I think a proper harness for parachuting (or climbing) would also be secured around his thighs, so while he's free to misuse it as he pleases - what he seems to be actually wearing is a techwear accessory (semi-evident by the rest of his... techwear get-up). Wouldn't put it past him to hook himself up to a parachute anyway and get ripped in half, though!

(Personally, I honestly thought he wanted the harness for Kyo to grab onto, since he's not wearing the loose grabbable hoodie anymore and he so desperately wants to be dangled from that cliff.

I'm kinda sad the animation had him grabbed by the 'shirt' regardless.)

Starting October 4th, Best Episodes as voted by fans of the first four Digimon series will be re-airing on TV, replacing Digimon Beatbreak.

Digimon Adventure and Tamers will take the lead, 02 and Frontier to follow.

Hiroaki Hirata will read comments from fans for the Adventure episodes, Masako Nozawa will read the comments from the fans for Tamers.

There will be a new opening song for this special re-run, artists like Michiko Ohta, Ayumu Miyazaki, Takayoshi Tanimoto and Hiroshi Yamada will participate.

Multiple Digimon series will also be getting merch pop-ups in the next few months.

Digimon Adventure will get new figures with different brands, most notably Look Up figures of the characters Taichi, Yamato, Takeru and Hikari will join the existing Digimon line-up.

Finally, a completely new Digimon Anime series is in development, scheduled to air in 2027.

Them announcing a new anime series for next year when BeatBreak is currently still airing is really surprising, especially when you consider the fact that the last time two separate Digimon seasons aired back to back was in 2002, with every other season having a 4-ish years gap between them.

So a part of me think that this might be a Xros Wars situation where the new season will actually be a part 2 of BeatBreak? Which I would be here for that considering that BeatBreak has way too much going on to be concluded in one short final arc.

I took liberty to add dialogue on this fan manga but decided to type them down here in the description. (Sans the manga lightning sound effect in the 9th panel itself.)

Panel 1:

Kanada: "This is... A very intriguing creation of yours, Professor."

Professor: (Pair of glowing eyes in the BG) "It's called Gizmon, Kanada-kun. They will prove to be valuable assets in your World Union's noble endeavours."

Panel 2:

Kanada: "Once these.. Gizmon are produced en masse and running, the better we can do away with the unreliable Cleaner System and complete Shangri-La project ahead of time.

Chairman Wong shall be pleased.”

Panel 3:

Professor: "I'm honored that my masterpieces are of help, but... How about we now discuss the Shangri..."

Kanada: “…That’s a no.”

Panel 4:

Professor: "N-no? But haven't I proven my worth to you and the esteemed Chairman's cause?

Are my Gizmon as well as my other anti-Digimon weapon tech not enough?"

Kanada: "Your otherworldly knowledge and expertise are indeed a great contribution, but matters regarding the Shangri-La project are secrets that can't be just given away like kids’ candies.”

Panel 5:

Kanada: "…And you, my friend, ain’t exactly the face to be just trusted. Unless you’ll divulge to me your much vaunted time-space oscillation technology.”

Professor: "…Oh, sadly I can't. Time-space oscillation is.. An astonishing but a very dangerous wonder. It left me in this withering and mangled state, as you can see."

Kanada: "Pity. Then I guess that's it for today. You'll find your shipment of Sapotamas and needed test subjects on the lower decks. I'll send your regards to Chairman Wong.
