Headcanon that Leonard’s accent wasn’t anywhere near as prevalent when he was The Director as it was after he assumed the moniker of Dallas. Once he no longer needed that professional front, his accent slowly became more and more prominent as he grew more and more relaxed in his new ‘role’.

Note: Rooster Teeth changed the design of the Mother of Invention between Season 9 and Season 10. In S9, the MoI is a Charon-class light frigate, as the OP states.

However, in S10, the design was changed to match a Paris-class heavy frigate (because of the then recent release of Halo: Reach.) The S9 MoI was based on Halo 3′s In Amber Clad, and the S10 MoI was based on Halo: Reach’s Savannah.

You can see the design change in the first appearance of the MoI in both S9 and S10. Specifically, look at the bottom of the ship. Charons have a larger bottom bay for ground deployments. The Paris lacks the large hanger bay.

Well… crap!

Guess we can add that to the list of visual inconsistencies between 9 and 10. (I have a really hard time seeing which is which with the angle of most of those screenshots, so I’m going to have to take your word for it, but thanks for the info.)

For in-universe purposes, it seems unlikely that the Invention actually became a different class of ship mid-Project, so the question then becomes: which one makes more sense?

For space battles like the Invention’s encounter with the Staff of Charon in the scrapyard, a more heavily-armored vessel would certainly be ideal. Most of the Freelancers’ engagements, however, in both seasons, are groundside, which would lean toward the light frigate. In season 10, too, when Tex fights her way through the hangar, there’s at least one battle tank in there, which would suggest a vessel outfitted for ground deployment. So I’d continue to lean toward the Invention actually being a light frigate. But that’s open to interpretation!
