**This will be updated as I post more imagines. All imagines were transferred over from my Wattpad account OT5Stan4Life**
A/N: this is my very first NMIXX imagine and I’m so excited for you guys to read it. I’ve been so into them lately, even more so after seeing them on tour, so I’ll definitely be writing more about them. Stay tuned!
"Good practice guys," I praised, standing with my hand outstretched as my soccer teammates walked past, each reciprocating my high five. The outside air had grown cold now that the sun had set past the dense forest surrounding the field. The breeze felt nice against my skin that was still warm from a recent shower.
Our rigorous practices often went on long past sundown and tonight would've been no different if it wasn't for our academy's end-of-semester party. I wasn't one to indulge in the more 'wild' college activities, but I knew the girls on my team had been looking forward to letting loose after a difficult semester. That's one of the reasons I decided to give them the rest of the night off.
"Please be safe tonight, guys," I shouted over to my teammates as they all headed back towards campus, only to receive a few unserious replies. Should've expected nothing less from them, though I would've appreciated a couple 'thank you's for letting them leave early. I didn't dwell on it too much.
Though, when I noticed one of our academy's cheerleaders leaning against the metal bleachers a few steps ahead of me, flipping her hair to one side when she caught my eye, I had a feeling at least one good thing might've come out of my decision.
"Yes, Yoona?" I asked, feigning innocence, though I already knew her intentions were anything but. "Can I help you with something?"
She smirked and I knew right then that I had fallen into her trap. "Oh, I'm sure you can help me with many things," her voice came out deeper than normal as she gave me a slow once over before biting her lip.
I fought to contain my reaction, not ready to give her the satisfaction of seeing me fold so quickly. Instead, I just crossed my arms over my chest and narrowed my eyes at her playfully.
She cleared her throat and stood up straight, realizing she'd have to put in more effort if she wanted me to play into her little game. "I wanted to see if you happened to be going to the party tonight."
I chuckled. Of course that's where her plan was leading. "Yeah, because you know me, the resident party animal," I said sarcastically. She let out a small laugh at my joke and began following me as I turned to head towards the parking lot. "No, I wasn't planning on it. But you already knew that, didn't you?"
"I did," she smiled to herself and waited for me to come to the edge of the bleachers before stepping in front of me. She placed her hand on the chainlink fence beside me, consequently blocking my path with her forearm. "Which is why I've come up with a list of some pretty convincing methods to change your mind."
A chill went up my spine as I stood there frozen, trapped under her tempting gaze. She tilted her head to the side and watched my reaction as her hand brushed down her own neck and tugged on the top of her uniform, revealing more of her skin to me. Even under the painfully white, artificial stadium lights, she looked undeniably gorgeous. Really, it was unfair how pretty she was with her smooth, flawless features and perfectly toned body sculpted from years of being on a cheer squad. It was no wonder why all the guys—and girls—in school would fumble over themselves simply to get her to look at them.
"Oh yeah, and what might those be?" I tested, unable to deny her at this point. Really, it was like the words slipped from my tongue before my brain could decide to stop them. Something about her was just so alluring, like even if I tried my hardest, there was no way I could resist her. It was strange, especially when I considered that I hadn't really noticed her until she started pursuing me.
She hummed, pretending like she was thinking while her hand reached out to my bicep. Her skin felt unnaturally cold against mine, but the thought seemed to leave my mind just as quickly as it had entered. In fact, it was hard to focus on anything in that moment besides her swirling eyes and sparkling skin as her hand moved over to my stomach. "I don't know..." Her fingertips slowly dragged down my shirt, leaving goosebumps in their wake before meeting the exposed skin just below my bellybutton. "I guess you'll just have to come back to my room to find out." She gripped my waistband and slowly pulled me into her, our lips now just a few inches apart. She looked down at mine while licking her own and I felt so intoxicated being this close to her.
I was beginning to lose all sense of my surroundings looking into Yoona's hypnotizing gaze when the sound of a throat clearing in the dead of night reeled me back down to reality.
Yoona stopped dead in her tracks and took a step back from me quickly, as if caught doing something she shouldn't have.
Before I even turned to look at who made the noise, the tingle that spread across my skin told me who it was.
The older woman was leaning back against a large SUV parked just a few yards away with her arms crossed over her chest in disappointment and it made me wonder how long she had been there. For my sake, hopefully not long. The black leather jacket and dark grey skinny jeans she wore along with her short black hair blended in with the vehicle behind her, creating the illusion that she was nothing but a shadow with a pale face.
"Haewon?" I asked, shock evident in my voice.
When our gaze finally met, I could practically see the jealousy dripping from her eyes. She tilted her head to the side slightly as her jaw went slack and looked me up and down. Except it wasn't in a flirtatious way like with Yoona. No, this was her way of expressing her displeasure with my actions while also reinforcing her possessiveness, as if saying 'I told you you're mine and this is what you choose to do with your time?'
Apparently impatient and over our little staring game, Yoona blurted out, "who is that?" Her tone was slightly irritated, probably from having the moment interrupted.
Haewon smiled sarcastically in a way that made my stomach twist. "Who am I?" She let out a huff of a laugh, yet there was no emotion behind her eyes. "No, no," she said after a pause, finally pushing herself off of the car. "Who," she took a few steps towards the cheerleader until they were just a foot apart, "are you?" Her last words were practically spat in Yoona's face, accompanied by an accusing finger a few inches away from pressing into the cheerleader's chest.
It quickly became evident in Haewon's darkened eyes and clenched jaw that Yoona's tone had fully sent her over the edge.
"Haewon," I said firmly, but Haewon was still laser focused on the woman in front of her, likely a few seconds from ripping her throat out with her teeth if I didn't intervene. Well, maybe not something that crazy, but I could never be too sure with Haewon—especially considering the way she'd been acting lately.
It didn't help that Yoona wasn't phased by Haewon at all and simply said, "is this who you choose to spend your time with?" The disappointment was evident in her voice and it made me feel a confusing mix of emotions.
Initially I felt defensive towards Haewon, wanting to reassure Yoona that she wasn't normally like this, but the more I thought about it, the more I realized Haewon was actually always like this. Specifically around people who tried to get close to me. Only, normally she wasn't this aggressive about it. Clearly something had set her off this time, so either I was missing something entirely or Haewon was being especially irrational since Yoona had been making advances towards me.
I wanted to try to explain to Yoona and apologize for Haewon's behavior, but I knew now wasn't the time. The most important thing was removing Haewon from the situation before things got worse. "Haewon, don't," I raised my voice this time and placed my forearm across her collarbones. She grabbed my arm, ready to resist, when I added, "it's not worth it. Please, let's just leave."
I couldn't be sure what it was, maybe the genuine pleading in my voice or the fact that I offered to leave with her, but Haewon finally gave in and let me pull her back. Well, so far as she could still maintain her glare with Yoona all the way back to her vehicle. I opened the driver side door for Haewon before getting in on the passenger side.
Before Haewon got in, she shot one last threatening look at the girl. "From here on out, if I smell even so much as a scent of your overly-priced perfume on her, I can promise you I won't think twice before hunting you down and ripping your throat out," Haewon yelled before sitting in the driver's seat and slamming the car door. Well, that confirms at least one suspicion.
—
Most of the drive back was filled with me avoiding Haewon's eyes peering at me through the rear-view mirror while she silently seethed with anger next to me.
It was ridiculous really. I should've been the only one who had the right to be angry after what happened, not her. I did nothing wrong. Neither did Yoona. So why did Haewon think it was okay to attack her and then be angry at me afterwards? Really, she was acting like a jealous girlfriend. Except there was one major problem with that... she wasn't my girlfriend.
"You really should stay away from that girl," Haewon said, as if she hadn't already made her stance on the matter entirely obvious. This only made me angrier.
"Why, just because you didn't like that she was flirting with me?" I replied harshly.
"No!" Haewon bit back defensively. "I could sense something off about her."
I scoffed. "Yeah, right."
She ignored my comment and added, "I told you, it's not safe to be out past sundown."
"What does that have to do with anything?" I exclaimed, quickly losing my temper with her. "Besides, what do you expect me to do... drop out of soccer? I've been on the team practicing after dark for months now and nothing has happened to me."
"But things are different now," Haewon replied, her voice firm.
"What, just because I know things now?" I raised my voice at her. "How could having knowledge put me in danger?"
"How could it not?" she countered, her voice just as loud as mine now. "You know things that you shouldn't and anyone could figure that out based on how much time you spend around me." Her hand gestured between us before returning to the steering wheel.
"Yeah but, now I know what to look out for and how to defend myself," I replied.
"Oh, you know how to defend yourself, do you?" She let out a sarcastic laugh and looked over at me like I was an idiot.
"Yes!" I yelled a little too loud, tone now defensive. I felt embarrassed immediately afterwards and tried to explain myself, but she cut me off.
"Do you realize that you're bleeding right now?"
"What?" I asked, completely caught off guard.
"There's a cut on your lower back," she said casually.
I hesitated a moment, wondering if she was messing with me, before giving in and turning in my seat to examine my body. Not finding anything on my left side, I was beginning to feel foolish. Surely I would've noticed if I was injured, this had to be some sort of trick she was playing.
"Other side," she added, like she could read my mind.
I turned to look at the opposite side of my body and lifted up my shirt. To my surprise, I noticed the start of a decent sized cut lining the skin on my back just above my right hip. "How did that..." pressing a finger to it drew a smear of blood and sent a significant sting of pain through my body. "How did I not notice-"
"Adrenaline," Haewon answered before I could even finish my sentence. "Typical human experience. Likely from the high intensity of your practice. You couldn't see the cut since it was on your back and you never felt it even when your hand inevitably grazed it while you were showering."
My mind was reeling, searching for the moment I got the cut and wondering how something so significant had gone unnoticed by me.
"Yet, I could smell it a mile away," Haewon said, sending a chill down my spine.
I was speechless. Suddenly it made perfect sense why she had brought it up. And I felt sick now understanding the implications.
"See that's the problem," Haewon started, knowing exactly what my silence meant. "You will never understand what it's like to be the hunter. And if you can't understand that, then how could you possibly know how to defend yourself as the hunted?"
The rest of the ride was silent after that. Haewon knew she had said enough and I knew there was no longer any point in defending myself.
—
We arrived at her place not long after. It was a large house made out of thick, dark wood with the few windows adorning it shielded by blackout curtains. Haewon insisted that I spent most of my nights here, claiming it was a 'fortress' that would keep me safe from anyone—or anything—that might be a potential threat. I knew all that meant was that she wanted to protect me herself. Besides, for it being a 'fortress,' I always thought it was a little ironic that it sat dead in the center of the woods that Haewon always demanded I stay away from. Though, Haewon making unconvincing excuses for things that could be clearly answered by her feelings towards those things was not a new occurrence in the slightest.
It was eerily quiet as I got out of the car and the intense darkness of the surrounding forest only added to that feeling. Haewon's eyes were scanning the tree line as she waited for me to head inside. She was in this cautious, overprotective mode so often, sometimes I wished she'd just settle down and relax along with me. But that was never an option in her mind.
When I reached the front door, a blur of movement flashed in front of me and suddenly Haewon's hand was on the doorknob. I jolted back out of instinct, only to find that her other hand had already been placed behind me, anticipating my reaction. Though it was such a small thing, the idea of her being prepared to catch me in any moment unexpectedly made my cheeks burn. And suddenly I hated how annoyingly human that was, being so quick to let one tiny thing impact my opinion of someone.
I should've still been mad at Haewon. I deserved to be mad at Haewon. Yet I couldn't help but reason that she truly had done everything to protect me.
And by the slight raise of her eyebrow and the hint of a smirk tugging at her lips when I hadn't moved after she opened the door told me she knew exactly what she was doing.
Once inside, she directed me towards the kitchen, muttering something about 'cleaning up my wound.' Now I knew she was intentionally doing things to try to win me over, cause how could I possibly make an argument against her while she was doctoring my wounds?
"Sit here," she pulled out a barstool from the counter before turning around to grab supplies.
With a sigh, I did as she asked, knowing she was too stubborn to try to deny. I waited patiently on the stool and watched as she walked back over to place the supplies neatly on the counter next to me. The sight of the rubbing alcohol made me wince.
"We have to get your wound clean, so it doesn't get infected," Haewon said in such a soft voice, her eyes now warm. It was hard to believe that she was the same woman who, just fifteen minutes ago, was seconds away from attacking someone.
I swallowed nervously and simply nodded my head it response.
"Take your shirt off," she said in a quiet voice.
"What?" I looked up at her with a blush and wide eyes, confused for a moment. Then it dawned on me that she needed access to my wound and I felt wildly embarrassed.
For once, Haewon sent me a genuine smile, clearly amused by my sudden panic. "I mean, unless you'd like me to assist you..." she said lowly, taking a step closer to me, never breaking eye contact. One step further and she'd be standing between my legs.
"No, no," I panicked further, placing my hand out to stop her and instantly regretting it when it landed on her stomach.
She looked down to where I was touching her and back up to me with a daring expression. Her eyes seemed to shift to a subtle shade of red and I could've sworn I caught the hint of two canines peeking out below her top lip when her mouth parted.
Her reaction caused me to instantly retract my hand. I was sure she could hear the blood rushing through my veins as my heart pumped unusually fast at her behavior. Barely anything had happened and yet both of us were entirely on edge.
Haewon had once briefly told me about the special intensity that came with the bond between a vampire and her mate, but I had yet to experience it in this way before. And now that I had, the only way I could possibly describe it was intoxicating.
I had to physically turn my head and pull myself away from her gaze to be able to resist her. And when I did, I almost fell off of the barstool, feeling dizzy and unstable like a drunk girl at a club.
The stool had spun the other way, so when Haewon reached out to grab me, her arm wrapped around the front of my torso and her body pressed against my back. I held onto her arm and the counter to right myself and felt her breath against my neck when I leaned back. I was thankful in that moment for her strong grip, because the feeling of her hugging me from behind with her lips this close to my neck nearly had me passing out on the spot.
"You okay?" she asked softly, not ready to let go of me quite yet.
Not being face-to-face with her helped me calm down just enough to respond. "Yeah," I said, breathless. I felt incredibly foolish in that moment being so affected by such a small incident. And, though she definitely knew the true cause of it, I attempted to cover it up with a lame excuse. "Just feeling a little lightheaded. I probably overdid it in practice today."
Instead of calling me out, Haewon hesitantly pulled away from me once I was steady and seemed to accept my excuse without asking any more questions.
I finally felt less embarrassed about taking my shirt off now that I was turned away from her and pulled it over my head to give her better access to my wound. I heard her take a deep breath at the sight of my bare back before her fingertips hesitantly landed on the skin surrounding the cut. The freezing cold sensation of her skin making contact with mine made a hiss leave my lips and my body retract away from her touch.
"Sorry. Did that hurt?" she asked, concern evident in her voice. "I didn't even touch the cut."
"No it's just-" I hesitated, hoping my comment wouldn't somehow be insulting to her, "your hands are freezing."
Surprisingly, Haewon laughed lightly in response. "Well, that does tend to happen when there's no blood circulating through your body."
I breathed out a short laugh, mostly in relief that she wasn't offended.
There was a beat of silence between us when neither of us really knew what to say before I heard her readying some supplies.
"It looks like the bleeding already stopped, so I'm gonna clean up the wound with just a wet rag first and then I'll dab some alcohol on it," Haewon explained.
I whispered a simple 'okay' in response and couldn't help the way my heart beat even stronger in my chest at the care that she was showing with me.
Focus, Y/N, I thought to myself. She just almost assaulted a woman who was nothing but nice to you. Maybe a little too nice, but still. Haewon was the one acting out of line.
Yet, focusing seemed utterly impossible with Haewon's smooth, cool hands handling me so carefully while cleaning my wound. I got a waft of the strong metallic smell of my blood and I couldn't help but think how painful it must've been for Haewon to resist. And yet she still insisted on helping me without a second of hesitation.
And there I did it again, letting just a small few kind actions cloud my judgement of her.
I sighed, exhausted by my own mind.
"Are you okay," Haewon asked, now placing the rag down.
"Yeah," I replied simply, too tired to come up with another excuse.
"Your heart is beating really fast," Haewon said lowly, her voice suddenly much closer to my ear.
I felt chills along my skin and suddenly grew ten times more nervous at the sudden comment. Really, in that moment, there was almost nothing I could say that would be a convincing excuse to her. She knew exactly why my heart was pounding. And I was beginning to think she enjoyed the power she had over me.
So I tried the only thing I could do to flip the script on her, replying, "Bleeding around a vampire who apparently has a special taste for my blood specifically doesn't exactly calm one's nerves."
She placed a hand on my hip from behind. "That's not really why you're nervous, is it?" Her voice came out as a whisper.
I instantly felt the tension from earlier return and I knew if I let her continue on like this I wouldn't be able to resist her for much longer. And I'll admit there was a part of me that was prepared to give in and allow her to claim me as her own no matter how toxic our relationship had been up until that point. But the more rational part of me fought to hold out and push Haewon to answer for actions. After all, something inside of me was telling me that the payout would be much more rewarding in the end.
"Are you almost finished?" I deflected, but admittedly felt a pang in my chest as Haewon backed away from me in response.
"Almost," she replied, not even attempting to hide the disappointment in her voice.
I heard more movement behind me and then, without any warning, I felt a soft, wet object press against my cut that sent a sharp sting of pain through my whole back.
"Ow, what the hell, Haewon?" I jumped off the stool, away from the source of the pain and turned around to see Haewon holding an alcohol soaked cotton ball, now tinted pink with blood.
"I told you I was gonna rub alcohol on it," she said plainly, eyes void of emotion. "At least let me put a bandage on it." She grabbed a package and started opening it.
I huffed out an annoyed sigh and turned around to let her apply the bandage.
"You know, you could've at least warned me before doing that," I said bitterly, feeling all the pent up anger and frustration I had for her finally bubble to the surface again.
Once she had secured the bandage over my wound, I went to grab my shirt.
"Right, like you've warned me so many times before doing something drastic yourself," she mumbled with an irritated expression, glancing at me while I was putting my shirt back on.
I almost didn't catch what she said and I had a feeling she was hoping I didn't. But I did, and if this was leading where I thought it was, I was about to lose my patience with her. "What's that supposed to mean?" I challenged, a hint of anger in my tone.
