How To Properly Disassemble A Spell Jar
Retrieving the Reusable Ingredients and Getting Rid of the Rest
Reusable ingredients include crystals, shells, rocks, bones, and anything else that can be used again. Cleanse them in smoke or water and reuse them in your next jar.
Trash
Throw the contents into the trash or a dumpster, if you don’t want it near you.
Burying:
This is a more respectful way to dispose of materials, as long as it's safe to do so. Dig a hole at least half a foot, place the herbs that were used in the jar inside, and bury it in the ground. Make sure it's biodegradable and safe for animals before doing this!
Burning It:
Put the offering in a fire safe container (a pot, cauldron, etc) and safely light it. Make sure it's completely burned (don't let it out of your sight until the fire's out!) and then spread the ashes on the ground away from your house.
Releasing:
Release the materials into a body of water. Keep in mind that not all organic matters are safe for the water or for fish, so look it up beforehand

There Is something deeply annoying about knowing just little bits of a language.
I remember tiny bits of some variety of náhuatl that my grand grandmother used to teach me, but they are so few that I wish I could had learned more
I think I will try to learn more in the near future
Hey uhm, sorry if I'm bothering you but can I please get some advice? You're the only person I can find in here who I feel like I can ask about this considering you're posts, so uhm recently I felt a pull to worship tezcatlipoca but I don't know what to do and how to make sure that what I'm feeling is real. And since you seem more knowledgeable then me in the topic, would you mind please helping me out? And this isn't the first time I felt like this, this has happened over three times all months apart. I've always liked tezcatlipoca and always had a fondness for him. And I was wondering I you could give me some advice or something like that. That would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.
Sorry for the waiting! Work has been a handful recently. There is no bother, no problem :>
Okay, so. Normally Tezcatlipoca's call is not easy to ignore neither to confuse. It's very particular.
The first thing you can do is try and light an incense, ease you mind. And pray for an answer. From a personal standpoint I stand with the people that says that, contrary to the popular belief, is not common for normal spirits or trickster spirits to try to pass as deities. So, normally you get a pretty stand forward answer if you ask.
But I recommend ask to another deity of your trust, Tezcatlipoca is a trickster after all. If you could try and ask Quetzalcoatl or Ometeotl (preferably The Ometeotl) it would be great, as I have said before Quetzalcoatl is really protective with humans but has a turbulent past with Tezca so their parents would be best me thinks.
You may also have been seeing signs. The most common are:
Suddenly you smell smoke
Suddenly you watch smoke
There is a lot of jaguar symbology, jaguar patters, or in general jaguar thing in you life suddenly
Sun is or giving you a hard time or a easy time
Your things are getting lost and you find them just when you don't need them anymore or when you get desperate
The jaguar thing but with owls, specially the ones that look like they have horn in their heads
Suddenly there is a good bunch of mirrors in you life
You feel more attracted to knowledge that normal and either anxious or relaxed about future
But hey, is not like a cooking recipe so you might feel things not listen here that says to you "Tezcatlipoca". I would recommend to ask.
Teotl Tezcatlipoca is a trickster, a playfully and mischievous one but he means no harm, if he is interacting with you is because he likes you or he is interested by you
Do not, really DO NOT give him blood. If you decide to work with him in the future and only after you two had constructed a firm relationship and you are pretty sure you want to, you can. But right now DON'T.
This is a general for most Mexica Teotls that actually liked blood in the past, is very easy for them to see that your offering your hand and they take the whole arm. Tezcatlipoca and Huitzilopochtli specially tends to be quite needy and entitled if you don't set boundaries first. Huitzilopochtli due to being ignorant to social clues and Tezcatlipoca because... It's his nature, he has always being spoiled.
And they can be and accompany you without you spilling a single drop of crimson liquid, don't feel ever pressured to give them.
Ah I have a lot of thoughts and experience to talk about the blood issue so I think I will expand in a post some day. General rule, don't give to them if you're a beginner or if you're trying to connect with them. And if you don't give GOOD there is no need
If you don’t mind me asking, how did you start worshipping the Teotl? I’m interested in reaching out to them, particularly the four Tezcatlipocas, Tlaloc, and/or Cipactli, but I’m a bit intimidated.
I understand they don’t require autosacrifice, but I’m still worried I won’t be able to offer them anything worthy of them, not to mention the fact that I can’t currently have an altar at all (maybe a digital/online one could work, but again, I’m worried that wouldn’t be good enough idk). I worship the Netjeru already, however, they seem to be much more laid back with what they are given.
