electricity is out everywhere, people are scared, we’re still recovering from hurricane maria and houses have collapsed. please stay tuned, i will try to keep updated as long as my battery holds out.

a little update: the quakes haven’t stopped. we’ve had over 21 registered today, but there have been more; its just that they are too many to keep accurate track of. we’re still without power and signal is wonky. my anxiety is through the roof and i can’t cope, and i know im not the only one. please donate if you can to the hispanic federation: https://www.hispanicfederationunidos.org/donate-now-earthquake-emergency

an update! we still dont have power and as of today there have been around 920 registered earthquakes since december 28. thankfully, there werent any significant tremors last night for the first time in three nights! however the possibility of another big earthquake or an even bigger one is still very real— and we are living in fear. people had to sleep outside their houses last night, in the cold and with no where to go. please, donate if you can. if not, i’m begging you to spread the word.

Reminder that it really doesn’t matter what ways you’re marginalized, if you’re not black you’re just as capable of anti blackness as white cishet people. No amount of “but I’m gay!”, “but I’m trans!”, or “but I’m not white!” changes that.

I’d fucking love it if white people didn’t use this post to pat themselves on the back. I guarantee that no amount of “don’t people know this already?” or “isn’t this obvious?” will actually make you a good ally to black people.

The only things that will make you a good ally to us is listening to us, boosting our voices, defending us when we need it, calling out your fellow whites when they display overt and/or covert racist behavior, and checking yourself consistently.
