reblog if you want people to send you assumptions about your OC's to confirm or deny!
Which OC?
Which OC is the homie who never fully recovered from the incident?
Which OC is weird and unfixable?

Ah. That's certainly less than optimal. Does Reginald know that Birdie doesn't have a residence or really anywhere to stay? I feel like if he did he would probably say something. Then again, it seems like Birdie is reluctant to ask others for help...
Yeah, he doesn't know. He does suspect, but given how Birdie is... Like That, he knows better than to try prying. Instead, he just offers to try making the guest room more comfortable for them whenever they stay the night.
Does Birdie have any pets or would like to have a pet? I feel like they would lean towards wanting one, but due to being Agent Phoenix realistically wouldn't have the time/ability to properly care for one
You basically got it in one: Birdie would love to have a pet, but realistically she's too busy to take care of one. This isn't helped by the fact that they don't really have a steady residence, again thanks to their work. Closest thing she has is a guest room in her handler's place, and even then it's more of a trophy room she can sleep in than an actual bedroom.
i’ve been so well-behaved i deserve to light things on fire now
free my girl she did all that and that’s what makes her such a compellingly complex character. that’s her essence

Got two likes, I've officially been encouraged (under the cut bc I'm thinking about writing a fic and it might end up as spoilers):
So! Imagine, if you will, that one day a baby shows up on your doorstep. You can't say you're prepared to raise a child, but she clearly has no one else and you kind of need something to focus on, so you take her in anyways. Since they're a little cuddlebug, you name them Theodosia and call them Teddy.
She grows up happy and healthy under your care, and when she's old enough she decides that she wants to follow in your footsteps and become a field agent. You couldn't be prouder, and you help them through the process. Next thing you know, she's stopped three world-ending threats and become the top agent.
Of course, you're still proud of them (if not prouder), but that doesn't change the danger they're in. And when you try to talk about your concerns, you end up getting into a huge argument with her, leading to her leaving to cool off. You don't think much of it...
And then they don't come home. Someone else finds what's left of her and tells you what happened. In your rage and grief, you kill the one behind it with your bare hands, but that just leaves you numb because it can't bring them back.
So you quit. Dedicate all your time to trying to figure out a way to save her, because the alternative is learning how to live in a world without her and you just... Can't.
Eventually, you manage to figure out time travel and go back. However, you overshot and changed things more than you expected to, so when you return to the 'present' your child is... Different. Still fundamentally the same, but you can tell that in this world that you didn't have a hand in raising them.
You find yourself not caring much about that, the sheer relief of seeing her alive again overtaking basically everything else. However, even without your influence they're still a field agent, and you can't bear the thought of them dying again. You... You need to keep her safe. Even if it's against their will.
quickly we need more guys who are SO terrified of loss that they sabotage every good thing that's ever happened to them
"Were you hurt?"
"I'm fine."
"I'll rephrase. Where are you hurt?"
