In general, I really like the cool droplets on the wrinkled peach mushroom and the devil's tooth, but if we're talking just about mushrooms that I myself have found, then my favourite is the scarlet elf cup. It was the first typical spring mushroom I found this year, which really signalled to me that spring was here and made me very happy.

Clitocybe squamulosa

I couldn't find an English common name for this one, so I decided I have make one. I will call this an amber needle, because the colour reminds me of amber, and this species grows in needles.

Train wrecker (Neolentinus lepideus)

I found this little cluster in a dirt patch next to a road, which fits into the reputation of its species. The common name 'train wreck' comes from this shroom's resiliance; it can grow in lots of unlikely places like in coal mines or close to train tracks.

Weeping bolete (Suillus granulatus)

These are considered very tasty in my country, but I don't trust myself to forage anything yet, even if I'm very sure about my ID.

Chicken of the woods (Laetiporus)

I think it's probably L. sulphureus, but 100% Laetiporus. It's one of my first times finding a technically edible mushroom, although I didn't take it with me because this one is quite old and it's next to railroad tracks so it could possibly cause some health problems.

Saw some very cool art on an old house. Obviously the thing that drew me to it was the depiction of a veiled lady, or Phallus indusiatus.

Unrelated to my usual posts, I know, but I went to Kuldīga and got some very pretty photos of Ventas Rumba. The first two are taken from the old brick bridge, and the third is the view of the bridge itself from a watchtower.

Salt-loving mushroom (Agaricus bernardii)

I tried to bring one home and make a spore print, but I was sadly unsuccessful. We won't speak of that experiment. I relate to these ones a lot because I also love salt.

Big fan of Ophiocordyceps Unilateralis cause cool insect manipulating sci-fi fungus, but I also really like the magpie inkcap, simply because I like magpies and I like fungi, so when I first saw that there was a mushroom named 'magpie mushroom', I immediately went 'Yes. I approve.'

Wolf's milk slime mould (Lycogala epidendrum)

Whoever named a bunch of fungi and slime moulds must have been really into canines, cause I keep stumbling upon species names that are related to dogs or wolves.

Brick cap (Hypholoma lateritium) plus a bonus firebug

The mushroom could be another species of Hypholoma such as a conifer tuft or sulphur tuft, but I'm getting strong brick cap vibes from it. You also get a firebug because I'm a generous god.

The same patches of brick caps but a week later. It's interesting to see how quickly they change and mature.

Dog's vomit slime mould (Fuligo septica)

No idea why F. septica's most known common name is dog vomit. In my opinion, it's very pretty and looks much more like scrambled eggs, which is another common name for it. It doesn't look much like vomit in the first place. Truly abhorrent.

Some sort of morels (Morchella), probably a landscape black morel but I'm not completely sure.

Found a massive artist's conk (Ganoderma applanatum)

This one was a very big boy, 16cm in width and 47cm in length. It was growing in a cemetary, trying to appear mysterious and edgy no doubt.

Found a very scenic river on my walk (and crawl) through the forest. (Also bee)

Some huge scarlet elf cups I found near a stream, plus my hand for scale.

Don't mind my very dirty hand in the first picture, I had to do many things to obtain the branch the mushroom was growing on.
