SCHOOL IS FINALLY OVER! This day marks the very last day when all of us will all be together until we will all split during the summer. It is because of them that they have made my year a truly fun experience in Thailand. I’m going to miss them soooooooooo much!!!

July 16th 2015: 

Our very last farewell dinner for Josh before he leaves for North Carolina! With Josh, we may have come across obstacles that may have torn us apart in some ways, but some of us friends do still try our best to be friends with him. 

It is better to appreciate the moment as much as possible before it’s too late. I wish the best for Josh!

July 14th, 2015:

I remember that on this particular day, it was really stressful afternoon for me. I had my animation project due the next morning that day and I was nowhere close to finishing my animation model (so extreme to the point where I was thinking of flaking on Liverpool with Chakrit and the others.) However, in the end, I had a lot of help and assistance from Sanju and Jake to help me finalize Lugia, making it in time just to make it to the Liverpool game.

I don’t remember how I met up with Chakrit at the game unfortunately. Maybe I went to his house with his parents and we all met up with Chakrit’s high school friend, Benji there? Idk. I can’t remember much. [This is what happens when you have tumbled for four months lol]

I did remember the game very clearly tho. SOOOO MANY PEOPLE came that day. I remember Chakrit’s dad was extremely excited, unlike his mom (she was sweating and couldn’t handle the intensity of hordes of people). But Chakrit, Benji and I were doing fine. As a matter of fact, we were one of the few people audience who stuck throughout the game.

By sticking throughout the game, I meant that physically. While we were watching the game, we heard a thunder storm approach and suddenly. BOOM. Flash rain came and it was an extremely strong storm. I had my one umbrella to cover both Chakrit, Benji and I underneath, but even so, it wasn’t enough. The wind was so strong that my umbrella flipped and broke inside out hahahah. In the end, we don’t give a crap anymore, we just sat in the pour flash rain as we watch the soccer players still play in that horrible weather.

I think that part of the game was probably the highlight of the day hahah. Watching soccer is not usually my thing: I admit that I was falling a little bit asleep during the game, but it doesn’t matter for me. I knew that I would do anything for Chakrit: whether it is forcing myself my animation project as soon as possible, or whether I will have to travel long hours and kms to reach him, or even whether if we have to bear this rain storm during the game.

It was totally worth it.

I’m so behind with updates on my tumblr but I have been writing stuff down on my phone anyways so I shall keep trying to catch up. (I have about 90 different posts worth of catching up right now omg.)

Persecution Against Me

On July 9th, 2015

Dear Tumblr,

Today was probably one of the most harassing experiences that I ever had during my times in Thailand. I may have had culture clashes with other Thai people, but I do also get some critics from other Christians in Thailand for being a Jehovah Witness.

Usually things like this are minor: something that I usually forget and do not care about. Wida, Mark, Sadie and Kenny are all Christian Protestant and they knew that I am a Jehovah Witness and there are times in which Wida and Mark would try to prove me wrong about the principles of the bible. A couple examples includes:

- Wida and Mark found out that Chakrit and I are doing abstinence, that we both made a personal decision to not have any form of sexual relations until marriage. When they ask me why, I would tell them that it is because fornication is against the bible. Knowing that they both do fornication only ALL THE TIME, they became offended and tells me that having sex between two unmarried people is not fornication.

- Wida were also against the fact that I am not for same sex marriage that went legal in United States by the Supreme Court. She tries to prove me that it isn’t in the bible as well.

Point is, there are always people who will always want to prove and test me against the things that I have learned in the bible. However, the biggest test that I was ever put through was with one of my classmates in my Marine Biology class.

The guy’s name is Dan. American guy. Atheist. He is 43 years old and can be a very stubborn at time. I bumped into him one time while we were getting lunch and when he asked me out to lunch on Friday, I turned him down and told him that I have a Christian meeting to attend to. When he found out that I was a Jehovah Witness, he asks me if I can eat lunch with him and answer some questions about the things that JW believes. I tried to reassure him that I am only a bible student and that I am willing to answer every question as much as possible; after that, he accepted it and we finally sat down. The moment I sat, everything has started.

“I do not understand why is God making us all of suffer here on earth. If God truly does care for us, then why are we all suffering?” He asked.

“That is a very simple question. Jehovah does really care about us; however, right now, Satan is actually ruling the earth and not Jehovah. He doesn’t want any of this to happen, and it hurts him to watch us suffer, but Satan wanted to prove to Jehovah that he is a better ruler than he is.” I answered. He nodded and went to the next question.

