Hello and Welcome 🌟 I am a person who likes to have fun and also learn about pretty much anything. I'm a Cali girl who enjoys spending time with my family and my three fur children. Its not always easy but I've learned not to take things too seriously because I cannot control everything. Here you will find things I like and things I do like testing products. I'm an honest person, and will not say what's not true to me. Keep in mind we might not agree on what is good because we all have our own likes. Healthy Baby Home Party

First let me begin with a little background. This party was hosted by me with the help from Generation Good by Seventh Generation brand. This is a community for anyone, but specially for those who are parents or have kids under their care. Its a place where people discuss different topics but one that’s very important is using household products that are safe for kids and the environment.

Starting back in 1989, this company has been fighting to have harsh and dangerous chemicals out of household items. It has also helped us in California with having products have disclosure of what actually goes in products. Its easy to join and to participate. You’re not obligated to buy or participate in anything.

Healthy Baby Home Party

I was provided with so many products from Seventh Generation brand for gifts for my guest and one for me to pick! It included invitations which also included coupons in case anyone was interested in buying products prior to the party. 

These products safe for us and our family, but best of all of a great quality. A way my  guests were able to take these home was to play a fun game of healthy home bingo! Its a game but also a way of learning about the products. Also included, coupons! Lots of good coupons.

While not everyone was able to win a full size product, everyone got to go home with a bag filled with sample size products, coupons, and important information regarding the company and what ways we all can take to improve the way products are sold.

One of the things I really like about the Seventh Generation brand is the variety of household, personal care, and baby products available. You can have a choice of buying products that are scented but also that are free of dyes and scents.

Cal Water H2O Challenge’s Classroom Challenge

Another year, another chance for California teachers to get their students enrolled in the Cal Water H2O Challenge’s Classroom Challenge. There are so many reasons why its important to learn about water conservation and many ways to achieve that both in school and at home. There are also prizes to be won, a grand prize and four other prizes will be awarded to the winners of the challenge. All consist of grant money for the classroom as well as other prizes, details below.  

I will break down the details in a bit. I will let you know how in our family we have made changes to help with water conservation. We called our local electric company and they came over to check our appliances, windows, and faucets & shower heads. We were asked if we wanted low flow faucets and shower heads. We said yes, and we also got a new washer that would help saving water because of the settings. Using as little water as possible. Everything was free and they offer to installed everything for free. So check around and look for options to start saving water at home. 

The Challenge

Cal Water H2O Challenge’s Classroom Challenge is a project-based, environmentally-focused competition for classrooms, grades 4-6, designed in conjunction with NAAEE, the WestEd K-12 Alliance, and Cal Water.

This class-based project explores water as a global resource and as a local resource, while tackling a local water problem in an individual and community-based endeavor. It should last anywhere from 4-8 weeks or longer if teachers desires. The earlier you register the better.

Water Importance in CA 🌏💧

While water is essential to the entire planet, some areas around the world have become to know the importance of taking care of the water supply we have and how learning ways to preserve it is very important for the well being of everyone. 

In California, we have experienced some urgent need to learn how to save water. To not waste away and in the process “sacrifice” certain things such as green laws. This year, I am participating in sharing the Cal Water H₂O Challenge.Cal Water, in conjunction with NAAEE and WestEd K-12 Alliance bring this challenge together.This is a project for teachers and their students. In the past few years, I personally have been trying to adapt to using less water. Yes, it can be hard when we (I) have been used to using water freely since childhood. We often don’t think about how valuable water is and how easily it does go to waste every minute of the day. We have contacted our local electric company and they came to our home. They inspected our home and provided us with a new washer machine which wasted less water per use. Also helps with electric bills being down somewhat. This machine has different levels of size option loads. If I don’t have enough to make a small load I don’t wash at all. We have also found ourselves using low flow shower heads and faucets. Fixed two faucets that started to leaked. 

One leaky faucet can waste up to 2,000 gallons of water a year! Not only is it wasting water, but it will increase your water bill. Don’t think because water is “free” where you live, that it won’t end up costing you. If you rent, a landlord may increase your rent to pay the difference he/she pays for the water bill increase. Here’s a  drip calculator to show you how much water you are currently wasting if you in fact have leaky faucet.

💦California Water H₂O Challenge💦

Californians, if you are a student or a teacher listen up and learn how you can be part of this amazing challenge regarding water and also learn how you can win amazing prizes. You can join the challenge as a classroom or kids can choose to do this as individuals. I will break down the dates and some other important information regarding this challenge. 

