My fiancée and I are having a baby, in case you haven’t heard! Its been sort of rough, not only due to dysphoria but I’ve actually been out of work because I ended up needing surgery in the second trimester and am now in physical therapy because of my hip problems, so we really need to raise money for supplies.

We’ve been trying to save for stuff but with Shay being the only one able to pay our bills its been pretty much impossible.

I hate to ask for help, but I want our daughter to have what she needs, so please. If you can donate it would mean the world to us, and if you cant it would be super rad if you could just reblog this to try to spread the word.

i understand when ur 13 and u just realized u have a mental illness and ur so relieved to know there are other ppl going thru the same thing as u, its easy to slip into the idea that your newly labeled thoughts and behaviors are normal and okay.

they are not. suicidal thoughts arent normal. violent impulses arent normal. delusions and hallucinations arent normal.

now that you have a name for this behavior you need to seek help. dont let tumblr trick you into thinking unhealthy coping mechanisms are the only ways to deal with your mental illness. dont let it fester, dont let it worsen. seek as much help as you can. actively try to better yourself.

More things about the new psych I’m seeing:

First off, I only have to see him two more times for “communication exercises” and he already wrote my recommendation letter so thats cool.

But anyhow.

-I’m not allowed to stim or fidget during the exercises, and as someone with autism and anxiety, that’s super hard.

-still dismisses all my symptoms and doesn’t believe in schizophrenia, despite me being formally diagnosed.

-thinks I’m too young to know anything, and was astonished when I named every effect that hrt would/could have on my body

-literally acted like I was too young to know what a phone book was? First off I’m in my twenties?? And there are still phone books???

-is sexist and racist (said men don’t cry, women talk too much, black men can’t be gay even if they have sex with men)

I mean. I’m getting my hrt so I’m sticking it out. But just holy shit.

1.) Hrt is hormone replacement therapy, its often the first step for trans people who can/want to medically transition.

2.) Right? Being made to stare someone in the eyes for 30+ minutes is gonna cure my communication issues apparently, while we ignore every other symptom and diagnosis because I guess I'm just a dumb kid (twenty-somes are clearly too young) and am imagining these things that I was diagnosed with a long while ago.

My mom recently told me when I was a kid, I was apparently in one of my "I'm leaving and running away and none of you will ever see me again" moments and told her I was gonna go find and steal a horse and run away. She says she asked me if I was gonna run away to join the circus and I froze and looked at her with this terrified look and said "no the circus has clowns"

abuse is addictive due to brain’s hormonal response to extreme stimuli and it’s still not the victim’s fault if they crave abuse or feel restless and anxious without it, it does not mean they wanted it or deserved it, they’ve been hurt so much their brain is damaged by it, nobody on this planet consents to brain damage or wants to cope with feeling absolutely dreadful all the time and craving pain so much while feeling guilty and ashamed for feeling it, it takes ages to stabilize and have your brain hormones regulated properly again but it can and will happen so just keep hanging in there, you are healing all the time no matter what you do

Protip: when a random ass neurotypical asks you about your trauma at an inappropriate time, tell them something hilariously insignificant like “my mom never spiced her chicken” or “I stubbed my toe on my dresser in fourth grade” while staring blank faced into their eyes (or between them if you like).
