. “Hello?”
There was noise on his end. Not loud, not chaotic — just enough to tell her he wasn’t somewhere quiet. Voices blurred together. Glass clinked. Music thumped low and distant like a second heartbeat.
Then his voice. Soft. Rough around the edges. Not the voice he used for interviews or cameras or polite company. “Hi.”
Her fingers tightened slightly around the stem of her glass. “You’re drunk.”
A pause. Not defensive. Not offended. Just honest. “…a little.”
She closed her eyes briefly, exhaling through her nose. “Shouldn’t you be busy? Isn’t this the part where someone puts a ridiculous crown on your head and makes you do embarrassing things?”
“I left that room.”
“Of course you did.”
Another pause. Longer this time.
When he spoke again, the noise behind him was fading, like he’d started walking. “I needed to hear your voice.”
Her stomach dropped. She forced a light tone. “You have a fiancée for that, remember?”
Silence. Footsteps. A door opening. Closing. The background noise vanished completely. When he spoke again, it was quiet. Just him. Just his breathing. “I’m coming to see you.”
Her heart stopped. Restarted harder. “…Charles.”
“I’m serious.”
“It’s one in the morning.”
“I know.”
“You’re at your bachelor party.”
“I know.”
“You’ve been drinking.”
“I know.”
Each answer was calm. Certain. Like he wasn’t arguing with her — he was simply stating facts that didn’t matter.
Her voice softened despite herself. “You shouldn’t.”
“I already left.”
Her grip on the phone tightened. “Charles—”
“I’m outside,” he said, and she could hear it now — the faint sound of the night, distant cars, wind brushing past the receiver. “Getting in the car.”
Her pulse slammed against her ribs. “You cannot drive if you’ve been drinking.”
“I’m not driving. I called someone.”
Of course he had. Of course he always solved problems before they fully formed.
A beat. “I just… need to see you.”
That did it. That stupid, quiet confession. The one he didn’t dress up, didn’t dramatize, didn’t hide behind charm or jokes or arrogance. Just need.
She swallowed. “Why?” It wasn’t accusatory. It wasn’t cold. It was fragile.
On the other end, he exhaled slowly, like he’d been holding that breath all night. “Because,” he said, voice lower now, “you’re the only person I want to talk to when everything gets loud.”
Her chest tightened.
Outside, a car door shut on his end.
“Charles…”
“I’m already on my way.”
Her voice dropped to a whisper. “You shouldn’t be.”
“I know.”
Silence. The kind that says too much.
“…are you going to tell me not to come?” he asked softly.
She looked around her apartment — at the empty space beside her, at the wine glass, at the TV still playing a love story that wasn’t hers.
Her lips parted. Closed. Then, barely audible— “…no.”
On the other end, she heard it. The smallest sound. Relief.
The ride across the city felt shorter than it should have.
Monaco at night blurred past his window in streaks of gold and glass, neon reflections sliding across the car like liquid light. Charles barely registered it. His knee bounced once, then stilled when he forced it to. His fingers tapped against his thigh, stopped, curled into his palm.
By the time the car pulled up to her building, he was already reaching for the door.
The lobby lights were warm, soft, expensive in that quiet way wealth has when it doesn’t need to prove anything. The concierge looked up — and immediately smiled.
“Late night, Charles?”
“Something like that,” he replied, returning the smile with ease. They greeted each other like old acquaintances, like men who understood the same language of privilege and discretion. A brief exchange. A quiet laugh. Nothing unusual. Nothing suspicious. Except for the fact that Charles didn’t linger.
He walked to the elevator with purpose, pressing the button before the doors had even fully opened. Inside, the mirrored walls reflected a version of him he didn’t quite recognize — tie loosened, hair slightly undone, eyes sharper than they should’ve been at this hour.
Floor numbers blinked upward.
12.
13.
14.
When the doors slid open, the hallway greeted him with silence.
Apartment 161.
He didn’t hesitate. He knocked.
Once.
Twice.
For half a second, nothing happened.
Then the handle turned.
The door opened just enough for her to appear in the frame — and whatever composure he’d been holding onto snapped cleanly in half.
She looked like midnight itself had decided to take a human shape. Her makeup was hours old, softened at the edges in that way that made it prettier instead of ruined. Her hair was twisted into a loose, imperfect bun that should’ve looked careless but somehow looked intentional, strands falling like they’d escaped on purpose. Her pajamas were simple, soft, the fabric brushing her thighs in a way that made his chest tighten before he could stop it.
Charles swore, in that exact second, that sanity was a fragile, temporary thing — and his had just abandoned him completely.
She blinked at him, surprised but not shocked. Like some part of her had known he’d actually come. “…You’re here.” Her voice was quieter in person. Warmer. More dangerous.
His gaze dragged up from her legs — slowly, helplessly, like gravity worked differently around her — until it reached her face.
For a moment, he didn’t answer. Didn’t move. Didn’t breathe. Then, softly: “You didn’t tell me not to.”
She let it go. She knew — with the kind of clarity that only arrives when it’s already too late — that opening that door had been the worst decision she’d made in years. But she was hours away from losing him for good, hours away from watching him become someone else’s forever. So she let him in. She stepped aside, and he crossed the threshold like he belonged there, like he always had.