As Californians, we have dealt with water shortage and for many it was because they were lacking water not only for personal use, but also for their business which is farming. Farming that essentially becomes part of us all. We are privileged to have water come to our homes but it doesn’t mean we can continue to be wasteful. While its important for students to learn about the importance of water, the one we consume and also how it affects us in other ways, I hope adults learn and practice better habits.

Cal Water H2O Challenge’s Classroom Challenge is a project-based, environmentally-focused competition for classrooms, grades 4-6, designed in conjunction with NAAEE, the WestEd K-12 Alliance, and Cal Water.

I first tried the skin perfector in 230 Beige shade because I have a slight tan and figured it would suit me well. Came to find out my face was not matching my neck. It was too dark. So I tried a shade down, the 220 Cashmere. Its a bit lighter and its actually recommended to go lighter when choosing between two shades. Even with the shade matching snafu I saw that on my very first try I noticed a difference in my skin. One layer showed improvement in minimizing some large pores around my nose and covered some brown acne spots not completely with with one layer but enough to see that for fuller coverage layering could be achieved easily. 

This picture shows the difference. Even on my nose there is a difference in how visible the pores are. It looks quite natural so its perfect for an everyday look and that’s how I’ve been using it on and off for several weeks. Specially now with the hot & humid weather we are having. 

The applicator which is also the way the product is dispense. This makes it easier to take just one product on the go. The cap closes tight no chance it would open on it own. Takes a few clicks to dispense. Dispense as needed. Its small enough to each under the eye and dotting product as easily as it is to draw lines on bigger areas. 

Like I said, I’ve been going for a less makeup is better with this hot weather. The Julep Cushion Complexion is a great product for this weather because I can hide any imperfection completely or just enough that I feel comfortable being out. If I sweat or get my face wet I can easily reapply the product all over or just were I need it. Not sure what I am going to do with the rest of the products I didn’t get to use. I want to try to see if I can contour with the darker one or give them to my family members to see if they like the product.

Love it!  A nice size. Its cute. And it smell amazing! It comes in six fruity flavors.This is in Revlon Kiss Balm 🍑 Juice Peach. Has SPF20 to protect your lips when using. I’ve seen this product and wanted to try it because I love having lip balms options and specially any fruity scented. Problem is some smell nice but dry my lips. Some moisturize my lips but don’t smell good and are too sticky. It has a slight tint. A sheer peach color. Has no wax so my lips didn’t feel sticky at all. Its quite long lasting even in harsh wind conditions.  To get the product out you just twist the bottom. 

       Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick 👄 Nude Attitude  

The Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Nude Attitude is a gorgeous nude color. On my medium skin tone it didn’t look so good alone. My lips looked a bit too pale for my liking. I did like how smooth it glides on. So I of course wanted to try out an experiment to make it work. I used several lip liners to add a little bit of color. All ranging in the nude & brown color. I love the results I got. I do recommend exfoliating lips prior to using this lipstick. It will show any dryness or if you have peeling skin. Learned that when I tested it the first time on dry lips. Not good! However, when properly lined with a rosie color or nude brown lip liner I had smooth lips like I did in high school. Well, colorwise anyway lol 

Revlon Ultra HD Metallic Matte Lipcolor 👄Glow

I’m showing this Revlon Ultra HD Metallic Matte Lipcolor in Glow pictured outside because it shows how its more true to color. I’ve said that when it comes to metallic lip products, I’m not an avid user. The bright colors are beautiful but I’m “afraid” to use them. This gives me the option of trying a bolder lip color within my comfort. It does have a shimmer to it. It goes on smoothly. The applicator is a nice size, not to big or too small and has rounded edges. Contains no wax so my lips are not sticky. Its not transfer proof but didn’t expected it to be. To me it has a scent of hazelnut. Very pleasant. The formula is so velvety. To keep in place I did outlined my lips with a nude color lip liner.

Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor 👄 Seduction

I love this lip product, I love the shade of color! This Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor in Seduction is awesome! My first reason to be so impressed is because it matches my bare lip color. So it means I can wear it even when I wear no other makeup like foundation. Again, I recommend to exfoliate lips and to line them with a nude color for a natural look, but can also be worn with other colors lip liner. It goes on matte but doesn’t dry my lips. The gel like formula makes it easy to apply. To avoid streaking I learned that for me it works better using my technique. This involves applying enough product on my top lip and spreading it across it, then in a soft downward motion apply it to the entire lip starting from one side and moving along to the other end. For the bottom lip I do the same procedure but in a soft upward motion. This too has a scent of hazelnut.

