how to defend nero: everytime historians talk negatively about nero, call it flavian propaganda, no matter how likely it was or common for roman culture or how many times its referenced across different sources that don’t even relate to nero at all. except that one that really would be okay today, but a grave insult in ancient times. that modern pro-nero historians will even argue did not happen and was instead a misunderstanding.
