obv if you’re in a relationship that tires you out or makes you struggle to see eye to eye then that’s a problem, but the idea that good/healthy relationships don’t demand anything of you is… not true? lol. when people say relationships require hard work, they mean that love involves care and attention and patience, practices that in the long term are sustained by effort and initiative. ofc that doesn’t mean it should be a difficult effort to make, at least not all the time, but it does mean that loving someone has its ups and downs and you need to be able to negotiate that bc you’re human. love is labour, but it’s the kind of labour that makes the effort meaningful