These products were sent to me to try complimentary from @crowdtap. I have experience with another of Revlon’s primer and another insta-blush. The 4-in- 1 blending sponge was new to me. I will tell you my experience about each one. 

The Revlon 4-in-1 Blending Sponge is designed to apply, blend, perfect, and contour. It has taken some getting used to in my case. I am comparing it to the one sponge I am more familiar with. Its bigger and thinner than my regular one. Unlike the green one, the Revlon sponge only states to use wet and doesn’t give an option for wet/dry use. I normally wet mine anyway, so for me it wasn’t an issue. The flat side is the part that indicates to use to blend in while the bottom rounded side to perfect the blend. I found it easier to use the bottom side to do both, apply & blend, and get a perfect coverup on my entire face. The pointier side is softer than the rest and easy to bend to reach the corner of the eyes. This sponge doesn’t absorb the product in. It comes in little case to keep it in. This is something I don’t have with my other sponge. It has air whole to keep the damp sponge from collecting bacteria. 

While I don’t usually use brighteners, I was excited to try the Revlon PhotoReady Brightening Primer. It looks and feels like foundation and its quite light in color. I’m medium beige in most beauty products I use to I was concerned it would show on my face that I was applying such a light color. In my opinion and from what I saw, it did look like I had the product on. It doesn’t show in the picture but in person its a slight different in tone. It does have a little of shimmer. Its so velvety and soft. Makes the skin on my face feel so smooth. I don’t wear this alone but you can. I wear this with some powder foundation for a natural “no makeup” look. 

Of the primers, the Revlon Pore Reducing Primer is my favorite. It has a flesh tone to it and goes on completely sheer. The only thing that is noticeable is the hint of shimmer. Just a few specs here and there that withe powder or liquid foundation, they are not noticeable. I actually wore this primer alone various times. While it doesn’t completely “erase” pores it does reduce their visibility like it promises. Its easy to apply with just my fingers. I did notice a thin layer is good enough and if I tried to layer a thick coat it would rub off some residue. A little goes a long way. I really like this product. 

💥For both primers I did notice that if I didn’t use it daily the product left on the nozzle because a little hard. So be advice to remove that residue before applying to skin. I didn’t the first few times and noticed it didn’t blend well and there were specs of product on my face. It was easy to remove but its best to discard. Its not much that will be discarded. 

I cannot tell you how much I loved this product before even trying it! Why? The color! This Revlon Insta-Blush is available in 4 shades total. This shade is Rose Gold Kiss. It looks like a rose pink but its actually quite sheer. If you own anything in the color rose gold, it pretty much looks like that on the skin. At least for my olive or medium being skin (in makeup). The flecks when the light hits shows a beautiful color. Its so creamy but feels like a powder when blending. You can use a brush or your fingers to blend. I prefer finger tips because the warmth of them I feel makes it even easier to blend it to my skin. It can also be use as a brow highlighter. For this I recommend a brush to apply as much as you like or if you have small eyelids. It gave me a nice natural cheek color. I feel this can be worn alone too or with minimal makeup.

Overall

My experience with these products have been positive. I have sensitive & combination skin. I didn’t have any sort of irritation from using any of the products. I made sure to wash my sponge prior to first use. I didn’t experience any breakouts. While it has a scent like all makeup, its not strong and its not noticeable once its on my face. These products are of great quality and can be found in many stores such as Ulta.

I have been using these Jafra’s Royal Jelly products for a little more than 3 weeks and unlike so many others I have tried these not only gave me overall results, but I also saw some difference in my skin within the first days of usage. If you want to see the rest of the Royal Jelly line go here. 

Gentle Cleansing Milk

This cleanser is in fact gentle. It however cleans out my skin so well without being harsh. Its very creamy, no exfoliating pearls, or strong fragrances. After the first use my skin was soft and clean but not at all dry from using it. I did have to read the instruction both on the bottle and the ones that came inside the product. Why? Because it says to rinse but it also says to rinse with warm water. Something I wasn’t used to reading when using cleansers. Usually its cold or lukewarm water. 

