I haven’t made an intro and tag explanation post yet for my blog so I’ll do that now!

Hi! I go by Pav online and I’m mostly a reblogger but I occasionally write fic. As of now, my obsession is The Dragon Prince (and all my fic on ao3 is about that) but I also make personal/unrelated posts sometimes and this is *technically* my personal blog (it’s more like 99% whatever fandom I’m currently into though). Outside of TDP I love to dance and am very fascinated by maths and text analysis!

For trigger warnings I format my tags like “tw: trigger”, e.g. “tw: pregnancy”. Same for content warnings.

My longer text post tag is “pav rambles” (which is often a bit more personal but not strictly). When I go on a tangent in the tags it’s “pav rambles in tags”.

All my writing including ficlets are tagged with “my writing”.

My salt tag is “disgruntled pav”.

Can anyone use a primal stone?

Anyone can use a primal stone without problems

Only people with some kind of innate mage-ness can use a primal stone

Anyone can, but some have to learn/discover some kind of mage-ness first

Edit: "mage-ness" as in the third option is more than just reproducing runes and Draconic incantations, but something going deeper

Interesting question! Canon dances around the idea that there's at least a particular temperament that mages are likely to have, but also places a curious amount of emphasis on "destiny" regarding Callum becoming a mage. Personally, I think it undermines the story direction if everyone doesn't have the same innate capability for magic, but it also makes sense for it to be like any other skill in that some people find it more intuitive/easier. So while I firmly believe Soren could use a primal stone, he probably wouldn't get it on the first try like Callum does.

no idea if this is an original thought or not but thinking tn about what if callum passed on damian’s illness to little sarai… like goddamn. i mean there’s just astronomical guilt/resentment-spiral potential there, and ofc the elephant in the room of the massive viren-soren parallel going on but also imagine callum post-diagnosis starting to paint little sky runes on her chest every day to let her breathe easier, completely reorienting his understanding of his magic towards keeping her safe & happy in a very urgent & ever-present sense, maybe trying desperately to teach her the sky arcanum himself so she’ll be able to protect herself that way, meanwhile there’s the possibility of a dark magic cure tempting him every day, especially if the sky spells don’t completely manage the symptoms. rayla’s helplessness as she’s rendered utterly unable to protect the child she swore to keep safe at all costs before she was even born. both of them terrified and treating her like glass. just really fun stuff!!!

There are sounds of cheers and crying and the two people hug each other as they exchange the flags. The man at the doorway then waved kisses to the crowd within the pride parade.

For context, apparently they were worried that maybe he's a nationalist because he was waving the Portuguese flag and some nationalists opposing the pride march were waving that flag. But upon interacting with him, it turns out he didn't have have a pride flag and he wanted to wave *a* flag in support of the pride march. So they had an exchange and now he has his own pride flag 😭🥹.
