im VERY new to radical feminism after finally breaking out of the cage of liberal and choice feminism so please correct me if i slip up <3
beliefs + tags i use under the cut
nuancefem/trans inclusive - critical but not hateful, i have a heart with space for dysphoric people and true transsexuals and believe in transition if medically necessary but not for minors
femme4butch lesbian - i am deemed a ‘feminine’ woman by society (despite not ‘performing’ femininity through makeup or shaving or even in dress) and have always been attracted to butches both platonically and romantically and will always stand up against lesbophobia and defend same sex attraction
gender abolitionist - ‘female’ is a neutral descriptor of biology and ‘woman’ is a gender construct meant to imprison females
disability rights - becoming chronically ill and being autistic has greatly impacted my activism and i am very big on also liberating disabled females
anti-porn - grew up with a porn addicted father (who recovered thank god) and it very much influenced his behavior so i will never change my stance that porn is a deadly drug that is poisoning males regardless of their identity
if you have anymore questions about me or my beliefs just ask !
tags : “— ballad of a homeschooled girl” (original posts), “— reblogs” (for reblogs duh), and “— u + me = <3” (for lesbian specific posts)
If trans women would just acknowledge that they're men who alter themselves to look like women, in order to ease dysphoria, I wouldn't have a problem with it.
I'm all for men wearing skirts. I'm all for men enjoying whatever stereotypically feminine things they enjoy. I'll even support medical transition, provided you're over eighteen, understand the health risks, and have faced persistent dysphoria.
The problem is that they've redefined "woman" to be a feeling. I can no longer use "woman" to discuss the tangible reality of having a female body. Presenting as women isn't enough for them, they have to be women.
Not only does this erode my ability to discuss sex-specific issues, but it leads to self-identification policies that allow men into female-only spaces. Female-only spaces that were created because of the physical threat men pose to women.
I was accused of "driving a shiv between cis and trans women," when I tried to discuss how cis women, face different issues from trans women. I didn't even say that trans women aren't women, but acknowledging a difference at all was enough to elicit hostility. (Their follow-up sentence was, "Someone should drive a shiv through you.")
My issue with the trans movement isn't dysphoric individuals trying to feel comfortable, but the denial of how biology impacts our lives.
"I support butches but not femmes because feminine presentation is an oppression and femmes takes too much effort to fall under the male gaze!" — Woke Radfems
You see, my purest form of femmeness is when I'm dancing by the beach worshipping the moon, singing in my mother tongue, while holding dead animals' bones. So try again.
i know every autistic person is different, it’s a spectrum of course, but why do i only ever see female autistics talk about shaving for sensory reasons ?? in that case wouldn’t more male autistics also be shaving regularly because they don’t like the sensation of body hair ?
speaking from my experiences as an autistic female, shaving has always been worse sensory wise then not shaving so im just very curious why this is the biggest argument for choice feminists right now
Do you have any radfem YouTube recs😭 I also can't find anything on yt and most videos are by liberal fems oversimplfying it/misunderstanding and then comparing it to Good Holy Amazing Liberal/Choice Feminism 🗣 lowk sick of it I wanna hear from actual radical feminists and women who actually know their shit lmao
Of course! Unfortunately the most popular vids/the videos that get pushed to the front by youtube when you search radical feminism are very rarely from radfems themselves
The first I want to recommend is runawaysiren940. she unfortunately passed about a year and a half ago, but she was an amazing young lesbian and shared a lot of her thoughts. rest in peace.
GNCCentric has a lot of videos where she reads lesbian and radical feminists texts as audiobooks, I’ve loved her channel for years
RadicalRamblings hasn’t posted in a while but has a good variety of stuff from reading radfem texts, posts, articles, and having stream conversations with her friends that are fun to listen to
WomensLiberationRadioNews reports on a lot of news on women’s rights worldwide and has some interviews, they recently had their 10th anniversary
there’s a few gender criticals from back in the day that I occasionally check on on, but most are straight and revealed themselves to be lesbophobic or anti-gender nonconformity in some way (or are just really out of touch)
also disclaimer that I don’t agree with everyone’s opinions on everything but that should go without saying
heyy love to see other femmes in the radfem community!! I see some anti-gay/lesbian culture by some radfems so it's like a breath of fresh air LOL 🫶🏼
yes i have seen this too sadly, ive seen a lot of them call butchfemme culture heteronormative and it makes me roll my eyes because two females dating will never be heterosexual
radfems protect gnc women from being called men because it’s sexist, you’re equating females not conforming to gender expectations to men, you’re no different than a homophobe
also, most radfems welcome ‘transmasc’ lesbians because, get this, they’re what ? female. and what are lesbians attracted to ? females
the level one autistics who try pushing for autism just being a ‘difference’ and not a disability have no clue what it’s like to be disabled by something. if autism wasn’t considered a disability, i wouldnt be able to get ssi which i require because i cant work, no i cant even mask enough to push myself through it, im completely incapable of masking or working even a part time job.
not to mention masking is such a privilege even if it sucks but they’re not ready for that one…
trans women who say they have a ‘period’ or ‘pms’ make me wanna tear my hair out, they will never understand how traumatizing female puberty is
i started my period in the third grade, the girls in my class were jealous because they wanted to ‘grow up’, to be noticed by boys and the boys in my class took that as a sign to start sexualizing me. i developed pmdd at eight years old and missed weeks of school because of how debilitating it was.
it was so humiliating, who would wanna opt into that ???
