My boy Kylo was so hurt after Rey left, but so was she.
It’s completely understandable why she left, but once she did, Kylo was left to be alone again.
When they started getting closer, bless the force bond, he was able to meet someone else that understood the pain he went through; being abandoned and living a very lonely life. For Rey, she realized there was much more to Kylo than what she was told. He was full of conflict, he wasn’t purely ‘evil’. (He had the chance to kill his mother but didn’t. He loved her and I’m pretty sure he loved his father too). After hearing Ben’s side of the story when he burned the temple down, she was taken aback. She didn’t want to believe him, but it made sense that this would be a turning point for Ben to join the dark side. When she called Ben a monster for killing his father, he agreed with her. Killing his own father hurt him. She didn’t expect this type of response, especially from him.
Later, when she was in a very vulnerable state after not getting the answer she was looking for in that cave, she went not to Luke or Chewie, but directly to Ben. She trusted him to see her this way. She knew he would have understood the way she felt. He didn’t manipulate her into doing something she didn’t wanna do, he sat there and listened to her. (”You’re not alone.” “Neither are you.”).
When she reached out, he reached out as well. They were comfortable being near each other. They trusted each other with their feelings, their thoughts.
After realizing there’s still a way to bring Ben Solo back, she willingly went out of her way and shipped herself to him. (I mean, who wouldn’t ship themselves to him anyway)
And let’s not forget that Kylo doesn’t mind when Rey calls him Ben. I mean, Kylo would probably throw another tantrum or kill someone if they called him Ben.
They shared such intimate and sexy moments with one another (the HAND TOUCH and the BATTLE AGAINST THE PRAETORIAN GUARDS).
Also, he could have immediately turned on Rey and killed her. He had many times to do that if he wanted, but he didn’t. He didn’t want to hurt a person who he’s grown to love, to trust, to appreciate.
Rey’s probably the first girl, the first person, he’s ever had this type of relationship with. He wants to trust Rey and he does, he wants to be there for her. He’s falling for her. He finally met someone that might truly understand him.
When He asked pleaded for Rey to join him, Rey seemed so heartbroken to see Kylo come so far only to revert back to his old self. LIKE GOD DAMN, it broke my heart too. Her tears dead-ass tore me in half.
Kylo, the moody, destructive, and authoritative (now) supreme leader, BEGGED Rey to stay with him. He would have never done the same for another person. OFC, Kylo is bitter after getting rejected. He just established this relationship with a girl he genuinely thought was going to join him, and for that relationship to be broken, hurts.