Neither of them spoke while she walked toward the kitchen. The apartment was dim except for the soft glow of the TV, the quiet soundtrack of The Summer I Turned Pretty filling the space with someone else’s love story. Charles’ eyes drifted over everything — the blanket folded on the armrest, the glass on the table, her shoes abandoned near the door — memorizing details like evidence.
From the kitchen came the soft clink of glass. She returned with a champagne bottle in one hand and a single flute in the other. Not two. One. She held it out to him. “For you.”
Her fingers brushed his for half a second as he took it, and the contact was so brief it shouldn’t have mattered. It did.
Charles glanced at the glass, then at her. “You’re not having any?”
“I already did,” she said simply, lifting her own wine glass from the coffee table as proof.
He hummed, low, thoughtful, like he didn’t quite believe that was the only reason. They sat. Not too close. Not far enough.
The couch dipped slightly under his weight, the cushion shifting toward him until her thigh almost touched his. Almost. The kind of almost that felt louder than contact.
On the screen, someone was confessing love. In the room, neither of them were breathing normally.
Charles leaned back, champagne loose in his hand, eyes on the TV but not seeing it.
“You left early.”
She didn’t look at him. “So did you.”
A pause. His voice dropped, softer now. “I left because you weren’t there.”
Silence. The kind that presses against your ribs from the inside.
She swallowed, eyes fixed stubbornly on the screen. “You had models, music, alcohol, your friends. I’m sure you survived.”
“I didn’t want them.”
Her grip tightened slightly on her glass.
“I wanted you.” The words didn’t sound dramatic. Didn’t sound rehearsed. Didn’t even sound intentional. They sounded like something that slipped out before pride could catch it.
The TV kept playing. Neither of them moved. And somehow, without either of them noticing when it happened, the space between their legs disappeared.
She looked at him. God — for some cruel, unexplainable reason, he didn’t look like a man she couldn’t have. He looked like something forbidden placed gently within reach. Like something her hands remembered before her mind could stop them.
Her voice left her before permission could exist. “Why her?” The question hung there — fragile, irreversible.
Charles didn’t answer immediately. Not because he didn’t hear. Because he did.
His eyes shifted from the TV to her slowly, like turning toward a sound he’d been waiting for all night. There was no confusion in his expression. No offense. Just something steady. Careful.
He set the champagne flute down on the table without looking away from her. “You really want to know?”
She shouldn’t have nodded. But she did.
A breath passed between them. Then another. And then — “Because she’s safe.” The words weren’t loud. They weren’t defensive. They weren’t proud. They were honest.
Her brows knit faintly. “Safe?”
“She doesn’t look at me like she knows me,” he said. “Not really. Not like you do.”
Her pulse stumbled.
He leaned forward slightly, forearms resting on his thighs now, closer without touching. His voice dropped — not seductive, not pleading. Confessional.
“With her, I’m who I’m supposed to be. The version people expect. The one that doesn’t ruin things. Doesn’t make mistakes. Doesn’t…” he exhaled softly, searching for the word, “…feel like I’m constantly about to lose control of something.”
Her fingers tightened around her glass. “And with me?” she asked, barely audible.
His eyes lifted to hers. “With you,” he said quietly, “I don’t get to pretend.”
Silence swallowed the room again.
On the TV, someone kissed someone. Neither of them noticed.
Her throat felt dry. “That’s not a reason to marry someone.”
“No,” he agreed. A beat. “It’s a reason to survive.”
That landed heavier than anything else he’d said.
She stared at him now, fully, openly, like she was trying to read the truth off his face the way he always read hers. But his expression didn’t flinch. Didn’t dodge. Didn’t hide. It stayed. Steady. Certain. Tired.
“And love?” she asked. It wasn’t accusatory. It was worse. It was hopeful.
His jaw tightened slightly. “I do care about her.” Not the same as I love her. They both heard the difference.
Her chest rose slowly. “That’s not what I asked.”
Another silence. Longer this time.
His gaze flickered down — to her mouth, to the way she was biting the inside of her cheek like she used to when she was nervous, like he remembered, like he’d always remembered — and something in his restraint visibly strained.
When he looked back up, his voice was quieter. “Love isn’t always the deciding factor.”
Her heart pounded so hard she was sure he could hear it. “That’s a sad way to live,” she whispered.
His answer came without hesitation. “It’s a safer one.” The word again. Safe. Careful. Controlled. Everything he had never been with her.
Her laugh came out faint and breathless, not amused — just overwhelmed. “You’re really going to marry someone because she’s safe?”
He didn’t blink. “I’m going to marry her because she won’t destroy me.”
The air shifted. Something fragile tightened between them like a string pulled too far.
“And I would?” she asked softly.
His eyes didn’t leave hers.
“You already do.”
She looked at him.
“But do you love me?” The question didn’t sound dramatic. Didn’t sound accusing. Didn’t even sound afraid. It sounded tired.
Charles stilled. Not the kind of stillness people fake when they’re thinking — the real kind. The kind that happens when a truth walks into the room and both of you recognize it at the same time.
