do you have any advice on how to draw tenna as accurately to canon as you do????

thank you !! my tennas still need more work but i really appreciate you think they look on model \o/ my advice boils down to: -check his sprite sheet for reference. constantly. keep it on you at all times! -redraw his sprites at least once to practice his proportions -observe how other artists draw him and take notes! this post is very good to understand his basic shapes, drawing him on model is quite simple once you understand he's built with a bunch of circles, rectangles and round edges :-) his proportions and design in general is extremely cartoony so small tweaks like giving him big ass cartoon hands/shoes/tie and making his torso smaller can go a long way. also i believe most of his body has like, round edges? the only part of his body that's pointy is his nose, so dont forget to make it pointy and big and 3d looking, it's what he would have wanted. anyways, i painted over one of my very first tennas from 11 months ago and the difference is baffling. my research has been fruitful and yours will be too

"shipping and blorbofication are not inherently at odds with understanding a story's deep themes" and "some people can't grasp the themes of a story because they never learned how to engage with stories outside of the lens of shipping and blorbofication" are two statements that can coexist

blorbofication to me is when you love a character in such a laser focus way that you somewhat detach them from the narrative from which they are inserted and treat them in a way roughly similar to how you'd treat an oc for which you still have no story and just like to put them in situations just for fun. which there's nothing wrong with btw, it's just that it can easily lead to people forgetting the character engine in a narrative and not just a barbie doll