Used both morning and night. I don’t need a lot of the product to cover both my face and neck. 

Royal Jelly Global Longevity Eye Crème

This has been my second favorite product from the Royal Jelly line. Its a serum that absorbs so quickly without leaving my skin feeling tight and it doesn’t flake after it dries. Using my finger tip to cover under my eyes and over, but also I have been using it on my eyebrows. Sounds weird but as of late I have experienced dry skin in the part of my face. Specially where my hair isn’t growing back as fully. The results have been wonderful. No more flaky skin. My under eye area appear more rested. I wasn’t even aware how bad my eye are looked until I saw changes. 

Royal Jelly Vitamin Infusions - Spot Serum With Vitamin C

I LOVE this product. This Royal Jelly spot serum is AMAZING! I saw changes in my skin as soon as a week. Noticeable changes others saw too, My sister mentioned my skin looks smoother that I looked “younger”!!! Now that is something any woman loves to hear. My favorite change was the brown spots from acne on my forehead. I will include a picture. I really like that it absorbs quickly which with this line I have to wait for each product to dry before applying the next one goes one. My fine lines also on my forehead seem to be disappearing too. I have been so happy with the results I haven’t worn makeup for many days. The only “con” I have with this product is its scent. Its a bit perfumy but once I have it on my face I don’t noticed it much and it doesn’t cause me allergies.

Royal Jelly Solar Protection Fluid Broad Spectrum SPF 50

I use sunscreen all the time and mine usually are of thick consistency. This Royal Jelly solar protection fluid is a bit runny in the bottle. I’m not that impressed with those types of sunscreens. However, once I applied it to my face it smoothed over nicely. I was under the sun several times and with my other sunscreens I often get red spots on my face. With this sunscreen I didn’t have that experience. It also absorbs very quickly which is good for when I have little time to get ready in the morning. 

The steps to use this particular product is to use after cleansing and after smoothing on the spot serum. 

Royal Jelly Global Longevity Crème

This cream is so thick and there’s actually quite a lot of product in the packaging. The first time I used this global longevity creme I used too much. A little goes a long way. It helped me with the dry patches. Specially the ones I get around my chin and cheeks. It does have a scent but again, once on my face its not noticeable. Maybe its just me but I did notice that I looked shiny after a few hours. I have combination skin and the shine is pretty much around my t-zone which is not unusual for me to experience. Usually I just dust some powder one to cover it.

Revlon PhotoReady Collection

I was pretty excited to try these products from Revlon. What I love about these products its that they are hassle free to use. No need for brushes or sponges. For me personally that’s a good thing because while I do enjoy using makeup everyday I don’t have the time or patience. These products are not only hassle free, they are also affordable and go on so light they are perfect for the natural look.

Revlon PhotoReady Insta-Blush & Highlighting Stick 

Insta-Blush, while it does look a little dark than my usual peach to go blushes it goes on light but is buildable. Its super creamy. It does have a scent to it. This scent is not strong nor noticeable. Again, just using my fingertips I was able to apply and blend. 

Insta-Fix Highlighting Stick is also very creamy. The stick makes it easy to apply to the bridge of the nose and cupid’s bow. Its very soft and light. It also has a scent to it but not noticeable once I applied it to my face. I have light medium skin tone and the Gold Light shade goes on somewhat sheer. Again, great for day time use. 

Revlon PhotoReady Primer

This Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer is very creamy. The product is somewhat thick as it comes out of the bottle. However, when using my fingers to apply to my face it felt like velvet. Like it turned into powder right before my eyes. It doesn’t leave any residue behind. What you see in the picture above its actually a lot. A little does goes a long way. My skin felt so smooth. Doesn’t take long after applying to dry. I have sensitive skin and this is just so smooth and soft that I love that it doesn’t caused me any type of irritation.

Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor 💄

I received this trio of  Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipcolor from @crowdtap​. These lipsticks are amazing in my opinion. They have a beautiful color tint that last a long time. One of the things I love most about them is that they don’t dry my lips no matter how long I apply it. The range of shades are perfect for anyone. Two I feel for me can be everyday any time perfect. Those are the Sand and Vineyard. Sand however, feel is best for natural look all day. The Rhubarb I feel is more of a day out type of shade. At least for me. Its quite bold. So bright and beautiful. This last one does stain lips a little but after a little lip exfoliating it goes away.

