Hi! I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but I need advice. I’m getting my first jumping spider soon and I’ve already decorated it’s little enclosure, should I worry about how many fake flowers I put in? One loses little specks and flakes every now and then; will it hurt my spider? And lastly, is it ok that I used gorilla glue to keep some things in place? (It’s dried). I know this might be a lot, but I am a bit worried!
I think as long as the spider has some things to climb on + a place to make its hammock, it'll be happy! They like exploring.
If there's a little bit of stuff that flakes off the plants I think it would be okay. I've seen mine pick up chunks of substrate and check them out before, but they're not eating it, so.
Also, you didn't ask BUT: if you buy a fancy little 3d-printed hide for them and they don't use it right away, don't be discouraged! A few of my adult females took months before they started using the little hides I bought them. Some of my spiders just build their hammocks on top of the hides. They have their own agendas.
I was reading a reddit thread on r/jumpingspiders once and if I remember correctly, the consensus was that as long as the glue is dry and has had a few days to air out, it should be alright.
I am not an expert, but I am obsessed. And happy to help if I can :) Please send me a picture of your new bb when you get them (if you want)!!