“Oh really? Well anyways, I do not like how he only allows only 144,000 people to go to heaven with him. That’s not caring” he commented. From the way he talked, I knew right away that he wants to criticize the beliefs of JW as well. I commented on his statement.

“Actually, it is true that only 144,000 people can only go to heaven with Jesus Christ and Jehovah; however, what you do not know is that, those 144,000 will have the greatest honor to serve Jesus Christ and Jehovah by their side. The others who doesn’t still gets to live forever on Paradise Earth. Being in either one of the two options is still the best options for us to be part of. To be honest, I think I would prefer living happily perfect in Paradise than in heaven.” He nods again and continues.

“And what those who doesn’t know about Jehovah? They might not get to know him in their lifetime. That’s not fair.”

“Actually, you are right. They may not know about him now in this lifetime, but during the Great Tribulations right before Armageddon, Jehovah will resurrect everyone and give them the chance to know him. After that they will have the chance to choose who they decided to serve: Jehovah or Satan. If they choose Satan, then they will not get to live in Paradise when the end comes.”

“And what makes you think that Jehovah is real? Do you know it’s a cult?”

“What’s a cult?” I asked

“It’s an small organization that was created by other people that made up their own beliefs! Jehovah Witnesses are a cult! DO YOU KNOW THAT JEHOVAH WITNESSES ARE ORIGINATED AND CREATED IN NEW YORK?!”He pointed out. I was confused.

“What do you mean it is created in New York?” I asked again. He went onto google and there he shows me the website that explains it.

“See? Jehovah Witnesses were created by Charles Taze Russell in New York. You guys are just made up. It’s not a real religion” he tells me. When he tells me, I laughed for the things he is trying to do to test me.

“hahahahah ACTUALLY. Charles Taze Russell actually created the name to call us “Jehovah Witness’s” back in New York. He was another type of Christian before and he came across the teachings of Jehovah, and he realized that this was the true teachings of the bible in comparison to what he learned from the pope. After that, he preached to others the truth about it, and together he formed a group of people to help expand the teachings of the bible and created publications called the “Watchtower”. He is the one who first studied the bible to make it easier for all of us to understand it. After that, he named us the “Jehovah Witness’s”. It is not the religion he created, but rather, it is the name of the group that believes in the teachings.” I lectured him. I was able to prove him wrong once again, but his questions are endless.

Too many questions and offensive comments were made. The list was endless:

What about birthdays. I do not like how you guys do not celebrate that, along with other birthdays.

Did you know that Michael Jackson was a Jehovah Witness? But because he made “Thriller” which was depicting Halloween, you guys shunned him out.

I also do not like how you guys believe that male are superior and dominating to women. You guys do not believe in equality.

The way you guys preach are selfish. Its the same as a drug dealer offering drugs to a homeless person to try it out and after the homeless person enjoys it, he wants it again and you charge them money for the second time. That is selfish.

You guys like to murder your own children. See! Look at the article “Parents refused blood donations for their child”

So many horrible questions, but I still answered them all:

Birthdays we do not celebrate because in the bible, birthdays were used as a day where Pharoah disrespected Jehovah and took advantage to behead innocent people. It doesn’t say “do not celebrate birthday”, but its the principle that we learned from the bible.

Really? I didn’t know he was a Jehovah Witness. Actually, we do not shun people out. We accept them for however they are, however it is their own choice if they want to disfellowshipped from the congregation. Usually the elders would disfellowship them if they are going through a hard time and cant commit; however, they can come back whenever they themselves personally feel like they are ready again. Michael Jackson must have been to into his fame and he never chose to go back to being a Jehovah Witness.

It’s true. We believe that men are higher. However, it is stated that they are the head of the family. That they do their best to support us women, while we women best support men in our own ways. We are basically supporting each other in our own ways that the opposite sex cannot do. You guys may view it as unequal, but for us, the way we treat each other is still equal.

I’m sorry, but you cannot exactly compare us to a drug dealer. We preach about it and give them the chance to know about Jehovah. However, we do not use temptation to attract them. We just announce it, but they come to us if they are interested or are curious. They would be curious with what is the difference with other religions and we would explain each religion and they choose for themselves. That is how it happened with me. When I first learn about Christianity, I was curious to know what are the differences with other religions and it just so happens that this one stood out to me the most. Another thing is that, we do not tempt them with money. We do not want their money. As a matter of fact, unlike other Christianities, we never charge anyone to pay anything. All the money we ever received were donations. Plus that, we preached to others for the good of others. On the other hand, drug dealers only “tempts” these homeless people because they want money.