His throat moved slightly when he swallowed. For once, he didn’t answer immediately. And that was answer enough to make her chest tighten.
She held his gaze anyway. Stubborn. Brave. Ruined. “Well?” she whispered.
His fingers flexed once against his knee, like he was resisting the instinct to reach for her. His voice, when it came, was low and rough in a way she’d never heard from him in public, never heard in interviews, never heard around anyone else. “You don’t ask questions like that unless you already know the answer.”
Her breath hitched — small, involuntary. “That’s not fair,” she said softly.
“No,” he agreed. “It isn’t.” Silence pressed in again, thick, electric.
On the television, laughter filled the room from someone else’s storyline. It sounded distant. Unreal. Like it belonged to another world entirely.
She didn’t blink. “Say it anyway.”
His jaw tightened. He looked at her the way men look at things they aren’t supposed to touch. The way people look at fire when they already feel the burn. “You want me to say it,” he murmured, “or you want me to lie?”
Her lips parted slightly. “That’s not the same thing.”
“For me it is.”
Her heart stuttered. Because that meant—Because that meant the truth wasn’t safe. And Charles, he realized suddenly, had never been afraid of danger. He’d only ever been afraid of truth.
Her voice dropped to almost nothing. “Charles.” Just his name. A warning. A plea. A surrender.
Something in his composure cracked — not loudly, not visibly to anyone else, but she saw it. She always saw it. His eyes softened in that quiet, devastating way that only ever existed when he looked at her like this. Like she was the only real thing in a room full of illusions.
When he spoke, it wasn’t careful anymore. It wasn’t controlled. It was honest. “I never stopped.” The words barely existed above a breath. But they hit like thunder.
Her inhale trembled.
His gaze flicked to her lips again before returning to her eyes, voice lower now, almost hoarse —
“That’s the problem.” She moved closer. Not enough to be obvious. Enough to matter.
The space between them — that fragile, trembling line they’d been pretending still existed — dissolved like mist. She could feel the warmth of him now, the heat of his body seeping through the thin fabric of her sleeve, the faint scent of his cologne mixing with champagne and night air.
She knew she shouldn’t. She knew every instinct she’d ever had was screaming don’t. But who was going to see them here? Who was going to stop them?
Her voice came out softer than she intended, almost fragile — like the truth had edges.
“I’ve loved you for years,” she whispered. “And you’ve never been mine.” The confession didn’t shatter the room. It sank into it.
Charles didn’t move. Didn’t breathe. Didn’t look away.
For a moment he just stared at her, like he was trying to memorize the exact shape of the words on her lips, like he’d been waiting his entire life to hear them and now that they existed he didn’t know what to do with them. Something flickered behind his eyes — not surprise. Recognition.
Slowly, carefully, like he was approaching something sacred or dangerous or both, his hand lifted. He didn’t touch her. Not yet.
His fingers hovered near her jaw, barely there, the ghost of a touch instead of the touch itself. Waiting. Asking. Begging permission without pride left to hide behind.
“You think you’ve never been mine?” he said quietly. His voice wasn’t steady anymore. It was softer than she’d ever heard it. Rougher. Realer. His thumb brushed her cheek. Just once. Featherlight. “You always have been.”
And without waiting for anything more — for permission, for reason, for sense — she crashed into his lips.
Her fingers tangled instantly in his hair, gripping like she needed something solid to hold onto, something real, something that wouldn’t vanish the second she blinked. The kiss wasn’t gentle, wasn’t careful; it was desperate, breathless, years of restraint unraveling all at once.
His hands found her hips like they already knew the way, like they had memorized that place long before they were ever allowed to touch it. His grip tightened, pulling her flush against him, anchoring her there as if the world outside the apartment had ceased to exist.
She kissed him like she was claiming something. He kissed her like he already belonged to her.
Air grew scarce between them, breaths breaking against each other, noses brushing, lips parting only to find each other again. The room was too warm, too quiet, too full of everything they had never said.
And for that suspended, reckless moment, there was no wedding, no promises, no consequences. Just her mouth on his, his hands on her, and the undeniable, ruinous truth they had spent years pretending wasn’t there.
When the kiss deepened, it became clear there was nothing left for them to do but surrender to it.
What had started as hesitation dissolved into something heavier, warmer, inevitable. Between breaths and stolen seconds, they moved together down the hallway, lips still meeting, hands still holding, like distance itself had become unbearable.
The bedroom waited at the end. Her bedroom. The one she shared with someone else.
Charles noticed — of course he did. His eyes skimmed the space in a single glance, catching the quiet details that didn’t belong to him, the subtle traces of another life threaded into the room. And yet none of it stopped him. If anything, something unreadable flickered across his expression, something fierce and quietly possessive, like the knowledge only made this moment feel more real, more dangerous, more theirs.
Her fingers tightened lightly in his shirt as they stepped inside, her pulse loud enough she was sure he could feel it.
Neither of them spoke.
They didn’t need to.
The air between them already said everything words couldn’t.
His hand slipped into hers, warm, certain, as if he’d made his choice long before tonight. She didn’t pull away. She didn’t look back. She only let him guide her one step further inside, into the soft dimness, into the quiet, into whatever came next.
