Hiya, I've just found your blog! I just wanted to share what aplatonicism—and generally being loveless—means to me.

The most important thing in my life are my studies. I'm a scholar of English Literature, a critic and an essayist. I put everything into my work, and you could basically say that I'm married to it. I have friends, and the roles which they play are to support me in this key ambition. They don't make fun of me for being a nerd or misperceive me as a workaholic, so they can really help me feel like I belong and give me helpful advice. Socialising are also important as breaks from studying so that I don't burn out. Our relationship is usually balanced, and I understand them in their own way, rather than through my own lens. Friendships are a necessary component of my life (I could not have been so successful without them), but they are also not inherently what I am living for. They feel to me more extrinsic like food or living space: equally necessary, equally wanting in a good quality, but admittedly replaceable.

ok i'm alive again, apologies for disappearing as soon as i opened up but a lot of stuff started happening irl and i just wasn't able to give this blog the attention it deserved but I'm back now and reopening the ask box
