hello everyone, i'm mina, 30, and this is my f1 sideblog (main: @minamaybe)

firmly supporting cl16, lh44, op81 (but i do have opinions about everyone - driver ranking below!)

i have a background in journalism (though i don't work in the field, thank god) so i'm also quite interested in the media & pr side of things

some more trivia under the cut!

my best friend got me into f1 during the pandemic; the first race i ever watched in full was abu dhabi 21. yep. great introduction to the sport, not traumatising at all.

i watch f1 on austrian free tv, and the broadcasts sometimes include interviews or segments you don't get anywhere else - if anything catches my eye, i'll try to post it here!

i was so, so, so insanely fortunate and got to go to the monza grand prix this year, and it's truly one of my most treasured experiences ever. forza ferrari, even though y'all make me cry

So, guys, today’s news that a new species of wasp has been named after Oscar isn’t the only thing to bear his name. Racine News 365 published this article, in which it wrote, and I quote:

“McLaren has further begun to address the volume and types of materials traditionally used in F1 car design and production. Behind the scenes, McLaren Racing’s Accelerator program has continued to build on its work with the Great Barrier Reef Foundation, which began in 2023. McLaren Racing developed OSCAR (Operational System for Coral Assembly and Restoration), a machine that builds cradles and carefully handles baby coral, allowing it to be returned to damaged parts of a reef to accelerate recovery”

I don’t know why, but I’m so happy! Seeing something named after Oscar makes me proud because these are truly valuable things 🥺💕
