I lost a childhood cat today, he was 14 and we've had him all his life. I ran away from my dad's at 17 and had to leave him behind. I've been minimal contact since I left and I just got a call that said cat passed away. I don't understand if I am allowed to even grieve because I left the cat and that's on me.
