Good morning I would like to present you all with another mcr theory
No doubt you guys have seen the video by now, here’s a link if you haven’t https://twitter.com/mcrofficial/status/1215400459462201346?s=21
Okay there’s a lot to dissect but let’s start with the symbols. Here they are in order of appearance
Okay so what the hell does it all mean? Allow me to introduce this handy little chart here
Now we have this, we can work out what the symbols are. Here’s the order again but instead of the symbols, what they mean
X (but this only appears from the second cycle onwards)
Okie dokie so we now have a month - June, the four symbols from the merch truck at the shrine show, an M and an X.
I really want to address the M and the X but I’m just going to drop some descriptions of the four merch truck symbols below first for those that don’t know it. All info in the screenshots credited to U/mrgingyman and /U/wickedmachines on Reddit.
Okay so what’s so special about the M and the X? We’ve worked out they’re not M and X the letters, but the numerals. X stands for 10 and M stands for 1000, but if you put them together as MMXX (because you can’t have an M after an X), you get 2020. June 2020.
A lot of people theorised this was hinting at download fest but I take issue with that for a few reasons:
This is an awful lot of work for a festival announcement when they’ve already announced they’re playing a Download fest in Australia and Tokyo and those got no real buildup.
Apart from the UK flag, there’s no real hint that it’s anything to do with that festival
Some people thought the date was June 10th in the video which is where the Download theory came from but if I’m right and it’s meant to read June 2020 then there’s no way of connecting it to download other than it’s the same month.
Okay. So. What’s this all about? We know what the symbols mean, we have the dates. What’s it’s all for?
I think we’re getting a UK tour and an album announcement. You might be able to see where I’m coming from with the tour angle but why do I mention the album?
That’s right, I’m back on my bullshit. Hear me out for a second tho, I think I could be onto something.
So they’re teasing a UK tour, right? That’s what we’re thinking? Cool. Let’s go back to my Kerrang! Theory. I think the tour will be in aid of a new album and we’ll get a Kerrang issue in the future that reveals that along with a new photoshoot. I don’t know when but if they’re teasing the tour now, I think we’ll be getting the announcement soon, maybe even this week. I know I said that last week but just roll with it.
Gerard’s photo and Skel Person still haven’t been explained and I think that’s because they’re teasing two different things and trying to trick us into thinking it’s just for a tour. I think the video teases a tour but the two photos above are in relation to the album. I honestly cannot see how they’d relate to the tour, I really can’t.
This seems a lot bigger than just a single UK show, there’s a lot of build up compared to the other single shows they’ve announced and so I think we’re gearing up for something big pretty soon and I am VERY excited.
Okay let’s recap. Tumblr got rid of my draft so I’ve had to remember what I wrote at this bit so I might update again if I remember something I missed.
The message in the video most likely reads June 2020.
I think this is teasing a UK tour happening in June and that tickets are going on sale soon.
I think the tour is in aid of an album and we’ll get that announcement around the same time tickets go on sale.
I think it could be a pre-order = pre sale deal.
I think we’ll get a Kerrang issue in the next few weeks, possibly even when they reveal the cover on Monday, where we finally get to know what they’re doing.
Okay I think that’s everything, like I said I might update if I remember some things but for now - ✌🏻
