The simple act of moving into the room was enough of a distraction for Austin to actually let his own heart rate die down, find some of his senses that he had lost in the heated embrace. However that was only momentary. His body stopped quickly as his eyes came upon Kyle, met by the dead on gaze towards him by his best friend. He wanted to question if the Canadian knew what he was doing, but the words couldn’t come out as he was pulled in by some gravitational force towards the older. Now in the safe confines of his hotel room, away from any of sort of watchful eye, his hands grasped at both sides of Kyle’s neck as he moving in for yet another kiss. He could have started asking questions, interrogated Kyle on his sudden actions however the fear of what crashing reality would bring kept all questioning thoughts trapped in the confines of his mind - for a later time.
Kyle, honestly, was glad that Austin hadn’t tried to ask. There would have been no viable answer for him, coming from the Canadian’s lips. And if there had been? It likely wouldn’t have been anything that the other wanted to hear. Which could have broken things between them again - something that he was sure the both of them didn’t want. It was good to have this back. This man. His best friend. Someone that, despite all that had happened between them and all that the older had said and felt, knew him about as well as anyone else in this world. It was hard to be removed from that kind of thing. So he stayed stuck. Hard. His hands finding the others hips, gripping hands in the material of his shirt as it lay there, a short mutter of a moan running into the contact and his eyes squeezed shut tightly - he gave back everything that the other was willing to give him.
Austin was far from aware of what he was even saying before Kyle had asked him ‘with who?’ clearly thinking he was of right mind the moment he pulled away, the main reason behind his features flushing a deeper shade of red. He could hardly tell you what day of the week it was but he sure as hell wasn’t going to forget any of this moment - not the shock from the first contact of lips against his own, the way the older’s hand gripped at his shirt or even how it felt being trapped against the door. Interestingly enough in the end Kyle would be the only person alive who’d be able to say ‘Austin allowed me to kiss him in public’ and it wouldn’t be a lie. “Right,” he only chuckled out nervously as he turned to unlock the door and pushing it open, “grab the sushi would you?”
Kyle didn’t move. Not really, at least, when Austin turned towards the door to unlock it. It left the other pinned pretty much still to the door - a looming presence behind him that held those still puppy dog eyes and a slightly conflicted expression. Not in a bad way, and that would have been obvious, but the Canadian had never exactly been the best at keeping thoughts from crossing his features as they came into his head. And the absent, second long bite to his lower lip would have answered a question or two. Or raised another few. “Yeah...” it was an absent-minded answer, his frame bending awkwardly at the side to pick up the sushi from where the bag had dropped from the floor - following his friend into the room as he finally got the door opened and pushed wide for them. Entering in behind Austin, Kyle quickly slipped past him and to whatever table in the room he could put the food down on before turning, looking at the other dead on.
The sound and feeling of Kyle’s moan into his mouth was purely enough to leave Austin breathless, make his toes curl in the confines of his shoes and bring it back into reality. The need for air burned harshly in his lungs while the pained worry of what would happen if he pulled back from the sweet flavor of his friend’s mouth against his battled almost too ruthlessly, leaving him with little of an option. The Pennsylvania native pulled back with a deep intake of air, taking a quick moment to look around at his surroundings - his cheeks flushing instantly at the fact that they had yet to make it into the room. “Y-you should come in with him,” his voice cracked as he stuttered with each syllable, pressing his back against the door.
“With who?” his own tone was clearly dazed as Austin pulled back from him, his instinct taking him for another lean in before he stopped just short of their lips touching. Panting there softly, hooded eyes forced themselves open just enough to look into the others bright blue pair. And then it clicked. Come into the room. With him. Probably for some more of what they were doing right now, and that he was going practically cross eyed to watch the others expression for getting as close as he was to do it again. But did he want to? Inside meant privacy. Inside surely meant wandering hands and heavier petting. Inside meant a lot of things that Kyle wasn’t sure he was ready for. But damn, he’d fucking find out pretty soon. Small, nervous smile spreading over his cheeks now, “...You have to, uh, open the door.”
As the moments ticked away, the confusion that the younger had once felt started to melt away every part of his being focusing on placement of the other’s hands and amount of space vanishing. Austin’s other hand now freed of the task of clinging on to a plastic bag instantly grasped at Kyle’s bicep, his body leaning forward into the other. There had been moments in the past that he had been here, in this exact position - however the feeling was different, very different. Dull nails scratched softly at the base of Kyle’s hair line as Austin’s tongue slipped out slowly trailing it’s only line teasing line against opposite flesh.
