concept. grace trying to have his cake (prove to rocky this is not the first time in his entire life he's been close to another person) and eat it too (continue to avoid confessing he did not actually volunteer to be on the hail mary) by talking about stratt, the woman in charge of the whole project, very infrequently. five whole sentences the whole journey back to erid. but he talks about eva a lot. eva is his friend. eva worked on the project with him, eva and him spent a lot of time together, he misses her something awful, sometimes rocky reminds him of her. rocky does not need to know eva and stratt are the same person. grace is in no way hoisting a sword up to hover dangerously above his head.

NASA just dropped the closest image ever taken of Jupiter
@hamletthedane’s tags: #Vincent Van Gogh is crying somewhere in the after and I’m crying just thinking about that#you knew!! you saw the patterns!! there is a whole planet painted in the oils from your brush!!#TIL that the craft Juno went as close as 4000km from Jupiter’s weather surface#for context: the craft was closer to Jupiter than NYC is to LA#which is space terms is like. basically being on the planet#holy shit
grace's biodome kind of utopian not just because he never has to pay taxes and has an entire team of aliens looking after his medical needs sans insurance and gets to spend every day with his bff slash soulmate rocky but also??? he can have whatever weather he wants. forever. and if he doesn't like it he can just turn it off. let me innnnnn

seeing many posts on the matter that i agree with and also disagree with. i will be reblogging none of them because if i embroil myself in this discourse i will feel my own brain gently sous vide-ing

There is no drug on earth that can replicate the absolute euphoria of hitting a writing flow state at 2:00 AM. You aren’t even typing anymore. You are a vessel. You are a channel for the gods. The characters are speaking directly into your brain and you’re just the stenographer trying to keep up. You feel like you could fight a bear. You feel like you invented the alphabet
I have kind of a niche political view on tumblr, which is that I think misogyny is bad even when it’s just hurting women
and I don’t even think it needs to have a singular benefit for men for feminism and the abolition of patriarchy to be worthwhile
in fact the abolition of patriarchy could be a net loss for men and I would still think that feminism and the abolition of patriarchy was worth it
Here's a classic for Sci-Fi Cutaway Saturday: A 1970s cutaway view of a Toroidal Colony, by NASA artist Rick Guidice.