And behind them, the door closed with a soft, final click.
—
When the morning came, sunlight slipped through the curtains of YN’s bedroom in thin, golden lines, quiet and indifferent, as if the world hadn’t shifted at all.
The weight beside her was gone. It had vanished hours ago — no goodbye, no whisper, no lingering warmth except the faint imprint on the sheets and the ghost of him still clinging to the air. She dragged a hand down her face, slow, frustrated, the reality settling over her skin like something she couldn’t wash off.
Of course he’d left. Of course he had.
She pushed herself upright, the blanket sliding down as she glanced around the room. Her clothes were scattered across the floor, a silent map of last night’s decisions, each piece carrying the unmistakable trace of his cologne — that clean, expensive scent that now felt less like luxury and more like evidence.
For a moment she just sat there, staring. She could go after him. She could call. She could demand something — an explanation, a promise, a lie, anything. Her chest tightened. She didn’t.
Instead, she stood, gathering her clothes one by one, movements slower than usual, like gravity had grown heavier overnight. The bathroom light flickered on, the shower running soon after, steam filling the space until the mirror blurred and her reflection disappeared completely.
Safe. Hidden. Temporary. Because in less than seven hours, he was going to get married. And she already knew what he would choose. The safe option.

YN arrived at the salon five minutes late, the kind of late that didn’t ruin anything but still made her feel like she’d stepped into the scene half a breath behind everyone else.
The wedding planner was already there, clipboard in hand, whispering final confirmations into her headset while scanning the room with sharp, practiced eyes. Everything smelled faintly of hairspray, roses, and expensive anticipation.
Alexandra — radiant, glowing, impossibly calm — stood near the mirror as if she’d been born meant to be a bride.
Alexandra turned when YN entered, her face lighting instantly, the nerves she’d been hiding softening into relief. “There you are,” she breathed.
Before YN could answer, another voice cut in — warm, elegant, unmistakably affectionate. “Finally.”
Pascale crossed the room with open arms, greeting Alexandra first with a gentle kiss to both cheeks, murmuring something soft in French meant only for her future daughter-in-law. But when she turned to YN, her smile widened, eyes bright with a kind of fondness that ran deeper than politeness.
“My darling,” she said, pulling her into a hug that lingered a second longer than expected.
Anyone watching would think she was greeting family. And in a way, she was.
“You’re late,” Pascale added lightly, though her tone held no reprimand at all.
“Only fashionably,” YN replied, her voice smooth, composed, perfectly believable.
Pascale laughed, delighted, and brushed a strand of hair from YN’s face like she used to when YN was younger — a gesture so instinctive it slipped out before anyone could question it.
Across the room, the planner clapped her hands once. “Alright, ladies — timeline.”
The energy shifted immediately. Chairs turned. Tools clinked. Assistants moved.
Pascale guided Alexandra gently toward the styling chair, hands already assessing her hair with a professional’s eye and a mother’s quiet pride. “Today,” she said softly, meeting Alexandra’s reflection in the mirror, “you become part of our family.”
YN stood just behind them. Smiling. Watching. Silent.
And for a fleeting second — so quick no one noticed — her gaze drifted to the empty chair beside Alexandra’s, the one that would’ve been hers if life had tilted just slightly differently. She clasped her hands together so no one would see them tremble.
—
When the clock struck three, YN slipped out of the salon at last, pressing careful goodbye kisses to cheeks, offering reassurances, promises, smiles that looked effortless from the outside. Pascale squeezed her hands once before letting go; Alexandra told her not to be late; the planner reminded her of the timeline as if it were sacred scripture. And then she was gone. The quiet of the hallway felt louder than the celebration she’d left behind.
By the time she reached her apartment, the sky had shifted into that soft golden hour Monaco wore so well — warm light spilling across balconies, glinting off glass, making everything look gentler than it really was.
The door opened. He was already there.
Louis stood just inside with his suitcase by his feet, travel-worn and beautiful in that effortless way he had, hair slightly mussed from the flight, shirt creased, eyes tired but lighting up the second he saw her.
And in his hand — flowers. Fresh. Carefully chosen. Her favorites.
The sight hit her all at once, sharp and quiet and heavy. Guilt didn’t arrive dramatically; it slipped in softly, settling somewhere behind her ribs.
Because he looked exactly like someone who loved her.
She didn’t let herself think. She ran to him.
Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him down into a kiss that was warm and real and safe — so safe it almost hurt. He laughed softly against her lips, surprised but pleased, one hand instinctively sliding around her waist to steady her as she nearly collided with him.
“God,” she murmured, pressing her face into the curve of his neck, breathing him in like she needed proof he was real, “I missed you more than you can imagine.”
He exhaled, arms tightening around her. “I think I can imagine,” he said gently.

The hour YN had been dreading arrived with church bells. Not loud. Not dramatic. Just final.
The doors stood open, sunlight pouring through them in pale gold ribbons, and the music began — soft, traditional, beautiful.
To everyone else, it sounded like a wedding. To her, it sounded like a funeral.
She sat perfectly still in the front row, posture elegant, hands folded neatly in her lap so no one would see the tension in her fingers. From the outside she looked composed, radiant even — the perfect bridesmaid, the perfect guest, the perfect picture of grace. Inside, something was breaking quietly.