I also noticed there was a slight fruity scent in all the lipsticks. Once I applied them to my lips the scent wasn’t not noticeable at all. The  Revlon Ultra HD Gel Lipstick is easy to apply, reaching the corners of the mouth and forming the cupid’s bow. When twisting the actual product, there is a clicking sound. Its seems to lock it so it doesn’t pull up the product which is good. I kept the Sand one in my pocket for a few hours and nothing got messed up.

Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today I’m going to talk to you about a project, nay, a challenge I had accepted to do a while back, but with a twist. I’m going to talk to you about a VERY important issue that affects all and currently more so in our state of California. That’s the water drought and what we can do to help the problem. 

I’m helping to promote the California Water H₂O Challenge which consists of schools in your area getting involved in working in a project to learn more about the problem and possible solution. This challenge is for grades 4 to 6. This is an a classroom project and each school/grade participating enters for a chance to win prizes one which is a $250 gift card.

Why it’s Important

In recent years we as Californians have experienced the worst water drought. In order to help the problem we all have to work together. Adults and children. Starting at home and trying to educate ourselves and one another outside the home. I can tell you from a personal experience where we had an outside spigot which began to leak. While we waited for the owner of the house we live in to come and fix it we put a bucket to catch “the few drops” falling so we can save the small amount to water our front yard tree. In a matter of hours that bucket almost filled all the way! It was scary to see that and realizing how many people were in the same situation. So much water wasted! 

Prior to that in our house we had worked on turning off the faucet when brushing our teeth. That actually saves gallons of water not in weeks but in just one day! 

For me its important because I have read and seen other states/countries suffer from dirty or no water at all. I don’t want to ever reach that level. 

Teaching Kids

Its important to teach kids about the problem without scaring them, but to help them understand the importance of saving water and help come up with ideas on what to do to improve our habits of using water and water preservation. Kids learn by examples and starting them early on healthy and smart habits will benefit us now and in the future. 

Working together with parents, teachers, and fellow students will help everyone to answer questions and concerns. It could also be educational not just for those participating in the challenge/pledge, but for anyone who talks to children at family gathering or similar events.

Healthy Baby Home Party

I was lucky to have received all these products free to share with some lucky parents in my Good Generation party. The Seventh Generation brand is one I trust myself and for my family. They dedicate themselves not only into selling products that are good for the environment but also safe for us, specially those with sensitive skin. L’Oréal Paris Revitalift Bright Reveal Collection

These products are suppose to help my skin feel and look better in 30 days with visible improvements the next day and then after week. 

I can honestly tell you that I have been trying these products for just a few day but didn’t see any difference on the first day. I never believe such claims anyway. What did notice was a softer feel after using just the daily Cleanser.

Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation & Airbuki Bamboo Brush 💗

I bought this Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation from Ulta.com but you can buy it directly from TarteCosmetics website. The price remains the same regardless where you purchase. I first did test the shade that would look best on me at an Ulta store but my shade wasn’t in stock. There are 16 shades and the best part is looking online here to help you determine which shade does with both your skin tone and undertone as each gives a description of it. 

I love that it has no fragrance whatsoever, goes one smoothly, and stays on for at least 6 hours straight, they claim 12 hours but I remove my makeup at around 6 hours. Its also vegan and cruelty free which is something I’m really into when buying beauty products. Sure I pay more but I think its worth the product. Its truly weightless. I couldn’t feel it on my face. My skin could breath. It helped my oily skin look fresh and covered. It says to be a full coverage foundation but I say depends on your skin needs. For me it was a medium coverage. Still I love it. I do like how the lid has a stopper to keep the powder inside the jar so nothing is spilled and wasted.

Tarte Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush

When I was researching about the Amazonian Clay Foundation this brush was recommended to use with it. I wasn’t exactly sure why until I started using them both. The brush head fits perfectly with the mesh sifter of the foundation. I push down the this  Airbuki Bamboo Powder Foundation Brush into the mesh sifter and see the product cling on the it. The handle is quite long for it being a kabuki brush. Again, in the websites images it looks shorter. The bristles on the brush are so soft to the touch. In circular form I buff on the foundation as needed. To clean just run it under water until water is clear.

I truly do love these two products. Both are vegan and cruelty free. I see myself buying this foundation again and plan on doing so on a lighter shade for the winter months. I bought the Tarte Amazonian Liquid Foundation but I have yet to use it. Will do a review on that when I do. This is not a sponsored review. I bought both of these products.