"Do you know a single thing about that girl?" Haewon asked, a dead serious expression on her face.
"You actually have to be kidding me right now," I laughed in astonishment. I had hoped that I was wrong and she had finally let the earlier incident go, but, here she was, proving me right again.
"Do you know where she's from or who her family is?" she continued, ignoring me. "Do you have any past memories of her around town or at school?"
"Why are you so stuck on this random girl?" I yelled.
"You're not listening to me," Haewon's voice lowered.
"And you're not listening to me!" I exclaimed, throwing my hands up in the air.
"I'm trying to protect you!" Haewon's voice raised to match the volume of mine. "And I get you just think I'm paranoid or whatever, but for once I think there's really something wrong-"
"You think there's 'something wrong' with everyone that gets close to me!" I cut her off. "And then you scare them away so I never even get the chance to figure out if they were good or not. But it's never really been about protecting me, has it?" I paused, only to be met with silence. "No, it's all been about you all this time and wanting to gatekeep me from the rest of the world! If you can't have me, then no one can, isn't that right?" I took a deep breath, struggling to keep voice steady. "Why can't you just let me live my life in peace?"
"I am letting you live your life," was all Haewon could say in response. She wasn't yelling anymore, now quieted by my outburst.
"Okay," I said, with less anger this time. "Then let me go to the party tonight."
"What?" She exclaimed, voice instantly raised again. "You don't even wanna go to that party!"
"You know, for a person so obsessed with spending all their time around me, you sure don't seem to know a thing about me," I bit back.
"What are you even saying?" she asked, baffled. "You've told me multiple times that you hate parties.
"Then maybe instead of being instantly so against the idea, you should ask me why my opinion has changed. Did you ever think of that?" I crossed my arms over my chest.
"I don't have to ask, cause I already know the reason," she said simply.
"Oh, and what's that?" I asked, sarcasm lacing my tone.
"To defy me," she answered, staring into my eyes.
"Seriously, Haewon?" I groaned in disappointment. "I know this seems impossible for you to believe, but I promise you not everything I do is just to spite you."
A soft knock on the door sounded before Haewon could argue back. I let out a much needed breath, truthfully relieved to have our fight broken up.
A whiff of air hit Haewon's nose and that was all it took for her to know who was on the other side of that door. "Oh great, just what I needed... another one of my ongoing problems," she said with an exaggerated roll of her eyes.
"Hey! Watch it." I pointed a finger at her. "You can be mean to me all you want, but the second you're mean to her..." I trailed off, figuring she could fill in the blanks of my threat. "And, in case you've forgotten, she has just as much right to be around me as you do."
"Oh, how could I possibly forget that?" Haewon replied in an over-exaggerated tone, sending me a sarcastic smile.
I ignored her and walked over to open the front door. A small woman with short blonde hair and slightly parted bangs that hung past her eyebrows stood on the other side. She nervously fiddled with the buttons on her light blue denim jacket while looking at the ground. When her head tilted up, I could've sworn I saw the sun itself in her bright smile.
"Hi," she said, still a bit awkward even after knowing me for over a month.
"Hi, Lily," I breathed out, admittedly feeling a fluttering warmth spread through my chest. Her presence alone always seemed to brighten my mood.
"Did your heart rate seriously just pick up right now?" Haewon whined from the living room.
Lily's smile faded as her eyes moved to Haewon, but I noticed a pink tint crawling up her cheeks at the comment.
"Ignore her, she's in a mood right now," I told her and gestured for her to come inside.
"Suppose you can't blame her..." Lily said, walking through the entryway, "being allergic to the sun and all."
Knowing Lily, she didn't mean this to be funny or insulting and yet it made me bust out laughing and had Haewon grumbling curse words underneath her breath. Lily smiled at the sound leaving my mouth.
"Or perhaps my mood turned sour at the unbearable stench of wet dog now invading my home," Haewon returned bitterly, sneering at Lily.
This made Lily look down and grab at the edge of her light grey crop top: something I noticed she did when she was feeling nervous or—more likely in this case—self-conscious.
A frown overtook my face at Lily's actions. "Really, Haewon? After what I just said?" I scolded, stepping towards Lily to place my hand on her back, feeling protective.
Haewon just gave a muttered 'sorry, but it's true' in response.
Lily brushed it off like she always did while I was one more snarky comment away from telling Haewon off.
"Why are you here, exactly?" Haewon squinted at Lily.
"I'm here to say you should let Y/N go to the party," Lily replied simply.
"Oh you have got to be kidding me! Did she put you up to th-" Haewon started, but I cut her off.
"You want me to go?" I asked, surprised. Surely she had just now heard us arguing from outside and wasn't on her way over here just to tell me that.
"Yes," Lily answered confidently with a small nod, as if it was the most obvious solution. "I think you deserve to live a normal life-" she paused as I wrapped my arms around her in a side hug. "a-as long as you're able to." Her voice stuttered when she noticed my gaze locked onto her face and she quickly tried to avoid my eyes. "A-and we can't be sure how long that is—given, you know—so you might as well treat every day like it's your last."
She finally looked up at me with a smile and I squeezed her shoulder affectionately before turning to Haewon. "See, maybe if you acted more like this, I might actually start falling for you."
"Oh, whatever," Haewon scoffed.
Next to me I could vaguely hear Lily quietly repeating the words 'falling for you...' to herself before Haewon's angered voice took over.
"You can feel free to follow her advice if you wanna get yourself killed, because going to a party in the middle of creature-infested woods with the scent of a vampire and a werewolf all over you might possibly be the stupidest idea I've ever heard."
I could feel Lily's shoulders droop in defeat underneath me and that's all the fuel I needed to take a step towards Haewon and yell, "what is wrong with you?"
Even after all our fighting, this took Haewon aback.
"She has done absolutely nothing but show you kindness and is clearly not a threat to me and yet you still insist on being so hateful towards her?" My cheeks had turned red with anger and I knew there was no stopping me now.
Haewon stood there in silence, her lightless eyes locked onto mine.
Lily looked up at me with a sympathetic glint in her eyes and placed a hand on my shoulder as she turned towards me. "No, it's okay," she said softly, "You don't have to-"
"No, it's not okay," I insisted. "You don't deserve to be treated this way and she should have to answer for her actions." I gestured towards Haewon. "For everything she's done lately," I added, making it clear this wasn't only about her treatment of Lily, but about all the fights and arguments and all the people she hurt in the crossfire. Because it was evident to me that there had to be some underlying grudge beneath it all that caused her to do all of this. And it was about time she finally admitted the real truth.
"You really want to know why?" Haewon asked, her voice surprisingly calm and her face suddenly neutral.
I raised an eyebrow at her, daring her to keep going and finally lay it all out on the table.
So she did.
"I treat her and you and everybody else this way, because I have spent what might as well be an eternity of searching and growing attached to people I thought might be you, only to be struck time and time again with the realization that they weren't you and, because of that, I had to live with knowing I'd never be able to fully love them in the way they deserved to be loved. Yet I never had the heart to leave them, so I stuck around no matter how excruciating it was to watch the people I loved grow old and wrinkle while my skin stayed the same until they inevitably fell ill and I was forced to sit at their bedside and watch helplessly as the light left their eyes completely." Haewon's words spilled out of her as she finally poured her emotions out.
I felt sick at the vivid detail and ultimate reality of Haewon's life and suddenly all my issues with her were so small and stupid and insignificant.
"And now that I've found you, I have to deal with loving you so deeply and painfully that even just watching you walk away every day makes my heart feel like it's being ripped from my chest because I can't ever know if it'll be the last time I see you," she went on, looking deep into my eyes with a sorrow I had never seen from her. "Only for her to show up one day," she turned her attention towards Lily, "and tell me that I apparently wasn't the only one fated to be with you." She paused with an uneasy breath before continuing. "So now we have to—I don't know—fight for your affection or divide our time in half with you or just wait until you decide to reject one of us. Or both of us for that matter."
My heart was racing at this point and I could feel all of my own emotions charging to the surface. All this time I thought Haewon was being the self-centered one, never thinking about my perspective and what I was going through. I hadn't even considered that I was doing the exact same thing with her. I just assumed she never brought up her past because of something bad occurring, and never thought to push her on it. But I could've never even fathomed this level of heartbreak and torture. How does someone even live through that? No wonder Haewon was the way she was.
"Haewon," I whispered, nearly on the verge of tears myself. I tried to reach for her, but she took a step away.
"It's okay," she said, her voice sounding hoarse. She cleared her throat before adding, "you don't have to say anything."
I opened my mouth to protest, but she cut me off.
"I didn't say all that to make you two pity me, okay?" she looked at me, her eyes softer now.
I just nodded in response, certain that dredging up the past just to admit all of that to us was difficult enough for her. She likely wanted to try to forget about it all over again.
"I was being unfair, getting mad at you—or rather, the situation—for something you couldn't even understand," Haewon admitted, letting out a deep breath. "Truthfully, I was never actually mad at you," she added, her voice quieter and more vulnerable now. "I was just afraid of losing you and didn't know how else to express that."
I felt the urge to hold her hand or touch her in any way that might bring her comfort, but I hesitated. In that moment, I realized I didn't even know how she liked to be comforted. Or whether she even wanted someone to comfort her. I figured the best thing was to wait for her to make that decision first.
"I'm sorry," Haewon said, finally sincere. She was looking at me initially, but her eyes soon turned to Lily, implying the apology was directed at both of us.
"I'm sorry, too," I said, frowning towards Haewon.
"No, you don't need to apologize," Haewon said immediately.
"But I do need to apologize," I insisted. "I honestly didn't even think to consider the real reason you were acting out," I shook my head, angry at myself for being so blind. "I should've realized you were suffering."
"You had no way of knowing," she insisted, sympathy in her eyes as she looked at me.
"I-I just wish you felt like you could've told me instead of pushing me away, that was my own fault for not making sure you knew you could talk to me," my voice wavered as I suddenly felt nervous about the idea of growing closer to Haewon. That last sentence was an impulsive response, but it made me realize that I really did want to her to be able to open up to me about anything. I was just afraid it would take time to build enough trust for that. Though, the hint of light that entered Haewon's eyes as she looked at me made me feel less afraid.
When she timidly took a step towards me, I stood frozen, afraid any sudden movements would scare her off. She reached out for me and I felt a spark ignite in my chest knowing she was finally seeking me out for comfort. Her hand was cold in mine, but I subconsciously hoped my warmth added to that comfort when I interlocked our fingers.
"I'll try harder this time," she said, her gaze leaving our clasped hands to meet my eyes. "For you."
The look she gave me struck me with nostalgia, bringing me back to the very first time we met. I hadn't seen that much warmth and kindness in her eyes since that day. I couldn't help but think how refreshing and relieving it was to have that Haewon back. The Haewon that was so full of hope and love.
The moment ended quicker than I would've liked when she released my hand. But I wasn't too disappointed when her gaze shifted over to Lily. I had a feeling opening up to accepting comfort would take longer with Haewon anyways.
"And, uh..." Haewon awkwardly gestured with one hand towards Lily while scratching the back of her neck with the other. "I promise I'll try to be nicer. Since-since, you know..." her eyes tried hard but failed to avoid staring at Lily's face for too long, "you've only been kind to me." She cleared her throat once she finished and forced herself to look away.
I initially read Haewon's behavior as her expressing discomfort with acting nice towards someone she's been jealous of for the past couple of months, but I was beginning to sense something else. In my experience, Haewon didn't stutter when she was uncomfortable with someone. In fact, she would speak quite eloquently when telling people off that she didn't like being around. So this had to be actual, genuine nervousness. And I had never seen her nervous around anyone before.
That, along with Lily's own reaction—fingers fidgeting, eyes focusing on everything but Haewon's face, tips of her ears turning red—had me doing a double-take, staring back and forth between the two of them. Had there been an entirely different reason Haewon was being rude to Lily all this time?
"I-I appreciate you saying that," Lily replied shyly, "but I never held it against you." The sincerity in her voice even made Haewon's eyes soften. "I know this is a really weird situation for both of us- well, all of us really," she gestured over to include me, "and I've been struggling a bit, too. So, I really can't blame you for the way you acted."
I watched Haewon's expression slowly fade to one of guilt as she listened to Lily.
"It still wasn't fair for me to take it out on you, though," Haewon sighed. "It's not your fault. Just as much as it's not mine or hers," she looked over at me. I gave her a sad smile that she reciprocated briefly before looking back at Lily. "And I know that. It just always felt easier to blame everything on someone else rather than admitting that it has all been fated since the beginning and things can't be changed."
"Perhaps there's a reason it has been fated," Lily suggested.
Both Haewon and I glanced at each other skeptically.
"I mean, maybe something amazing will come out of this that we didn't even think to be possible," Lily continued, her words brimming with optimism. "Of course, I couldn't even make a guess as to what that may be, but... I suppose that's the thrill in the unknown: we get to find out... together." She looked at both of us with an unsure smile on her lips, yet an unmissable sparkle of hope in her eyes as she held her arm out in front of her.
Truly, Lily's words felt like a reach, but her overflowing optimism was undeniably contagious and I could tell even Haewon was feeling it.
Reluctantly and with a roll of her eyes at the childishness of the younger girl, Haewon stepped forward and placed her hand on top of Lily's. They both looked over at me: Lily with a beaming smile both at Haewon actually being cordial for once and as an encouragement for me to join them. And Haewon with a raise of her eyebrows, telling me to get on with it so she didn't have to stand there, making contact with Lily for any longer than she had to.
I took a moment to look back at them before adding my hand, my heart feeling full in my chest witnessing them finally getting along—if that's what you could even consider it—and I knew now there was only one decision I could make. The one where I vowed to hold onto both of them. Even if things didn't work out. Even if I was totally misreading their cues and they actually end up hating each other in the end. I had to try. Even just for a little while. Because I owed it to them.
-
Coming up:
"Now, I think we should try a trust exercise and I have just the thing in mind," Lily suggested in a chipper tone.
Haewon immediately groaned and pulled her hand away from the pile.
I laughed at the two of them, just waiting for Lily to continue, having no idea what she was about to say.
"I think we should all go to the party together."

A/N: I know this one was mostly angst but I hope you guys were able to enjoy it anyways. I'd really, really love to hear what you guys think about it. Don't be shy, leave a comment if you want 🥺🤲 maybe make a theory or two about some lingering things that I made seem extra mysterious in this chapter (lol). How do we feel about the Sullyoon cameo? 👀
Sorry for all the fighting btw 😭 whenever I get around to writing the second part I swear there won't be any more of that. And I promise there will be lots more Lily!

I know I write mostly Dreamcatcher on here, so I suppose that’s probably what most of you have come to expect from me (and I won’t ever stop writing about them btw!)
BUT
I will be posting some NMIXX & Le Sserafim x reader stuff here soon that I’ve been working on (along with other girl groups), so I hope you’ll be interested in that as well! I’m just hoping if I add the right tags people will see it cause some of my other non Dreamcatcher stuff kinda flopped and it made me sad lol.
(some other girl groups I want to write about: IVE, Itzy, I-DLE, Meovv, Izna, tripleS, XG, Katseye, etc.)
I also hope to write some gxg short stories with my own characters (mostly sci-fi and fantasy in genre like princesses, knights, assassins, superheroes, villains, vampires, werewolves, dystopian and apocalyptic worlds, etc.) so maybe you guys would be interested in keeping an eye out for that.
If you wanna keep track of the new kpop stuff I post, I’ll always be adding it to my full list of imagines here:

A/N: FINALLY I updated this. Only took me a couple years 😭 (I also had a decent chunk of it written already and it still took me literally 10 hours to finish this today- thank god I didn’t have work). I honestly don’t know how I feel about it, so I’d love for you guys to give me some feedback if you have any! I’m just really attached to and proud of the first part so I always felt like nothing I could write will ever live up to that. But maybe you’ll love it. Who knows?
SOMETHING I WANTED TO SAY: I’m sorry I’ve been so inactive. I’ve been working on stuff here and there but ever since I graduated college, I’ve really been struggling to write. But I do see your messages and even if I don’t post a reply to them, just know that I really REALLY appreciate your support and your kind words and even your requests. I promise I am not ignoring them! Like I said, I just haven’t been writing much lately but I’m hoping I’ll be able to put out more stuff soon. Thanks again. Your comments and messages mean the world to me.
Also, HAPPY UAU DEBUT!! 🥳
I definitely think the Minji I’ve written here feels like current Minji and it was supposed to be like 2018 Minji but let’s just ignore that little inconsistency 🤡

"We have a schedule in the morning. You shouldn't be up right now," Minji said sternly as she watched Siyeon and I frantically untangle from each other.
I was too embarrassed to reply and Siyeon mumbled something I didn't quite catch as she stood from the couch. Whatever it was made Minji glare at her as she turned around to lend me a hand up. I accepted, allowing her to pull me to my feet, and stood there frozen, doing everything in my power to avoid Minji's intimidating stare. Siyeon didn't seem too phased by the older member's behavior when they made eye contact and proceeded to casually walk past her on her way back to their shared room.
While Minji's attention was off of me, I seized the opportunity to sneak past her in the hopes that I could avoid what awkward confrontation I'm sure was awaiting me. Only, I didn't make it very far.
"Not you," she grabbed my forearm and my heart stopped. I couldn't even will myself to look at her.
Siyeon took a few steps back towards us, drawing my eyes over to her. As if Minji wasn't even there, she took my arm from her grasp and pulled me into her for a hug. Though maybe a little awkward in the timing, the sentiment seemed genuine, yet I couldn't make myself relax into her embrace knowing another pair of eyes was on us.
Sensing my tenseness, Siyeon whispered, "It's just Minji, she won't bite... probably."
Probably?! I wanted to yell, glancing over to see the woman in question eyeing our movements like a hawk. But I stayed silent, swallowing thickly and feeling every inch of my body tingle with nervousness.
When Siyeon pulled back, she gently grabbed my chin so that I was staring at her instead. Without ever once glancing at Minji, she closed the distance between us to kiss me lightly. I could practically feel the leader's gaze searing holes into the sides of our heads while Siyeon drug it out, taking her sweet time before pulling away.
She smirked, satisfied with herself and then said, loud enough for Minji to hear, "Sweet dreams, babygirl."