She watched as Alexandra appeared at the end of the aisle, glowing beneath lace and light, moving slowly, almost floating. Like a pageant queen. Like a dream. Like a promise.
But I know you wish it was me. The thought slipped in before she could stop it. Her chest tightened. You wish it was me. Don’t you? Her gaze lifted.
At the altar stood Charles Leclerc, dressed in white and devotion, hands clasped in front of him, jaw set just slightly too tight for a man about to marry the love of his life.
Everyone was looking at the bride. Everyone except him. Because despite every ounce of discipline he possessed, despite the cameras, the guests, the vows waiting on his tongue — his eyes betrayed him for half a second. They found her. First row. Beside her boyfriend. Looking like something he had dreamed up and lost all at once. It was quick. So quick no one else noticed. But she did. Of course she did.
Her breath caught, barely there, her fingers tightening together in her lap as their eyes met across the aisle — across flowers, across guests, across everything they had chosen and everything they hadn’t.
In that instant, the church disappeared. No music. No priest. No guests. Just him. Just her. Just the silent, devastating question hanging between them like a secret neither of them would ever say out loud.
And then — He looked away. Back to the bride. Back to the moment. Back to the life he had chosen.
The music swelled. The ceremony began.
And YN smiled, perfectly on cue, like her heart wasn’t quietly shattering in a church full of witnesses. The ceremony unfolded with solemn grace, each word spoken with the kind of reverence that made time feel slower, heavier, inevitable. Incense lingered faintly in the air. Sunlight filtered through stained glass, painting the marble floor in fractured colors that trembled softly whenever someone shifted in their seat.
To everyone else, it was beautiful. To YN, it felt like watching the last page of a story she’d never been allowed to finish.
The priest’s voice rang clear as he turned toward Alexandra, his tone ceremonial, timeless.
“Alexandra Malena Saint Mleux, do you accept Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc as your husband, to love and to cherish him in poverty and in wealth, in sickness and in health?”
The church held its breath. “I do.” Her answer was steady. Certain. Bright with joy.
A soft wave of emotion passed through the guests — quiet smiles, misty eyes, hands squeezing hands. The kind of reaction weddings were made for. The kind people would remember fondly.
The priest nodded, satisfied, and turned toward the groom. Toward Charles. “And you, Charles Marc Hervé Perceval Leclerc—”
YN felt it instantly. Her chest tightened, breath thinning as though the air itself had grown heavier. Something inside her seemed to shrink, folding in on itself, smaller and smaller, like her heart was trying to make room for a reality it didn’t want to hold.
“…do you accept Alexandra Malena Saint Mleux as your wife, to love and to cherish her in poverty and in wealth, in sickness and in health?”
Silence. Not long. Just long enough. Long enough for her pulse to stumble. Long enough for hope — traitorous, foolish hope — to flicker somewhere deep inside her ribs.
She smiled anyway. A perfect smile. A bridesmaid’s smile. The kind meant for photographs.
Tears gathered along her lashes, shining like fragile glass. Anyone looking would think they were tears of happiness. Tears of emotion. Tears of witnessing love. Only she knew they were grief.
At the altar, Charles inhaled slowly. His jaw flexed once. And for the briefest fraction of a second — the smallest betrayal of composure — his eyes shifted. Not to the priest. Not to the guests. To her. First row. Beside her boyfriend. Looking like something he had lost and never stopped wanting.
The moment passed before anyone else could notice. His gaze returned forward. His voice, when it came, was calm. Certain. “I do.”
The words didn’t echo. They landed. Final. Absolute. Irrevocable.
A soft murmur of relief and joy rippled through the church. Someone sniffled. Someone sighed. Somewhere in the back, quiet applause began before quickly fading again into reverent silence.
Beside the aisle, YN’s smile didn’t falter. Not once.
Not even as something inside her quietly shattered for good.
—
At the reception, YN still felt like this was the worst day of her life. Watching him dance with her, kiss her, smile at her — it only made it worse. Louis was chatting animatedly with the guests, fitting in effortlessly, as always. Simply perfect.
YN said she felt a little sick and that she was going to get some air. Louis insisted on going with her, but she managed to convince him she was fine, that she just needed a moment alone. He agreed and let her go.
The night air met her like a cool sigh when she stepped into the small garden tucked away from the party. The music faded behind her, softened by walls and distance. The golden glow from inside barely reached the leaves nearby, and for the first time all day, no one was watching her. Except him.
Charles saw her from afar and walked over quietly, as if afraid of breaking something invisible between them. “You slipped away,” he said softly.
YN didn’t turn. “I just needed to breathe.”
He stopped behind her. Not too close. Never far enough. “You didn’t look okay.”
“It’s a wedding, Charles. No one stands alone in a garden during a wedding if everything’s perfect.”
Silence settled between them, heavy with words they couldn’t say out loud.
“Louis was looking for you,” he added.
She let out a small humorless laugh. “Louis always looks for me. That’s what men in love do.”
That hit him. It showed in the way his jaw tightened. “You don’t have to remind me.”
