Breaking my several year harry potter silence just to say that in the Apollo Justice Trilogy, they removed the harry potter reference they originally had in the game. Which means that if you still consume hp content and talk about it, you are doing worse than fucking capcom

There are multiple references to Doctor Who and Star Trek and a character probably named after someone from Battlestar Galactica of all things and 2. The lead writer for the localization stuff with Ace Attorney uses they/them pronouns.

incredibly funny that for the first 4 games the Elder Scrolls series kept talking mad game about the Nords of Skyrim, these badass viking warriors, immune to the freezing blizzards, battling nearly nude, with voices so powerful they could shout you asunder.

and then they made Skyrim and the game is set after a time period of heavy Imperial influence on the region and most Nordic culture is on the decline and toned down and they're not the shouting barbarians they once were, now having a culture more similar to the nation from the previous game.

They don't even worship their own Nordic pantheon anymore.

There are layers to this. Earlier in the episode, Xena discovers her secret while they're sharing a locker room. A woman she has got naked with turned out to be trans. It's the exact scenario terfs are always fear-mongering about, but Xena just shrugs it off.

Also, the kiss was a big deal not just because it was gay but because the trans actress was HIV positive. They wanted to show the world that you can't contract HIV just from kissing someone. Bear in mind, the AIDS crisis was still fresh on people's minds in the 90s.

Happy DQ Day! They revealed DQ 12 and i was shocked to see that they completely redid it and went with a new title. The hero design is definitely... interesting. But I'm remaining optimistic, the concept seems kinda fun.