The vocalist didn't stay a second longer to witness the aftermath, slipping into her room and throwing me like bait into the lion's cage to fend for myself. It was a petty move, but I knew she was doing it to rile Minji up so that maybe she'd do something about it and make a move on me. Now all I could manage to do was stand there, too afraid to make eye contact with her in fear that she might pounce on me at any moment.
Though, as the silence drug on for a moment, the guilt was fast to creep in when I remembered Siyeon's words about Minji's reaction to my kiss with Sua. She had already been forced to witness me kissing another member and now this? I wasn't totally sure how I'd react in her case, but I probably wouldn't feel too great seeing someone else kissing any of the women I loved.
"Unnie-" I attempted to form an apology, but she was quick to cut me off.
"No," she said coldly.
I finally looked up at her, shocked to find her eyes had turned so dark that they'd become unrecognizable: that little hint of light always shining in them now extinguished.
"I just want to sa-"
"You're supposed to be asleep," she demanded.
I took a step towards her, trying desperately to explain myself. "I know, but if you'd just let me-"
"Why do you think this is acceptable when we have practice in three hours?" Her deep tone of voice resonated through the halls and made me shiver. She had never spoken to me like that.
I grew infinitely more uneasy now realizing how mad she truly was. "I'm sorry, okay? I just... I couldn't sleep." I looked down.
Though it seemed obvious she wanted to make another remark, my change in demeanor seemed to render her mute for the moment.
"My mind races constantly the second I shut my eyes," I admitted, unable to keep these feelings to myself any longer. "I've just been so stressed lately and I can't stop overthinking. I thought getting up would help clear my mind and then Siyeon-" I stopped when I caught her jaw clench in my peripheral at the mention of her best friend's name. I sighed sadly, feeling ashamed that I had upset her so deeply. "I'm sorry. I'll just go," I finally gave up and started to walk away.
"Wait," her voice stopped me in my tracks.
I just stared ahead into the dark hallway, bracing myself for more scolding.
Except... it never came.
After a beat of silence, she let out a reluctant breath. I turned around to face her. It took a second for her to look up at me, but once she did, I could tell from the way her eyes softened that she had finally pushed her jealousy to the side—at least for the time being—and was now only concerned with my wellbeing.
To my surprise, she simply observed me for a moment, as if debating her next move, and then said, "We'll discuss this later. Try and get some rest, okay?"
I didn't have time to reply or even react to her sudden mood switch before she grabbed my cheek and boldly leaned in to place a lingering kiss dangerously close to my lips. I stood there in shock, feeling both my chest and the spot on my cheek burn as I watched her back away and bite her lip while staring at my own. She seemed to have to force herself to walk away, her body stuttering with almost every move back to her room, as if she was fighting the urge to run back and push me against the wall just to smash her lips into mine.
But she never did. And I was left alone in the hallway, feeling more confused and conflicted than ever.
This really was gonna be harder than I thought.
-
Almost a week had passed since my confession to Siyeon—if you could even call it that—which also meant almost a week had passed since the incident with Minji. And, as expected, I had spent those several days on edge, constantly wondering when and how the eventual confrontation would go. She said we would 'talk about this later,' but a busy idol life combined with a tiny dorm didn't exactly grant us much time or privacy to make that 'later' happen anytime soon.
It also didn't help that, on top of Minji's nearly-impossible-to-read stares that she would constantly shoot me in practice, Sua and Siyeon were also shooting me stares, but for very different reasons. If a person could be capable of feeling every emotion possible all at the same exact time, that person was me this past week. Which, of course, led all the other members to start staring now that it had become obvious something was bothering me.
I was off my game, even in practice when I normally found it so easy to escape from my emotions through the music and performance. Now I was dancing out of time, missing my vocal cues, and mixing up my lyrics. I could only get away with using exhaustion as an excuse the first few times, then it started to become concerning.
"You sure you don't need to sit out for today and rest?" Our choreographer, Sooyeon, asked, placing her hand on my back as I leaned over to grab my water bottle and rag. She had just called a five minute break from learning our new comeback choreography after I managed to throw the entire group off yet again by starting my rap break out of time.
"No, it's okay," I replied breathless, turning to her. "I'm sorry, I'm just..." through the reflection in the mirror behind her, I caught at least three pairs of eyes staring at me. "...a little distracted."
"It's okay, just try to rid those things from your mind. You know, I always find it helpful to..." she continued talking, but her voice faded to the background as my mind became entirely preoccupied with a scene playing out in a shaded corner of the room away from everyone else.
In the mirror, I watched as the woman—who was supposedly angry with me—reached down to the hem of her shirt and slowly began tugging it upwards, maintaining eye contact with me the entire time. Gradually she revealed her toned stomach that flexed tauntingly with each heavy inhale of her breath before pulling the thin shirt over her head, giving me a sickening view of her skimpy sports bra hugging her chest so tightly that even across the room I could see the not-so-subtle curve of her breasts peeking from the top. She tilted her head back, allowing the dim light to catch the golden layer of sweat shimmering across her body and highlighting the muscles of her neck and arms. Her eyes fluttered closed and her mouth opened slightly as she drug her shirt across her neck and down her chest to dry herself. It was obvious she knew I was watching as she pretended to 'accidentally' tug on the top of her bra to reveal more of her chest to me and bit her lip at the sensation of her shirt brushing across it.
"Sound good?" A hand landed on my shoulder, jolting my attention back to the woman standing in front of me.
"Huh?" I said, stupidly, now registering where I was. I swallowed quickly, noticing an unusual amount of saliva built up in my mouth, before restating, "I mean, yeah. Of course, sounds good. I will... work on that." I pressed my lips together into a forced smile, hoping she didn't just catch on to the fact that I had not heard a single word she just said.
To my relief, she smiled brightly. "Great! Well, in that case, back to practice," she punctuated her words with a clap and started walking back over to the speaker.
Now that she had left, I glanced back into the mirror only to be met with an empty corner of the room. Mildly disappointed, I sighed and raised my water bottle to take a much needed drink of water. Halfway through the sip, a soft hand stopped me and pulled it from my lips. Minji's dark hair came into view, along with the confident smirk now plastered on her face. Her eyes were somehow both dark and playful as she seemed to take pleasure in watching my cheeks turn red as I nervously swallowed the bit of water still in my mouth.
She didn't waste a second in placing my water bottle against her own lips and tilting it back to take a drink of her own. Somehow she managed to make such an innocent gesture feel so explicit as she drank, allowing a little to spill down her chin. I failed miserably at fighting the urge to watch the water drip all the way down her neck and to her chest and regretted it the second I did. Suddenly I found myself wishing it was just me and her in this practice room so nobody else could judge the things I wanted to do to her.
Like she knew exactly what I was thinking, she finished with one final swallow and pulled the bottle away from her mouth just to stare at me expectantly as the water continued to drip from her chin. "Well, aren't you gonna clean up the mess you've made?" she said in a low, sensual tone, her thumb tugging at the waistband of her pants.
I nearly choked on air at the very obvious double meaning in her words while, of course, she simply grinned at the shocked look on my face. Was she seriously implying that messing with me was making her turned on?
"Clearly I meant this," she teased, taking the rag that I had forgotten was even in my hand and placing it on her chin. "What else could I have meant?" She feigned innocence, tilting her head with a playful smile while rubbing the rag over her neck.
My eyes squinted at her, equally annoyed, frustrated, aroused, and confused. How can she be screaming at me one day and trying to seduce me the next?
She pressed the now wet rag against my chest for me to take and sent me a wink before spinning around and skipping off when Sooyeon called us back to practice. I shook my head at her bizarre antics and turned to follow, noticing a certain main vocalist laughing nearby, clearly having seen at least the ending of what just went down. Nice to know she finds it funny. This was partially her fault.
Ridding the whole thing from my mind as best as I could, I took my place to start the song. Surprisingly, it went well for a few more runs and I was definitely improving. Well, that is, until Minji decided to continue her attempt to seduce me by somehow making the moves to an emotional song about being trapped in a dream sexy. I tried to ignore it by looking dead ahead at myself in the mirror, but then she'd start adding unnecessary contact between us, brushing her hand across my shoulder or thigh when we were next to each other in the formation.
Luckily I managed to make it to (what Sooyeon claimed would be) the final run of the day before we had to head to our individual schedules. Even with my little hiccups, we had finally gotten the choreo down pretty well, so Sooyeon wanted to film it for us to analyze before next practice. Given this information, we all seemed to subconsciously agree that we'd actually try to take it more seriously. Even Minji didn't seem to be pulling any tricks this time and we started off well.
As we were reaching the second chorus of the song following my verse, we had to quickly transition to the next formation. It was one of the fastest transitions in the choreo and required me to take several swift steps backwards in between two other members on the exact right beat before they closed the gap. We had done it many times slowed down because one of us would usually run into the other, but as we gradually sped the song up to its normal tempo, we managed to pull it off so far.
This time, however, I hit the steps just before the transition with my feet a little too close together, causing one of my shoelaces to loosen. By the time I realized, I had already made one step backwards with my planted foot holding the shoelace down with all my weight. The foot I tried to move only made it half as far until it stopped mid air and I lost my balance. I fell faster than anyone could react and instinctively tried to catch myself with my hands extending out behind me. Only, one hand didn't land right on the ground and the force of my weight on it sent a searing pain through my wrist.
I cried out and rolled over to clutch my hand to my chest. The members all exclaimed in shock and immediately ran over to me while someone else in the room went to turn the music off. Even after all this, Minji was the very first one at my side, placing her hand on my face and asking if I was okay.
I groaned as the pain throbbed and took deep breaths for a moment to try to compose myself enough to respond. I knew if I started crying the members would only panic more and assume the worst, so I sucked the tears back in.
"I'm okay," I said, but my voice came out strained, unconvincing. I rolled over a bit and Minji brushed the hair from my eyes so that I could see her face.
Strangely, in that moment, the pain seemed to numb a bit as I stared into her caring eyes filled with concern. I wasn't focused on anything but the cute pout on her lips and the way her eyebrows furrowed over her sparkly eyes. This was the Minji I knew. Or perhaps I was just beginning to discover more sides of her that I didn't know existed. Even in her anger and jealousy. Even in her calculated seduction. It was all truly her. And I was about to learn a lot more about her than I realized.
-
After my fall, some of the members insisted on calling the doctor, but I convinced them it wasn't that serious and that if it still hurt in the morning, then I would go. Still, they didn't take no for an answer when suggesting I take the rest of the day off to relax at the dorm. As expected, Minji volunteered to stay with me after getting permission to skip her individual schedule for the day. At first I believed when she said it was only because she wanted to help doctor my wound and didn't want to leave me alone while I was injured—and though I still believed that was part of it—I started to realize she was also taking her opportunity to get me alone.
The tension was evident the second we entered the silence of the dorm. She dragged me into the kitchen and directed me to the short part of the counter. "Sit," she commanded in a serious tone and turned around to start grabbing the first-aid supplies she thought she'd need. Recognizing the change in her expression, I didn't dare disobey or even respond.
I took a seat and held my wrist in my lap with my other hand. She came over a second later with a bandage, an ice pack, and some medicine in her hands. Without hesitation, she stood between my legs, clearly perfectly comfortable with being in my personal space. I thought I had become used to it, but my heartbeat started racing as she leaned in close to place the items on the counter next to me. It didn't help that the height of this counter made it so that we were perfectly face to face.
She leaned back so she was standing up straight and reached out to touch my forearm. It reminded me of the moment she had grabbed that same arm a week ago to stop me from retreating to my room after she caught me with Siyeon. I couldn't even begin to know what was going on in her mind. It had become increasingly obvious over the last few days that she wanted to be with me, but I wondered if she also felt betrayed by me. Or Siyeon. Or even Sua.
As she started gently wrapping the bandage around my wrist to give it support, I watched her face so concentrated on the action and began to realize something. She didn't know what Siyeon did. She didn't know that I loved her too. That I loved all seven of them. So, of course from her perspective, she's probably devastated that I chose either of them over her. That's why she had been so desperate to get my attention, maybe she thought I didn't look at her the same way I looked at them. Which was ridiculous to even consider. How could I not look at her like that?
She must've felt me staring, because, when she finished with the bandage, she took a step back and looked up to catch my gaze. Her expression was soft in that moment. Delicate like how she was handling my wrist. But I watched her eyes change as she glanced at my lips. First to longing, then a mix of something between sadness, anger, and possibly even lust. I stood up from the counter and took one timid step backwards towards the kitchen exit, feeling the urge to run away before she did her damage. Those mood swings were confusing me to no end and I was never sure how she'd react. But her next words kept me in place.
"You know, the walls here are thin," she said lowly, looking back down at my wrist as I cradled it in my hand.
I fidgeted with my bandage, feeling mildly embarrassed and afraid for where this was probably leading. "Unnie-" I tried to apologize once again, but it's clear that wasn't what she wanted to hear.
"No, it's okay." She looked up at me, forcing a smile on her face that I saw right through. "What you do in your downtime is none of my business," she said. "But, if you really want privacy..." She took a step towards me and I took a couple back. "...you should at least learn to be quiet."
I gasped when my back came into contact with the wall. She took the chance to abruptly close the gap with her hands on my waist, pushing her body flush against mine so I was pinned against the wall. "Cause I could tell how turned on you were all the way from my room," she whispered into my ear, her right hand pressing flat against the bare skin just above my waistband. I held my breath, feeling her nose brush against my neck. I had no time to even be embarrassed by her words. Her other hand traveled up my body, teasingly brushing over my chest and planting itself at the base of my neck where her fingers traced slowly across my collarbones.
"Do you like how she touches you, hm?" The jealousy dripped from her tone as her hands continued to explore my body. No words escaped my mouth. I just held onto her waist helplessly while one hand moved up my neck in a tantalizingly slow motion, her fingertips tingling every nerve on my skin. She pressed further into me with her other hand against my chest, her head tilted so that her lips now ghosted over mine. "Do you like how she kisses you?" she breathed out, her voice quieter, yet somehow more intimidating. Her thumb moved to slowly brush across my bottom lip, her eyes following every movement.
"Is she better than me?" she whispered so quietly that I almost couldn't make out her words. Her eyes flicked up to mine and now I could see this wasn't all teasing. It was obvious she was genuinely debating these these questions all along.
I didn't know how to answer her with words, so I tried to convey my feelings to her the only other way I could think of. My lips meeting hers was all it took for her to release her pent up emotions on me. The first kiss was timid from her, almost as if she couldn't believe I had done it, but after that, she didn't hold back. She gripped the back of my neck tightly and kissed me so forcefully and desperately that I thought she might rip my lips right off my face. She barely even pulled back after each kiss, never wanting to disconnect our lips. And even when she gave us a break, it was never long enough to actually catch a proper breath.
By the time she slipped her tongue past my lips, it was clear she wasn't planning on stopping anytime soon. Though I still barely knew what I was doing, I tried my best to keep up, which was proving difficult given how lightheaded she was making me. My hands moved downward to feel the skin underneath her shirt and she seemed to follow suit, moving hers to brush across my collarbones and pull at my shirt.
It wasn't until I felt the cool dorm air against my skin that I realized she was unbuttoning my shirt. Momentarily shocked, I released her lips and reached up to grab one of her hands. She instinctively linked her fingers with mine, and before either of us could realize it was my injured hand, she went to pin it against the wall and connect our lips once more.
I almost instantly winced in pain and she pulled back just as fast, letting go of my wrist. "I'm sorry," she rushed out, retracting herself from me, "I'm so sorry, I completely forgot, I-"
"Hey, hey," I grabbed one of her hands with my good hand and pulled her closer, "it's okay. I forgot, too." She looked so concerned that I was afraid she might start crying. She tried to take a step away from me again and kept apologizing. "Look at me," I pulled her closer again and put my hand on her cheek, "It's okay, unnie. I promise I'm okay."
She just stared at me with sad eyes like a pitiful puppy, so I leaned in slowly to kiss her pout off her face. She hesitated for a moment, but couldn't resist in the end and melted into me.
We both pulled back and I said, "see, now this is definitely helping make the pain go away."
She laughed cutely and leaned in to kiss me again. We shared a few more kisses, this time showing me that she was capable of being gentle. Once I was satisfied, I pulled her into my embrace, resting my head on her shoulder.
"You know..." I started, holding her around her torso as she squeezed me tightly around the shoulders.
"Hm?" she hummed.
"You're really scary when you're jealous," I whispered.
She laughed, still hugging me close. "Really?"
I had to resist scoffing at her. "What do you mean really?" I exclaimed and leaned back, causing her to do the same. "I was sure you were gonna murder me that night. And earlier." Even though I was mostly joking, she still seemed guilty.
She sighed. "I know, and I'm really sorry. For that and for yelling at you," she frowned and placed her hand on my face. "There's nothing I regret more. Especially when you told me how stressed you had been. I wished I had known what you were going through before." Her eyes sparkled with sadness as she looked over my features and rubbed her thumb across my cheek. "Normally you come to me when you're struggling with something. I guess I just thought it would be the same with this."
She was right, I did always come to her first when something was troubling me. As our leader, I always felt like I could confide in her and I wanted her to feel the same with me. We told each other everything. So I understood why seeing me with Siyeon must've hurt her. Though, it seems more obvious now that Minji knew all along that I liked more than just Siyeon or Sua. But I can't blame her for questioning whether I liked her too, that's all I can seem to do lately when it comes to them.
"You wanted me to come to you first," I teased in an attempt to lighten the mood, though this revelation admittedly made my heart hurt. Maybe I should've gone to her first. I was sure a lot of sleepless nights could've been avoided.
A small laugh left her mouth at the accusation. "Maybe." She smiled sadly and I didn't waste a moment before kissing it off her face.
"No, you're right though. I probably would've," I said softly after I pulled back, my nose touching hers. "I just didn't really plan on telling any of you." She frowned and tucked my hair behind my ear as she looked at me sympathetically. "It just kinda happened." I shrugged.
"Well, I'm glad it did," she said honestly, making us both smile. "Even though I wasn't first." Her smile faded.
"Sorry," I said seriously.
She laughed and kissed me. "Mm, I think I'm okay with it now," she mumbled against my lips before stealing another and moving her hands down to grab my waistband.
