Without mincing any words, Stephen Colbert no longer being behind the desk of a late night talk show, whether he’s hosting as himself or his over-the-top right-wing news pundit alter ego, is undoubtedly a huge loss to the late night television landscape as well as for both sketch comedy and political satire. Having watched his show religiously during its early years, I seriously wish Stephen the best as he moves on to other exciting ventures. Thanks for all the laughs over the last 11 years!

A lot of you have been very curious to know how development of my very first picture book Are You Fur Real? is going. I'm glad to inform you all that it's moving pretty smoothly and that I'm almost done working on all the illustrations! I'm very sorry I haven't made any major updates on the book in the last several months. To be fair, creating such an ambitious project that has long been a passion of yours is not a very easy task when you have other important priorities in your life like mental health and work.

Autism Acceptance Month inspires me each year to come to terms with my identity as a neurodivergent individual. This year in particular has allowed me to realize the amount of potential I have not only as an illustrator/graphic designer, but also as a newcomer to the world of children’s literature. I am creating my very own picture book, which I have been developing for the last couple of years, and I plan to have complete by the end of this year depending on how much I can get done. Remaining as positive as I can possibly be about accomplishing an impressive feat for a neurodivergent creator is how I feel I can legitimately get ahead.

After more than six months, I have finally completed the first 16 digital illustrations that I plan to use for my very own book titled Are You Fur Real?

I knew from the start that my goal was to make these illustrations appear as accurate to the sketched storyboards as possible. The way I accomplished this was by tracing from each one of the panels using Krita and then adding elements such as color and value to make them appear a lot more lively. Each of these drawings required several hours of refurbishments, recoloring, and copying/pasting in order to make them appear consistent with one another. This was all very painstaking work, but I managed to get the hang of using the digital software each time I worked on an illustration. In short, it all required taking baby steps.

There are six more digital illustrations I’ve completed, but due to Tumblr for some reason only allowing a minimum of 10 images per post, I will have them all posted separately.

I seriously can’t wait to share the remaining illustrations for the book in the near future! Keep your eyes peeled for more, and in the meantime, I would strongly go ahead and support my work on Patreon by clicking the link in my bio!

I watched KPop Demon Hunters on the big screen two weeks ago as part of the 3-day limited theatrical engagement and couldn't stop thinking about the animal characters Derpy and Sussie due to how cool they both looked. This gave me the idea to do a sketch of them, because what's not to like about supernatural animals???

I feel frustrated with myself for forgetting posting my very last Toontober submission on the day of Halloween, so I'm doing it right now.

The final prompt I chose was the 2004 cult classic Shaun of the Dead, a non-animated work that nonetheless had a decent amount of cartoonish elements to it. Every time I watch this movie (the most recent time being a couple of days before Halloween), I notice how it does an incredible job at subverting the genre of zombie flicks by adding in a strong flavor of romantic comedy. It truly feels like a great movie to watch not only in time Halloween, but also in time for Valentine's Day!
