Anyone else feel a near-constant need to rework the art that they thought was "finished" not too long ago??

So anyway, here's Renga again! I think I'm happier with this version. Considering making it a riso print if the lines will translate okay.

Initial rough sketch vs page drawn digitally (still in progress). It can be fun to see how something so messy can get cleaned up and polished. Alfie and Andrés' first meeting. :') Andrés has something Alfie needs (just a marble...absolutely nothing else, of course).

Wasn't sure what to work on, so decided to do a little kissing study since I'm trying to loosen things up. Used Isak and Even as my reference, but took some liberties (mostly the hair). Feel free to project whoever you would like onto these two ;)

Alfie and Andrés. <3

Alfie (dark hair) communes with spirits (well… as much as you can commune with brain-rotted souls stuck in purgatory), has the attention span of a gnat, and can’t stop obsessing over the sexy professor harboring a screaming, spirit-tethered marble.

Andrés (silver fox) is the Spanish language professor who seems to have a knack for calming the noise in Alfie’s brain.

Considering redoing this one because I feel like I can make it looser. Alfie is also not usually so serious. ;)

First time posting art on Tumblr with a mini intro to two OCs for my graphic novel (Ordinary Objects) and a request for input!

Jude (dark hair) is super-strong, roller derbies in her free time, and can coincidentally shift between genders.

Eddy (redhead) is, well… just Eddy. Bass player, Bowie cosplayer, and Jude’s biggest fan.

SO.

I greatly enjoy a painterly style with lots of rendering and tons and tons of colors, particularly with my background in traditional art. BUT, I have recently discovered risograph, and I am realizing I also love a graphic, color-blocked style. I will most likely go for the latter for most of my paneling because the rendering in the former is a lot. I will probably reserve that for things like covers, spreads, etc. But I wanted to do a poll and see what other people prefer!

As a later-in-life queer, I can't imagine ever going back. My queerness is a gift and I was so numb without it. Now I want to be queer in every life and every possible timeline.
