So, does anyone know a free program that can make gifs a tad, uh, faster than GIMP?

Basically the thing that puts me off making them is that I have to apply the colouring effect individually to every slide, then animate it in a seperate program. But I can't afford photoshop. Any ideas, anyone?

Ugh, guys, you have no idea how much I love, love, LOVE kid!Lin now after today’s episode. Especially her relationship with Aang. It must’ve been so gloriously wonderful, I mean, just seeing the way she talks about “sweet-tempered” Aang makes me all warm and fuzzy and that she MUST have very fond memories of him. Who wouldn’t? IT’S AANG! Anyway, I wanted to do something quick before I crash into bed.

I may, or may not explore more of kid!Lin’s childhood. Probably with Toph, her moments with Tenzin, her learning how to master earthbending and metalbending. All that jazz.

Ugh now I a having trouble fully stopping myself from making post after post on all my feelings about Azula that keep gushing to the surface. I blame you Lane. I am half tempted to actually call you, even though you and Jill are prob. asleep, and bother you about it in a truly bothersome manner.

But really, the more I rewatch this show, the angrier I get that Zuko gets redeemed and woobiefied and yet Azula is just presented as a monster. I mean shit. She comes from the same abusive family situation people. You want to argue Zuko is the way he is because of abuse? THE SAME IS TRUE FOR HER. Only where Zuko has other loving family members there to help him heal (ie Iroh) AZULA DOES NOT.

I mean I’m not excusing what she does. Yeah she is ruthless. But she isn’t evil. Fuck, remember when Zuko switches sides, and he describes it as he always thought he was good? It’s like that. In Azula’s world, the fire nation are the good guys. She’s many things, but evil isn’t one of them.

Oh and calling her crazy? Or psycho? Or somesuch? Not cool either. I mean I know they do it all the time on the show, but come on now.

Hey! I hope you don't feel that I'm trying to argue with you because I'm really just interested in discussing this kind of thing and couldn't resist responding so feel free to ignore this if you like.

I never really took that as the point of the Zuko vs Azula situation. I always felt it was meant to show how nurture enforces different personalities and I never really took a lot of Azula's issues to be her fault. So I saw it more as 'her redemption couldn't happen quickly, and she hadn't been able to change yet'. But jeez, how I wish there'd been a confrontation about this in the last episode.

However, you make an interesting point about the use of words 'crazy/psycho' used in ATLA.

Ty Lee overcame her insecurity and found she could be appreciated for her differences as part of a matched set. The one thing Mai ever cared about was Zuko. Zuko found the right path in the end. And Azula? It's clear she cared at heart.
