i want doctor robby to be very slowly trying to father dennis- like giving him better clothes because hes 'doing a deep clean' or saying hes proud of him, just generally being a friendly and comforting presence of fatherly affection

so when doctor abbot starts buying dennis stuff or saying nice things to him dennis is like 'ah I seem to have acquired another father figure against my will, and honestly im already so overwhelmed with robby and all the weird childhood trauma this is bringing up, this has got to stop'

Robby saw dennis with a baby for a grand total of a minute and got baby fever so bad he practically pranced over to pedes to gain baby jane doe and I think that's hilarious.

Santos being this 🤏 close to cutting herself and deciding “fuck it I need a friend right now” and choosing Mel to be that friend because Whitaker may have chosen to stay but he has other things going on was such a good moment for her character because unlike with her season one final moment inviting Whitaker to live with her, which was her helping someone in need and she happened to get a friend out of it, hanging out with Mel is for her. She is seeking those connections now and that’s so good for her and especially because she’s chosen someone she’s tried so hard to connect with but keeps missing the mark but tries anyway and I love that for her.

Robby wanted to be married with 2 kids in college by his 50's. He wanted a house on land with a pond so he could play on the frozen water in winter with his kids.

And he got none of that. He got multiple failed relationships and one stepson who now hates him for something that isn't his fault. He is not really, truly known by anyone and so does not feel truly LOVED by anyone.

i cannot believe some people are taking whitaker's last scene as him being canonically straight.

like first of all, that scene did not confirm whether or not he's in a relationship with amy, and even if he was, that isn't proof he's not queer (or even proof he's not gay, he was raised in a Christian household on a farm in rural Nebraska after all)

and secondly, he literally didn't even say a word to amy. he barely even looked at her, and he only spoke to theo even when amy addressed him. that really doesn't seem like the way dennis would behave around someone he had romantic feelings for.

that scene really just reinforced the idea that dennis is very much queer and made clear that the main reason he's become so attached to amy and her farm is because amy has let him take on the role of her Man. he was raised with the belief that marrying a woman, having children, and being the breadwinner for his family is absolutely necessary for him to lead a happy, fulfilling life, and anything less is unacceptable. amy's situation is very convenient for dennis, letting him assume that role and just be a husband/father without actually having a romantic or sexual relationship with a woman.
