@arksaysthings answered your post: heat sensitivity on capped tooth?
It’s possible that the cap is touching the root. It’s something that might require either a new cap, or a root canal.
I’ve already had a root canal on that tooth so idk what that entails 6_6
@sunflowerbun you shouldn't feel -anything- after a root canal. You aren't even supposed to have the required nerve ending -to- feel. I don't know very much about the subject but a cursory Google search says you might wanna call your dentist.
have you seen the full convo with Asriel if you go back after pacifist though cause he's pretty outright with what kind of person Chara was
all asriel says is that chara hated humanity and that they weren’t the best person. there’s nothing there to immediately jump to the “no john, you are the demons” conclusion
like yeah, they hated humans. so did, like, every other character in the game besides toriel? asgore’s plan was to literally murder you and everyone plays along until you remind them that humans aren’t inherently evil
The tapes add a little more, showing them finding out about the flowers and implying them taking them willingly. They choose to go back with the body, I think, and they get angry and try to use their combined powers. I think thats all thats explicitly stated. All we get from the pacifist route is that they were determined, even in the face of their own death. We don’t know if they were trying to do what Asgore always said he was going to do (but wasn’t doing). We don’t know their origins or their emotions. We can only know half of these things in the Bad Time run but that says, to me, something of the kind of person who invokes them as opposed to the the inherent character. I dunno. The connections between player-Chara-Frisk are all very blurred, between Asriel’s claims of projection, naming the fallen child, the contents of the coffin (bandages - being what you started in), being able to Save - which Flowey used to be able to do and the possible flashback we experience after we fall down at Waterfall. Its really up in the air and speculative and I think saying “they were always bad” or “is actually a demon cos they say that at the end of the No Mercy run” is a bit of an easy way out of the discussion in regards to a game with choice. The choices you take dictates, in part, who the fallen child was and is. And I’m still not completely convinced that Frisk has no connection to them, myself.
Chara being a demon before thier death is kind of stupid, narratively. It'd be like Sadako or Jason Vorhees being demons before they died, as opposed to becoming demons because of how they died. Stripping away thier origin and the source of thier grudge kind of robs chara of pathos. Especially when Flowey's whole motivation revolves around his grudge (trying to recapture chara's friendship, trying to prove that the world is kill or be killed since he died as a result of choosing the latter). I don't know if I'm making a good case here it not but given the themes of the rest of the story Chara kind of reads to me as a mixed up kid who got all hyped up on grudge power after they died horribly.

I get not liking it from a moral or fun perspective, but what do you think of the genocide route in terms of what it's trying to accomplish, i.e. being a metanarrative about the player and their morbid curiosity relating to the NPCs?
( #undertale spoilers )
i like the metanarrative stuff and i think it basically needs to exist to make the pacifist route (aka The Real Game) more meaningful. if the game just congratulated you for being so nice without giving you any other option then it would be meaningless
but also i kind of hate how people are obsessing over information from the no mercy route so much and using stuff that doesn’t necessarily apply to all paths (ie: the stuff that happens at the very very end) to make the pacifist route seem darker. the no mercy route is basically just a shitty grimdark version of a game that’s otherwise one of the most heartfelt i’ve ever played. and it sucks that people are trying to dilute and corrupt that earnestness with their assumption that if chara shows up as a reflection of the player’s violence in the no mercy run (remember, toby suggested you give chara your own name) then they must be demonic on EVERY path and frisk is fighting off their demonic influence chara always wanted to kill all humans and monsters even when they were just a regular human child and chara must’ve been horribly abusive to asriel and yada yada yada
that shit sucks
To me, the chara as a demon even before death thing is especially irksome because I feel like it goes against the theme of the pacifist play through, which is one of characters trying to accomplish something good and facing awful consequences as a result of it all going wrong
Greek myths are fucking great because their gods are so human. They argue, they fuck up at things, they make fun of each other, they piss each other off, it’s great, there’s so much human interaction and then Christianity comes in like that guy and is all like “oh my god is infallible and knows everything and immortal and everywhere at once and you can’t see it but its totally there and stronger than everything” shut the fuck up Christianity go take a writing class
did you just call the Christian god a Mary Sue
Ever notice that when a lot of modern atheists try to “logically prove” their dogma of disbelief, it’s inevitably the omniscient, omnipresent, contradictory Mary Sue that they pick apart?
Next time someone goes off on that kind of screed, tell them that you believe in a bickering, dysfunctional pantheon, or a bumbling trickster who means well but has a puerile sense of humor.
Most of’em don’t have a script for that. They’re only programmed to “challenge” the low-hanging fruit of theological thought. It’s more complicated to counter the concept that the contradictions of the cosmos stem from cosmic conflicts and contention, or a lack of competence.
If you time it right and phrase it right, you might actually prompt them to think.
Tell me if I’m wrong on this but isn’t there a scholarly argument that’s pretty well supported for the first book of Genesis literally being Mary Sue fanfiction of the Enuma Elish, but replacing Marduk’s evisceration of Tiamat (as if Marduk wasn’t enough of a Mary Sue) with Mary Sue super God just being so perfect that he sings creation into existence?

I mean
“Okay so we didn’t show her ass in this one instance”
Okay but during actual gameplay her bare asscrack specifically revealed by her costume is still gonna be flopping and jiggling all over the damn place and her super move is still butt to butt crushing someone’s head with her tag team partner
So
What does it actually do
To be honest the outrage over supposed censorship seems somewhat misplaced, like, starbucks cups dropping snowflakes, to reference other current events
