Back Steps
I decided to try out being a Handyman and fixing the back steps. They were rotting and getting pretty dangerous. The results were pretty darn good!

Meat and Wine co
There are two of these restaurants in Sydney and two in Melbourne. We recently went to the one in the Hotel Intercontinental near Circular Quay.
They serve pretty amazing steaks, ribs, skewers and pork belly. Can be pricey but worth it for a special night out.
They also do an allergy menu for those with Gluten, Lactose or Nut issues.

Din Tai Fung
For a great dumpling bar in Sydney, you can’t get better than Din Tai Fung.
There are locations around Sydney including the CBD, Chatswood and Miranda, it fills up really quickly. You can watch the chef’s make the dumplings in the kitchen out the front.

Maddie at Fagan Park
Fagan Park
Fagan Park is a huge park out in Galston (15 or so minutes from Hornsby). It was donated by the Fagan family and opened up to the public in 1988.
Kid’s Playground
It’s a great park for the kids with a large playground area.
Gardens
It also has a lot of great gardens from around the world - Dutch Garden, Mediterranean Garden, African, North American etc
Details
Parking: $5 cost which covers maintenance of the park Website: http://www.hornsby.nsw.gov.au/my-lifestyle/sports-and-recreation/parks-and-playgrounds/galston/fagan-park Address: 38-48 Arcadia Road, Galston
Early morning commute
Luna Park
Luna Park is a great family outing for all ages of kids (even the adult kids!).
They have different grades of ride based on a kids height. Our youngest just snuck in to the biggest height by about 1cm which meant she could go on all rides if she wanted to (she didn’t).
The lines are never too long - not usually longer than 15mins but the rides can be a touch short.
Highlights
The Rotor - this is essentially a large centrifuge where people get spun around until they stick to the wall...the floor then slowly drops away from them as they float on the wall
Coney Island - a great one for the kids with big slides, a mirror maze and a spinning record player type thing that the kids sit on and see who can stay on the longest
The Ferris Wheel - with some of the best views in Sydney, the Luna Park Ferris Wheel is a must.
Dodgem Cars - always a favorite with everyone. What’s not to love about Dodgems?
Wild Mouse - An old roller coaster that’s been there for ages, it’s a two person fun ride where you often think the car will go right off the track
Details
COST: $30 - $50 per person for unlimited rides (Tip: Buying online is cheaper) PARKING: $35 for the day, though other ways of getting there are Bus, Train or Ferry WEBSITE: http://www.lunaparksydney.com/

Beer of Choice - Young Henry’s Real Ale
The Lord Nelson
Battling it out for the title of Oldest Hotel in Sydney is The Lord Nelson with The Hero of Waterloo and The Fortune of War all in the Rocks.
It’s a great pub - does a good Pie floater (special price on Monday).
Beer of Choice - They’re all great, but the default first beer to try would be the Three Sheets. Other great choices are 111 if available and the Old Admiral
