Fletcher’s debut album Girl of My Dreams is out and it is amazing ✨

This album is damn near perfect. I got so emotional listening to it because she just kept delivering vocally, lyrically and authentically. The pop rock lean to describe her emotions during that time (anger and resentment) to start the album. Then transitioning into this synth/ unforgiving base vibe that I absolutely love to describe denial running from your problems energy followed by self reflection in the middle half of the album. Then stripped back production to discover and lean on self love to close the album! I am so proud of Cari for this one. This is definitely an album worth listening to at least once.

I’m going to go through my initial thoughts for each track below:

The full circle moment in this song is great and it provides such a great transition into the middle half of the album

Yes all the yes. I love this production. The throbbing bass. The guitar. The drum progression. Yes. The backing vocals. Being left alone with your thoughts and trying to avoid it at all costs love the vibe

Serial Heartbreaker

Love love love. I’m such a fan of this type of production in the middle of the album. It flows from Conversations so well trying to avoid thinking about things. And you can feel her journey through that

Her Body is Bible

Same I love the placement. And this heavenly tone leading into the interlude to transition into the final section of the album.

I Think I’m Growing Interlude

Absolute perfection for setting up the closing section of this album.

Girl of My Dreams

Love it. Love that it’s about her choosing herself. And the production reminds me of early 2000s coming of age films.

Holiday

I would put this song on multiple soundtracks. I love her choices vocally on this track.

I Love You, Bitch

The self awareness top tier. The journey to self love ugh. I felt this song so much. Lyrically top tier. Simple production that Supports this track so nicely. It’s a great wind down song.

Zhenghe went to over 40 countries in Asia and Africa and probably went even further, but I didn’t encounter that in history books before. He brought gifts from China to every country he went to and everyone loved him. It was just like “Hey, I’m here with a water-helicarrier and a gift,” and the kings of every country were lilke “holy shit son well here have a giraffe.” There are paintings depicting him leading a giraffe as well.
