Hoodoo is in a lot of black churches and a lot of y'all don’t know it and a lot y'all grandmas either were or are witches who practice within the church lots of black superstitions and culture are tied to hoodoo😉

As someone who loved learning about African American history during my younger years there came to a point where I felt that there was something missing in our history, a missing piece to be specific and a question that often popped in my mind was……how were many black people like Frederick Douglas and Harriet Tubman were able to live past the life expectancy back than despite not having good sources of food during slavery (like how we were forced to eat the leftovers of the slave masters which were the bad parts of the pig) and experiencing intense physical and mental trauma?

The answer to both of these was hoodoo all along

It’s real–our practices our real. And while it’s not hoodoo, I think of the impact Vodun had in Haiti.

And even with my protestant side of the family, I had family members who did healing and hoodoo in the church, but if it was taken out of the church, it would be seen as witchcraft
