the two notebooks i now carry with me everywhere are just a pink moleskine and my planner. i’ve had this moleskine for literally YEARS and it was so pretty i was afraid to ruin it. but the other day i was watching one of my fave youtubers, jordan clark, and she inspired me to just make it the notebook i bring with me everywhere and jot everything down in, aesthetic be damned. wrote in my ugliest cursive possible that was still legible (to me lol) just to shake off any lingering anxieties about neatness, and it felt GREAT!
I started my new study at university and it is so much fun! The first two weeks have been a bit hectic but next week the real studying will begin
100 Days of Productivity - Day 81/100
December 28th, 2017
I actually did more than just continue to read my book today, what an achievement! I grabbed all the post-it-notes I had, figured out a colour-coding system, and wrote more detailed notes on the themes and symbols within Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre. I will be annotating the novel according to these themes over the next few days, so it should be productive and interesting!

29.05. Going through some practice questions as my next exam on interdisciplinary propedeutics of the organ systems is coming up tomorrow. Also, I just can’t handle the beauty of the light in my room !🌻
Even funnier thing to imagine: resurrecting Diogenes too and telling him that “Platonic” relationships means not fucking, he’d probably laugh himself back to death.
So I actually know the origin of this term because it came up when I studied Plato in my classes. Basically, in ancient Greece it was a super common practice for teachers to fuck their students. Like all the time. It was considered a way for the student to “pay” the teacher. Plato thought this was bullshit. He felt that a student could not properly learn from someone who was truly only interested in having sex with them. He didn’t fuck his students and derided those who did. Other teachers who refused to fuck their students were said to have “platonic” teaching relationships with them – so named because they were following Plato’s example. So the reason it’s called a Platonic relationship is because Plato was heavily anti-teachers-fucking-their-students and it’s one of the few things he was ever even remotely correct about.

When it comes to my journals, you guys know I hate setting rules. So I’m so happy that I’ve been getting more comfortable with integrating my college art with my bullet journal spreads. BOOK UPDATE: I spent a huge chunk of my day today in the “self help” section of Barnes & Noble; thanks to those of you who gave me some recs for books about dealing with anxiety! I couldn’t buy all the books I wanted, but I did manage to pick up You Are Here by Jenny Lawson. It’s pretty much part guidebook, part coloring book and I’m really loving it!
