something i would like to clear up: Mania is supposed to sound disjointed! mania is a mental illness, and it often involves quickly changing moods, going from a high point to a low point very quickly. the album represents that: going from a high song (Church, Champion) to a lower song (Heaven’s Gate, Hold Me Tight or Don’t). The high songs often talk about being big, doing something big (“I can do anything!”, “The only thing that’s ever stopping me is me!”, “If you were church, I’d get on my knees.”), and the lower songs aren’t necessarily slower, but they are very emotional (“And I’ll tell you that I am fine but I’m missile that’s guided to you.”, “I need to come down.”, “The pills are kicking in, she said I love you ‘til I don’t.”). And all of them have general theme of being out of control, which is a very mania-esq feeling.

tl;dr: Mania is meant to seem very disjointed, it’s a representation of mania.