“No,” she said quietly. “You already have a ring for that.” Now she turned.
Their eyes met, and the world seemed to shrink to the exact space between them. Inside, applause burst out, followed by laughter, like someone had just told a joke. Neither of them reacted.
Charles’ voice dropped. “I didn’t want today to be like this for you.”
“Like what?”
“Hard.”
She held his gaze. “Don’t worry. I’m good at pretending.”
A muscle in his cheek twitched. “You’ve never been able to pretend with me.”
That cracked something in her. The breeze shifted her hair slightly, and he noticed — like he noticed everything about her. Like his attention still belonged to her. “You should go back,” she said finally, softer now.
He didn’t move.
“Charles.” Her voice sounded different. Lower. Fragile.
He swallowed. “When you walked into the church today…” he started, then stopped.
She didn’t breathe. “What?” Barely a whisper.
He looked at her like he was staring at something he wasn’t supposed to look at anymore. “Nothing.” A lie.
She took a small step back, like she needed space just to stand. “Your wife is waiting.”
The word landed between them like glass.
Something in his expression shifted — a fracture, quick and small. But he nodded. One step back. Then another.
And just before turning away, he murmured— “It’s still you.” He didn’t explain what he meant. He didn’t have to. Then he left.
And YN stayed there in the garden, the distant music echoing softly, her heart beating too fast, and the painful certainty settling deep in her chest that even on the day he married someone else… a part of him still hadn’t let her go
—
When the wedding ended, YN and Louis said their goodbyes to everyone. She smiled, hugged, thanked, laughed at the right moments — performed perfectly. Even when she reached Charles, she acted like nothing had ever happened between them. Polite. Warm. Distant. The kind of goodbye you give someone who means nothing. Then she left with Louis.
By the time they got back to the apartment, the night had settled into a quiet stillness. They changed into their pajamas, the soft domestic routine almost surreal after the glitter and noise of the reception. YN wiped off her makeup slowly, watching her reflection fade back into someone simpler, someone who didn’t have to pretend so much.
She slipped into bed beside him.
Louis didn’t say anything at first. But he had noticed. He always noticed. He knew her — maybe not in the way Charles did, not with that instinctive, dangerous familiarity, but in the steady way that came from choosing her every day. From paying attention. From learning her like a language he wanted to speak fluently.
His voice was gentle in the dark. “You’re quiet tonight.”
She stared at the ceiling. “I’m just tired.”
A pause. Not convinced. “That’s not your tired voice.”
Her chest tightened slightly.
He shifted onto his side, propping his head on his hand so he could see her better in the dim light. “What’s going on in that head of yours, hm?”
She turned to him, offering a small smile — soft, believable, practiced. “Nothing important.”
He studied her for a second longer, eyes warm, patient, searching. Louis didn’t push. He never pushed. Instead, he reached out and brushed a strand of hair away from her face, his fingers lingering lightly at her temple. “Whatever it is,” he murmured, “you don’t have to carry it alone.”
And that — that almost made it worse. Because kindness was harder to lie to than suspicion.
She swallowed, her throat tight, and nodded once. “I know.”
He kissed her forehead, slow and tender, like a promise rather than a question, then pulled her gently closer until her head rested against his chest. His heartbeat was steady. Calm. Safe.Everything Charles had never been. Louis’ arm wrapped around her, protective even in sleep as his breathing began to slow.
YN stayed awake. Eyes open. Mind loud. Heart divided. And in the silence of the dark, she realized something that scared her more than the wedding had — being loved right… didn’t feel the same as loving wrong.
MEET ME IN THE AFTERGLOW — oscar piastri x bsf!fem!reader.
summary: YN has always been Oscar Piastri’s constant — his best friend, his safe place, the one feeling he never questioned.
To the world, they look like more. To him, it’s something he refuses to name.
When rumors grow too loud, Oscar says the wrong thing out loud, and what was meant to end the noise becomes the fracture that leaves her standing in the aftermath — loving him quietly, while he realizes too late that some words can’t be taken back.
ephie's radio: hiii, this is just a silly little story that lived in my head for a while. english isn’t my first language, and i’ve never written anything like this before, so it might be messy, confusing, or imperfect — but it’s mine. nothing here is real, everything is fictional, and any resemblance is purely coincidence. thank you for reading anyway, for being kind, and for staying until the end. it really means more than you know.

The party was impossible to ignore.
Everyone knew it — the kind of night Monaco talks about for weeks. Familiar faces everywhere, laughter spilling out onto the street, music pulsing through the walls of the club YN had somehow turned into something electric. It was too much in the best way.
Oscar had always hated parties. The noise, the crowds, the way everything felt slightly out of control. But that night, he didn’t mind. Not when he could spot YN across the room so easily — glowing, effortless, moving from group to group with a smile that looked like it belonged there. Watching her laugh, watching her exist so freely in a space he never quite fit into, made something in his chest soften. If this was what she loved, he could love it too.
Time blurred the way it always does after midnight. Glasses refilled without anyone noticing, conversations grew louder and looser, the music slower, heavier. By the time the early hours crept in, the air inside felt thick — warm with bodies, alcohol, and unspoken things.