He activated that certain side of Kyle that he usually kept quiet - his needy side - with the intrusive taste in his mouth. Even if it was only gentle, a small little offer of the others tongue to chase what he himself had offered; it was still something. It was something that he wanted. Something that a part of him really needed, to rid him of a thirst that had sat there for what felt like the longest while. And for that little trigger he offered, Austin earned himself a moan. Low and almost whiny, the Canadian let the sound run into the others mouth, his nails dragging dull against the door and his body pushing tight against smaller own.
In spite of the sheer elation Austin had started to feel he couldn’t help the short subconscious list of things he needed to question: starting with where is this coming from. The younger hated to think that this was some sort of grief coping tactic that was designed to give his best friend temporary comfort - but that seemed to be the nature of the skeptic that lived deep down. His feet shuffled back slightly as the slightly taller man closed the space between them, his back resting against the cool metal of his hotel room door - light blue eyes slowly falling closed. Fingers that gripped harshly at the plastic bag slowly relaxed letting it finally fall to the ground as a muffled sound of delight left Austin - feeling Kyle’s tongue glide against his lower lip. A small part of the younger man wanted to at least get into the room while the other longed to stay in this moment for as long as Kyle felt comfortable. His lips parting just enough to let the wet muscle entrance as the hand that rested on the side of the Canadian’s neck slowly trailed it’s way to rest on the back of his head.
He heard the bag hit the floor, vaguely, and considered pulling back to rouse on Austin for it. After all, if he was still trying to cheer Kyle up then harming the perfectly good sushi wasn’t exactly the best move. But that was futile; and would have only confused the younger more. Right now, they both had more important things to focus on. Pushing his body in forward again, tighter this time, one hand slid up over chest and to rest on the door beside Austin’s head, the other moving down to rest on his hip. He’d been here before, obviously, but he’d only ever been on the other side of the exchange. He’d only ever been the one that was lead into the affection - the one that felt the whine in the back of his throat as he was pushed against the door. This? Wasn’t easy for him. Tongue darting further into his mouth before shying back into his own - he tried to lure Austin into taking control.
There were a good number or responses that Austin had himself prepared for and yet he received none of them - Kyle had completely thrown Austin off track with this one. In the back of his own mind’s eye he saw the reaction he had gotten from Kyle the moment his own confession of love slipped past him and the months it took for them to even be back at the level they were at now. Those very memories were the only thing that kept Austin from reacting the way his own body had wanted him to - feeling his own arm stiffen as he clutched at the bag of food and his breath catching in the back of his throat. Was this really the thing that was going to make Kyle feel better? It was so abrupt and sudden, he couldn’t wrap his mind around it being true, he had to force himself to pull back. Bright blue, shock blown eyes immediately locked on the Canadian’s lips, lips that had felt far too good pressed upon his own. The Pennsylvania native’s body reacted almost instantly stepping back into his Kyle’s personal space, his free hand cupping at the side of the older man’s neck as he moved in pressing another kiss soft kiss against Kyle’s - almost asking if this was really what he had wanted.
Kyle’s own eyes had closed in the seconds leading up to the kiss, but they grew hooded and heavy as he tried to open them enough to see Austin’s face. The shock was understandable, but he might have thought that he’d get a little more of a kiss out of the younger man first. This was the kind of thing that the other wanted, after all. Right? Confirmation of some sort. Affection, maybe. The answer to at least one question that had hung between them, even if it was at the expense of opening up to several new ones. Oh well. When Austin finally stepped back in, though, Kyle’s hands dropped some. Letting the other take a little bit more of a lead, his own fingers curled slightly to clutch loosely at the shirt covering his chest. He didn’t need to give verbal response; just reciprocate what was given to him. Head tilting just slightly into the kiss, he felt his frame pushing forward against the smaller mans own, putting him lightly up against the door. An action that somewhat inspired him further the contact; his tongue slowly sneaking in to glide along opposing lower lip.

It had only been a few hours ago that the show had ended, since the main event that was punctuated with Jay still standing tall as the World Champion. The obvious toll it took on Kyle was clearer to Austin than anything else had been in the entire night, and was more than enough for him to push aside his own frustrations over the entire evening to the point that the younger had exhausted every idea he had to make his best friend at least smile. The moment they stepped in front of Austin’s hotel room door a soft frustrated sigh finally pushed past his lips as his hand gripped tightly at a bag of overly priced take out sushi - the idea that nothing he could think of worked being a more difficult pill to swallow finally getting to him. “Alright, I give up,” he never liked admitting his own defeat but he couldn’t help it, “is there anything I can do that will help you feel better tonight?”
