anti-anxiety spell jar

INGREDIENTS:

ground cinnamon

ground clove

sugar

white candle + lighter

patchouli or sandalwood incense

gold and white glitter

ground peppermint tea

peppermint essential oil

flower petals (yellow or blue)

dried basil

small glass jar w/cork

clear quartz (optional)

PROCESS:

begin burning the incense and the candle.

layer the ground peppermint tea on the bottom of the bottle. add in about a teaspoon of sugar.

add two pinches of cinnamon, and one pinch of ground clove.

put four small basil leaves on top.

shake in the gold and white glitter, to your liking.

add in the flower petals. use a flower that connects with your personally, or one that gives off happiness. i suggest bright blue or yellow flowers.

once your incense has finished burning, carefully shake some of the ashes into the jar.

add in 2-3 drops of the peppermint essential oil. insert the cork

use the white candle to seal the jar. while sealing, focus on banishing any negative / anxious thoughts while chanting:

it’s just me, myself, and i anxiety can say goodbye.

finally, leave the jar out on a windowsill (preferably during the full moon) with the clear quartz in order to charge it.

🖤 Spell Jar for Protection 🖤

Ingredients/Equipment

Chilli Flakes (or Chilli Powder, whatever's around) - to ward off unwanted guests

Rosemary - purification, protection

Salt - absorbing negative energy, protection, purification

Black Pepper (both peppercorns and grounded) - banish negativity, protection from evil

3 Bay Leaves - protection from harmful energies

Protection Sigil or a Banish Negativity Sigil

Preferably Black Candle to seal the jar (white may be used as a substitute as I have done)

A Jar

A Funnel (trust me, if you don't use one shit will go everywhere, make and use a homemade paper funnel if you need to)

Spell Method

Cast a protective circle or do your own pre-spell rituals, whatever works for you and light the candle

Cleanse your equipment and ingredients (I use specific ritual incense but again whatever works for you, sage burning, etc)

Put the ingredients in the jar one at a time, repeating a chosen affirmation for protection with each one. The order doesn't nessicarily matter as the intent is what's most important. However, I recommend leaving the bay leaves until last

Use a marker to draw a sigil that represents protection or banishing negativity on at least one of the bay leaves. If you need to break up the leaves to fit them in the jar that's okay; again, the intention is what's most important

Close the jar and seal it with the wax from the candle

Samhain Ideas

🥀 Write letters to your ancestors. Seal them in envelopes with dried flowers or other small offerings, and burn them.

🥀 In lieu of flowers, delicately cut apple slices, orange peels, or other fruits in floral shapes and leave a bowl of them as an offering.

🥀 Read some books/watch some movies that are popular in your family.

🥀 Write little poems or letters to the Fae, roll them up and put them inside cinnamon sticks with a blob of honey or some milk, then leave them in the woods.

🥀 (Gently!) Put googly eyes and tiny paper hats on your plants to make modern Jack o’ lanterns.

🥀 Wear things from people in your life, family jewelry, clothes that a family member has purchased for you, 

🥀 If you can, visit the grave of a loved one or someone in your family. Talk to them for a bit.

🥀 Charge candles with crystals Lapis Lazuli, Rhodonite, Citrine, or hematite to burn at your altar.

🥀 Write a list to your deities of the things you are proud of having accomplished together. Bury it with an offering.

🍁So what’s Samhain?

Often known as the witches new year, Samhain (sow-in) is the pagan festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter. It is said that that the veil between our world and the spirit world is the thinnest.

🥧When is it?

It begins the evening of Oct. 31 and ends the evening of Nov. 1

🍺Food & drinks: apples, pumpkin, squash, grains, corn, beer, wine, root veggies, pomegranates, potatoes, hazelnut

🍯Crystals: pretty much any black crystal, smokey quartz, fluorite, bloodstone, carnelian

🦊Herbs & spices: Patchouli, rosemary, cloves, sandalwood, sweetgrass, sage, cinnamon, nutmeg

🧀Activities:

Go for a cemetery or nature walk

Cook some old family recipes

Divination!! This is the best time of year for it (in my opinion)

Make a bonfire

Set up an altar to honor your ancestors

Collect fallen leaves/acorns

Samhain Renewal Spell 🎃✨🔮

Samhain is often remembered for its association with the thinning veil, ancestor work, and the movement of the world into the darker half of the year. However, it’s also been known as the Witch’s New Year! For this Samhain, I wanted to craft a simple New Year’s type spell to banish what I don’t wish to carry with me anymore in this next year.

Needed ✨ Writing implement of choice ✨ Paper ✨ Candle ✨ Fire ✨ Fireproof/fire safe bowl or container (to hold the burning paper)

Write all the things you don’t want to carry into the next year (or things you wish to banish!) on a piece of paper.

Light the candle and say (or think, or sing, or whatever you like) as it burns:

“Samhain is here and cold is the earth, As we celebrate death, life, and rebirth. As the Wheel keeps turning on, Some things we keep, others- gone. To move forward in life, I look to the past, And what no longer serves me, out I cast.”

After you’ve meditated on these things and you feel ready to part with them, burn the paper. Meditate on the knowledge that you now have set the intention to move away from whatever you’ve banished and that you have the freedom to move forward with your life! The intention is set and in motion for you. Blow out the candle when you’re ready and have yourself a happy Samhain! ✨

I really want this bottle in my bathroom. I’d place it next to matching decorative soaps and towels as if it seems like it fits, but I’ll actually fill the thing up with ketchup.
