I hate to be this person and y'all can ignore this if you want but what the fuck do people think veganism is?
It sure is not a "diet". It's not "restrictions" and if you "were vegan for a year" you were never vegan, you just had a plant based diet.
Veganism is an ethical stand against animal abuse. People go vegan because they learn what's behind a steak, a chicken wing, an egg, a glass of milk, they see the torture and death behind it and decided to stop supporting it.
It's scientifically proven that animal products give us non transmittable diseases and that the healthiest diet for us is a plant based diet.
It's scientifically proven that a plant based diet is better for the environment.
Both of those reasons are not why people go vegan. Veganism is 100% about the animals.
Before anyone goes there, no, we don't think people on surviveval situations should be forced to be vegan. But there are a lot of people with the privilege to do it.
No, it's not "live and let live" because the animals sure as hell don't have a choice, you see?
It's not "how life is" because I'm sure "life" is not billions of animals being constantly bred and tortured and killed for human consumption.
No, we're not fucking lions. We don't need to eat meat to survive because we're anatomically herbivores. We only eat meat because a long time ago, before supermarkets existed, we had to eat what we had and our bodies got used to it, but go ahead and try to hunt an animal with your big teeth and sharp claws and eat it raw, let's see how that goes.
Also, vegans are against testing on animals too. A plant based diet doesn't include that.
Are you an animal abuser if you consume animal products? Yes, you are. Because you willingly pay for another person to torture and kill animals for your consumption.