He shouldn’t have been so down about it, he knew. Austin had been the one to take the fall, and Kyle had gotten his spot to look like he could go over on the champion; but the idea of being that guy that always fell short? It sucked. He’d never liked the look on anyone else, so he wasn’t exactly about to be that okay with seeing it in the mirror either. So he’d pouted; somewhat. Whined; just a little. Threw out the regular bullshit of just being tired and feeling the work of the match getting to him. But his best friend hadn’t listened. And why should he have? It was obviously all lies, and he had no problem admitting at the moment that Austin was back to being one of very few that he knew had him pinned pretty well. They were back to normal again. So where did this sudden curiosity come from, that could have fucked it all right back up? It’d been in his mind for weeks now, since the Canadian had forced himself to get over the anger and confusion he was holding on to. And right now--? The only way he could think of answering that question posed to him was with pouncing on it. Pale hands raising up to either side of the younger mans neck, he dipped in to catch his lips in a kiss that wasn’t any rougher than you’d assume something from Kyle could come, but it was one that was obvious he didn’t intend it to stop right away either.
Of course at the time Kyle didn’t know his rooming arrangements for the latter part of the year with everything that had happened taken into account - Austin had moments of not wanting to be alone. “Before his and Maria’s contracts were up - we kind of came to an understanding and I guess we’re friends,” words chosen so carefully as he shrugged slightly, “he was just kind of there? There enough to catch me in the act.” A nervous laugh pulled from the younger as he gazed down at the table, “Mike wasn’t a bad guy to have around but I mean he’s no you, won’t ever be you at that.” He probably would never be able to admit to anyone else that he and Mike were friends now, and probably wouldn’t have admitted to Kyle if he hadn’t brought up moments before.
The look of surprise on his face was obvious at the others admission, Kyle having very little belief in the possibility of receiving that answer until it was hitting his ears. Austin and Mike actually being friends? Something about it felt dirty. Wrong. Like this was something that the man across form him now would never actually want or be that comfortable with, but he was still... doing that, for some reason. If he’d found himself to be more important, the Canadian might have actually found the clear way to blame himself. Instead, he just remained being confused. Maybe one or the other man had changed. “Heh,” it was an an awkward little noise that came with a quick exhale out his nose - a makeshift laugh. Austin’s words sounded too romantic to him. “No one really compares to me, though.”
“We are reDRagon, and we will kick your ass!”
Mentally, Austin had prepared himself to not be upset or disappointed when Kyle wanted to up and leave but the idea he’d stay and talk never once crossed his mind. A small part of himself told him to not get overly excited and just go with the flow and things would be fine, thus ending up being the case - even biting back that small tinge of jealousy at the mention of Bobby’s name. Austin chuckled softly and shook his head, “at least Bobby would be somewhat understanding about why, and not try to insist that you find a girlfriend or whatever Mike thought I was into that the moment.” As the words left his lips, he was swift in his action to take a long drink from his now lukewarm coffee, speaking again after a few moments, “but you’re always somewhat modest.”
Raising his eyes up to rest on the other mans face following his words, watching him take the long drink of coffee with a titled head and a slight look of curiosity. It was like a puppy dog expression, especially given how he seemed to have forgotten to actually speak whatever was in his mind at the time. Blinking at the words of modesty, he shrugged his shoulders, brain jogging into gear. “You’ve been rooming with Mike?” That seemed confusing enough. What about Maria? “Or... you just tell him when you’ve spend the night jacking off?” Also a confusing thought, given that as far as he knew - Adam and Mike weren’t close. Not after everything. But then again; when Kyle and he weren’t talking, who else on the roster did he really have the option to go to?
Austin for the first time in their meeting felt himself start to shift slightly in his seat from a small case of confusion induced discomfort. An odd feeling around Kyle for the younger, even with all of the tension and confusion that seemed to have loomed over head following his confession. He kept his own bright blue hues focused on Kyle until the sound of clanking cups caused him to jump and look away for a moment only to find that his friend seemed to have found the thought he was looking for. Now it was Austin’s turn to feel his own cheeks heat up, a blush crossing over his own features as his own gaze downcast at the table for a moment. “Well… I can’t say it hasn’t crossed my mind more than once,” he admitted quietly, letting himself let go of the hot air he felt that he was holding on to for too long.
And there was that reminder again - that Austin wanted him. That this whole thing wasn’t just some kind of banter between them anymore, pretending to be that little bit closer and that little bit more than they were. Or just talking shit for the sake of talking shit. Then it hit him once again, like it had so many other times, that all of that might not have been exactly that in the past either. Adam had been experiencing these feelings for a long time now, right? It was what he acted like, at least. Hand moving to the back of his neck, he rubbed at the awkward tension there before snorting softly and pulling one corner of his lips up. Keep it light. “I don’t have much time to do that, do I? I room with Bobby most the time.” What he didn’t say was that Bobby had been there, for that, in the past. Maybe helped once or twice before, too.