I allowed her kiss me for the next few minutes, just holding onto her neck and enjoying the feeling of her being in control. She didn't slow down, now pushing me blindly across the dorm until my back hit my bed and she was on top of me, making out with me.
"Oh my god," I whispered after bearing a few more minutes of her relentless attacks. My head laid back into my pillow, already overwhelmed by how good she was at kissing.
"What?" Minji giggled, turning her head to try and get a look at my face.
"I don't think I'm ever gonna get used to this," I said, breathless.
She propped her head up with her hand and looked down at me. "Well, you know what they say," she smiled. I just stared at her, waiting for the punchline. "Practice makes perfect." Her smile shifted to a smirk when a blush set into my cheeks.
"I thought you said I needed to rest," I teased.
"Well..." she paused a moment, leaning in and watching her fingers brush across my jaw. "We've both gone without sleep before, I think we'll survive." She concluded like it was a good enough reason and captured my lips once again.
I didn't make an effort to stop her. She was quick to deepen the kiss and my heart burned at the feeling of her tongue in my mouth. I slipped my hands underneath her shirt and resisted the urge to groan at the way her smooth stomach felt against my fingers. She eventually pulled back and helped me take her shirt off with my one working hand. I only got a split second to admire her before she leaned back down and moved her lips to my neck with purpose.
"You're so pretty," she whispered in my ear, stealing my line and yet still making my heart flutter. She gripped my hair and a small whine instinctively slipped past my lips at the action, making her loosen her fingers. "Is this okay?" she asked softly, placing delicate, wet kisses along my neck that slowly became rougher the further down they got.
"Yes," I replied, voice weak, now clutching her waist in the hopes that it might ground me.
Once she reached the base of my neck, her warm, slick lips started sucking down harshly on my pulse point. I gasped, reaching a hand up to rest on her jawline. The sensation that came from the suction of her lips against my throat was so intense that I could practically feel it throughout my entire body. My heartbeat throbbed painfully in my veins and my brain was lost in the clouds.
The unreleased tension her kisses had slowly been building up in me now became unbearable and I was unable to think straight, shifting my position to find some friction on Minji's thigh. The almost painful feeling of the older woman marking me up in tandem with the sudden pressure of her leg against my center once she realized what I wanted sent a feeling of pleasure like I had never experienced before rushing through my body. The overwhelming sensation forced a moan from my throat and I could feel Minji inhale sharply against my neck as her nails clung harder to my scalp. There was no doubt in my mind she reacted that way because she could feel just how wet she had made me through my shorts on her bare thigh.
Right as she leaned up to kiss my lips and drag her hand down to my waistband, we heard the sound of voices in the hall and the front door slamming. We both abruptly backed away from the kiss, but Minji couldn't make a move to get off of me before Dami entered the room.
"Are you oka-" the short haired woman froze the second she saw both of us shirtless in bed and I wanted to disintegrate off the face of the planet at the embarrassed look on her face. "Oh, sorry," she looked away immediately and started walking back into the hall.
Minji stood up to quickly put her shirt on and run after her while I just laid there, mumbling a curse word while placing my hands over my face.
Why did this have to keep happening?

🔮 Dreamcatcher (OT7) x Fe
Summary: Wanting to help Ellie get over her fear, you take her on a secret trip to a nearby lake to teach her how to swim.
Warnings: brief mentions of hunting/animal death, cursing
A/N: I wrote this imagine in 2019 so the writing is kind of basic, BUT I thought it was cool that I wrote this before Part II of the game came out cause I feel like the character of the reader kinda reminds me of Dina a tiny bit. Anyways, I just thought the story was cute after stumbling upon it a couple days ago and figured it would be fitting to post this now with the show being out and all. I don’t specify Ellie’s age here but I imagine her being somewhere between part 1 and part 2 so maybe 16-17 years old (same age as the reader). But yeah, hope you enjoy!
*I’m actually thinking of writing something with Isabela’s version of Dina or just Isabela herself, so I’d love to hear if you guys would be interested in that!*
-
I woke up awhile ago and went out for a morning hunt. Ellie was still asleep and I knew Joel was gone because his pack wasn't in its usual spot. He was probably out on a supply run. He trusted us to take care of ourselves. I mean, Ellie and I grew up in the apocalypse, so all we knew how to do since the day we were born was survive. But he still worried. Probably more about Ellie than me.
Of course, he worried about me too, but Ellie was the first he had to take care of. She was like a daughter to him. Plus, unlike me, Ellie had a hard time expressing her emotions, so it was always difficult to tell how she was feeling. Although, I've lived with her for three years now and you really get to know a person after spending that much time with them.
She's opened up to me more than she ever would have to Joel. Maybe it's because I'm her peer, but I hope it's because she feels more comfortable around me. I care about her and I want her to be able to talk to me about anything. Yet, lately I've felt her pull away more. I just can't seem to figure out why.
But, of course, I have a plan.
After I finished my hunt, I started to tug my catch for the morning back to our hideout. It was a decent walk and this doe had to be nearing 60 pounds. It’s times like these when I was thankful I developed muscles from doing this for the last couple of years or else I'd be stuck in the middle of the woods like a sitting duck ready for infected to make a meal out of me and this deer. Luckily, after a good amount of trudging through the forest, I made it to our rundown cabin and started to hang the deer up.
Just as I was finished tying the animals legs, I heard footsteps approach.
"Damn, how the hell did you manage that?" Ellie asked like she was impressed and walked over, poking the deer in the stomach.
I rolled my eyes at her blatant language and acted like I was offended.
"What? You don't think I'm strong enough to carry this ole' thing?" I scoffed.
"No,” she said deadpanned.
"Are you kidding?” I let out an offended laugh and looked at her dead in the eyes. "Look at these guns.” I smirked, folding my sleeves up and flexing my biceps.
She scanned over my arms and I saw her cheeks redden a little bit, but she just shoved me backwards and laughed it off.
"Yeah, whatever... the only guns I see are in Joel's shitty rifle collection on the wall over there,” she pointed to the far wall and we both laughed at how ridiculous the idea of a rifle collection sounded.
I followed her into our shared room in the cabin and went into the bathroom to clean myself up.
After I finished, I entered back into the room to find Ellie sitting on the bed, reading an old comic book. Her face was scrunched up as she focused on the words in front of her. She bit her lip like something dramatic had just happened and I couldn't help but admire her. Although she was a major tomboy, I thought she was beautiful. God forbid I called her that though. She'd freak out and call me weird or cuss me out. Still, I couldn't resist. She made me feel something and I couldn't just ignore it like she did with her feelings.
"Dude, are you gonna keep staring or what? Cause you're kinda weirding me the fuck out,” she said suddenly and, though I was expecting it, I frowned.
It always hurt when she shoved me away like that. I knew she really meant her feelings were weirding her out. It was clear she didn't like me staring was because it made her feel something. And it had become obvious pretty quickly that feeling anything other than normal was uncomfortable for her.
"Get up,” I said simply. Yet she just stared at me like I hadn't even said anything. "Get up, come on. We're going somewhere,” I restated.
This time she hopped out of bed, shoving her comic book into her bag like nothing had ever happened. She was always up for an adventure, but what she didn't know is that this wasn't an ordinary one. Though, I wasn't gonna tell her that, because she didn’t like to be out of her comfort zone. And that's exactly where I’d be taking her.
-
We had almost reached our destination when Ellie asked—for the fiftieth time and counting—where we were going. I refused to reply past about the twentieth since, "you'll see when we get there,” didn’t seem like an acceptable answer to her. Or maybe she just liked annoying me. Seriously, how did I put up with this girl?
Finally, we arrived at an opening in the trees and I turned around to face her.
"We're here!" I exclaimed in an overly enthusiastic voice.
She looked at me like I was crazy and asked, “what is this?"
I took a step to my side and motioned behind me. There was a big pool of clear, blue water with the sun shining off of it, creating little sparkles all over the still surface that reflected the image of tall pine trees surrounding it.
"It's water!" I told her like it was the greatest thing ever.
She still just looked at me questioningly and I thought it was adorable that she clearly didn't get it.
"I'm gonna teach you how to swim!"
I realized after I said it that I probably sounded way too excited about this considering she had a fear of drowning. But, I was determined to help her get over that.
"Oh, hell no,” she said without a second thought.
She then turned to walk off, but I grabbed her arm and pulled her closer.
"No!" she yelled.
"Stop resisting, you'll be fine. You need to learn eventually!" I tried to reason but she kept trying to pull my arm away. There's no way she was gonna break free, we were equally as strong so it was a losing battle for her.
"No, let me go!" she insisted, still not listening to me.
"Seventy-five percent of the Earth is covered in water, so I think you kinda need to learn,” I tried to joke but she clearly didn't think it was funny.
She didn't seem to be giving into facts, so instead of trying to talk her into it, I pulled her towards me.
Her body ended up flush against me with her face only a few inches away from mine. She clearly didn't expect this as I watched her eyes widen in surprise. I stared at her, momentarily distracted by how close we were, but then I cleared my mind.
"Ellie, there were times when you almost got left behind because you couldn't swim. And I know it might seem scary to you, but you need to learn eventually so that’s no longer an obstacle for you.” My voice was more stern in order to get the seriousness of this topic across to her.
She backed away and looked down like she was debating with herself.
I thought she was going to run away so I grabbed her hands in mine, forcing her to look up at me. She was clearly uncomfortable with the idea but I said, "Hey, nothing bad is going to happen. I'll be right there beside you and if you ever want to stop, we can just get out. Okay?" This time my voice was softer and it seemed to reassure her a bit.
"Alright,” she sighed. “I guess,” she finished with a small voice and I smiled at her. When she looked back at me she couldn't help the little smile that appeared on her face.
Letting go of her hands, I walked over to the edge of the water. I bent down and stuck my hand in the water, feeling the temperature of it. Luckily it wasn't too warm from the hot spring sun, so it would actually cool us off a little.
"Nice and cool,” I explained.
Ellie walked over to place her hand in it just like I did, still eyeing the water skeptically.
While she was busy getting a feel for the water, I began taking my clothes off. Ellie didn't realize what was happening until she looked up and I was wearing only a sports bra and underwear. Her eyebrows raised as she gawked at me, eyes shamelessly roaming over my toned body. I'm pretty sure I even heard her cuss underneath her breath. Although, she seemed to come to her senses, quickly averting her eyes.
"What the hell are you doing?" she yelled, like a half-naked human being was the craziest thing she'd seen in her lifetime.
"We don't want our clothes to get all wet, now do we?" I asked, a hint of sarcasm in my voice.
"Right,” she said quietly, clearly embarrassed by the whole situation.
I waded out into the water until my feet couldn't touch and began treading water, turning to face Ellie. She was standing there with her arms crossed over her chest awkwardly. I swam closer to her, trying to figure out what the real problem was. She kept looking at my clothes on the ground and then down at herself and it hit me.
"Hey El?” I started in a gentle tone, "You know I would never judge you, right? We're best friends, I don't care what you look like."
This seemed to reassure her a little and she shrugged her shoulders.
"Okay." She looked up to meet my eyes that were still on her. "Turn around though." She requested in such a small voice, it made my heart break a little. But, I did as she asked and spun around, watching the leaves on the trees behind me.
I could hear her taking off her clothes and then felt the water ripple around me. "You okay? Not having a heart attack or anything, right?" I asked, trying to lighten the mood.
"No, you jackass. I'm not that much of a scaredy-cat." I heard close behind me and decided to turn around.
She was slightly shorter than me, so even though she was closer to the shore, her shoulders were already halfway underwater.
"Oh really? So how come I had to basically drag you in here?" I teased even more.
This seemed to annoy her and she started moving closer to me—probably so she could hit me or something.
"And I thought you were the big brave tomboy, not afraid of anything." I continued to draw her closer and closer to the deep end of the pond. "But it looks like you're just a scared little girl, afraid of some harmless H2O."
She took a leap towards me in an attempt to shove my shoulders, but her hands didn't reach me before her feet left the edge below her. Her head went under in a flash.
In that split second, she began panicking, wailing her arms and feet wildly in the water, desperately trying to reach the surface, but she was only pushing herself further under the water. I lunged forward and grabbed her arms, raising them out of the water. Feeling my presence, she wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling her head from under the water and clinging to me. Her gasps turned into coughs as she spewed water out of her mouth. I held onto her waist so she felt more comforted and swam back to where I could place my feet on the bottom of the pond so I wasn't having to carry both of us.
Ellie was still freaking out, so I leaned back from her and turned her cheek so we were face to face. I combed her red bangs out of her face and brushed my thumb against her cheek. This seemed to be helping because her frantic green eyes started to focus on mine.
"Ellie, you’re okay. I'm right here."
Her erratic breathing finally started to die down and, just like that, it was normal again.
Well, that is, until we both realized the position we were in.
Suddenly my body became aware of the fact that Ellie's half-naked body was pressed against mine. I was holding onto her bare thighs and her arms were wrapped around my neck. My cheeks turned red and I bit my lip trying not to think about how soft her skin felt and how pretty she looked right now. She seemed to be thinking the same thing because her cheeks were pink and she was avoiding my eyes.
I ended up staring at her lips, an overwhelming urge to kiss them growing in my chest. And, for some reason it didn't feel weird at all: the fact that I wanted to kiss my best friend. But, on the other hand, I had no idea what Ellie was feeling.
I wanted so desperately to get a glimpse of her, so I whispered, "El?"
Her eyes met mine again and I was sure she would know how I felt just by the look I was giving her. The only way I could even think of describing it is 'I was looking at her like she was the only girl in the entire world'… I think I read that in a book somewhere.
She seemed like she had no idea what to do at first, but then her eyes got lost in mine and she lost all common sense. Her head leaned forward and her lips met mine.
The first kiss was an awkward peck and she ended up giggling in embarrassment.
I simply smiled and grabbed her chin. "Just relax,” I instructed her and she did. "Slow. Like this." I then pulled her face into mine and our lips met again, but this time the kiss was soft and slow. Her lips felt so warm against mine and it made my chest feel like it was on fire.
I continued to kiss her smoothly and I removed her legs from my waist while she was focused on the kiss. Then, I slid my hands up her arms, gently removing them from my neck, never breaking away from the kiss. Finally, I grabbed her hands and when we parted, I slowly let them go.
Her feet began pumping underneath her as she kept her eyes locked with mine. I smirked a little and I guess it broke her out of her daze because she looked down and realized she wasn't touching the ground anymore.
"You're swimming!" I exclaimed and for a second she was excited… and then she freaked out.
"Hey, just relax. Stop panicking. You're gonna drown yourself."
She took a deep breath and swam forward, wrapping her arms back around my neck.
"I was swimming!" she yelled like an excited little kid. Then, unexpectedly, she kissed me again, this one lasting even longer. She backed away after a minute and looked at me with wide eyes like she was making yet another realization. "I love you."
A/N: again, let me guys know if you’d like to see me write something for Dina and/or Isabela Merced :)

🔮 Dreamcatcher (OT7) x Fe
Summary: With you and Handong both being members of different girl groups, you find it hard to make time for each other. After lengthy international schedules, you’re finally able to reunite and, in a moment of vulnerability, you begin to truly understand the full extent of your feelings for each other.
Warnings: no warnings
Idol cameo: Rosé from Blackpink
"Are you sure it sounds good?" the younger blonde member asked, still unsure of the final product of her solo bside even after the endless reassuring compliments I’d given her in just the past few minutes. "I feel like it's missing something,” she stated and turned in her chair to mess with the sound board. "Maybe I should add-"
"Rosie,” I exclaimed with a laugh. "You're gonna be adding stuff all day if you keep overthinking."
Her hands slowly retreated from the massive panel of buttons and she looked up at me, pouting.
"I promise you it sounds perfect. There’s no need to worry.” I sent her an encouraging smile. “Now is the part of the process where you sit back and appreciate it."
She just nodded with a sigh of resignation and stood up.
"You're right, unnie."
Her feet lead her towards me and she outstretched her arms for a hug.
"Thank you for helping,” she mumbled into my shoulder.
I smiled when she backed away and looked into her eyes to see nothing but sincereity.
"Seriously, I couldn't have finished it without you."
Rolling my eyes, I playfully shoved my best friend. "Now you're just getting all sappy. I did nothing."
The Aussie giggled cutely and grabbed hold of my hands so she didn't stumble backwards.
"Whatever, you know I suck at producing on my own,” she stated a little too easily and I frowned at her degrading comment.
"I'm gonna let that slide because we both know it's not true, but next time I hear you talk about yourself like you're not the most ridiculously talented human being ever, I will beat you up."
My eyes squinted threateningly but she only laughed again.
"Right, like you would hurt a single living thing in your life... you big teddy bear,” she mocked, jabbing her fingers into my stomach.
I swatted her hand away which prompted another laugh from her and I grumbled, "I don't know who's worse... you or Dongie."
The mention of my girlfriend seemed to jog her memory because she suddenly exclaimed, "Oh! Are you going to see her tonight?"
She now had her phone in her hands, busy looking something up.
I took a step closer and replied, "Yeah, why?"
"If you see Yoohyeon, will you tell her to respond to my texts?" Her eyes moved from the nearly empty text thread on the screen of her phone back up to my face. A hint of a frown pulled down the corners of her lips at the mention of the Dreamcatcher member she had been making an effort to befriend.
"You know she's terrified of you, right?" I chucked a little.
“Why?” she exclaimed, seemingly both confused and upset all at once while I continued laughing at her dilemma. "I'm like the least intimidating person alive!"
My laughter grew in volume at that and I had to bite back a remark about how true that statement was.
"Because you're an attractive woman, that’s why,” I smirked, remembering how shy the tallest member of my girlfriend's group was around me when I first started hanging out with them.
Handong had warned me about how panicky Yoohyeon got over pretty girls and said that's likely why she hadn't texted Rosé back, too afraid she would say the wrong thing and make a bad impression.
Rosé just sighed in defeat, probably relating to the girl she wanted to get close to. Really, Yoohyeon reminded me a lot of my best friend. They had tons of similarities, so much so that they could very well be the same person in a different body. I mean, they were even born in the same year... that couldn't be a coincidence.
"I'll tell her you don't bite,” I reassured her, only slightly joking. Still, it seemed to make Rosé happy.
"Good,” she smiled. "Now go have fun with your girlfriend. I know you've been dying to see her."