They slipped out quietly, escaping the noise for the cool Monaco night. The city breathed around them, distant and calm, a sharp contrast to the chaos they’d left behind. Neither of them spoke at first. They didn’t need to.
Standing there, close enough to feel each other’s presence, it felt easier to forget everything else — the rumors, the lines they never crossed, the careful way they usually spoke around each other. A laugh turned softer. A glance lingered too long. One step closer became impossible to undo.
The kiss wasn’t planned. It wasn’t dramatic. It just… happened. Like something that had been waiting long enough finally gave in.
They didn’t see the shadows nearby. Didn’t notice the quiet click of a camera, or the figures half-hidden behind parked cars and corners of stone. In that moment, there was only the night, the city, and the mistake neither of them realized they were making.

tmz: Oscar Piastri is finally addressing the question everyone’s been asking.
Following the Bahrain Grand Prix, the McLaren driver was asked about the viral photo showing him kissing his longtime best friend, YN YL, outside a Monaco club earlier this month.
“YN? She’s just my best friend. There’s nothing romantic there. The kiss didn’t mean anything — it was just two adults who had too much to drink, and people are reading way too much into it. It’s honestly not that deep.”
The comment quickly spread online, with many fans criticizing the driver for downplaying the moment — and seemingly dismissing YN entirely.

He didn’t give himself time to overthink it.
That was the mistake every other time — thinking too much, saying too little.
After the conversation with his mum, Oscar stood in the middle of his apartment, phone abandoned on the counter, heart pounding like he was about to line up on a grid again. Except this time, there was no helmet to hide behind. No radio telling him what to say.
He checked the time.
8:03 p.m.
Of course it was.
Her hour.
For years now, eight o’clock meant the same thing: lights dimmed, takeout on the coffee table, Gossip Girl playing softly in the background while she pretended she wasn’t rewatching it for the hundredth time. A stupid little tradition she loved. One he had grown to adore simply because it was hers.
Going to see her now was reckless.
Going to see her now was necessary.
Oscar grabbed his keys and left before doubt could catch up to him.
The drive through Monaco felt unreal, like the city was holding its breath with him. The streets glowed under warm lights, familiar turns passing by too quickly, his thoughts louder than the engine. His hands were steady on the wheel, but his chest felt tight, heavy with everything he hadn’t said.
He pulled over outside a small flower shop — still open, still lit — as if the universe was quietly conspiring against his excuses. Inside, he didn’t hesitate. He chose the most colorful bouquet they had. Wild, bright, a little chaotic.
Just like her.
Colors that reminded him of her laugh, the way she took up space without apologizing, the way she made everything around her feel warmer just by existing. He stared at the flowers for a second longer than necessary, swallowing.
Please don’t be too late, he thought.
Not to the building.
To her.
When he finally parked beneath her apartment, his nerves hit him all at once. The familiar underground garage suddenly felt hostile, like it knew he didn’t deserve to be there. He approached the security desk, voice low, almost pleading.
“Please,” he said, “don’t call up. Just… don’t tell her.”
The guard looked at him for a moment, recognition flashing in his eyes. Then, quietly, he nodded.
Oscar exhaled. One small mercy.
The elevator ride felt endless. Each floor number lighting up like a countdown he couldn’t stop. He adjusted his grip on the bouquet, palms slightly damp, heart racing faster with every second.
She’s going to slam the door.
She’s going to yell.
She’s going to hit you.
And still, he went.
Standing outside her door, the sounds of her apartment leaked through faintly — a muffled TV, distant dialogue, the unmistakable cadence of Gossip Girl. He closed his eyes.
This was her safe space.
And he was about to disturb it.
Oscar inhaled deeply, then raised his hand and knocked.
Once.
Twice.
The door opened.
She was smiling when she did — soft, absent-minded, like she expected a delivery or a friend. Comfortable. At home. For half a second, his heart lifted.
And then she saw him.
Her smile from seconds ago was gone, wiped clean like it had never existed.
“What are you doing here?” she asked.
Oscar swallowed. The words felt lodged in his throat, heavy with everything he’d rehearsed and everything he still didn’t know how to say.
“I messed things up,” he said quietly. “And I don’t mean a little.”
She scoffed, leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed. “That’s one way to put it.”
“I blew things out of proportion,” he continued, forcing himself not to look away. “I let my head convince me there was a problem when there wasn’t. And you paid for it.”
Her eyes hardened. “You didn’t just ‘mess up,’ Oscar. You put me on trial for something I didn’t do. You made it sound like I was… embarrassing. Temporary.”
The words hit him harder than anything online ever could.
“I know,” he said. “I trapped you in a story I made up. I acted like I had reasons to attack when the truth is… I was scared.”
“Scared of what?” she snapped.
“Of how much I love you.”
The silence that followed was sharp.
She laughed once, bitter. “You don’t get to say that now.”
“I do,” he replied immediately. “Because it’s the truth I should’ve said before I burned everything down.”
She shook her head. “You always do this. You panic, you shut down, and then you pretend you didn’t light the match.”
Oscar stepped closer, stopping the moment she tensed.
“Fighting with you feels like fighting with no gloves,” he admitted. “Every word lands. And instead of protecting us, I swing anyway.”