Am I just overthinking all this? Do you have any advice?
Oh I understand that thay can seem intimidating, they have quite a reputation after all.
But no worries that actually the best way to start is actually with the sweetest of them all. Quetzalcoatl Teotl. He is known as the White Teztaclipoca, our lord of the winds AND our lord of the humans(among other various things). He is the most patient, lovable and kind. And has a tendency to be the first one to present if you call for the mexica gods
And don't worry about what you can offer to them! They will appreciate it no matter what it is! Don't overthink it!. And for the likes and dislikes of the Teotls I think most pages including them are in spanish so if you want I can make a little list of their likes and dislikes.
I'm not sure what's happening with Tezcatlipoca and the others.
I have a bracelet for each one of them (aka 4), and I have always let them "sit" next to whoever they want. Usually they combine 2 and 2 or are just the four of them in one hand.
But since 2 weeks ago Pan, Huitzilopotchli and Quetzalcoatl avoid Tezca like the plague. The 3 of them just choose the opposite wrist to him... Everytime! They get him to be the first or the last one but he always ends up alone :(
Things worked out for the better :]. Apparently he was just being to much of a menace to society and the other were not having it.
Things are way better now :>
// WitchTok
I absolutely do not touch WitchTok.
I have a friend that is begining to learn about paganism and oh boy she has told me things.
From what I have heard they are super elitist to the point to told people that if you don't get that specific herb for x or y deity they will hate you :/. And that if you don't have a perfect displayed expensive altar your prayers don't count(?)
My friend has anxiety and almost got a panic attack from what she was reading. I just give her classic books to read for the better.
Online helps is absolutely ok, but just... TikTok is already a festival of misinformation to any subject, be careful
a bit of advice for my fellow polytheists out there:
use the first of the month as a day to check in with your deities or other spirits you work with!! let them tell you whatever it is that they need to tell you and use that guidance to help you throughout the rest of the month!

Just your friendly reminder that you can totally be friends with the deities you work with.
Not all deities will be friendly with you, some deities teaching style is strictly teacher/student dynamics
But if you work with a deity that is either very friendly, or very chaotic (looking at you Loki) then try and be friends with them! Play board games, listen to music with them, light their candle just because you want to hang out.
There is nothing wrong with having a nice friendly bonding time with a deity you work with. Depending on what deity it is, I guarantee they will appreciate it.
Bonding is the only way to get close enough to a deity to have a good back and forth relationship with them.
Ask the deity first before you try and be good friends with them, see if they are ok with it. Because again, some deities don’t want to be your friend and just want to be your strict teacher. It depends on what their specific teaching style is.
when my patron sees im drawing something and says "put it on the altar" with the same energy as "put it on the fridge"
Friendly reminder that if someone asks you (especially in a condescending fashion), "Well, how does your faith / belief system account for this aspect of my faith / belief system?" as a method of attempted invalidation, you are perfectly within your rights to respond with the same damn question.
Or, if you're feeling spicy, with a heartfelt, "It doesn't fucking have to."
The Gods do not "fade"
They are immortal. They are deathless.
Stop saying that the gods have faded. Its so wrong and hurtful to say.
"Forgotten" is the right word to use.
There was a time when these Greek, Norse and Egyptian gods were forgotten by the people. Simply because of new religions taking over. (Christianity and Islam). So people simply stopped worshipping these gods and they were eventually forgotten. But due to modern interpretations and people studying religions, the spotlight went back on these gods and people started worshipping them again. And now, around the world, there's a large population of Pagans.
I have also seen, many people saying, the Hindu gods are "dead" or have "faded" even though the religion is still active. The gods have been there for too long and now they have left us.
NO! They aren't dead. They haven't faded.
They were here with us for millions of years and they would be here when we would be wiped out from the earth. They are forever and deathless.
NONE OF OUR PAGAN DEITIES ARE GONE!
spring allows so many things to grow and begin again. you deserve to spend your spring growing and beginning again.
How could you NOT fall in love with the glow of the moon and stars, the warmth of the sun, the ancient life within the trees, and the sweet melodies of the winds?
note to self :
i think it's important to remember that your religion and your traditions, the holidays you celebrate and the daily/weekly/monthly/yearly rituals you decide to do, should all add serenity and balance to your life.
it's important to remember that you make your traditions and your beliefs, you choose your traditions and you have the right to see a common tradition/belief/holiday celebration and decide "nope that's not for me."
spring is so consistently healing for me !!! I always forget how much my mood is impacted by the weather until the sun comes out and the trees start growing leaves again and everything is good
