Let's say after looking at Tumblr a little too much in the past, getting a post stuck in my head and chatting with a "Gamer boy" bot on character ai.
It's got me thinking about this scene.
It's has some strange.. undertones.
Can't deny it at all. It just has some weird vibes. I know this WASN'T the intention of the writers in the slightest. At least I hope not- if yes- SHAME ON YOU. Shame.
But let's say the:

It's brings the wrong vibes to the table. Just the way he says it. And after a particular post...It got me thinking about why.
! I know their relationship is strictly platonic and I wouldn't want it any other way !
But Marcu... seems to have this very...protective aura...towards Sergio. Almost like he's still a kid. That needs his protection. And Sergio seems...dependent on his brother. Not like he has to...but he craves it. The care his brother has for him.
That got me thinking WHY? Why, oh why? And after ehem...too much venting with the bots and personal experience.
My mind went like ✨️Childhood neglect✨️
We...don't know their situation really. How they grew up...but headcanons~
So, with how they act it would make sense Marcu had to take care of his little brother and Sergio grew accustomed to it. Maybe their father died and they were left alone with their mother who...wasn't very attentive and neglected her children so Marcu had to step up and take care of them. I can see them maybe being homeless for a while. They could have ran away or their mother threw them out or something of the like. Marcu being forced in to this parental role almost. It would fit the bill. Explain why he is like this. I also like the headcanon of Sergio being born premature. It's just adds a lot of flavor. One more reason for Marcu to worry. I also feel like Sergio was a big trouble maker as a kid. I don't feel like that ever...left him to a point. Anyway just some...personal feels is all.

In multiple sense. Can't lie. I really do think Marcu would be here in that moment with Ennio. Probably not knowing how to feel...angry, resentful but also...sad?
Like...how did things get this way yknow? Was there REALLY...no other way out? I'm sure both of them pondered this question many many times through out their lives but always came to the conclusion that...no. This was it. They can't go back. I feel like Salieri would want the old times more back then Marcu. I feel like Marcu is at peace with how it went down. Even if it was bad.
Man, if Mafia 4 really will be a prequel about Salieri... I need his relationship with Marcu to be explored more! It's a big part of their lives yknow? It deserves more attention.