We do not give blood transfusion because it is stated in the bible that blood is scared that that we can’t eat it nor give it to others. And usually blood transfusion, it always never resulted in a perfect procedure. 

That is when Dan decided to come all at once, and show me websites of everything that is wrong with Jehovah. He told me to check them out. It was already 1.5 hours later that he was questioning me. I was getting tired so in the end, I told him that I am only a bible student again and that if you truly are curious to know more than talk to my bible mentor and ask Lacey instead. She can help. He didn’t say anything after that, until later at night, he constantly started to post more “anti jehovah witnesses” videos and links on my fb page. He was harassing me. 

I talked with Chakrit’s parents, and Lacey and Timothy about it and after they advice, I told him the next day that if he is curious than come join us for meeting if he wants to learn. His final answer: 

“I am not curious about your religion. I only want to prove you wrong and just want to tell you that you should stay away from Jehovah Witness’es” he tells me. 

Insulted, I humbly thanked him for the warning and reassured him that it’s okay. I am happy with where I am. 

SIGHHHH.. I felt a little flustered that I felt like I wasted my time explaining everything to him, but at the same time, it made me see that I actually know alot more about Jehovah than I actually thought.

A Friend’s Betrayal

July 7th, 2015: 

I understand that this post was technically two months late; however, I DO still keep track and write down things that I need to tumblr on my notepad as I enjoyed my adventure in Thailand. Unfortunately, like in every adventure, some moments can be amazing, some moments can be precious; however, some moments can be horrible and cruel. 

This day took place on July 7th, 2015 as I was currently working on my animation final project. For ONCE, I had some time alone to myself. Kenny, Sadie, Josh and Ayaka were always in my room. We hung out EVERY SINGLE DAY, or even every majority of the day, and I admit it! I needed some space. I love spending my days alone in my room to work on things that I want to do for the longest time, such as artwork, or animation, or even blogging this post to rant about it. However, I never seem to have the time to be alone lately to do it so sometimes there are times when I can lose patience. 

One of the times I lost patience was this particular day, when while I was working on my project and suddenly, my friend, Kenny told me that he spotted Sadie crying and running to Mark and Wida’s apartment (who is just a floor below me) and knowing Kenny, it’s his way of saying that Sadie needs my help right now. 

I went downstairs to meet her and she cried to me about her problems. Just the gist of the story, one of my friends, Josh has been asking advice from me on how to help keep the friendship between him and Sadie. He explained that Sadie is too clingy to him as a friend, that she is jealous of my roommate, Ayaka, and is making Josh have Sadie sleepover his place every weekend. My first thought was that Sadie was definitely clingy. However, as much as I can, I still tried to do my best to advise Josh and tell him to be soft with Sadie and just ensure her that they aren’t dating and needs space and etc. However, as I listened to Sadie’s side of the story, everything changed. 

I looked through Sadie’s text with Josh as she showed me and it was too different. Josh was clingy to her. He cheated and two timed her. And worse of all, he used me as an excuse to break up with Sadie and told Sadie to blame me for everything. 

It broke my heart and tears ran down my face as I saw his texts about me. Could a friend have easily taken advantage of you so easily? What did I do wrong to have someone blame me? In the end, I calmed down after the shock and called Josh to tell him VERY CALMLY that I read his text and that we should talk it out the next morning. Instead, he became defensive and shut me out and said that he never needed our friendship anyways. What a slap to the face. 

Sometimes, I wish people can see that everything I do is for the best intentions. Even if some friends, not to mention names, have told me that I am not their best friend to begin with, or that I betray them, and in the end, betrayed me and took advantage of my help, I can completely understand and I will move on and let go if I truly do not see the good change in them. If they truly learn from their mistakes, repent over it and try not to repeat the same mistakes, then I will forgive them. 

And that is what happened two weeks later. The tension between Josh and Sadie and I had resolved and Josh repented over his actions everyday to today for cutting all of us as his friends. Because he learned his mistakes, things are back to normal again. I’m very glad. 

I still truly hope that some people can let go and keep moving forward.  In highschool, people will always write in yearbooks quotes such as  “Don’t ever change” and etc. However... change is something we need. It’s something to help us grow and gain new perspectives, new personalities, and it will result in making us mature and best of all... make us want to be better versions of ourselves. 