Her jaw clenched. “So what? You’re here to say sorry and expect me to be okay?”
“No,” he said. “I’m here because seeing you hurt is unbearable. Because I lived like an island and punished you with silence, and I hate myself for it.”
Her voice dropped. “You broke what you loved.”
“I know,” he whispered. “It’s written all over your face. And I’m to blame.”
She looked away, blinking fast.
“I don’t want to do this to you,” Oscar went on, desperation finally bleeding through. “I don’t want to lose this. Lose you.”
“That should’ve mattered before the interview,” she said quietly.
“It did,” he said. “I just let my fear be louder.”
She finally looked at him again. “And what now?”
He hesitated, then spoke like it hurt to breathe.
“Now I stand here and tell you it was all me. In my head. My mess. My fire. Not what I meant, but still my fault.”
She opened the door wider — not to invite him in, but to face him fully.
“You don’t get reassurance from me,” she warned. “I’m not going to tell you it’s okay. I’m not going to tell you we’re fine.”
“I’m not asking you to,” he said softly. “I’m just asking you not to walk away.”
Her laugh cracked. “You really think that’s enough?”
“No,” he admitted. “But it’s all I have.”
He took a breath, voice breaking just slightly.
“I don’t need you to forgive me tonight. I don’t need promises. I just need the chance to meet you somewhere after the fire. After the damage. In whatever comes after this.”
She stared at him, anger and something far more dangerous — longing — warring in her eyes.
“You hurt me,” she said again.
“I know.”
“And I’m not done being angry.”
“I’ll stay anyway.”
A beat.
“You’re impossible,” she muttered.
“And you’re worth the fight,” he replied.
She didn’t step aside.
She didn’t forgive him.
But she didn’t close the door either.
And for Oscar, standing there under the soft hallway lights, heart exposed and shaking, that was enough to keep going — to wait for the afterglow.

Do you think they’ve talked things out and are friends again? Or is something more quietly happening?

Sunday, June 1st, 2025.
Spanish Grand Prix.
YN being in the paddock was no longer news — but today, it felt different. The air was electric, heavy with anticipation, with that quiet certainty that something special was about to happen. Only a handful of laps remained, and Oscar Piastri was leading the race.
Every screen glowed with his name at the top.
YN stood near the pit wall, hands clasped tightly together, heart racing in sync with the cars screaming past. Around her, the paddock buzzed, but she barely heard it. Her eyes never left the monitor. One lap. Two. The seconds stretched unbearably thin.
And then it happened.
The chequered flag waved.
Oscar crossed the line first — winner of the Spanish Grand Prix.
The paddock exploded into sound.
YN let out a breath she hadn’t realized she’d been holding, a laugh breaking free as emotion rushed through her all at once. Nicole Piastri was beside her immediately, and the two of them hugged tightly, joy overflowing as cameras flashed around them, catching every second of shared celebration.
Down on the track, Oscar slowed the car, his victory lap unfolding beneath roaring grandstands. When he finally pulled into parc fermé and climbed out, the world descended on him — engineers shouting, teammates cheering, photographers swarming.
He embraced his crew. He waved. He smiled.
And then, without hesitation, he ran.
Helmet tucked under his arm, race suit still warm from the car, Oscar pushed through the crowd with purpose. He reached his mother first, wrapping her in a fierce hug, gratitude and triumph mixing in a single breath.
Then his eyes found YN.
Cameras followed instantly.
Oscar crossed the remaining distance in long, determined strides, stopping right in front of her. For a heartbeat, everything else faded — the noise, the chaos, the spectacle — until it was just the two of them standing under the Barcelona sun.
He smiled at her. Not the polished smile for sponsors or interviews — but the soft one he saved for her.
Without thinking, he pulled her into his arms. The hug was tight, grounding, unmistakably intimate. YN laughed softly against his chest, hands gripping his suit as flashes went off all around them, immortalizing the moment.
Oscar leaned down and pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead.
The cameras went wild.
“You’re my lucky charm,” he said, voice warm, sincere, meant for her — even as microphones hovered nearby.
YN looked up at him, eyes shining, the world watching as if it already knew.
Around them, the paddock buzzed with whispers, with smiles, with knowing glances. No statement had been made. No caption written.
But the moment spoke for itself.
Under the Spanish sky, with victory still echoing in the air, Oscar Piastri held the girl everyone was starting to understand was far more than just his best friend.
And this time, he didn’t let go.

f1updates: Oscar Piastri has officially stopped running from the narrative.
Two days after leaving Barcelona together aboard the McLaren driver’s private jet, Oscar Piastri and YN YL were photographed again — this time in Monaco, on Piastri’s luxury yacht. The images show the pair sharing an intimate moment away from the paddock, cameras, and team colors.
The sighting comes just days after their widely discussed interaction at the Spanish Grand Prix, where cameras captured a visibly affectionate exchange in parc fermé following Piastri’s victory. While both have remained publicly quiet, their repeated appearances together — from Barcelona to Monaco — are no longer going unnoticed.
Once labeled “just best friends,” the question now feels inevitable: are they finally ready to confirm what the paddock (and the internet) already believes?