My smile mirrored hers thinking about how much I've been missing Handong since we've both been overseas and I leaned down to hug my best friend once again.
"Tell her I said hi."
My heart warmed at how supportive she was of my relationship and how she went out of her way to even befriend Dongie. Although Rosé was Korean unlike Handong and I, she was still a foreigner having lived in Australia for most of her life and could relate to us in that sense. Plus Rosie was a friendly person by nature so the friendship between her and Handong grew quickly and smoothly.
"I will."
When the hug was over I gave her one last stern glance.
"You better not spend all night working on that song of yours, you hear me?" I pointed my finger at her to emphasize my words.
"Yeah, yeah." She slowly shook her head with a smile. "And you better not have too much fun with that girlfriend of yours,” she gave her best mom voice.
I saluted her, making her wave me off with a laugh.
"Bye. I'll be back later tonight,” I waved, walking to the door of the studio.
"Alright, byeee-” she dragged out, waving back.
"... as long as I don't get kidnapped,” I added just as I slipped through the door.
I could just faintly hear a 'that's not funny' from the younger girl before I was out of earshot. The reply made me chuckle to myself, thinking about how much she worried over me even when it wasn't necessary.
-
Once I left the company, I went back to my apartment to get dressed. The outfit I chose was nice but not too flashy with the addition of a ball cap, face mask, and sunglasses. Being a member of the most well known girl group in the world came with its perks, but also its downfalls: one of those being the inability to go out in public without getting recognized. Even with the 'disguise,’ it was likely that someone would still notice me. I wouldn't mind it so much if I wasn't afraid of how people would react to me having one on one dinners with Handong.
At this point the general public assumed we were just good friends that bonded over our shared home country and the struggles that came with leaving home and adapting to Korean culture. But I feared the longer we saw each other the more people would start to suspect something deeper between us.
The idea itself didn't bother me, but the inevitable hate that my so called 'fans' would throw at Handong and her members just over the potential rumors was really what worried me. It was something we talked about early on in our friendship, yet Handong always reassured me that she could handle it and that I was worth it. As much as I wanted to argue with her, her clear dedication to our relationship warmed my heart. Plus, maybe I was a little selfish and wanted to keep her in spite of the risks. Either way I'd stand up to my fans and stick up for her if it came down to that and I knew she would do the same for me.
That in mind, I started my drive to Dreamcatcher's dorm, feeling excited about seeing Handong after the month we had been apart. When I arrived, I quickly made my way inside and up to the right level.
After knocking, Minji was the first to greet me with a friendly smile. She asked how I was doing and offered to get me anything from the kitchen, but I politely refused after responding to her greeting.
A couple other members came to see what the commotion was about and Minji left me with them to go fetch Handong.
Yoohyeon had excitedly bounded towards me when she realized it was me (having previously removed my sunglasses and mask) and gave me a hug, telling me how much she missed me.
"I missed you, too," I replied honestly before asking, "Have you been well? How was the tour?" My question was also directed to the maknae who had appeared at Yoohyeon's side to greet me as well.
They both briefly said how much they enjoyed it but how tiring it was before pelting me with compliments about my group's comeback and our VMA performance, saying how cool it was that we got to perform at an American award show and asking about the celebrities we met.
I was overwhelmed by how kind the two were and did my best to answer their questions as I waited for Handong.
As the topic started to shift, I took my opportunity to fulfill my best friend's request.
"You know, Rosé met Taylor Swift while we were there. You should ask her about it some time, Yoohyeon.” I nudged her shoulder with my elbow, raising my eyebrows at her.
She seemed to get what I was hinting at and blushed. "Oh okay- yeah. M-maybe I will." The idea of my member clearly made her flustered and I smiled.
"You should. She's been dying to talk to you," I winked at her which only made the panic worsen.
Just then a familiar voice that made my heart flutter spoke from the distance, "Sorry I kept you waiting, we got finished with practice later than I anticipated."
My eyes finally met those kind, soft brown ones and I felt my cheeks heat up at her appearance. She somehow always looked so elegant and expensive and the black blazer she had on with the necklace I bought her for her birthday earlier this year only further proved that. Her hair was also different than the last time I saw her, now cut into a black shoulder-length two-tone bob with blonde underneath. It somehow made her look older and more mature and I felt my heart rate rise through the roof as I stared at her.
Realizing I probably looked ridiculous in that moment, I closed my mouth and replied, "No, no it's fine. I wasn't waiting that long." My mouth shut with a smile that grew when she looked at me skeptically and chuckled.
"Acting so formal because my members are around," she questioned, "or has it really been that long since we've talked in person?" Her expression was still amused but I could sense that she was also saddened by the last part as much as I was.
"No, I think my brain couldn't believe that the beautiful woman standing in front of me was somehow also my girlfriend,” I said in total honestly, not even trying to be flirtatious.
My words made Yoohyeon squeal beside me even though they weren't directed at her and Gahyun mumbled some exclamation about how she ‘can never seem to get away from it.’
Handong had a different yet predictable reaction, shoving my shoulder and scrunching her nose in mock disgust, yet I could see the pink seep into her cheeks. She liked to pretend that she hated when I said cheesy stuff like that, but I knew she loved it. It always got to her anyways.
"Okay, let's get out of here and away from these pabos." Handong leaned into me but said the last part loud enough to elicit annoyed responses from the two younger members.
I giggled at how their playful behavior resembled the way my members and I joked with one another before bidding them a final farewell. Linking my hand with Handong's, I let her pull me through the doorway and out of their dorm.
When we got into the hallway, she led me to the elevators and pressed the button.
As we waited, she turned to me and put her arms around my neck.
"I missed you,” she finally admitted now that we were alone and looked into my eyes sadly.
My heart sped up and I grabbed her waist to pull her closer.
"I missed you, too." I frowned at her voice and impatiently tilted my head so that my hat didn't hit her forehead before kissing her.
When our lips met, I sighed in relief: her kiss like the first drink of water after a month-long drought. Promotions were especially tiring this time around, but knowing that I would be going back to Handong at the end was the only thing that got me through it.
She started to pull back, but I kissed her again, showing her how much I had really missed her. Her hands grabbed the back of my neck gently and the exhale she let out against my cheek was slightly staggered. Something wet landed on my shirt and it was only then that I realized she was crying.
Alarmed, I pulled back suddenly and examined her face to see fresh tears sliding down her cheeks. By now the elevator had arrived, but I didn't pay it any mind, more concerned about the woman in front of me.
"What's wrong, DongDong?" I asked lightly, but the nickname seemed to make it worse when she whimpered and buried her head in my neck. I held her tighter around her waist and rubbed her back soothingly.
"I'm sorry,” she mumbled into my neck and my heart broke.
"You don't need to apologize, jagi," I whispered and turned to kiss the side of her head.
"I don't mean to cry,” she sniffled, clutching the back of my shirt. "I guess I just didn't realize how much I really missed you."
I felt my own tears starting to form and could only let out a small laugh in response, thinking about how ridiculous we probably looked hugging each other while sobbing in the middle of an empty hallway.
Still, I sucked the tears back in, trying my best to stay strong and comfort her instead.
"Being away from home is never easy either... if you can even really call this home,” I said softly.
She sniffled again and leaned back.
I instantly used my sleeves to wipe the fresh tear stains off her face and she just watched me with a pitiful smile. Once I rid all the stray tears from underneath her chin, she pulled me forward and gently slid my hat off to rest her forehead on mine.
"You are my home,” she told me simply, yet nothing about that statement was simple.
Nothing in the meaning or the way it made me feel. It was better than 'I love you,’ because it meant I was the one she felt safe and comfortable with. Even more than her family back in China. It meant that I was her forever. And that made me feel the most love I had ever felt in my life. From her and for her. Because I knew she was mine too. She was the only one I ever wanted to go back to. The one I wanted to spend the rest of my life with.
So, I said the same back to her and I kissed her knowing that, though it was the first after a long time, it certainly would not be the last.

Summary: As the 8th member of Dreamcatcher, y
Summary: In one last effort to save humanity, you travel back in time on a mission to stop the woman they call the “Renegade Runaway” from committing a cold blooded murder that sets the world on a course for destruction. Yet, you could’ve never expected to find an angel in that devil’s dress.
Warnings: mentions of violence, abuse, death, and war, positive ending
A/N: gotta give the title its credit-
"All this man has done is lie and cheat and kill,” the harsh words left the woman's lips like venom, poisoning the man beneath her black boot with guilt. Raising her pistol, she positioned the barrel of the gun between his eyes.
Standing there over him, triumphant-looking with her pink hair flowing in the rough wind, she could have easily been mistaken for an angel cast down from the Heavens. Only the red satin dress and burning hatred in her eyes revealed the hidden evil beneath those imaginary wings and glowing halo.
That’s how I’d envisioned my final encounter with the one they called the 'Renegade Runaway' before the world changed forever. Except, that moment didn’t quite go the way I’d planned…
My eventual journey there was long and tedious, starting all the way back to the day I was born. The world was war-torn, the planet exhausted and dying. The human race was on the brink of extinction. One final hope remained in the potential of time travel, one that I quickly decided to dedicate my life to. Though the final mission to prevent the end of times promised nothing for certain—not even a return trip home—I volunteered to see it through without hesitation knowing that my future was not guaranteed had I conceded to the Earth's fate.
The task was simple enough: prevent one murder that had been committed over three-hundred years ago. After centuries of research, it had been determined that this very moment was the one that catalyzed the butterfly effect that would eventually lead to the end of times. Researchers hoped that changing the outcome could potentially prolong the survival of mankind. It was our only promising solution, so we had to try. And my one single chance to test that theory started the first day I met the Renegade.
—
Waking from a deep, dark slumber, I found myself laid out across the grainy desert ground, head resting against the roots of an old tree with a dusty brown cowboy hat placed over my face to shield my pale skin from the ruthless sun rays cast down from above. The dirt and sand crunched under my boots when I finally stood upright and the hot wind whipped through my mid-length hair. Though I had studied this very town in this exact time period, suddenly being stripped from my own time and placed here, I was rather disoriented.
I was always told it never quite felt real. At least not at first.
A nearby whinnying brought my attention to a horse that stood at the ready beside me, anchored to a tree by the lead attached to its harness. It was a beast of an animal, standing a few feet taller than me, showing off its muscular body while shifting its weight from leg to leg. Though I had never seen one in person, I knew them well. The creatures often came up in categories such as farming, transportation, and warfare in my research of the Wild West.
Gathering the lead in my hands, the animal hesitantly let me take my place on its back and followed my commands when I spurred it on towards civilization. It took a moment to get used to riding, but once I felt more comfortable, I coaxed it into a gallop. Dust kicked up with every thud of the horse's hooves, blowing across the never-ending desert floor that blurred with waves of heat in the distance, obscuring the horizon line. The air stung my eyes and tasted like salt, leaving my throat dry and body parched. Even in the short journey to the local square, beads of sweat had accumulated on my forehead from the harsh climate—one that closely resembled the state of the entire planet back in my time.
As I neared the town, square-shaped buildings made of wood faded by the sun eventually came into view, accompanied by the bustle of western folk crossing the empty stretch between shops ahead of me. Just like the history book said, everyone here had a role to play. It was a community that, in a lot of ways, relied upon the efforts of every single individual to thrive. New faces were unusual and those that were born here almost always stayed here. Maybe it wasn't everyone's idea of paradise, but it was the only thing they knew, so they couldn't possibly picture something greater. There was this sense of acceptance, or rather, resignation. Most people gave into it, but a select few stood in resistance. In particular, women who desired more than being at a man's side with no power their whole lives rejected the traditional ways of the Wild West.
I could feel that sense of indignation the moment I stepped foot here. There was a storm brewing in this small western town. A storm started by one they called the Renegade Runaway. One that would catalyze a ripple effect of pain and suffering throughout the coming centuries. But that's why I was here now: to change that seemingly predetermined fate.
Riding up to the local saloon, I got off my horse and tied its lead to a nearby fence.
"Sheriff." My greeting was aimed towards a pale woman with short black hair flowing from underneath her cowboy hat as I stepped onto the wooden porch in front of the local saloon. The sand left boot prints behind me like chalk coating the brown walkway.
The woman I acknowledged was standing just a few feet away, leaning against the front of the building, one leg propped up on the wall behind her as her dusty brown eyes gazed over the desert horizon like a hawk. She wore dark cowboy boots over tan pants held up by a belt with a badge on her left hip and a holster housing a white and golden revolver on her right.
At my greeting, she cast her gaze towards me and used her leather gloved hand to tip the edge of her hat down in recognition. "Howdy." Her lips turned up in a closed smile making her high cheek bones prominent.
I noticed the tight lines framing her smile and the way her cheeks almost indented because of how well defined her face was. There was no doubt in my mind that she was in good shape and, if I weren't here strictly for business, I might've inquired just where she got such perfect genes from or how exactly she managed to acquire her position—being a woman and all.
I was looking for someone specific and as much as I would've loved to ask—I glanced down at her badge—Sheriff Kim for help, this wasn't exactly a matter that I needed local law enforcement to be involved in. In fact, having the Sheriff on my tracks was the very last thing I needed.
So, I ventured inside the saloon without another word to the woman and walked straight to the bar. The one person I figured I could count on to find information in a small old western town was the one who got to hear all the latest news and gossip thanks to her occupation: the bartender.
"What can I getcha?" She said in a low, cool, calm tone when I took a seat on one of the stools. Her voice matched her appearance and—as I would soon find out—her personality. She had on an oversized white shirt with a denim vest and denim jeans. I couldn't see below her waist, but I assumed she was wearing cowboy boots since that's all anyone wore around here. Her long grey hair was twisted up into a single bun on the back of her head with the black ends that looked burnt from a fire sticking out the top and two small strands of her bangs free to hang on either side of her face. She looked intelligent and friendly, but not too friendly. Although, I got the feeling she was trustworthy just from the aura she gave off.
"Just pop, but make it look like a drink." I wasn't one to drink often, but certainly not while on a job.
She didn't hesitate with my request and started pouring it just out of sight of the other guests, making me wonder if many people asked the same.
Folks often did illegal business in saloons, so if you were caught here without a drink someone might assume the same of you. Proud cowboys didn't tend to take a liking to bandits or crooks and, I'd imagine, neither did the Sheriff.
That in mind, I grabbed the glass as soon as the bartender was finished pouring and took a sip before looking around the place discreetly.
It was just before sundown and the bar was starting to fill up with people coming in after finishing their shifts. The usual working men occupied the place, though there seemed a lack of prostitutes lurking for a typical western saloon. It appeared as though the women here held more positions of power than most other cities during this time period–no doubt due to the woman I came to find.
Though, I didn't spot anything that seemed helpful to my case, so I looked back to the thin woman behind the bar. She was already looking back at me, like she knew I wanted to ask her something. I'm sure she was used to strangers coming in here and questioning her, but somehow I got the sense that she didn't seem to mind it.
"You wouldn't happen to know of a gal named Bora, would you?" I asked after taking another sip, assuming these people knew the Renegade by her real name.
Still, I found it hard to gauge the bartender's reaction; she didn't seem to give away her emotions all that easily, an almost disinterested expression permanently etched across her face. Maybe that came with the job, or maybe that really was just a part of her personality. Nonetheless it didn't help me get a sense of who Bora was to these people—or at least to her.
"Bora?" She seemed to ponder, her hands momentarily stopping their job of cleaning a glass while her brain was at work. "I know several Bora's,” she concluded, continuing on with her task as if she had never stopped.
I found it odd that she didn't say more. It made me wonder if she didn't want me to know the answer or if she simply didn't care enough to tell me.
"The Bora I'm looking for is... shall we say... in some trouble,” I added, hoping she would catch on.
Much to my surprise, the bartender cracked a half smile and let out a small chuckle.
"Trouble, huh?" Her head raised and her eyes shifted to the far side of the room. "You must be looking for the Renegade."
I followed her gaze and spotted a woman with light pink hair sitting at a table in the far corner of the room. Looking at her now, I wondered how I missed her before. She seemed to take up the entire room and appear invisible all at the same time. Finally being in her presence was something else entirely; her aura was captivating with a hint of underlying mystery and danger.
Without saying anything further to the bartender, I stood up and began walking over to where the woman was, completely forgetting my drink on the bar top. I thought I heard an amused 'good luck' from the bartender, but I was already so preoccupied with this mysterious woman that I very well could have imagined it.
From what I knew about Bora, she was the definition of trouble. Mumblings of the townsfolk would tell me that she was an outlaw, a rebel, a deserter, 'a devil in an angel's dress.' I knew better than to fully believe such rumors. However, she was dangerous, and because of that, I knew I couldn't count on getting the answers I needed out of her the old-fashioned way. If I wanted anything from her, I'd have to play the game her way.
"You don't by chance happen to be the one they call the Renegade, do you Miss?" I offered gently, hoping I didn't appear to pose a threat. Any wrong decision and I could lose my one chance at salvation for good.
Although, she didn't spare me a glance, grunting out a cold response,
"What do you want?"
I allowed my eyes to take in her appearance, or at least what I could see of it with her back turned to me. I suppose I didn't expect the over-dramatic townsfolk's descriptions of her to be so literal, but, to my surprise, she was wearing a red satin dress. Similar to the Sheriff, she had a holster around her waist that held a silver and wooden pistol. The weapon was all too familiar to me and now I was sure I had the right woman.
"It's less about what I want and more about what you want,” I replied, trying a different approach.
She still didn't look at me, but she turned her head slightly, giving me a view of her side profile.
Maybe the only thing that shocked me more than her attire was her appearance. The single sharp feature on her face was her pointed nose. Other than that, her appearance looked rather soft. All the drawings I had seen of her painted her as a fierce woman with hard features and a striking gaze. Seeing her now, had I not witnessed the outcome of her future actions, I might've questioned how such a small, innocent looking woman was worthy of titles such as 'demon' or 'devil.'
"I don't want anything from you,” she said in a low tone. She didn't necessarily sound rude, but more like she was trying to intimidate me so that I would stop my ploy and leave her alone.
"I could offer some help,” I suggested, taking the seat across from her without permission. No one else in this old bar even dared look at the pink-haired girl, let alone sit near her. But she was no threat to me.