That is something I really want to see in everyone. I want to see this in all of my young adorable friends in Mahidol, I still want to see this a few of my friends in LA (I will not mention names). I even want to see this in my mother, father and my brother as time is impeding on their age. I even still wish to this day that I can see this from Oswaldo that will help him grow to become a better person even tho we are broken up. There’s just so many people that I wish I can see them grow.

I can’t wait until they can finally see themselves outside the box. That will be the day.

Adventure in Ayutthaya Part 2 

Tired and exhausted from our first trip to the ruins in Ayutthaya, the rest of the trip was alot less exhausting. We went to chill at a small cafe shack near the ruins and stayed there for an hour I think to cool off. After that, we went for ruins #2 in Ayuthaya. 

This ruin was more “touristic” I suppose. It was sooooo many people and there weren’t any ruins that we can go explore inside. Instead, there was a buddha head inside a tree that everyone went for. 

HOWEVER, while we were walking around the ruins, we were stupid and completely FORGOT about the Buddha in the tree and left without realizing it! HAHAHAHAH oh well... next time I suppose. 

After that, we went to the water market, to the Sala Hotel for its beautiful brick architecture and lastly, went to a seafood market restaurant especially since Ayuthaya is known for the best river prawns in Thailand. It was soooooooo good. 

After that, Chakrit and Ann dropped me back home late night and they all went back home. 

It was a minor one day trip, but it was still a really fun roadtrip with Ann and Chakrit. :)

Adventures in the ruins of Ayutthaya Part 1

It’s another great adventure just the three of us again on a road trip to the ruins of Ayutthaya! 

I especially love the bricks around the ruins and the fact that it only costed 10 baht for Thai people (while 100 for foreigners). However, I must say that the bigger adventure was when we went into the ruins. We had to walk down the narrow stair chambers and we even reach the bottom chamber that had skeletons in it. It stank horribly and for some reason, I felt this musky awkward sensation from the atmosphere that in the end, I couldn’t go any further. 

Alot of people couldnt go all the way in into the ruins, except for this one person who crawled through the chamber with the skeletons and apparently found a secret room in there. Hahaha lucky. 

Sorry, but I think I doubt I will take my chances to do that hahah.

July 3rd, 2015

On the 3rd day of July, 2015, this is perhaps the most important talk that me and Chakrit ever had and we have officially planned our future for the both of us -- especially now that we both have the same goals, same spirituality, same morals and especially the same future that we want to fight for.

Only Jason and Helena knows the full plan at the moment but in the mean time, Chakrit and I need to work on alot of things on our own at the moment.

The time shall approach very soon.

Met up with P Anthony and P Bo’ for dinner at a Japanese Maid Cafe!!! HAHAHAHHAH 

I never noticed we had a Japanese Maid Cafe in Thailand, until we happened to walk upon in in MBK. The service was extremely entertaining -- girls in very poofy maids outfits calls us their master and perform very “kawaii” rituals to make things official. They also dance for us if we pay them. We are also not allowed to touch nor take photos of them... it basically sounds like a Japanese Hooters. 

As a matter of fact, it is technically kind of like it. Sometimes, we would see creepy guys who would dine alone on tables just to check them out. Other fun things that we see, is the dances that they do for the whole restaurant. It’s SOOOOOOOOOOO SIMILAR to the dance that I did for the Monroe’s Talent Show as the SOS Brigade. omg ><

However, the best part about this cafe is that, we all get to see Chakrit’s embarrassing moment of shame! FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, he performed cute “meow meow” gestures and even did the “kawaii” gestures. OMGGGG so funnny. I have it on video, which will be the next post after this HAHAHAHHA

Sighhhhhhhhhhhh I love that day. After dinner, Chakrit and I went to Anthony’s and P Bo’s Condo and went to chill with them for a bit, until we had to go back home. 

Hahahah fun times. Fun Times.

The very next morning, Chakrit and I met up with the friends of Mahidol again on the main streets of Hua Hin. To be honest, Hua Hin does not have much to do, especially with those who are on shortage of money, so instead... we all went back to Plearn Wan! haha

I didn’t mind of course. Chakrit and I went there on the first day of Hua Hin, however, my friends didn’t have a chance to go there. We played games, ate, and ate more desserts hahah. During games, Chakrit and Josh competed against each other at the game booths and unfortunately, Josh won hahaha

After we finished with Plearn Wan, we all went back to me and Chakrit’s hotel and took a shuttle from our hotel to go to the private beach, also known as Takiab beach. Unfortunately, however, before we reached the beach, the sky was raining, which means one thing --- jellyfishes. 

