I'm doing Artist Alley at a nostalgia-themed con here in a little over a month, so I'm using it as an excuse to work on some fanart for some older series that I've wanted to do anyways. I've got a couple more planned for the near future, so keep an eye out!

I also kind of love that you can pick any two of them and they have something in common: Momo and Saiki share similar color schemes, Saiki and Okarun have their glasses, Okarun and Mob have their school uniforms, Mob and Momo both make frequent use of telekinesis, Saiki and Mob have similarly introverted/stoic demeanors, and of course Momo and Okarun share the love their experiences/universe.

Way back in 2013 I accidentally started a tradition of posting ship art on February 19-- when I realized I had done it three times by sheer coincidence I decided to make it a tradition and ever since, I've at least tried to get something drawn every year on or shortly after the 19th of one of my OTPs. This year's is late for a couple of reasons: (1) This is actually my first finished art of Haikaveh because despite their being one of my absolute favorite pairing in any media, I find their dynamic really difficult to capture, (2) Genshin outfits are complicated as hell and I have a love-hate relationship with that, and (3) I honestly kind of forgot until Monday. I actually had intended to do something with them "dressed down" to save myself the complicated outfit issues, but then I saw the picture I used for the pose reference for this and thought of the KFC collab masquerade ball and there was no stopping me.

I feel like it really shows that I've studied Kaveh's outfit much more intensely than Alhaitham's; I have all the fabric to make a cosplay of it because honestly I'm just obsessed with it, and it's just a matter of finding the time to draft and make it. Meanwhile Alhaitham's back flounce thingies got redrawn about seven times before I kinda just gave up.

Here's my contribution to the whole 2016 trend; a collection of finished art pieces from 10 years ago. I really liked the idea of drawing a comic loosely based on my life so you'll se a lot of that in this set.

Looking at so much of my old art is kind of intriguing; for one thing I have no concept of time and I tend to still think of drawing as something that I "haven't been doing that long," whereas looking at this reminds me that nearly a third of my life ago I was so thoroughly invested in drawing that I had made the switch from traditional to digital for the majority of my finished pieces, I was actively developing my personal art style so much so that I can see elements that can be found in my current art, and I was even toying with a regular comic concept, even if I never had enough motivation/ideas to go forward with that.

Obviously I can see significant improvements in terms of ability-- there's some of these I'm actually wanting to redraw in the near future too-- but it isn't like some of my old stuff that makes me want to crawl out of my own skin to look at it. I also just enjoy the time capsule of what fandoms I was really into at the time and how I saw myself then; I've changed a lot as a person since 2016, but I'm still a massive dork, so there's that.

Finished product of the WIP I shared recently! I really am so much more happy with how this turned out vs. the original from 2020. Clip Studio Paint definitely has lots of settings that help with my chronic refusal to put any effort into backgrouns, so that's nice.

While pulling up references for this, I ended up being reminded of Aizawa's fantastic hot pink sweatpants and I haven't been able to stop thinking about them since.

Work in progress share! Redrawing a piece from 2020 that started out almost exclusively because Present Mic has kinda similar hair to Jessie. The thing that absolutely blows my mind here is that I was pretty proud of the original drawing when I made it, but now I just look at it and cringe. Part of that is a testament to the improvement I've made in this time, but at the same time, I've looked at some even older pieces that look better than this one too, so go figure.

This was just me slapping some rough color in my final sketches to see how the layering looked, but even as an unfinished rough drawing I'm so much happier with it now than the first version.

I didn't grow up playing or watching Pokemon; honestly I still don't (I cant wrap my mind around type matchups and it just ends up feeling like math homework to me) but I'm obsessed with the Team Rocket Trio, especially James. And because I'm insane and have zero chill, of course my first finished art piece of 2026 is inflatable-boobs bikini James.

I grabbed Clip Studio Paint when they had a sale on because as nice as the bells and whistles in Photoshop are, I realllllllly hate paying $20 a month to them. This is my first "real" piece in CSP beyond just doodles to test the setup/workflow. So far I'm liking CSP and feel like I almost have more control over my settings, so that's exciting! I don't love the lack of CMYK support, but I'll live. There's some things too that I like better about PS so far, especially "technical" things like setting up evenly spaced tables, shapes, etc. but it may be that I just haven't found the settings I need. It'll just take more learning/tweaking.

Like how I said I was going to post in the time leading up to the conventions and then I just didn't? I do have a tendency to bite off more than I can chew, so l've been busy getting everything ready for the conventions. Tonight's project was labeling bags for anime cat mystery packs. I've been playing around with gouache recently. This was the Kaoru painting that turned out good enough to complete; I was working on two at once and the other one more or less ended up being the practice and then I got the colors mixed better on this once. Teen Kaoru is so gorgeous; I want to steal his gender~

Somehow I'm just realizing I never posted these pin designs? I'm a staunch Paimon enjoyer and a huge fan of Anemo pretty boys so these four were the obvious top choice for Genshin designs after 4ggravate. The exciting news is I just got my first shipment of pins in, so as soon as I get photos taken I'll get them listed for sale!

I had Dream Hotel's "Cherry Blossoms" on my main spotify playlist for like a year and a half before I ever even watched Sk8 the Infinity and then I didn't even clue into it being about matchablossom until it was outright pointed out to me. For no particular reason I just was always assuming it was a sapphic song. Now I like it ten times as much as before and almost every time it comes up I play it at least 2-3 times.

I'm personally more of the opinion that Joe and Cherry probably didn't actually get together until after season 1, but I also really like the idea of them getting together in Paris, partially because I think Kaoru would be pissed off about how cliche it is. I also think he'd let a little bit more of his inner punk out overseas where he doesn't have a professional image to maintain.

My daily mood tracker blanket is underway. This is the first row of it. I am more or less keeping up with it; I don't crochet my square every day like I "properly" should but that's ADHD for you. I do make note of my mood daily and then crochet a bunch all at once. This picture is nowhere near caught up; this would just be through January 17, but I've not kept up with photographing it at this point.

If you saw my post where I shared my plan to make this and my color key, you may recall I said I was going to do hexagons and not granny squares. I changed my mind on this after the first couple of days when I realized I wouldn't be able to do a continuous join as you go black border with that, at least not with the layout I was planning to follow (it was a diagonal corner to corner layout). With squares it's much more manageable. The finished blanket is probably going to be way bigger than I intended, but honestly, what else is new.

Birthday gift for a friend of mine! They're the reason I finally got around to watching Bungou Stray Dogs and Dazai's their favorite so I made her a little Dazai amigurumi. I used to make amigurumi dolls of favorite characters quite often, and I've seen so many cute ones online recently, which has had me dying to get back into it, so this was the perfect excuse to try it out. He's got wire armature inside him to give him some poseability, and his trenchcoat is removable. This is the first time I've done hair with crocheted strands like this; it's not perfect but I do like how it turned out for a first try. It's definitely got me excited to get back into making anime/video game characters and things; I'm going to be trying out various base patterns and eventually the goal is to create a pattern of my own that reflects my own personal style.