"I don't need your help,” she was quick to respond, still hardly paying me any mind as she took a sip of her whiskey. The honey colored alcohol resembled the thick rays of sunlight shining in through the titled slats in the wooden blinds. The dust made up of sand and smoke seemed to be permanently suspended in the air, making the rays look like bars of pure sunlight that you could just reach out and grab.
"Alright, then I can offer you information," I reworded, fully aware she was a woman who did her own dirty work but still valued any opportunity she could get to have the upper hand against her enemies.
There was a long pause and, after weighing my words, she finally took the chance to look me over.
She cocked an eyebrow, apparently unimpressed. "You aren't from around here, are you?" She told more than asked.
It was obvious she already knew the answer to her own question simply based on how I carried myself, but I had a feeling she was also implying that not many people around here tried to talk to her. They knew better than to bother her.
"You aren't either... or so I've heard," I tried to show her that I wasn't one to scare easily.
"Well then surely you've also heard that I work alone." She sat up straight and raised her glass to her lips before meeting my eyes.
The words almost felt rehearsed, like she had a method to keeping people out.
One side of her lips tilted upwards as she glanced over my features. "And not even a pretty face'll change that." She tilted her head back to take the final swig of whiskey, then slammed the glass down on the table before giving me a wink and getting up to walk out.
Only the image of her receding shadow was visible as she pushed through the saloon doors.
—
In the coming months, the renegade kept her word... for the most part. She was stubborn—which I had quickly gathered after my first encounter with her—and too independent for her own good. She wasn't necessarily reckless, but her solo endeavors often proved far too ambitious. Whether that be pursuing criminals or cowboys or men that just seemed to have too much money and power, she was constantly jumping into situations too dangerous for one woman to handle alone. That's where I came in. She didn't give trust away easily—claiming hers had to be earned—so I gained it by proving my loyalty to her, always coming to her aid when she found herself in trouble.
It took a while for me to get close to her and even longer to finally get her to open up to me. Once she believed my intentions were pure, she slowly unveiled the secrets of the mysterious 'Renegade Runaway,' allowing me to peel back the layers of her heart and eventually get a glimpse at what was inside. Unlike the fables, she was no devil or any other divine being for that matter. It became clear through her vengeful motives that she was purely and entirely human. She was hurting and broken from a painful past—one she would rather forget, yet the same one that drove her actions. In her lifetime she had witnessed the women she loved—friends, sisters, and even her own mother—get cheated, tortured, and murdered by all the powerful men surrounding them.
In her eyes, those that ruled the world were not worthy of it, because all they did was ruin it. She felt it was her duty to strip them of their privileges and bring them suffering as they had done to so many others. As noble an effort it seemed, history tells us that nothing good ever comes from vengeance. Still, she was blinded by the inescapable shadow of loss following her, clung to her figure as a constant reminder, a constant trigger that sent her over the edge.
That's why we found ourselves here now: Bora standing over a man she and I both knew all too well, pistol to his temple with memories of her mother's mangled body underneath his own boot playing on repeat in her mind while I helplessly watched a few steps away. The air grew cold and thick in the abandoned town square we now occupied as the very climax of my mission approached. This was the one murder I had trained my whole life to prevent.
"He doesn't deserve to live,” she seethed in anger. "He murdered my mother and countless other innocents." Her grip on the gun tightened with every word that left her mouth, turning her knuckles white.
"Perhaps you're right,” my voice cut through the brewing storm looming overhead, loud enough to not get lost in the violent gusts of air whipping around our bodies and through the gaps between the buildings surrounding us.
The townsfolk had all run for shelter, frightened either by the imminent threat of catastrophic weather or the violent coup that was now in progress, led by the renegade standing a few feet in front of me.
"But killing him will only make things worse in the long run." I took a tentative step forward, hoping the relationship we had formed over the past month—though still rather unsteady—would be enough to convince her to trust my words.
A flash of lightning struck the horizon, painting the gray sky blue before a boom of thunder punctuated its disappearance.
"How could you possibly know that?" she shouted, now growing impatient.
The wooden and silver weapon shook in her hands, her finger tempting the trigger. Even she didn't understand why she hadn't pulled it yet. It was her master plan, after all. Finally putting an end to all the suffering this man had caused to countless women and their families, including her own. It felt like her only purpose in life. Her destiny. Like it was already written in the stars. So why couldn't she go through with it? And why would she listen to me: a stranger she had met only a month ago? One that seemed to be from another world completely. The kind of person she never thought she'd find herself so attached to. Yet, there she was.
And though she couldn't possibly understand what I meant when I told her I've seen what comes of her actions, she somehow believes. When I said that this one decision will determine the fate of the world, she somehow knows. Because, deep down, she can feel that it has happened before. This exact moment had already played out in some distant reality. One that she had already experienced and would never experience all in the same life. One that always ended in disaster.
But, not this time.
This time, she looks deep into my eyes and finds a sort of empathy and honesty that she has never experienced before. In me, she finds someone who understands the pain and loss she has felt. Beyond that, she finds someone who manages to live with it. To forgive and move on. Someone who stopped trying to end violence with more violence. Someone who has found a better way.
Someone who cares for her.
And it shows her that her life doesn't need to be a constant cycle of death and revenge. That there is hope for a peaceful resolve. And maybe even room for love, not hatred.
The sky cries down in relief as Bora's gun falls with the raindrops, softening the hard dirt ground beneath our feet as they soak into the dying earth. Like the fresh water nourishing the desert floor, the renegade's decision to spare the man gives room for new life to grow and, one day, eventually, to flourish.
Now that a new string has been woven into the fabric of reality, the future is uncertain. This new life might seem daunting to most, but not me. All it promises are new possibilities for a world without hatred, without violence, and without suffering. A world where love and peace are not merely fantasies, but the promised reality.
And it all starts with me and her.

Summary: As the 8th member of Dreamcatcher, y
Summary: You always thought the idea of teaching a girl about sports was cute, so you decide to take Gahyun on a date to a baseball game.
Warnings: no warnings, fluff
A/N: I wrote this a while ago and it managed to age quite poorly since we now know Gahyun actually likes watching baseball lol
"Ah, this is gonna be so booooring,” the small, pink-haired girl whined as you both walked into the baseball stadium after handing your tickets to the workers at the admissions gate.
You grabbed her hand and intertwined your fingers before reassuring her, "I promise it'll be fun, Gahyunnie.”
She looked up at you, still uncertain, but you just sent a soft smile back.
"Plus, you lost the bet, so it was my turn to pick where we went for our date,” you nudged her shoulder playfully.
Her lips turned down and your heart melted at her adorable expression. "I know, I just don't like sports." She sighed. “But if you like them, then I'll give them a try,” she decided, her pout disappearing in an instant.
You felt your cheeks burn at her statement and subconsciously smiled. "Aw, how sweet,” you teased, using your free hand to poke at her cheek. "You're so cute.”
Gahyun immediately tried to swat your hand away. "I'm not cute,” she frowned, only succeeding at contradicting her own statement. You were ready to tease her some more until she released your hand just to cross her arms. "I won't watch this baseball game with you if you keep making fun of me."
You froze immediately, worried that you had actually upset her. "Okay, okay I'm sorry. I won't call you cute again,” you rushed out.
This seemed to make her happy, so you released a breath that you didn't even realize you were holding.
"Handong was right,” Gahyun said with a small chuckle as you started walking to find your seats.
You just looked over at her, not understanding what she was getting at.
She smirked and looked up at you
“You are whipped for me.”
-
"So... why are all of those guys just standing around... doing nothing?" Gahyun asked in between chewing the popcorn that she begged you to go buy her only five minutes after sitting down. Apparently the only thing she liked about baseball so far was the food, since, and you quote, 'this game might be worse than watching paint dry.’
You felt the urge to laugh at her question, but decided against it. "They're the outfielders. They’re there to catch the ball if the batter hits it further out. But, considering the other team doesn't seem great at batting, they've got nothing to do but stand there and wait for now,” you explained.
It was clear that Gahyun was making an effort to learn, but she didn't seem all that impressed yet.
"So all they have to do is catch a ball?" she asked, an incredulous look on her face. "Doesn't seem that hard to me. Aren't these guys supposed to be professionals?"
You couldn't contain your laughter any longer and noticed people around you giving disapproving looks. Obviously Gahyun didn't mean any harm, but people who didn't know her would assume she was being rude.
"You know, what do you say we get out of here?" You leaned up and glanced over at her, immediately smiling at the way her features brightened.
You had been there for a while and, although you found Gahyun’s innocently silly questions about the sport incredibly cute, you had to admit that you were also getting a little bored by the game. Baseball was one of those sports that could either be action-packed or super uneventful and this one unfortunately fell into the latter category.
So, instead, you decided to finish the day at the park.
And, you had to admit, after sitting on the bench and admiring the way the red leaves falling from the trees complimented Gahyun’s pink hair against the dull cityscape, it ended up being a million times better than some stupid baseball game.
Although, you knew it didn't matter where you went or what you did, as long as you were spending time with her, you would be happy.
"I love you,” you told her sincerely after she stopped dancing in the leaves and sat on the bench next to you.
The smile that lit up her face could easily leave the sun jobless. It sent butterflies fluttering in your stomach and made your heart pound a little harder than before.
"I love you, too,” she replied and you didn't hesitate before leaning in to kiss her plump lips. She grabbed onto your hand that held her cheek and quickly kissed back.
"Next time you can pick where we go,” you mumbled lightly after backing out of the kiss.
Her cheeks tinted to a shade that matched her hair as she giggled shyly, still flustered by the intimate moment.
Not long after, she regained her composure and smirked for the second time today.
"You really are whipped."

Summary: As the 8th member of Dreamcatcher, y
Olivia Hye, an angel created in Heejin's image, was inherently corrupted upon conception: half of her heart filled with purity and the other half cursed with sin. The only way for her to break free from the ignorant bliss of Eden is to partake of the Forbidden Fruit and gain knowledge of the Loonaverse. But, in order to do that, she must learn to love the dark part of herself first.
What happens when a strange girl appears in Eden and makes Olivia Hye begin to question everything she's ever known?
Will Olivia still be able to accept the corruption within her or will it consume the only remaining light in her heart?
"After all, Lucifer was a Fallen Angel"
After what felt like a year of darkness (but was realistically probably just a few seconds), I woke to a million new things invading my senses. Birds chirping. Leaves rustling in the cool breeze. The smell of fresh air. The feeling of warm sunlight against my skin. Before I even opened my eyes, my lips turned up in a smile. My journey to another world was successful.
Eden.
My eyelids finally fluttered open once I adjusted to the bright sun rays casted down through the gaps in the leaves. Slowly turning in a circle, I took in the environment around me. It was just like everyone described: full of nature and life. From an outsider's perspective, it was beautiful and might even be considered a Utopia. But, I knew better.
Eden was far from perfect.
That is, unless you are a believer in the statement "ignorance is bliss". You see, Eden is technically a Utopia. All you could ever want is yours with a simple snap of your fingers. There would be no need to leave and venture out into the real world. Although, with every seemingly perfect deal, there was always something you had to give up. A catch, if you will.
In Eden, that catch just so happened to be truth and knowledge.
As long as you do not partake of the Forbidden Fruit, you are free to live with whatever you could ask for, yet remain oblivious to the true evils of the world around you. But, as you may know from the stories, there comes a point when those in Eden begin to question the one in charge. Their creator. God.
What could be so devastating, yet so valuable that would cause your own creator to cast you out for trying to pursue it? It makes you wonder whether a Utopia is really worth living in if you don't know what you're missing outside of it. I was sure the 4 girls residing here now were going through that exact struggle.
Fortunately for me (or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it) I knew the truth of the world and had knowledge of the Loonaverse. I left Eden long ago with the help of an Odd Eye bearer. Now, I possessed an Odd Eye myself and was sent on a mission of my own. But since those residing in Eden have not had their eyes opened to the truth of the Loonaverse, I was not prohibited to grant them that knowledge myself. All I could do was aid in their own discovery.
Although, as I left the Möbius forest and approached the mansion of Eden, I realized that my mission might not be as challenging as I first thought it would be. Only one of the four were still inside; the rest, nowhere to be seen. Based on the disapproving scowl planted on the humanoid projection of the creator, I assumed they had gotten into something they weren't supposed to. Likely hiding away in the Garden of Eden. It made me wonder if Yves had already persuaded the other members to partake of the Fruit.
I supposed I would be given the opportunity to ask when Olivia Hye's eyes noticed me in the distance. It must've been a strange sight to see, a new girl in Eden that she didn't recognize. Once people left Eden, they couldn't come back. But, of course, I wasn't just a normal person. The blue Odd Eye bearer who saved me was also the one who granted me my own Odd Eye, which gave me the ability to travel between worlds.
My original color was white, pure. Because of Jinsoul, it was tainted with blue. When mixed, the light blue color symbolizes peace and trustworthiness. However, the black sin from Jinsoul's royal blue became a permanent curse upon me. This mix of purity and trustworthiness with the corruption of sin is what made me the perfect member to persuade Olivia Hye: a girl who was cursed with a mix of purity and sin herself.
Just from looking at her I could sense that she was dealing with an internal dilemma. I felt it sometimes myself: a battle between the light and the dark. It was like having an angel and a devil talking to you on each shoulder. Yet, I'm sure she felt the darkness even more than I did. There was very little black in my heart. Olivia's, on the other hand, was split right down the middle. Half filled with darkness, half with light.
She wanted to do the right thing and obey God. Not partake of the fruit and live in her image. But she also felt the pull to defy God. To break away from this boring, meaningless world and finally know the truth. Even though I knew that she would be happier here, I also knew that one person's happiness was not the priority. There was a mission to fulfill and sacrifices had to be made in order to complete it. That was my initial mindset...
Until I met her.
"Wait!" The very girl in question yelled after me. I couldn't have the creator aware of my presence, especially considering I was here with the sole purpose of persuading Olivia to defy her. That is why I ran back into the forest.
Instead of using my teleportation abilities to escape the black haired girl, I allowed her to follow me further into the forest. Once we were far enough away from the mansion, I pretended to trip and fall to the ground. Her footsteps approached quickly until she stopped dead in her tracks.
I turned around, acting as if I was confused. She stood close by, towering above me. Her eyes scanned over my face and then to my body, looking just as confused as I probably did. It seemed like she wanted to ask me about a million different questions, but the one she voiced slightly caught me off guard.
"Are you okay?" I just stared at her for a moment, not understanding why she was immediately so concerned for a strange girl she had just met. Was she really that caring or was she just desperate for human interaction?
"I-I think so." I stuttered, acting as if I was disoriented. I carefully stood up and wiped the dirt off my clothes. Olivia Hye still just observed from a few feet away.
She probably felt awkward and unsure of what to do considering she's never had to deal with a stranger before. For years it's just been her and the other three girls. Yet, I had a feeling even that was beginning to change.
"So, let me get this straight..." I looked over at Olivia, focusing on her legs dangling off the balcony of the mansion. She helped me sneak in without the "teacher" (the creator) noticing (I could've easily teleported inside myself but I couldn't let her know about my Odd Eye). We had been talking for the past few hours, trying to make sense of both of our situations.
She was shy at first, not really knowing what to say, but eventually she got comfortable talking to me. The entire time I had to act as if I had amnesia. It felt wrong lying to her but, as I said before, I wasn't allowed to give her knowledge of the Loonaverse. She would have to take that step herself. Right now, all I could do was try my best to get a grasp of the situation at hand.
"Yves found out that the teacher was supposedly hiding the truth from all of you, then she convinced the other members to go with her into the Garden of Eden, only for them to never return?" I recited a summarized version of the story she just told me to make sure I was understanding correctly. She nodded her head in confirmation, never looking back at me. "So you've been here by yourself ever since then?" Once again, she nodded. There was a frown on her face as she stared longingly into the forest where her friends disappeared to.
At first, I thought Yves's plan was clever. I was beginning to think that maybe I should've never intervened. If Olivia Hye was left in isolation for long enough, she would slowly learn to love the dark part of herself. Eventually, the betrayal of her friends would drive her to partake of the Fruit and leave Eden once and for all. The process would happen without any need for intervention.
But, the more I got to know her over the next few weeks, the more I realized that she didn't deserve it. She was pure. Although her grey heart was halfway corrupted by sin, the light side was stronger. She never chose that sin. The black was a product of her conception: Within Heejin's pink was white and on the opposite side of the spectrum was black. It was inevitable that one of the angels created in her image would be inherently corrupted.
The fallen angel. Doomed with darkness. It just so happened that would end up being Olivia Hye.
Now that I was here, Yves's plan was bound to fail. However, I knew what I had to do to get both of us back to Earth. It wouldn't be easy, it would take time and patience, but something deep within myself told me that Olivia Hye was worth the effort. That she needed to be saved or else everything would go wrong.
After all, Lucifer was a fallen angel.
A few weeks later...
"There you are, I've been looking all over for you." I said, exasperated from running around the house. "Do you know how hard it is to get anywhere in this place with that freaky lady around every corner?" Olivia had her back turned to me as I walked further into the empty room. Now that I let my eyes wander, I realized I had never been in here before. It was dark with only a few thin strips of light entering through the closed curtains. "Seriously, I'm convinced she can see through walls or something." I joked, waiting for her to join in or start laughing. "It's a miracle I haven't gotten caught y-" I stopped dead in my tracks.
There, in front of her, was a mirror reflecting her own face back at her. Once I could actually see it, my heart dropped in my chest. The only thing I could focus on was the tears streaming down her face. In all the times I had seen Olivia Hye, she had never, ever shown her vulnerable side to me. Her expression was permanently stone cold, besides very rare occasions when I made her smile or laugh.
She was clearly the type of person who held her emotions in. Too afraid to let them show: because of judgment or her own dignity, I wasn't sure. Or maybe she didn't even let herself feel them, instead burying them deep inside and hoping that they'd never surface. Whatever the case was, the only thing I knew was that, right now, in this moment, she couldn't keep them in any longer.
I didn't wait another second before rushing to her. My arms wrapped around her body just before she collapsed to the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. From the moment we made eye contact on my first day here in Eden, I just knew she was battling her own inner demons. I'm sure those days, or weeks, after her friends left her alone definitely didn't help either.