Usually when weathers are raining like this, we all have to be cautious because there can be hordes of jellyfish in the oceans.... but... oh well, we still YOLOED and still played in the beaches. 

We didn’t exactly swim or anything, but instead, we merely enjoyed the waters with our feet and enjoyed the textures of the sands of Takiab. The sun was able to break out later, but all in all, we all still had a fun time. 

After the beach, we went to the Market Village and FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, Chakrit and I finally fulfilled our goals to take Josh to KFC in Thailand!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, we are NOT RACIST. It is just coincidence that he is black and that we really wanted him to try out the fried chicken. Even both Chakrit and I thought that the KFCs in Thailand was sooooo much better than the states. If the Thailand’s KFCs just had some biscuits and honey, then everything would have been perfect! 

After dinner, we took Alyssa, Ayaka and Josh home and in the end, Kenny decided to come home with me and Chakrit to Salaya. Kenny, LIKE ALWAYS, is a storyteller and would always like to tell a very long  story about his life to Chakrit (whom he just met this weekend). They were able to bond throughout the whole ride, which I am glad -- but perhaps, maybe Kenny talked too much about his cases and investigations? hahah idk. 

Anyways, Chakrit and I finally reached Salaya and chilled with me until late night before he had to drive back home. The overall trip was very fun, I do wish it could have been longer.

This made me come up with a goal to do an actual road trip to another place next time during the summer! :)

Circada Night Market, Hua Hin

My friends from Mahidol University have finally arrived at Hua Hin, four hours later, after Chakrit and I had just finished playing in the Water Park at Vana Nava. 

The water park was really fun actually! I think it is ALOT better than the water parks in Hurricane Harbor. The slides here are more intense and there is very little wait unlike the states. Hahaha actually, Chakrit and I just went back there again not long again after that.... and I went there once more again after that with my brother and my family. Hahah I went there too much. 

Well anyways, Chakrit and I met up with my friends at the hotel that they were staying at: it was Ben’s hotel that his family owns. It wasn’t the best of quality and can look a little scary but they are staying there for free at least. 

Chakrit got the chance to finally meet Kenny, Alyssa, and Ayaka for the first time. And it was a great time actually. We took my friends to a weekend night market in Hua Hin, known as the Circada Market. It was a beautiful market indeed. The streets were filled with these beautiful night lanterns, there was music everywhere and it was arts and craft everywhere! Before I knew it, this particular night market was an art market. 

Of course, it thrilled me with excitement and I dragged Chakrit all over the market with me. There were these beautiful tinkering pig-shaped glass that holds 10 baht bills (which no longer exists anymore), many handmade bags... there was even a Detective Conan paint by number that Chakrit even bought for me. 

However, I think my favorite part of all was the candle making stand. Despite if there are nothing but little 7 year old girls playing with these candles, Chakrit and I tossed aside our embarassment and decided to make these candles as well. In the end, we both made these “Huahin” signed candles which turned out beautiful. To be honest, I liked Chakrit’s alot more than mine. hahahah

We all had dinner after that; we ate some grilled seafood (omg so good) and after that, we took the friend to the other night market that was next to their hotel. Alyssa wanted to drink, but as for all of us, none of us wanted to drink. So in the end, we took her to the bar and while she is the one drinking, we all ended up playing pool.

After that, Chakrit and I dropped them back off to their hotel and we both went back to our Amari hotel and ended the night.

I want to ONCE AGAIN apologize for this long delay of not updating on Tumblr. I have done so many adventures with friends and family back in Thailand during that time and I am finally back in the states again; however, even if I am back here in the states again, I have been extremely busy with so many things back here at home. 

Please give me a VERY LONG TIME to finally update and catch up on ALOT of things that have happened during my time.

Day 2 Part One of Hua Hin! 

Chakrit and I checked out the new waterpark that has just been opened in Hua Hin, called Vana Nava. It was absolutely fun! 

To be honest, I think that the waterparks in Thailand are alot more entertaining than the waterparks in California. The slides here are more intense and there are barely any long lines like the ones in Six Flags. 

Hahahah after we chilled in Vana Nava, we finally went to go meet with my friends, who only came like 4 hours late.
