What to say? Here, I think I want to place the randomness in my head out for you to see. Sketches, comics, comments--I want to say them out loud. Maybe they'll be ignored, but that's fine. At least I've said it. And if someone likes it, that's nice too.

"Bright Eyes... Burning like Fire..."

Watership Down is one of my fav books and I wanted to have some merch of it. However, I decided to make my own after searching what was out there. This one's more symbolic and a "deep cut". I also included an alt. version after feedback. Lemme explain the design!

The numbers are the actual coordinates of Watership Down in England. The sun, of course, represents Frith. But, the pointy part references the compass on the cover of earlier editions of Watership Down. The red represents Frith in the movie, the yellow half circles are him in the TV show, and the wavy lines are him in the graphic novel.

I feel like I was able to meet my vision with this, and it's nice to be able to buy this art I made so that I can wear it on a shirt. It's not the most obvious reference, but that's fine by me.

i want to do a painting of a tiger taking a bath to put in a bathroom (bathroom-themed bathroom) and to this end i made a little maquette out of clay and i suspect this will scope creep into having both a painting and sculpture of a tiger or perhaps only a sculpture of a tiger. if i do both should they be displayed together or separately

Working on cutting out a large piece of wood to do the painting on, which is a constraint that will either be really fun or really annoying. Maybe both

Wood primed and underpainted and sketch transferred mostly by cutting it out in different chunks and tracing around them. Stripes to be determined. Nobody let me work on this again for at least two weeks

Commission for a little canadian fabric shop. The whole composition is based on the original tales. This work really exausted me, the worst part was balance colors and composition, but at least i’m satisfied. Some zoom on the single character may help you see better all the details :)

ok so this is another long shot but a few years ago there was a twitter post (in japanese i think?) that had measurememts for how to make this book stand thing out of cardboard that you could use to double up books and use up more space on shelves

back then i made a bunch of these but by now i lost the pic and dont know how to find the original post anymore

if it comes down to it i can just take one apart and get the measurements from there but i would be very grateful if anyone happens to have the original post or something similar??

don't mind how long it's been since i made this post, anyway i realized that i don't even need to take one apart to get the measurements when i can literally just unfold it and refold it /FACEPALM

so anyway here is the diagram for anyone else who is interested!!

this requires pretty big carboard pieces, if you have a really big box or something you can make it from one piece, but if you don't, you can also just make each of the pieces individually and then tape them together

and then in the end you put it together like this!!

and then when you make a bunch you can put them all next to each other and stack your books like crazy