I suppose it was just naive of me to think that I was doing all I could to fix her. Sometimes other people aren't the solution, especially when it comes to mental health. In reality, it was up to her to come to terms with what she was going through and figure out her own solution. So I just did all I could to comfort her.
Even though I was there to try and mend the pieces of her heart back together, they were still ultimately broken. Yves's plan didn't fail completely after all. Except it only went halfway. Olivia felt the pain of betrayal, but she wasn't left alone long enough to learn how to love the dark part of herself.
Because I was there.
When this realization began to register in my mind, it was all too late. She stood up from my arms and stormed out of the room. I was left sitting on the ground, staring at my own reflection in the mirror. A defeated look was permanently etched across my face as one thought crossed my mind:
When did it all go so wrong?
After frantically teleporting around Eden for the past hour in search for Olivia Hye, I finally found something. A massive, grey building in the middle of the forest. Although it seemed to stick out like a sore thumb amongst the bright green trees, I knew it was practically invisible to everyone else. Simply because Olivia Hye controlled who had access to it. You see, it wasn't an actual building that existed in Eden, or anywhere in the Loonaverse for that matter.
It was Olivia Hye's mindscape...
A landscape that personified her own thoughts and emotions. It was an extremely personal and sacred part of herself. This is why only people who Olivia Hye gave permission to were allowed in. It reflected her true self. Although, she still had control over which parts of her mind I could see and which ones I couldn't.
The first thing I noticed when I entered was what appeared to be a concrete, underground parking lot. Everything was in black and white. The lines painted on the ground were white, and the floor, ceiling, and pillars were grey. The garage stretched so far in the distance, making it appear as if I were stuck in a never ending corridor, each direction only leading to darkness.
"Olivia?" I shouted, causing my voice to echo all the way down until it gradually faded, never reaching a stopping point. Chills wracked my body as an eerie feeling set in. If this is what Olivia's mindscape looked like, no wonder she's losing it. This place was lonely and consumed by darkness.
A sudden distant sound caused me to turn around. I caught a glimpse of a figure dressed in white with long black hair (although, considering everything was in black and white, it could've been any other dark color for all I know). This time I didn't hesitate before following after her. It had to be Olivia Hye, who else could it be?
I listened to the echo of her footsteps, running as fast as I could to keep her receding figure in my line of sight. Considering I never lost her, I was beginning to think she wasn't running from me, but instead, leading me somewhere. Before I could question her motives any further, she turned a corner, momentarily disappearing from view.
Once I turned the same corner, I blinked and ended up in a completely different place. In front of me appeared to be the inside of a warehouse. Different pipes and machines were scatter around the floor and lined the walls, creating a narrow walkway. I turned around and, to my surprise, there was no parking garage behind me. Instead, I was met with a solid concrete wall. Possibly another layer in Olivia Hye's mindscape, I guessed.
"Why are you here?" She finally spoke. Startled, I instinctively spun around, my eyes searching for the source of the voice.
"What do you mean?" I answered her question with another and started walking. She had to be nearby. "You are the one who invited me here." I pointed out, referring to how she gave me permission to enter her mindscape with her. Another noise sounded in the distance, making me turn towards it. She now appeared to have black clothing on, gliding through the building like a shadow.
"I meant," the voice came from my left, causing my head to jerk in that direction. I saw her figure for a second until she disappeared again. "Why are you here, in Eden?" Her voice then could be heard from my right, but that wasn't what shocked me. It was the insinuation behind her question. Did she know something? Did I foolishly give something away about who I really was?
No, surely she was just having a lapse of judgement and questioning me because she had been betrayed before. "I told you already, I don't know. I just woke up here one day with no recollection of my life from before." I tried my best to sound calm even though I was anything but. My heart raced in my chest as I continued chasing her like a little kid chasing a shadow: pointless and I would most likely never catch up to it, but I still tried.
"You know, I don't think it's unreasonable for me to find it strange, considering no one ever just wakes up in Eden." Her voice was growing more accusatory by the second and I felt the situation slipping out of hand.
"Olivia, I don't know what to tell you." I stalled for a moment, trying to think of the right thing to say without flat out lying to her face. I had done enough of that already, it didn't seem fair or even logical at this point. "I only ever wanted to help you." It was the truth. That's the exact reason why I came to Eden. Well, maybe not at first, but somewhere along the way it ended up becoming my main purpose.
"You know, I really wanted to believe that." Her voice was closer and I could hear the brokenness in her tone. "And maybe I did for a while." She chuckled bitterly, each laugh echoing through the warehouse and making me cringe. "But, then I finally realized that you've been deceiving me this whole time."
Just like before, I heard her footsteps tapping against the concrete ground. Even though it was dark, I ran blindly ahead, letting the sounds guide me. Soon enough, there appeared a light at the end of the walkway. This time it was from an open doorway on the other side of the warehouse. I watched as Olivia Hye's dark figure was outlined by the white light pouring in. It grew smaller and smaller as she approached it and eventually dissolved completely when she walked through.
Closing my eyes, I continued to blindly trust her and run through the doorway myself. My feet stopped moving when I heard nothing but silence surrounding me. I opened my eyes once more, finally noticing some color after only seeing in black and white. I was in a hallway with no end in sight, but this time, the walls were tinted with blue. Behind me was another solid blank wall, granting me no escape.
I took a deep breath in and out, trying my best to calm my erratic heartbeat. I had to keep reminding myself that this was all in Olivia Hye's mind. Just a figment of her imagination. It wasn't real.
Surely nothing could hurt me in here, right?
"You!" I jumped backwards out of fright when Olivia Hye's figure appeared at the end of the hallway. "You are no better than them!" She yelled as the anger began to radiate from her eyes in the form of red beams of light. "You lied to me!" The red became so intense that it started to cloud my vision.
"No, Olivia!" I yelled desperately, finally realizing just how much I had hurt her. "I meant it when I said I only wanted to help you." My hands instinctively raised in front of my face in an attempt to cover the blinding light. "You have to believe me!" I shouted honestly.
"Why should I trust you when everything you've said to me has been a lie?!" Her voice grew distorted as she became angrier. This was not the Olivia Hye I started to grow fond of over the past few weeks. No, this was the version of herself that she fought so hard to keep buried deep down. But now she had finally snapped and let it take over.
At this point I couldn't help but panic. Was she already too far gone? Had I really failed this suddenly? I thought we were just starting to build a relationship. But maybe all this time she was able to see through my white lies. Although, I couldn't afford to think like that. The fate of the Loonaverse depended on her. Even more than that, I knew that I couldn't lose her to the darkness.
She meant too much to me now.
"You're right." I said sadly and, for a moment, her beaming red eyes faltered. She was caught off guard, so I kept going. "I haven't been completely honest with you, so you have no reason to trust me." This seemed to ignite her anger once again and the red continued to grow around me. "But, believe me when I say that it wasn't easy... lying to you. I never wanted to." Slowly my vision was being consumed by red and I knew I was losing her. "You have to understand that I can't tell you the full truth. Not now, at least. And I know that seems unfair and confusing." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath, allowing myself to finally stable my voice before continuing. She needed to know that I was being truthful.
"I did all of this for a reason. I came here for a reason. And that reason... is you, Olivia Hye." My eyes stayed shut as I heard her approaching slowly. Whether she was angry and ready to strike, or neutral, I didn't know. But that didn't matter to me now. All that mattered was that she knew the truth. "Because you are worth saving. No matter what you might think, you deserve to be loved."
For a moment it was silent. I didn't know what to expect after I finished. In all honesty, I was scared to open my eyes. The sound of her footsteps seemed like a distant memory at this point and the vision of her laser eyes faded from my mind. Eventually, I felt a hand placed on my shoulder, causing me to open my eyes.
Unlike I expected, Olivia was not standing right in front of me. Instead, there was a metal railing a few feet away that seemed to be surrounding some sort of pit. Finally, light came pouring in from the top and all colors returned. I hesitantly walked towards the railing and looked down. The scene before me could easily be described in three simple words:
The Fallen Angel.
At the bottom of the pit sat a mattress with Olivia Hye laying on top, surrounded by white and red feathers. Her body was in such a position that made it seem like she had just fallen from the sky and landed there. If I wasn't so preoccupied with concern for her well-being, I would've thought the scene was quite picturesque. But of course, nothing beautiful lasts forever.
She sat up abruptly and frantically scanned her surroundings. It resembled someone waking up from a bad dream. Although, it seemed as if Olivia's reality was just as traumatic. She finally looked up at me and I could tell her eyes were filled with regret.
"I'm sorry." Was the first thing that left her mouth. It was then I knew that the good Olivia Hye was back. The true Olivia Hye.
"It's okay." I said honestly, walking to the edge and leaning over the railing.
She looked away and shook her head. "No, it's not okay. Look at what I put you through." The words left her mouth quickly as she scolded herself. "You were terrified of me, I could've hurt you, I could've-"
"Olivia!" I cut her off. "Look at me." She eventually did as I asked, although I could tell she was still beating herself up inside. "You had a right to be mad at me, I can't fault you for that." I sighed, still ashamed of myself for not being honest with her sooner. Although it wasn't that simple.
"No, you should be the one mad at me." She looked away and stood up, letting her negative thoughts overtake her again. "And you're wrong, I don't deserve to be loved." Her voice began breaking as she turned her hatred inward. "This dark part of me... I'm not worth saving. I-I'm a monster." Just like she did a few hours ago in front of the mirror, she broke down. The tears spilled from her eyes and she fell to her knees on the mattress.
I ran to the other side of the railing, trying desperately to get close to her so I could comfort her. But there was no way down. She would have to come up if she wanted to leave. It was all up to her at this point. I felt helpless as I watched the sobs wrack her body.
"Olivia, you have to realize that that's not true." I yelled, loud enough for her to hear, but she still kept crying. "Why do you think this darkness took over in the first place?" I questioned. She got quieter but still didn't respond. "Because of your friends betrayal... if you didn't care for them in the first place, you wouldn't have been so affected when they abandoned you."
Her sobs slowly turned to sniffles and now I knew she was listening. "Just because you get angry sometimes doesn't mean you're a monster... it means you care." My voice softened as I looked at her empathetically. "You care enough to get angry about the things you miss and to protect yourself from getting hurt any further." Finally she was done crying and looked back up at me.
"But look at what I did to you... That part of me will always be there." Her voice was broken and her eyes were red and puffy. It pained me to see her like that, but the way my heart clenched in my chest just reminded me how much I cared about her.
"Yes, it will be." I admitted with a frown. "But, look around you." My arms raised slightly as I gestured to the sunlight around us. "We're both safe... You never did anything to hurt me." A smile made its way onto my face at the thought. "Clearly you have control over both sides of your heart if you were able to bring me here, back to the light." I reasoned, and a look of realization crossed her face.
However, she continued to try and counter my argument. "I still let the darkness take over and cloud my judgement. This could've ended much worse, if you didn't say what you did."
I sighed, shaking my head. "You still don't get it, do you?" Her eyes squinted in confusion as she waited for me to continue. "You were mad at me all that time because I lied. I was saying things you didn't believe to be true. But once I said that you deserved to be loved... you started to believe it yourself." She opened her mouth to protest again but I continued.
"Whether you like it or not, the darkness is a part of you. And I know you didn't choose it... neither did I. But you have to realize that both the light and the dark are what make you, you." I paused for a moment, letting my words sink in. She looked like she was finally starting to believe what I was saying. "You have to accept it. In order to truly love yourself, you have to love everything about you, including the imperfections."
My words hung in the air for a moment afterwards, weighing heavy in Olivia's mind. She seemed to come to a conclusion soon after, acting without speaking. Her feet carried her to the edge of the pit, directly below where I was standing. She reached her hand up and I immediately leaned over to pull her out.
As soon as I made contact with her skin, I blinked and ended up in a completely different place for the fourth time today. Somehow this time felt like the last.
The final destination.
I stood at the top of a skyscraper, surrounded by an empty city. The sun was just beginning to rise, casting a faint red glow over the landscape. It was a spectacular sight and I wondered how Olivia's mind could paint such incredible pictures if she had never experienced the outside world before. Maybe it had something to do with her connection to Heejin.
"I always knew you were different." I heard Olivia Hye's voice behind me. This time it didn't scare me because her tone was gentle. I turned around to see her walking up a set of stairs, emerging from a dense fog. When she reached the rooftop, she slowly stepped towards me, her hair blowing back in the breeze. Surprisingly, her face was clear, free of tears. Her eyes were no longer puffy and her voice was stable.
My eyebrows furrowed after finally processing what she said. "What do you mean by that?" I kept my eyes trained on her face and watched her expression. It felt like walking on thin ice when I talked to her here. For all I knew this was really the dark side of her and she was the one deceiving me. After all, she was distraught and angry mere seconds ago. But something in the way she looked at me told me this was the real Olivia Hye.
While thinking of how to explain herself, she cracked a sideways smile and looked at the ground. "I mean, obviously I knew you were different because you just showed up here out of nowhere, but that's not what I'm trying to say." She stopped talking for a second and I noticed her hands tugging on the hem of her white shirt. It reminded me of the first time we met: she was so nervous and awkward, not knowing what to say.
After a few seconds passed, she looked back up, this time her eyes trained on the sunrise behind me. "No one ever really understood me. Not the other girls I grew up with and definitely not that strange old lady." She rolled her eyes at the thought and I couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at her clear dislike for the creator. "And maybe it's because I didn't appear to be... I don't know, broken?" Her voice sounded unsure but I nodded my head, showing her that I understood what she meant.
"But, somehow, you immediately knew what I was going through." She made eye contact with me again, a confused look on her face. "And even now, you knew exactly what to say to calm me down." Her eyebrows furrowed and she looked back down. I could practically see the gears turning in her brain as her eyes searched the ground. "How could you possibly understand?"
I let out a breath and took a step towards her. This caused her eyes to focus back onto mine as she waited for my response. "We're more alike than you realize, Olivia." This statement only seemed to confuse her more, so I continued, "There's not much that I can tell you now, but once this is over, I will explain everything to you." My eyes held guilt, showing her that I really did hate hurting her like this. "No more lies. No more hiding things."
I took another step and reached down to grab her hand. "All you have to do is take the final step." My other hand reached into my pocket and grabbed the only thing I brought here with me. "If you want to know the truth," I placed the item in her hand, "this is the only way." Finally, after clasping her hands around it, I closed my eyes and pictured a place in my mind.
When I opened my eyes again, we were no longer standing on top of a skyscraper. Just like a month ago, I heard birds chirping and leaves rustling around me. The fresh air and warm sunlight enveloped my senses. Olivia Hye stood in front of me with her white and green schoolgirl outfit on. Her hands were still clasped around the object I gave her as she looked at her surroundings. For the second time today, her face washed over with realization.
The Garden of Eden.
I watched as she looked down and opened her palms to reveal a dark red blood plum. Now was finally the moment I had been waiting for. The very climax of my mission. This moment determined the future of the Loonaverse. Whether it was doomed to repeat on an endless time loop or was destined to be saved and it's knowledge shared with the rest of the world. All she had to do was take a bite from the blood plum: partake of the Forbidden Fruit.
She looked at me skeptically, her eyes bouncing back and forth between me and the fruit. After all her time here in Eden being told not to eat the fruit, here comes a stranger telling her to do exactly that. A stranger who has done nothing but deceive her this entire time. It seemed ridiculous and I knew she was thinking that too. But I also knew that I cared for her, and I hoped to any higher power that she would realize that.
"I know this seems like I'm going against everything I just told you... but you have to trust me." I stared deep into her eyes, doing everything in my power to show that this wasn't another trick. "If there was any other option, I never would've forced you make this decision. Because I know how much this hurts you." I let out a sigh and frowned. "But this is the only way." Her eyebrows furrowed in concern.
At this point I could practically see the devil and angel debating in her mind. She was literally and figuratively torn down the middle. But I knew she had the power to harness both sides. The light and the dark. I knew she was strong enough to control both and use them to make the hard decision. Although this would be committing a sin, in the long run she would be doing more good than bad. She would be helping the entire world. All Loonas around the world would be free of oppression and finally see the truth.
No more lies and deceptions.
No more endless time loop.
No more darkness.
I wanted to explain all these things to her. I wanted to tell her that this seemingly bad choice was really for a good cause. But I couldn't. So, I stepped forward and put my hand over hers. She looked up at me, surprised by my sudden movements. My other hand grabbed her chin to make sure she was paying attention to what I said next, "I would never do anything to hurt you, and if my words still don't convince you to trust me, then let this..."
She watched in confusion while I moved her clasped hands out of the way so I could stand mere centimeters away from her. Then, I did the only thing I could think of. The only thing that felt right. The only thing that could show her how important she was to the world. How important she was to me.
I kissed her.
As she slowly gave in and kissed me back, an indescribable feeling of warmth radiated from her. In that moment, I felt her mind made up and her heart finally change. She might not have learned to completely love the dark part of herself yet, but that didn't matter... because I did. I loved every single part of her, even the imperfections. So, to her, that made it worth the effort. It would still take time for her to accept herself, but she was finally willing to try.
And the first step started now:
"I trust you."

Summary: It’s the end of the world and
Summary: After a concert in your home country, you are reminded of the sacrifices you were forced to make to become an idol and begin to doubt your decision. All it takes is a warm embrace and a few comforting words from one of the women you love to remind you that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be.
Warnings: angst, brief implications of homophobia, fluff
The plain hotel room that greeted us when we got back from the concert venue was quiet and dark. I left it that way, just taking a seat in the far corner of the room, letting out a sigh when I was finally off my feet. Without a word, Siyeon slipped into the bathroom and I heard the shower turn on not long after. For the next fifteen minutes, I stayed there, listening to the muffled sound of running water and allowing my mind to wander.
Touring was one of my favorite things I did as an idol. But it wasn't always as enjoyable as it should've been. The shows were fun, but those long periods in between concerts gave me too much time to think. Too much time to realize that I had less freedom as an idol. It had always been my dream to become a singer, but I never fully considered what I'd have to give up in order to fulfill that dream. Now I often wondered if it was even worth it.
Especially here in my home country where I'm reminded by the fans' unapologetic personalities of what I gave up. Had I stayed here and chosen any other profession, I wouldn't have to hide such a big part of myself. I'd be free to be who I was and live the way I wanted without fear. It was different for the other members because they grew up having to act that way. For me, it was still hard to adjust. And it hurt having to pretend.
