On December 10, 2020, Brandon Bernard is scheduled to be executed by the federal government for a crime he committed when he was 18 years old. He has spent 21 years on death row. Five out of the nine surviving jurors that found him guilty and one of his prosecutors no longer agree with his sentence. Please spread his story on social media, email President Trump, and call the Justice Department to ask them to commute his sentence to life without parole. Brandon Bernard’s crime is incompatible with his punishment and we cannot allow the federal government to follow through with this.

This!!!!! You cannot put in a parents ITIN either. It’s not the same thing and you will be asked to correct that before you can get aid. A question I got a lot when I worked as a college readiness counselor for high schools was: would the Department of Ed report to immigrations that their parents are undocumented. The answer is no. There is no communication between the two departments, FAFSA does not care about that one ounce. 

Also an important note. If you yourself do not have a SSN never fear, look and see if your state has local aid you can apply for. For an example, Texas has something called the TASFA. Which is basically the FAFSA but Texas aid. The requirements for that is that you are a resident of Texas (which means that you’ve live in the state for X amount and then you’re good). And many colleges and third parties have scholarships for first generation college students. Take advatage and go get that degree!
