Rapper Macklemore is releasing a track called “Hind’s Hall”, speaking out on the genocide of Palestinians, and the United States complacency in this ongoing violence. Macklemore has stated that once the track drops on streaming, all proceeds from streams will be going directly to UNRWA— the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East.

The new tracks namesake Hind’s Hall echoes the honours that Columbia University encampment protestors bestowed the Morningside Heights campus’ Hamilton Hall— in memory of Hind Rajab, the 6 year old Palestinian girl in Gaza who was shot by Israeli soldiers after being trapped inside a vehicle, with her dead family. She had begged to be rescued as tanks closed in on her.

Macklemore using his platform to vehemently speak out against genocide, the Israeli occupation and United States-led violence is what every single artist should be doing right now. The power of art should not be underestimated. Macklemore started out in the Hip-Hop scene within communist circles, namely working alongside Blue Scholars, and has never neglected his Leftism through out his career: the artist has spoken on issues regarding mental health, addiction, racial profiling and police violence, Capitalism, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and toxicity of American culture.

Remembering to eat. Being alive was hard. It was shitty how hard the adjustment was after being a disembodied shadow for so long. 

“You can just have the au jus if you don’t think you’re ready,” Noah offers, leaning on the counter next to you. He’d cut the sandwich in half.

i love when characters don't get to die

this is about villains/antagonists/general horrible people who finally face up to what they've done. especially if they try to pull the good ole "Dramatically Does One Good Thing To Redeem Themselves And Dies," but despite their best efforts they DON'T die. like yes motherfucker there's no easy way out for you, there's only the slow, awkward and painful process of learning to live with yourself. of learning to live with the weight of your mistakes. you get a second chance regardless of if you think you deserve it. you get to try to make amends and do good. you get to live.

this is also about every self-sacrificial bastard of a protagonist who puts themselves in harm's way again and again and again to a wildly unhealthy and unnecessary degree. see, there's something so compelling to me in the unspoken suicidality of repeated heroic self-sacrifice, and the thing about implicitly suicidal characters is that i want them to live. and that can be used to make a death so much more tragic and impactful - noble sacrifices and last stands certainly can and have been done beautifully - but there's also something special to me in seeing such a character make it. because you'd die for the people you love, yes, but would you live for them?

My personal headcanon is in the years living together, Connor starts to cut Noah's hair, since Noah doesnt really go to a barber (criminal on the run, ya know) and even as Noah insisting that he CAN cut his own hair FINE, thank you Connor, Noah always miss the one at the back of his head, they ended up looking wonky (hence the beanie lol)

Connor with his 💖great hair💖 decide to convince Noah to just pleasee let him give him a haircut this one (1) time, and Noah relents. He ended up really liking the haircut, Connor DOES know how to handle a pair of scissors. (Of course the fact that Noah found the way Connor's callouse fingers running through his hair, and the gentle way he tilts his head or blow on his nape to get the bits of hair out annoyingly soothing does NOT have anything to do with it) So it ended up a thing that they do sometimes😊

I have so many things to say about TCH2. It’s actually such a beautifully written book and as someone who’s been obsessed with fairytales since childhood, I love it’s utilisation of troupes both how it plays into them (such as ‘true love’) and subverts them (‘Powerless’ heroines, the scene with Jack and the old Fae, sun and light=good dictomy) and could literally write essays on it

down with stomach flu playing ILITW for the 5th time and really wondering... just what was the extent of Noah's coordination with Jane on the homecoming attack? The book keeps it fairly ambiguous but was he more like:

"Homecoming will be the perfect time to strike since everyone will be there, also you should kidnap one of our friends so it's easier to lure everyone in after them" /all according to keikaku

or

"Communication is really vague and difficult with shadow ghost so I'm just rolling with the punches trying to be helpful to Jane... monster attack during homecoming? I guess that's my cue to act - oh, there's Andy's phone, how convenient..."

I can honestly see it going both ways but curious what everyone's thoughts are!