My thoughts brought on an unavoidable feeling of stress that made my cheeks burn and I felt the need to get some fresh air. So, I stepped through the sliding glass door to the balcony and leaned over the metal railing, enjoying the feeling of the summer breeze gliding across my face. I was up high enough that the street noise was muffled by the wind. It was peaceful, but it made me feel lonely. As I took in the soft white surface of the moon, I couldn't help but feel trapped by my situation and wonder whether anyone else could possibly understand this feeling.
As if my negative thoughts were loud enough to hear, I felt arms wrap around me from behind only minutes later. At first I was startled by the sudden contact, momentarily forgetting I wasn't alone, but eventually I leaned back into her touch with a heavy sigh, knowing it was Siyeon. She put her head on my shoulder, her nose almost touching my left cheek, and I let my hands rest on top of hers. Being in her arms instantly made me feel better. It felt like her way of reminding me that I really wasn't alone.
"What's on your mind, jagi?" Siyeon whispered softly near my ear. The pet name made my heart flutter but the clear concern in her tone brought the negative emotions back. I hated feeling this way. Not just because it sucked feeling so lost, but because I hated making her feel helpless.
Sighing again, I looked out over the city wishing that everything was different. "I'm just wondering if I made the right choice becoming an idol."
I wanted to pretend that I was here in my hometown with Siyeon—not for a concert, not because we were idols in the same group—but because I invited her here on a trip to do something normal, like meet my family or go visit my favorite places from my childhood. I didn't want to be forced to worry about people taking pictures of us and starting rumors. I didn't want the obligation to act a certain way that comes with being famous. I didn’t want any of it. And I was nearly at my breaking point.
Without replying, Siyeon turned me around in her arms and put her hands on my cheeks. We stayed like that for a few seconds, just staring into each other's eyes and I felt so much love seeing the way she looked at me: Like I was the most important thing in the world. There was no doubt in my mind that she would love and protect me with everything in her for the rest of her life. And it wasn't even a question whether I would do the same.
"I know you wish things were different,” she smiled sadly, “I do too." Her voice was still soft as she rubbed her thumb across my cheek while her eyes took in every inch of my face. I wondered how she always knew exactly what I was thinking. "But look at it this way..." she stopped her gentle strokes against my skin and looked into my eyes. "If you hadn't become an idol," the corner of her lips tilted upwards revealing half of her beautiful smile, "you would've never met us."
Though I still felt the weight of my negative thoughts, her statement managed to make me smile. Through one of the most difficult choices of my life I may have been forced to conceal a part of who I was, but I still ended up finding seven of the most important people in my life. Even if I felt like being an idol had more risks than rewards, those seven girls made it worth it. At least I could be myself around them and they loved the part of me that I wasn't allowed to show anyone else.
"You're right," I whispered and leaned forward so that my forehead was resting against hers and our noses were touching. Even when I felt lost, she kept me grounded. She and the other members... they were where I belonged. Where I felt found. They were home.
"I love you so much, you know that, right?" Siyeon told me, her voice so quiet and fragile. She’d told me she loved me countless times before, but something about this one felt different.
"I know." And I did. I knew she meant it. And I knew what she meant. It was hard to explain, but I felt it too. We loved each other and the other members in a way that couldn't be defined. It wasn’t limited to platonic or romantic. It was more than that. We all loved each other so much that we couldn't bear the thought of living without one another. It felt like we were meant to be together. Like we were destined to meet. Like soulmates. And, as long as it was up to us, we would be together until the day we died.
Sometimes it felt like I didn't have the words to tell them how much they meant to me. And I think that's why Siyeon did what she did after I told her I loved her back... she kissed me. It was gentle and just enough to express how she felt. She’d never kissed me before, but it didn't seem any different than her hugging me or kissing me on the cheek. It was just another way for her to show how much she truly loved me. Bora and Minji did it often with me and a few of the other members who accepted it, but I knew it meant more to Siyeon.
Once it was over, I nestled my head in the crook of her neck with my arms wrapped around her torso. She pulled me close with hers around my shoulders and ran her fingers through my hair. I stayed there, breathing in her fresh scent and feeling completely content.
It didn't matter if the world never knew who I truly was, because they did.

🔮 Dreamcatcher (OT7) x Female Reader
Summary: As the 8th member of Dreamcatcher, y
Summary: Knowing you’re listening to their voice vlive, the unnie line decides to tease you by talking about how good you look in your stage outfit. It doesn’t take long for you to cave and walk over to their room with your own plan in mind to get them back… or, at least one of them.
Warnings: mild sexual content
Your phone screen illuminated the dark hotel room as you laid in bed, just staring at the ceiling and missing the warmth of a certain black-haired dancer who happened to be your roommate this tour. The beat of your heart pounded against your chest as you listened to the soothing and admittedly attractive voices of the three oldest members of your group over the phone. They must've gotten bored in their hotel room across the hall and decided to turn on a voice vlive so the fans could entertain them.
Whatever the reason, you were happy with their decision. That way you could sit there and daydream about them with the flustering and comforting background music of their smooth voices fueling your imagination. Though, being in a relationship with all of them, you didn't have to imagine much. Really, knowing that you could simply walk over there and get away with acting on your desires should've been enough to stop your ridiculous fantasizing, but you convinced yourself that you shouldn't rudely interrupt their livestream.
That didn't last long.
"Who looks best in their stage outfits this comeback?" Siyeon's voice that had grown raspy with her tiredness spoke, reading a question from a fan.
A short moment of silence followed, along with a hum from Minji. You could just picture all of them looking at each other with grins on their faces. Siyeon knew what she was doing reading that comment. The fans loved this kind of stuff. Bora laughed after they stayed quiet for too long and a noise sounded through the phone that you knew had to be her smacking Siyeon.
"I think everyone looks good,” Minji answered.
"What?" Bora mumbled, still giggling, this time at Minji's attempt to deflect the question. You had a feeling the leader was sporting one of her infamous lifeless smiles she always had as the chaos unfolded around her.
Siyeon chuckled. "They said just one member."
Minji hummed again, pretending like she was processing the new information and they all stayed quiet for a second more. You could hear whispers from the other end and it was obvious they were messing with each other.
"If I had to pick one..." Bora started, and you could practically hear the smirk in her voice as she paused for dramatic effect, knowing everyone listening was on the edge of their seat, “then I think Y/NN looks the best."
You shouldn't have been surprised, and you really weren’t, but your body still had a physical reaction to her words, sending your heart rate through the roof. Both of the other members made noises of agreement and you were no longer content being a room away from them when they started describing in detail how good you looked and how the outfit complimented very specific parts of your body. They were clearly teasing, knowing how much their words affected you. But you couldn’t help it. You grew hot listening to all three of them talking about you in that way, especially since they sounded so comfortable doing it—as if they had done it endless times before in private...
Your uneasiness and impatience soon sprung you from the bed and to the door. There's no way you could just sit there and take it. Somehow you had to get back at them. Or at least one of them…
"Hey!" you shouted angrily after using the keycard Minji gave you to open the door to their hotel room. All three of them looked up and you watched as grins slowly spread across two of their lips—Minji still played innocent. You had to resist the urge to freeze in that moment because of how lightheaded their stares made you feel. Instead you forced yourself to keep walking towards the bed they were sitting on. "I heard my name,” you directed your eyes towards Bora who was laying at the foot of the bed with her legs dangling off the edge. "Were you guys talking smack?" You raised an eyebrow, resisting the urge to smile at how unserious you sounded having to refrain from cursing since the fans could hear.
Siyeon laughed and Minji looked like she was about to say something until Bora cut in. "Yeah, and what about it?" she countered, giving you a challenging stare.
You grinned back at her, knowing it was all a joke and none of them probably expected you to do anything drastic. So you took a seat next to the dancer on the bed, waiting for your moment to catch them off guard.
"We were discussing the members' stage outfits," Minji explained with a smile and kept eye contact with you for a second, as if trying to communicate through her eyes since the fans were still listening. You just knew they were eating this up and hanging onto every single word you were saying.
"Who do you think looks best in their outfit?" Siyeon tested, drawing your eyes to her. There was no doubt from the look on her face that she was enjoying this way too much. They knew the real reason you came in here... their relentless indirect flirting had obviously gotten to you… bad. And that’s exactly what they wanted. You could just feel the pride radiating from the red-haired woman. Driving you crazy had to be her favorite hobby. But you couldn’t let them think they won.
"Me?" You replied like you were completely oblivious. A smirk made its way onto your lips as you started acting out your plan. Each of them watched closely when you looked back down at Bora and pushed yourself up to straddle her hips. She inhaled sharply and her eyebrows raised involuntarily when you leaned down over her, placing your hands on her bare skin just above her waistband. She stared up at you, already flustered, and clenched her jaw, straining her neck a little when you slowly glided your fingers across her soft skin, trailing them over the curves of her abs. She reached her hands up to grab your wrists and her grip tightened the further up your fingers traveled, but she never tried to stop you.
"The member I think looks best in her outfit," you stopped and used one of your hands to flip your hair to one side before leaning over Bora’s face. "Is obviously," you bit your lip, knowing she found it attractive, before running your palms across her chest. Her eyes closed and her head lulled back against the bed in pleasure like she always did when you touched her like this. The feeling of her nipples hardening under her thin crop-top made your mouth water and had you instinctively tightening your thighs around her waist. She still didn’t dare move, too mesmerized by your touch. Seeing her so submissive made your stomach twist. Your lips lingered just above her own and she opened her eyes to watch with anticipation as you stared down at her.
She was ready to lean up and initiate the kiss herself when you suddenly answered in a seductive voice, "Siyeon unnie.”
It took a second, but Bora’s aroused expression gradually contorted into anger when she finally processed the words that left your mouth. Before she could do anything, you quickly pushed yourself up from her lap and jumped off the bed, anticipating exactly what was coming next.
The room instantly erupted into chaos with Minji and Siyeon laughing and Bora yelling, "Yah!" she darted after you before you could get very far. "Come here, you little-" with a shove, you were sent onto the other bed, bouncing a little as you landed on your back. She didn't waste a single second, pouncing on top of you so that you now switched positions. You laughed as she started hitting you and attempted to swat her hands away.
"Help! Sua's attacking me," you shouted for the fans to hear.
Finally growing sick of your jokes, Bora ended up snatching your wrists and roughly pushing you back against the bed, pinning your hands above your head. The laughter and yelling ceased instantly the second her lips found their way to yours. It became obvious pretty quickly that your plan to rile her up had succeeded a little too well when her kisses turned aggressive. By the second one, her tongue had already found its way into your mouth and you couldn't do anything to stop her incessant attack with your hands captured in her strong grip. For such a small woman, she had more power than she knew what to do with and god, it was sexy.
The other two women in the room started yelling at both of you to stop 'fighting' in a way that you knew was joking, only because they knew the fans were still listening. At this point, they were just making noise so the fans wouldn't realize what was actually going on after the sudden strange silence.
"Yah, stop it," you breathed out against Bora’s lips, loud enough for the fans to hear.
Bora reluctantly released your lips after biting your bottom one (almost too hard), replying, “you started it.” All you could do was laugh weakly to try and play it off like you were actually fighting. Though it was hard for you to make any innocent noises when she let go of your hands to shove hers under your shirt and start sucking down on your neck.
"Unnie," you whispered, voice wavering when her fingers slipped under your sports bra. "Fuck," you muttered through gritted teeth and gripped her thighs tightly. Her hands cupped your breasts, thumbs teasing your nipples at the same time that she started grinding against your stomach. Your eyes squeezed shut at the sensation and you weren’t able to hold back a moan this time. Except a fast hand managed to stifle it before the fans could hear.
When you opened your eyes again, the image of Siyeon standing over you with her hand covering your mouth and the feeling of Bora still rolling her hips across your body was enough to have you dripping in painful arousal. And suddenly you knew you were in big trouble when Minji made up an excuse to end the live so abruptly and Siyeon's gaze turned mean. They weren't gonna let you get away with this one that easily.

🐤 Sua x Female Reader
Summary: On your day alone in the dorm, you make the foolish deci
Summary: After you’re forced to watch for half an hour on the sidelines as Dami’s photographed in her Calvin Klein sports bra and denim jacket, you can’t help but take out your sexual frustrations on her when you’re finally alone… even if that means interrupting her vlive.
Warnings: (implied) sexual content
You knew Dami was in your shared room doing a voice vlive and you knew you definitely shouldn't bother her until she was done, but the sight of her in a tiny cropped denim jacket and matching jeans left unbuttoned for the photoshoot showing off her Calvin Klein bra and boxers and her smooth, tan stomach made you lose sight of all rationality and walk into your room anyways.
She was talking to the fans about something (and you were too distracted by the fake tattoo on her hip to be bothered by what that something was), barely noticing or minding your presence. Had she known the thoughts running through your mind after an entire day of seeing her in that outfit, she probably would've shooed you away immediately, fearing the things you might do or say to her while the fans could hear.
But, she couldn't possibly know any of this as you got in bed and slid in between her and the wall, an innocent expression on your face disguising your true intentions. She simply sent you a curious glance, her attention still mostly on her phone as she scrolled through the live chat. You leaned onto your elbow and held your head up with your hand while you watched her fingers flexing as she flicked them across the screen. Just the simple action sent your mind wandering to past memories of late nights shared between you and her and a heat started rushing through your body.
When she brought the phone closer to her face to read something out loud, you watched her lips move, licking your own at the thought of what they tasted like. She shifted her jaw in thought, moving your gaze to her jawline and down her neck. At her movements, the muscles there tightened and relaxed, making you subconsciously swallow. You couldn't explain what it was, but something about her neck was so attractive and only worsened the burning in the pit of your stomach.
Dami must've noticed you staring, her eyes meeting yours with a curious expression. She raised her eyebrows, a hint of amusement on her lips. Well... until she finally recognized the look in your eyes. In that moment you scooted close enough so that your sides were touching and your faces were mere inches apart. You bit your lip and glanced at hers before sliding your hand down her body and placing it on her warm, bare stomach. The feeling of her soft skin was addicting and your fingers slowly moved lower until they met the waistband of her boxers.
You could tell your actions caught her off guard because her eyebrows raised slightly and she had to clench her jaw to stop herself from gasping. Although Dami wasn't one to give her feelings away easily, her tinted cheeks exposed just how much you were affecting her. Without sparing a second, you closed the distance to kiss her... except your lips never met, her hand shooting up to grip your neck. The panicked look in her eyes told you that she had done it in fear that the fans would hear, but her hand placement didn't have quite the effect she wanted it to.
"Yub-" you started to whine in protest but, with one hand preoccupied with her phone and the other loosely clutching your neck, she had no choice but to cut off your voice with her lips. Finally, you sunk into her mouth, showing her how much you’d wanted her all day with just one kiss. You kept her bottom lip between yours, prolonging the kiss for as long as possible. She let out a staggered exhale against your cheek through her nose and followed you as you pulled back slowly. It may have just been so that your lips didn't make a sound with their release, but the way she didn't seem too concerned about the voice live at that moment convinced you that she did it because she didn't actually want you to pull away.
Either way, when it ended, she still gently pushed you off of her, making sure to lightly remove your hand from her waist before looking back at her phone and quickly reading a comment in hopes that the fans weren't suspicious of the long silence and, more importantly, that they didn't hear any of what just went down between you two. Dami usually scolded you for your unprofessional behavior, but it was obvious that she was never actually mad at you. And you sometimes even wondered if she got off on exhilarating moments like these where you both knew you’d be in massive trouble had the fans somehow found out what was really happening.
For the next few minutes you decided not to test her patience and instead laid there on your side, staring at her. She was clearly uneasy after what just happened and thankfully ended the live not long after. Once she was sure it was turned off properly, she faced you. Unlike what you expected, she didn't start ridiculing you for your careless actions, but instead shoved your shoulder to lay you flat on the bed and climbed on top of you, situating herself between your legs.
Dami was never one to be this aggressive and you found your head spinning with both lust and confusion as she grabbed your neck again to kiss you deeply. Her other hand held her up so that all her weight wasn't on you, leaving a gap between your bodies. You took advantage of the space, putting your palm on her flat stomach while running the other across her side until you reached her hip. You felt her shiver at the ghost of your fingers across her skin and smirked into her mouth, remembering how sensitive she was there.
This made her pull back from your lips and look down at you. She appeared less like the warm, soft woman you were used to and now looked intimidating. You breathed heavily, keeping her intense eye contact as her hand travelled down your arm to where your fingers were toying with her waistband. She grabbed your wrist and abruptly pinned your hand above your head, leaning over you again and whispering, "Is this what you wanted?" Her voice was calm but threatening and it sent a tingle through your body. You’d never done anything to elicit this sort of reaction out of her and you didn’t know yet whether to be thankful or regretful for your previous actions.
You swallowed hard, feeling your pulse race from how different she was acting. Your head nodded on its own in response but she didn't seem satisfied.
"Say it,” she commanded in a deep voice. Her lips grazed across your jawline as she leaned in to whisper in your ear, “Tell me what you want." You shivered.
A few seconds after her words, you felt her fingers intertwine with yours where she held your hand at the head of the bed and your heart skipped a beat. You knew it was her way of reminding you that she would never do or say anything to make you uncomfortable. When you didn't answer immediately, she was probably worried that she’d taken it too far. But you needed her to know this is exactly what you wanted. So you replied,
"I want you."
That was all it took for her to pull back and capture your lips in hers, spending the rest of the night granting your wish over and over again until you were both satisfied.

Baeeee i hope you’re doing good! I don’t mean to push!!!! But will you be continuing some of the OT8 imagines?
Hiii. You’re okay, I know I’ve been super inactive lately. To be completely honest, I probably won’t be updating much on here for the next few months. I’m finishing up my last semester of college and taking four English classes (one being a thesis class) is proving to be an INSANE amount of work.
But, I’ll try to make an effort to post some of my other imagines from Wattpad onto here when I find the time. Hopefully this is a bit of good news if you haven’t gone over there to check those out yet.
Of course, once I’ve graduated, I’ll be happy to come back and write on here for you guys.
Thank you for reading and being invested. Sorry I couldn’t give you much to look forward to, but I genuinely appreciate you reaching out 🩵
