🇵🇭HELLO AGAIN MY DEAR OC🇵🇭

Sooooooooo, I believe some of y'all already know my views regarding the official design of Philippines in the new Hetalia season several months ago... I have to admit. I was sad and salty about it. I really thought that more female-personified countries would be added to the series, but I was wrong. Then again, Hetalia's audience mostly consists of teenage girls, and I don't blame them for that. Regardless of the official design of my country, I'm still proud of it. It just so happens that I also love the show for its comedy and little facts about history in general. So, some of y'all are now thinking what would happen to my design of Philippines before the official design was released... Well, since I still love my design of Philippines, I've now decided to just label it as an AU of the Nyotalia style of the official one. Easy as that. 😅👌

BTW, just want to share something: I still haven't watched the new season yet. I'm still waiting for the English Dub release XD.

So I have now officially opened my own commissions and have created a website dedicated to it! It's actually going to be my first time making these kinds of things, and I'm very nervous, yet excited at the same time. 🤠 Also, here's the deal... I honestly don't reserve slots for now. I'd only choose a certain request form if I feel like it, so yeah, basically I'm really not good at deadlines (Sorry!) 🥺 BUT if you are the type of person who is patient in these kinds of stuff, I'm definitely your kind of artist! 😅Nevertheless, for those who are interested in requesting an artwork being digitally made by yours truly, don't hesitate to fill out the contact form in my website! Finally I can now draw again now that I am finished with all of my exams and homeworks at school. It's actually been the start of my Christmas break since December 13 I think....

Anyway, in regards to this artwork of mine, as I was finished with it, I had an urge to create a free-verse poem about what APH Philippines is thinking ming while praying. So here it is....

🕯️CANDLE LIGHTS (A poem by Kyro Parado)

Look at these candles. They shine so brightly amidst the darkness surrounding them. They're like righteous people. Keeping the faith in God in a corrupted society full of sin, hypocrisy, and heresy. They have kept their faith. They have fought for their faith. They were persecuted for their faith. And so right now, they remind us the sacrifices they have done. Like the light from the flames, how brightly they show us the truth in Christ. It's a bit sad that they're gone in this world, but deep down, I know. They are looking at us in Heaven along with the Lord. Every saint. Every martyr. Every righteous person in the eyes of Him. And so as I stare down in these candles, I pray....I pray for the persecuted. I pray for the unborn. I pray for who seek the truth of God. I pray who are uncomforted. I pray for the restless. I pray for peace on Earth. I pray to every person in Heaven, for them to pray and ask God to forgive us heavily of what we have done to ourselves nowadays. Even as little as this simple prayer is to some people, I offer this humbly to You. I offer this silent sacrifice, for the redemption of every people on Earth.

I got inspired after reading an interview on Gina Apostol and her thoughts on the futility of finding a clear narrative in Filipino history; it gave me some thoughts on the messy, fractured nature that is building the Filipino identity. Part of nation-building is the creation of national myths, regardless how they may sometimes hold a grain of truth to them.

Anyway, I suppose it’s a bit more personal than usual? But then again, Amihan has always been my bitter love letter to my Inang Bayan.

I’m so so so so late for Mama Mary’s birthday since September 8 😔. And I’m also so sorry if I haven’t been posting awhile. Anyway, I did made myself a promise that I’ll never break, some that’s something that I’m proud of 🥳. And so for this artwork, I chose Some of the most catholic countries in Hetalia like Italy and Poland and along with my OC with Mama Mary and Jesus 💖✌️(SIDENOTE: Y’all should be patient at me.
