In Dreamland, Scully's speech about getting out of the car and living a normal life is interesting for many reasons, but the timing is especially curious. It comes on the heels of Mulder's love declaration in Triangle. I think his declaration, that dismisses when it happens, actually bounces around in her head a LOT.

What I'm thinking is that she's pretty confident Mulder meant what he said, but she's trying to figure out if it would work out between the two of them.

Is there a future for her with him beyond the work? Do they want the same things in life? Is he at all interested by the idea of a normal life? (...And does she even want that?).