“Uh….. I never really thought of it? I mean about being the bottom being a beginner thing,” it wasn’t a hard thing for Austin to even admit, seeing how for as long as he could even remember he felt more comfortable being a bottom - even with his own lack of experience in the matter. Nibble fingers started to play lightly with the handle of the spoon he had once used to stir his own coffee with, an action only taken when he really had no clue what he was supposed to say or react - a feeling that was only amplified by the slight blush he noticed on Kyle’s face. “I mean it’s all supposed to feel natural and uh… I don’t think who has more experience or not determines really who’s top or bottom.” Austin snorted softly at Kyle’s question and shrugged, “I don’t know if I want to answer that one or just let your imagination decide if it was a sexual metaphor or not.”
Kyle spent far longer mulling over Austin’s words than he would have liked. It all sent him down the rabbit hole that was questioning sexuality, preference and the various arrays of positions with their connotations. He went so far down that rabbit hole, in fact, that he’d grown to have that slightly glossed over look; the same one that he would get when he was either remarkably tired, or getting low on his sugar. Though this was just in thought, and it would have been evidenced by the slight blush that came over freckled cheeks as some loud noise around the cafe snapped him back to reality. Snapped him back to blinking wide, puppy dog eyes at his friend. Clearing his throat, he tried to push out the thought that he had wound himself up in. Kyle had bottomed. Once. It wasn’t a traumatic experience by any means, but it hadn’t been exactly what he preferred. So Austin had to have been right. Right? “Do you--” stopping to clear his throat once more, shifting in his chair, cheeks grew just that little bit redder as his eyes ducked down. There were other memories roaming in the back of his head now. “Do you think I spend a lot of time masturbating?”
Austin just mindlessly shrugged his shoulders at both questions offered to him about both bottoming and topping, the younger man taking into account the hesitance between each response he had gotten. It took almost everything in him to just ignore the fact that no matter what their conversations would be very different and they had been since the day the younger confessed his own love for his best friend. “There really isn’t anything innocent when it comes to either, I guess,” he spoke softly with a cracked smile on his face, “it’s all two bodies coming together as one acting out on their own lust.” He glanced up and smirked a bit, “but that still doesn’t mean that you aren’t this innocent little puppy who just wants to chase his own tail til you pass out, otherwise.”
“But the bottom is still supposed to be more of the like.... beginners end of the deal, right?” He was showing a severe lack of knowledge for something that he might have had a dabble in before. There was no one around to say, other than himself, whether he had or he hadn’t. But he knew that the questions were likely going to come across as Austin as a lack of experience with men in general, which was fine by him. For the most part, he was actually curious towards the younger man’s perspective on the whole thing. After all, Kyle had always kind of assumed Austin as a bottom himself. Eyes darting away from the others features, his cheeks took a soft pink tinge at the way that the other explained it; something about it embarrassing, but also slightly attractive. It would have been the perfect show of his puppy chasing a tail analogy. “Is that a metaphor for masturbating?”
The blush that crept over his own pale skin felt comparable to a wild fire than the normal slow simmering burn when comments were made in passing, leaving the younger utterly confused by the sheer sensation of it all. He could feel his own words becoming trapped in his throat as his own wind pipe seemed to have constricted all on his own - Kyle’s words, that one sentence flooded back every joking conversation in the past. He simply pulled his coffee cup up to his lips, putting on the facade of being deep in thought over the question as opposed to the shock that coursed savagely through his body. “No….No…..not a bad dream, I mean having my world rocked isn’t a bad thing at all - but wait - I don’t think seeing you as clear as day means I just want to bottom to someone.” He simply smirked, putting his cup down and leaning back into his seat, “must have a thing for the innocent types.”
Having his world rocked? Dammit if Austin wasn’t trying to make it so that Kyle exuded every bit of his effort to keep his cool and remain on the level he’d started, then he really might have been more oblivious than the Canadian himself usually was. Yes, it was pretty typical banter for them under the normal circumstances - but getting those ‘normal circumstances’ back? He wasn’t sure it was possible. At least, it was pretty unlikely. Then again, Kyle had been wrong about more sure things in the past... “Bottoming to someone that you count as the innocent type doesn’t really fit... does it?” It was spoken only after a moments hesitation as he forced himself into the right mindset, eyebrows furrowing slightly as he thought about his own personal preferences - ones that the younger man still didn’t know of. Hell, hadn’t that been half of his issue when the LOVE confession came? “Topping doesn’t seem like a very innocent thing to do, is it?”
