Welcome to Flaire’s - Fantasy Claire’s, that is!

I had such a blast on this ArtFight attack of Aya for @paraesol. Fashion and outfits are a favorite of mine and Aya’s bright, colorful style gave me so much room to play. It was one of my favorites to do the whole month!

I did a lot of research for her looks, which were inspired by a wide variety of influences including Claire's sort of fluffy tween girl style (obviously), Japanese street fashion like decora kei, kidcore, and even things like VSCO and scene styles. See the individual outfits below!

The first look was mainly inspired by these images, which were pulled from Japanese street style and general pastel clothing styling, as well as things like VSCO with the big scrunchies and oversized clothing. This one was a bright pastel rainbow, and I wanted to try a unique hairstyle with two big buns. I really loved the idea of a shirt with big sleeves that went over her hands, as well as big fluffy boots and scrunshies going around her tail.

This second one was heavily inspired by things like kidcore as well as a bit by Tokyo Mew Mew. This was my darker bright rainbow, and I wanted to keep the colors in the primary range with lots of blues and yellows to balance the pink. I wanted to incorporate her bag from her original design, as well as play with things like chunky shoes and bells like on a cat collar.

The last look leaned a lot into decora and a more comfy-style clothing with the beads and hair clip accessories. She was my pastel rainbow, and I was super inspired by the idea of shorts overalls and a big baggy shirt. I was especially in love with giving her cute, chunky mary jane shoes for this and added some leg warmers on the bottom fo balance and visual interest.
