it IS inherently harmful to take a piece of TRANS MEDIA and ignore it. or outright say you HATE it. a CHARACTER does not have to OUTRIGHT SAY "oh by the way!! im trans!!" FOR IT TO BE TRUE.

i’m just gonna come out and say it: if you’re a queer person, especially if you’re another trans person, actively denying jax being canonically transfem, you are being transphobic.

like, what, is it a relatability issue? i’m transmasc and freaking lost my mind when jax described her coming out experience to her mom because it was eerily similar to mine. and also! holy shit a canonically trans character in a massive show on the big screen, and a complicated and nuanced trans character too! don’t we want more of that? you do realize this is huge for trans representation as a whole, not just transfems, right?

I think it's reasonable to say remember to be respectful to people that headcanon Jax's gender to be anything other than a trans woman. Bullying real people in defense of a fictional character is a stupid thing to do.

Also for the love of fuck shit and ass, please remember that Jax is not a real person and has no feelings on what his gender is and what pronouns people use for her. People who headcanon him to be transmasc, genderfluid, enby, or even cis aren't hurting a real person.

Jax is not real. You can't misgender her. She has no feelings.

misgendering a very clearly transwoman character who struggled to accept herself and her identity is still misgendering a character. this is a very weirdly worded post.

its not that hard to accept her for who she is.

characters who struggle to accept themselves should still be accepted by the community.

keep in mind, jax is gooseworx's self insert. gooseworx is a trans woman as well. she may have very well implemented some of her own struggles with her identity through jax. so, yes jax isnt a "real person" but was made by a real transwoman.

you can headcanon whatever, but you have to remain RESPECTFUL of who she is in canon.

btw just in general saying you cant misgender a trans character is weird as hell

(dont bully op, im not trying to be a bully either but genuinely its not hard to respect trans characters)
