Honestly I'm like really really torn on How I want to portray Cletus and Kristen's pre-trilogy relationship. Because I do want there to be one. And on one hand Cletus is Not above cheating on his fiancé. On the other hand I can't do that to Goal she goes through enough misogynist bullshit already
What if he was a citizen of elysium and a good friend to Cletus (threatening to get romantic from time to time) but she ended up falling down to deponia just a few years pre-story. The way people talk about Goal (especially in the first game) seems to imply it's not a particularly rare thing for that to happen with elysians
And then something something they see each other again post-trilogy and despite being changed so much they still recognise each other and emotional sappy stuff ensues
I'm doing all this because I'm chronically contracted to make my self ships canon accurate and Cletus wouldn't be caught dead associating with a born n raised deponian in more than strict business. Btw
